Cathepsin B is one of the major lysosomal cysteine proteases that plays an important role in apoptosis. Herein, we investigated whether Cathepsin B is involved in cardiomyocyte apoptosis caused by hyperthermic injury (HI) and heat shock protein (HSP)-70 protects these cells from HI-induced apoptosis mediated by Cathepsin. HI was produced in H9C2 cells by putting them in a circulating 43 °C water bath for 120 min, whereas preinduction of HSP-70 was produced in H9C2 cells by mild heat preconditioning (or putting them in 42 °C water bath for 30 min) 8 h before the start of HI. It was found that HI caused both cardiomyocyte apoptosis and increased Cathepsin B activity in H9C2 cells. E-64-c, in addition to reducing Cathepsin B activity, significantly attenuated HI-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis (evidenced by increased apoptotic cell numbers, increased tuncated Bid (t-Bid), increased cytochrome C, increased caspase-9/-3, and decreased Bcl-2/Bax) in H9C2 cells. In addition, preinduction of HSP-70 by mild heat preconditioning or inhibition of HSP-70 by Tripolide significantly attenuated or exacerbated respectively both the cardiomyocyte apoptosis and increased Cathepsin B activity in H9C2 cells. Furthermore, the beneficial effects of pre-induction of HSP-70 by mild heat production in reducing both cardiomyocyte apoptosis and increased Cathepsin B activity caused by HI can be significantly reduced by Triptolide preconditioning. These results indicate that Cathepsin B is involved in HI-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis in H9C2 cells and HSP-70 protects these cells from HI-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis through Cathepsin B pathways.  相似文献

The selective in vitro expansion and differentiation of multipotent stem cells are critical steps in cell-based regenerative therapies, but technical challenges have limited cell yield and thus the success of these potential treatments. The Rho GTPases and downstream Rho kinases (Rho coiled-coil kinases or ROCKs) are central regulators of cytoskeletal dynamics during the cell cycle and thus help determine the balance between stem cells self-renewal, lineage commitment, and apoptosis. Here, we examined if suppression of ROCK signaling enhances the efficacy of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) differentiation into neurons and neuroglial cells. BMSCs were cultured in epidermal growth factor (EGF, 10 µg/l) and basic fibroblastic growth factor (bFGF, 10 µg/l) in the presence or absence of the Rho kinase inhibitor Y-27632 (10 µM). The expression levels of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) were detected by immunofluorescence and Western blotting. The average number of NSE-positive cells increased from 83.20 ± 8.677 (positive ratio 0.2140 ± 0.0119) to 109.20 ± 8.430 (positive ratio 0.3193 ± 0.0161) per visual field in the presence of Y-27632, while GFAP-positive cell number increased from 96.30 ± 8.486 (positive ratio 0.18 ± 0.0152) to 107.50 ± 8.683 (positive ratio 0.27 ± 0.0115) (P < 0.05 for both). Both NSE and GFAP protein expression levels were enhanced significantly by Y-27632 treatment (NSE: 0.74 ± 0.05 vs. 1.03 ± 0.06; GFAP: 0.64 ± 0.08 vs. 0.97 ± 0.05, both P < 0.01) as indicated by Western blots. The Rho kinase inhibitor Y-27632 concomitant with EGF and bFGF stimulation promotes BMSC differentiation into neural cells. Control of Rho kinase activity may enhance the efficiency of stem cell-based treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on hematopoietic recovery and acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in a murine allogeneic umbilical cord blood transplantation (allo-UCBT) model. MSCs were obtained from C57/BL mouse bone marrow. The MSC phenotypes were identified by flow cytometry (FCM), and their ability to differentiate into osteoblasts and adipocytes was tested. Once murine allo-UCBT and aGVHD models were established, mice were divided into five groups: (1) total body irradiation (TBI) group, each mouse receiving 0.3 ml sterile saline infusion after TBI and used as control; (2) UCB group, receiving 2 × 106 umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells (UCB-MNC) after TBI; (3) UCB+MSC group, receiving 2 × 106 UCB-MNC and 2 × 107 MSC after TBI; (4) UCB+SC group, receiving 2 × 106 UCB-MNC and 2 × 106 spleen cells after TBI; and (5) UCB+SC+MSC group, receiving 2 × 106 UCB-MNC, 2 × 107 MSC and 2 × 106 spleen cells after TBI. To evaluate the engraftment of HSC, the white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets counts were tested at different time points after transplantation, and the ratio of chimerism was identified by FCM. The acute GVHD clinical scores, recipient mice survival, and the histopathological analyses were used to evaluate the effect of MSC on acute GVHD. MSCs were successfully obtained in vitro and FCM analysis showed that these cells are highly positive for CD90.2, CD44, and negative for CD34, CD45, and they are capable to differentiate into osteoblasts and adipocytes after being induced. Compared to UCB group, the UCB+MSC mice had shorter duration of myelosuppression and higher percentage of donor-derived cells which was up to 22.87 ± 4.3 % and the white blood cell (WBC), red blood cell (RBC), and platelet counts started to increase by day 6 after transplantation. Moreover, the average survival time for UCB+MSC mice was 25.0 ± 10.55 days, while for the UCB group it was 15.5 ± 12.50 days. The UCB+SC mice showed fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss, arched back, and hair ruffling on day 13 post transplantation. Approximately 50 % of mice showed skin ulcers, had diarrhea and other manifestations of acute GVHD, and all mice were died within 20 days. Histopathological analysis confirmed grade II–IV GVHD manifestation. In addition to transient weight loss, some UCB+SC+MSC mice developed arched back, hair ruffling, diarrhea and other manifestations of acute GVHD. The clinical scores in UCB+SC+MSC mice with acute GVHD (grade I–II or without GVHD) were lower than UCB+SC group (P < 0.05). Bone marrow MSCs can promote hematopoietic recovery and decrease the incidence of acute GVHD in murine allo-UCBT model.  相似文献

