Abstract This paper deals with a new species of Iowana Hottes, Icrwana zhangi, sp. nov. in China. This new species is closely related to J. frisoni, but differs from the latter in the shape of cauda, length of processus terminalis, length of ultimate rostral segment, and as well as in having smooth siphunculi, having 6‐segmented antennae and primary rhinarium with accessory rhinaria on the ultimate antennal segment. All the type specimens of this new species, collected from Heilongjiang Province, are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. Iowana Hottes is a new record genus to China.  相似文献

SYNOPSIS. The gregarine order Archigregarinorida is redefined. The new family Selenidioididae is established in it, containing the genera Selenidioides n. g. with 11 species, Meroselenidium with 1 and Merogregarina with 1. The new family Exoschizonidae is also established in it, with 1 genus, Exoschizon, containing 1 species. The family Selenidiidae is transferred to the order Eugregarinorida in a new superfamily, Lecudinicae, and redefined to exclude the presence of merogony. As redefined, the family Selenidiidae contains the genera Selenidium with 33 species, Selenocystis with 1 and Ditrypanocystis with 2. The following new species are named: Selenidioides fanthami, S. hawesi, Selenidium mackinnonae, S. martinensis, S. rayi, Ditrypanocystis coxi. The following new combinations are introduced: Selenidioides axiferens, S. caulleryi, S. giganteum, S. hollandei, S. intraepitheliale, S. mesnili, S. metchnikovi, S. potamillae, S. sipunculi, Selenidium synaptae. In addition, the septate form from Cirratulus cirratus that was named Polyrhabdina cirratulus by Bogolepova (2) is renamed P. bogolepovae n. sp.  相似文献

Summary The genus Sennertia Oudemans, 1905 (Acari, Chaetodactylidae) is revised. Up to now, 49 species have been described in this genus, almost all from their hypopial stage. Adults are known only for four species. The adults live in the nests of bees, mainly Xylocopidae, and their heteromorphic deutonymphs ( = hypopi) are phoretic on the bees. The parasitic role of these mites is not known but they probably feed on the bee larvae as do the members of the allied genus Chaetodactylus wich are parasitic in the nests of Megachilidae. The holotypes or lectotypes of 35 species have been examined and most of them are redescribed and redepicted. Four species have been placed in synonymy: S. moandensis Fain, 1971 with S. morstatti Vitzthum, 1914; S. xylocopae (Donnadieu, 1868) with S. cerambycina (Scopoli, 1763); S. sumatrensis Oudemans, 1924 with S. horrida (Vitzthum, 1912); S. donaldi Turk, 1948 with S. argentina Vitzthum, 1941. The genus Sennertia is redefined from the hypopial stage and four new subgenera (Afrosennertia, Asiosennertia, Amsennertia and Spinosennertia) and two new species S. (Asiosennertia) vitzthumi and S. (Asiosennertia delfinadoae) are described. A key to the species is given. ac]19810331  相似文献

A new chigger mite species, Schoutedenichia microcebi n. sp. is described from the grey mouse lemur Microcebus murinus (J.F. Miller) from Madagascar. The new species is closely related to S. dutoiti (Radford, 1948), a species described from a single specimen collected on a rodent in South Africa. Examination of the holotype and new material on S. dutoiti from South Africa enabled us to re-describe this species and provide new data on its hosts and geographical distribution.

A morphogenetic investigation was made of the rhizophore of three large-sized tropical Selaginella species. The rhizophores of Selaginella delicatula, S. caudata, and S. plana arise exogenously at the points of branching of the main stems. In S. delicatula they are initiated at the junction of the second youngest branching. The rhizophore apical meristem has a tetrahedral apical cell and is capless. The rhizophores are usually three or four times dichotomously branched in S. delicatula and S. plana and four or five times in S. caudata. In S. delicatula, dichotomous branching of the rhizophore involves formation of two new apical cells subsequent to loss of an original apical cell. A pair of roots is formed endogenously from inner cells below the dermal layer at the apex of ultimate rhizophore branches. The finding that the rhizophore is an autonomously branched, leafless, and capless axis leads us to argue that Selaginella rhizophores, like lepidodendrid rhizomorphs, are fundamental axial organs that coordinate with the stem and root.  相似文献

Cooperative social life originated independently at least 3 times in the eresid spider genus Stegodyphus. The ultimate and proximate factors for sociogenesis have been analyzed in two African social species, S. dumicola and S. mimosarum.
  • 1 More profitable hunting as the ultimate benefit of sociality can explain group sizes up to 30 individuals. Most groups are much larger, reducing average female fecundity. They benefit mainly from the shelter against predators provided by the compact silk nest as a heritable resource.
  • 2 Sociogenesis is not based on extended maternal care but on interattraction and tolerance of juvenile spiders, retained throughout life in females. Their neotenic sociality came to overlap with advanced (pedomorphic) sexual maturity. This evolutionary pathway towards sociality is called the “sibling-route”.
  • 3 Negative side effects, accumulating with group size, may make sociality in Stegodyphus evolutionarily unstable.