To investigate the mechanism of apoptosis in myocardial cells of aging rats induced by d-galactose and to study the effect of the Polysaccharide isolated from the seeds of Cuscuta chinensis Lam (PCCL) on apoptosis of cardiomyocytes and its corresponding machinasim in aging rat model. Fifty male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups. Normal control group (NC). d-galactose (100 mg·kg?1d?1 for 56 day) indued aging group (MC), d-galactose plus 100 mg kg?1 d?1 PCCL group (ML), d-galactose plus 200 mg kg?1 d?1 PCCL group (MM), and d-galactose plus 400 mg kg?1 d?1 PCCL group (MH). Same volume of solution (water, or PCCL aqueous solution) was given by gavage for 56 days. Then the hearts were collected and apoptosis parameters were evaluated. Caspase-3 and Cyt c were determined by fluorescence spectrometer, the apoptosis rate was assessed by AnnexinV-FITC method by Flow-Cytometry, [Ca2+]i and [Ca2+]i overloaded by KCL were observed by laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM); Bcl-2 and Bax were examined by immunohistochemistry. The content of Cyt C, [Ca2+]i of cardiomyocytes, the activity of Caspase-3, Bax expression level in d-galactose induced aging group were higher than NC (p < 0.05). The ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was decreased in d-galactose induced aging group compared to NC. On the other hand, the content of Cyt C, [Ca2+]i of cardiomyocytes, the activity of Caspase-3 and apoptosis rate, as well as Bax expression level in all three PCCL groups were decreased compared to galactose induced group (p < 0.05). Bcl-2/Bax ratio was increased in all PCCL groups compared to galactose induced aging group. PCCL could decrease the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes by the mitochondria apoptosis pathway.  相似文献