A new calanoid copepod species Scaphocalanus emine n. sp. is described for the first time from the Iskenderun Bay, northeastern Levantine Basin. S. emine is similar to S. affinis (Sars, 1905) having both identical orientation of the posterolateral corners of the cephalothorax and a median crest on the forehead. The new species is also similar in some features to S. affinis in the structure of Re1P1- lacking the outer marginal spine and by the presence of the rounded apex on the distal internal margin. It differs from S. affinis as the median crest on the forehead is smaller and due to the presence of a rudimentary endopod furnished with an apical spine on the P5. Originality in construction of the P1 and P5 distinguish the new species from other Scaphocalanus species.  相似文献

Sinningia lutea (Gesneriaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from the Pampa Biome, in Southern Brazil. In the literature, this species has hitherto been confused with S. allagophylla from which it can be easily separated using a set of floral and vegetative features (especially corolla color and size and leaf shape). An artificial key to separate S. lutea from S. allagophylla and S. curtiflora (another sympatric species, with some morphological similarities) is presented. Some ecological remarks on the differential distribution of S. lutea and S. allagophylla are also made.  相似文献

The new species Semenovia pulvinata Pimenov & Kljuykov, S. dissectifolia Ukrainskaja & Kljuykov, S. imbricata Ukrainskaja & Kljuykov, and S. vachanica Ukrainskaja & Kljuykov from the mountains of Pamiro‐Alai, Tajikistan and adjacent Afghanistan, are described and illustrated. For the Chinese species S. millefolia (Diels) V. M.Vinogr. & Kamelin, also known as Heracleum millefolium Diels, the correct name is S. torilifolia (H. Boissieu) Pimenov comb. nov. based on Peucedanum torilifolium H. Boissieu. For another closely related Chinese species, Peucedanum malcolmii Hemsl. & H. Pearson, also belonging to Semenovia, the new combination S. malcolmii (Hemsl. & H. Pearson) Pimenov is proposed. Heracleum thomsonii C. B. Clarke var. glabrior C. B. Clarke from Kashmir (Ladakh) is regarded as an independent species of Semenovia, S. glabrior (C. B. Clarke) Pimenov & Kljuykov.  相似文献

In a survey on heterostigmatic mites (Acari: Prostigmata: Heterostigmata) associated with insects including ants in northwestern Iran, two new species of myrmecophilous mites of the genus Scutacarus (Acari: Scutacaridae) were found. They are S. shajariani sp. nov. phoretic on Tetramorium sp. (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) and S. ebermanni sp. nov. phoretic on Messor sp. The mentioned new species belong to groups of species with reduced setae e and h2, and no setae 4b, respectively. These two new species are described and illustrated, and world keys are provided for respective species groups.  相似文献

As the eighth part in a series on the family Lecithoceridae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea) from New Guinea, Sulciolus Park, gen. nov. of the subfamily Lecithocerinae is described, based on the type species, S. pachystoma (Diakonoff), comb. nov., with two additional new species: (i) S. circulivalvae sp. nov.; and (ii) S. kaindiana sp. nov. The new genus shares with Achroa Meyrick, Onnuria Park, Hamatina Park and Scolizona Park a uniquely specialized 3rd segment of labial palpus, but it is differentiated from them by having a longitudinal furrow on the inner surface of the segment. Sulciolus abrasa (Diakonoff), S. capra (Diakonoff), S. induta (Diakonoff) and S. perspicua (Diakonoff) are newly combined, and Lecithocera sextacta Diakonoff is synonymized with S. perspicua (Diakonoff). Keys to genera related to Lecithocera and to species of the genus are given. Adults, labial palpi, wing venations and male genitalia are illustrated.  相似文献

Three species of the genus Cacopsylla were collected from Sorbus japonica in Japan. Two of them, Cacopsylla elegans and Cacopsylla sorbicoccinea, are described as new species based on adults and fifth (final) nymphal instars. The third species, Cacopsylla midoriae, is newly transferred from the genus Psylla. The adult of C. midoriae is redescribed and the nymph is described for the first time. A key to the species feeding on S. japonica (adults and nymphs) is provided. The three species were observed to coexist on the same tree of S. japonica in northern Kyushu. Such coexistence of psylloid congeners is uncommon in Japan.  相似文献

The closely related genera Carestiella, Schizoxylon and Stictis (Stictidaceae, Ostropales, Ascomycota) are revised in northern Scandinavia, and a revised phylogenetic hypothesis, including all seven species of this group in the area, is presented. A key to the species of Stictis s. lat. (including Carestiella, Schizoxylon and Stictis) in Northern Scandinavia is presented. S. albescens and S. confusum are described as new to science, and the new name S. brunnescens is introduced for S. mollis ssp. populorum, when treated as a distinct species. C. socia and S. albescens are the only representatives of their genera in northern Scandinavia, but a total of five species of Stictis are present in the area (S. brunnescens, S. confusum, S. mollis, S. populorum and S. radiata). Substantial within-species variation in ascoma morphology and wall pigmentation is revealed and discussed, and found to correlate with fungal lifestyles; optional lichenization apparently affects several details in fungal anatomy and morphology.  相似文献

The Synura petersenii species complex represents a common, cosmopolitan and highly diverse taxon of autotrophic freshwater flagellates. In this paper, we describe and characterize four new species (S. borealis, S. heteropora, S. hibernica and S. laticarina) that have been identified during our extensive sampling of freshwater habitats in 15 European countries. Morphometric analyses of siliceous scales led to the significant phenotypic differentiation of all four newly described species, and their separation from other related species of the S. petersenii complex. Two of these newly described species (S. hibernica and S. borealis) can be clearly distinguished by characteristic large colonies consisting of elongated, lanceolate-shaped cells. Development of strongly elongated, narrow cells in S. hibernica could be explained by the adaptation of this species to oligotrophic conditions. Though morphologically distinct, S. borealis possesses an exceptionally high degree of genetic diversity, possibly indicating recent speciation and evolutionary diversification within this taxon. Three of the four newly described species exhibit restricted biogeographic distribution. The evolutionarily related S. borealis and S. laticarina occur only in Northern Europe, and seem to be adapted to colder areas. The most remarkable distribution pattern was observed for S. hibernica, which has a geographic distribution that is restricted to western Ireland.  相似文献