Evidence is emerging with regard to the role of tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP) in neural functions. As an ectophosphatase, this enzyme might influence neural activity and synaptic transmission in diverse ways. The localization of the enzyme in known neural circuits, such as the retina, might significantly advance an understanding of its role in normal and pathological functioning. However, the presence of TNAP in the retina is scarcely investigated. Our multispecies comparative study (zebrafish, cichlid, frog, chicken, mouse, rat, golden hamster, guinea pig, rabbit, sheep, cat, dog, ferret, squirrel monkey, human) using enzyme histochemistry and Western blots has shown the presence of TNAP activity in the retina of several mammalian species, including humans. Although the TNAP activity pattern varies across species, we have observed the following trends: (1) in all investigated species (except golden hamster), retinal vessels display TNAP activity; (2) TNAP activity consistently occurs in the photoreceptor layer; (3) in majority of the investigated species, marked TNAP activity is present in the outer and inner plexiform layers. In zebrafish, frog, chicken, guinea pig, and rat, TNAP histochemistry has revealed several sublayers of the inner plexiform layer. Frog, golden hamster, guinea pig, mouse, and human retinas possess a subpopulation of amacrine cells positively staining for TNAP activity. The expression of TNAP in critical sites of retinal signal transmission across a wide range of species suggests its fundamental, evolutionally conserved role in vision.  相似文献

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have generated a great deal of promise as a potential source of cells for cell-based therapies. Various labeling techniques have been developed to trace MSC survival, migration, and behavior in vitro or in vivo. In the present study, we labeled MSCs derived from rat bone marrow (rMSCs) with florescent membrane dyes PKH67 and DiI, and with nuclear labeling using 5 μM BrdU and 10 μM BrdU. The cells were then cultured for 6 d or passaged (1–3 passages). The viability of rMSCs, efficacy of fluorescent expression, and transfer of the dyes were assessed. Intense fluorescence in rMSCs was found immediately after membrane labeling (99.3?±?1.6% PKH67+ and 98.4?±?1.7% DiI+) or after 2 d when tracing of nuclei was applied (91.2?±?4.6% 10 μM BrdU+ and 77.6?±?4.6% 5 μM BrdU+), which remained high for 6 d. Viability of labeled cells was 91?±?3.8% PKH67+, 90?±?1.5% DiI+, 91?±?0.8% 5 μM BrdU+, and 76.9?±?0.9% 10 μM BrdU+. The number of labeled rMSCs gradually decreased during the passages, with almost no BrdU+ nuclei left at final passage 3. Direct cocultures of labeled rMSCs (PKH67+ or DiI+) with unlabeled rMSCs revealed almost no dye transfer from donor to unlabeled recipient cells. Our results confirm that labeling of rMSCs with PKH67 or DiI represents a non-toxic, highly stable, and efficient method suitable for steady tracing of cells, while BrdU tracing is more appropriate for temporary labeling due to decreasing signal over time.  相似文献

Oxymatrine, one of the most active components of the ethanol extracts from Sophora flavescens, is known for its potent antitumor activity both in vitro and in vivo. However, the mechanism of its action in mediating the cell apoptosis remains elusive. In this study, we investigated the proliferation inhibitory and apoptotic activities of oxymatrine against human osteosarcoma MG-63 cells. The compound was found to markedly and dose-dependently inhibit the cell proliferation determined by 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine incorporation. Oxymatrine also induced the cell apoptosis in a dose- and time-dependent manner as showed by the annexin V-FITC/PI double staining and TUNEL assay. Furthermore, a disruption of mitochondrial membrane potential and an up-regulation of cleaved caspases-3, and-9 and downregulation of Bax/Bcl-2 was evidenced in the oxymatrine-treated cells. These proteins have been known to play a pivotal role in the regulation of apoptosis. In conclusion, these observations indicate of the oxymatrine potential as an effective antitumor agent against osteosarcoma. Moreover, the compound appears to exert its anti-tumor action by stimulating the caspase-triggered signaling pathway.  相似文献

The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) serves not only as an anchor for urokinase-type plasminogen activator but also participates in intracellular signal transduction events. In this study, we investigated whether uPAR could modulate TRAIL-induced apoptosis in human colon cancer cells HCT116. Using an antisense strategy, we established a stable HCT116 cell line with down-regulated uPAR. The sensitivity to TRAIL-induced apoptosis was evaluated by FACS analysis. Our results show that the inhibition of uPAR could sensitize HCT116 to TRAIL-induced apoptosis. uPAR inhibition changed the expression of mitochondrial apoptotic pathway proteins, including Bcl-2, Bax, Bid and p53, in a pro-apoptotic manner. We also found that the inhibition of uPAR down-regulated the phosphorylation of FAK, ERK and JNK. The inhibition of p53 by RNA interference rescued cells from enhanced apoptosis, thus indicating that p53 is critical for enhancing TRAIL-induced apoptosis. Furthermore, JNK, but not ERK, inhibition involved in the up-regulation of p53. JNK negatively regulated p53 protein level. Overall, our results show that uPAR inhibition can sensitize colon cancer cells HCT116 to TRAIL-induced apoptosis via active p53 and mitochondrial apoptotic pathways that JNK inhibition is involved.  相似文献

Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and paxillin are functionally linked hormonal- and mechano-sensitive proteins. We aimed to describe paxillin’s subcellular distribution using widefield and confocal immunofluorescence microscopy and test the hypothesis that FAK and paxillin colocalise in human skeletal muscle and its associated microvasculature. Percutaneous muscle biopsies were collected from the m. vastus lateralis of seven healthy males, and 5-μm cryosections were stained with anti-paxillin co-incubated with anti-dystrophin to identify the sarcolemma, anti-myosin heavy chain type I for fibre-type differentiation, anti-dihydropyridine receptor to identify T-tubules, lectin UEA-I to identify the endothelium of microvessels and anti-α-smooth muscle actin to identify vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). Colocalisation of anti-paxillin with anti-dystrophin or anti-FAK was quantified using Pearson’s correlation coefficient on confocal microscopy images. Paxillin was primarily present in (sub)sarcolemmal regions of skeletal muscle fibres where it colocalised with dystrophin (r = 0.414 ± 0.026). The (sub)sarcolemmal paxillin immunofluorescence intensity was ~2.4-fold higher than in sarcoplasmic regions (P < 0.001) with sarcoplasmic paxillin immunofluorescence intensity ~10 % higher in type I than in type II fibres (P < 0.01). In some longitudinally orientated fibres, paxillin formed striations that corresponded to the I-band region. Paxillin immunostaining was highest in endothelial and VSMC and distributed heterogeneously in both cell types. FAK and paxillin colocalised at (sub)sarcolemmal regions and within the microvasculature (r = 0.367 ± 0.036). The first images of paxillin in human skeletal muscle suggest paxillin is present in (sub)sarcolemmal and I-band regions of muscle fibres and within the microvascular endothelium and VSMC. Colocalisation of FAK and paxillin supports their suggested role in hormonal and mechano-sensitive signalling.  相似文献

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor. Recent data indicated miRNAs may be involved in the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma, suggesting some novel targets for therapy. It is known that miR-429 is down-regulated and functions as a tumor suppressor by targeting c-myc and PLGG1 in gastric and breast cancer. However, the exact role of miR-429 in osteosarcoma remained unknown. In our study, we found MiR-429 was down-regulated in primary osteosarcoma lesion and osteosarcoma cell lines. Moreover, MiR-429 can inhibit the proliferation of osteosarcoma cell lines and induce more cell apoptosis. Also, we discovered MiR-429 plays a role in osteosarcoma by binding the 3′UTR of zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) mRNA, and that overexpression of ZEB1 could reverse the proliferation, subsequently blocking effect of miR-429. In conclusion, miR-429 serves as a tumor suppressor via interaction with ZEB1. Our finding may provide a new target for osteosarcoma therapy.  相似文献

Transformer 2β (Tra2β), a member of the serine/arginine-rich-like protein family, is an important RNA-binding protein involved in alternative splice. Deregulation of Tra2β has been observed in several cancers. However, the detailed role of Tra2β in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been elucidated. In this study, the contribution of Tra2β to NSCLC development was investigated. On histological level, the expression of Tra2β was determined by Western and immunohistochemistry assays. It demonstrated that Tra2β was expressed higher in NSCLC tumor tissues compared with adjacent non-tumor tissues. In addition to confirm the association of Tra2β expression with histological differentiation and clinical stage (p < 0.05), we also confirmed significant positive correlation between the expression level of Tra2β and that of Ki67 (p < 0.05, r = 0.446) by Spearman rank correlation test. Moreover, high expression of Tra2β predicted poor prognosis by Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. And Tra2β among with other clinicopathologic variables was an independent prognostic indicator for patients’ overall survival by multivariate analysis. On cellular level, Tra2β expression was demonstrated to promote proliferation of NSCLC cells through a series of assays, including serum starvation and release assay, Western blot assay and flow cytometry analysis. Moreover, knockdown of Tra2β was confirmed to inhibit proliferation and to induce apoptosis of NSCLC cells through flow cytometry analysis, western analysis, cell counting kit-8 assay and Tunnel assay. Our results indicated that Tra2β was involved in the tumorigenesis of NSCLC and might be a potential therapeutic target of NSCLC.  相似文献

This study aims to investigate the mechanism by which resveratrol (RV) prevents sodium nitroprusside (SNP)-induced chondrocyte apoptosis, which is a characteristic feature of osteoarthritis (OA). Rabbit articular chondrocytes were pre-incubated with 100 μM RV for 18 h before 1.5 mM SNP co-treatment for 6 h. Cell viability was evaluated by CCK-8. Annexin V/PI double staining and Hoechst 33258 staining were used to determine the fashion of SNP-induced chondrocytes death. Mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) was measured by using flow cytometry (FCM) with TMRM and Rhodamine 123 staining. Intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) levels were confirmed by FCM analysis with DCFH-DA and DAF-FM DA staining. Cytoskeleton proteins of chondrocytes co-stained with Actin-Trakcer Green and Tubulin-Trakcer Red were validated by confocal microscopy. SNP induced time- and dose-dependent chondrocytes apoptosis with decline of ΔΨm, activation of caspases as well as cytoskeletal remodeling. SNP induced a significant induction of both ROS and NO. RV remarkably prevented SNP-induced ROS production and apoptosis as well as cytoskeletal remodeling, but did not prevent SNP-induced NO production. Pretreatment with NO scavengers did not significantly prevent SNP-induced apoptosis and cytoskeletal remodeling. SNP induces NO-independent ROS production which dominates rabbit articular chondrocyte apoptosis, and RV protects chondrocytes against SNP-induced apoptosis via scavenging ROS instead of NO.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the biological activity of rat dorsal root ganglion cell (DRGC) and human vascular endothelial cell (HMVEC) in mono- and co-culture. Expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) mRNA were measured by quantitative real-time RT-PCR (qRT-PCR). Western blot analysis was used to identify VEGF and NGF protein expressions. Cell injury was assessed by measuring cell viability with methylthiazol tetrazolium (MTT) assay. The results showed that VEGF and NGF mRNA levels in the HMVEC+DRGC group were significantly higher than those in the DRGC and HMVEC groups (all p < 0.05). There were also greater increases in both VEGF and NGF protein expressions in the HMVEC+DRGC group than those in the DRGC and HMVEC groups (all p < 0.05). The results of MTT analysis revealed significant differences in cell viability among the HMVEC+DRGC group and the DRGC and HMVEC groups (all p < 0.05). In summary, our findings provide evidence that DRGC and HMVEC in co-culture may exhibit greater biological activity than DRGC in mono-culture.  相似文献

Recent studies have evaluated the role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in mood disorders; however, little is known about alterations in nerve growth factor (NGF) and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). The aim of this study was to evaluate differences among serum neurotrophic factors (BDNF, NGF and GDNF) in depressed patients and healthy controls and to verify the association between serum neurotrophic levels and clinical characteristics in a young, depressed population stratified by gender. This is a cross-sectional study with depressed patients and population controls 18–29 years of age. The concentrations of neurotrophic factors were determined by the ELISA method. The diagnosis of depression and the duration of the disease were assessed by the Structured Clinical Interview according to the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders. Depression severity was measured with the 17-item Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression, and the severity of anxiety symptoms was measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale. Serum BDNF and GDNF were lower in major depressive disorder (MDD) patients compared to controls (p ≤ 0.001). Serum NGF levels were higher in MDD patients versus controls (p ≤ 0.001). BDNF was associated with the duration of disease only in women (p = 0.005). GDNF was not associated with clinical characteristics in either gender. In women, NGF was associated with the severity of depressive symptoms (p = 0.009), anxiety (p = 0.011) and disease duration (p = 0.005). NGF was associated with disease duration in men (p = 0.026). Our results demonstrated that significant neurochemical differences in NGF and BDNF, but not in GDNF, were associated with the clinical features of MDD when patients were stratified by gender.  相似文献

Cervical cancer, a gynaecological malignant disorder, is a common cause of death in females in Sub-Saharan Africa, striking nearly half a million of lives each year worldwide. Currently, more than 50 % of all modern drugs in clinical use are of natural products, many of which have an ability to control cancer cells (Madhuri and Pandey, Curr Sci 96:779–783, 2009; Richter, Traditional medicines and traditional healers in South Africa, 2003). In South Africa, plants used to treat cancer are rare even though majority of our population continue to put their trust in traditional medicine. In this study we aimed to screen Agave palmeri (AG) and Tulbaghia violacea (TV) for potential role in inducing cell death in cervical cancer cell lines HeLa and ME-180, and in normal human fibroblast cell line KMST-6 cell lines. To achieve this, AG and TV crude extracts were utilized to screen for apoptosis induction, inhibition of cell proliferation followed by elucidation of the role of Bax, Bcl-2, p53, Rb, RBBP and Mdm2 genes in cervical cancer. In brief, plant leaves and roots were collected, crushed and methanolic extracts obtained. Different concentrations of the stock extracts were used to treat cancer cells and measure cell death using the [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide] assay and flow cytometry. Western blot was applied to measure gene expression at protein level using RBBP6, p53, Mdm2, Rb, Bax, Bcl-2 and β-actin mouse monoclonal primary antibodies (IgG) and goat anti mouse coupled with horseradish peroxidase secondary antibody from Santa Cruz Biotechnology and real time-PCR was used for mRNA expression level. Plant extracts of AG and TV were time (24 h) and dose (50, 100, 150 μg/ml) dependent in their induction of cell death with an IC50 ~ 150 μg/ml. A further mixed respond by several genes was observed following treatment with the two plant extracts where RBBP6 was seen to be spliced in cancer cells while Bax was induced and Bcl-2 was inhibited with the levels of p53 remaining the same. The two plant extracts do induce cell death, in a p53 independent manner.  相似文献

Chondrocyte death and loss of extracellular matrix are the central features in articular cartilage degeneration during osteoarthritis pathogenesis. Cartilage diseases and, in particular, osteoarthritis are widely correlated to apoptosis but, chondrocytes undergoing apoptosis “in vivo” more often display peculiar features that correspond to a distinct process of programmed cell death termed “chondroptosis”. Programmed cell death of primary human chondrocyte has been here investigated in micromasses, a tridimensional culture model, that represents a convenient means for studying chondrocyte biology. Cell death has been induced by different physical or chemical apoptotic agents, such as UVB radiation, hyperthermia and staurosporine delivered at both 1 and 3 weeks maturation. Conventional electron microscopy was used to analyse morphological changes. Occurrence of DNA fragmentation and caspase involvement were also investigated. At Transmission Electron Microscopy, control cells appear rounding or slightly elongated with plurilobated nucleus and diffusely dispersed chromatin. Typically UVB radiation and staurosporine induce chromatin apoptotic features, while hyperthermia triggers the “chondroptotic” phenotype. A weak TUNEL positivity appears in control, correlated to the well known cell death patterns occurring along cartilage differentiation. UVB radiation produces a strong positivity, mostly localized at the micromass periphery. After hyperthermia a higher number of fluorescent nuclei appears, in particular at 3 weeks. Staurosporine evidences a diffuse, but reduced, positivity. Therefore, DNA fragmentation is a common pattern in dying chondrocytes, both in apoptotic and “chondroptotic” cells. Moreover, all triggers induce caspase pathway activation, even if to a different extent, suggesting a fundamental role of apoptotic features, in chondrocyte cell death.  相似文献
