This work reports a part of hydroponic experiment results concerning changes in Salix viminalis L. cv. ‘Cannabina’ morphology and physiology under stress conditions with different copper concentration levels and verifies our earlier results about the role of different Ca/Mg ratios in trace elements’ accumulation efficiency. In this part, we present the copper accumulation and changes in willow biomass. Concentration of copper in roots, rods, shoots and leaves was analyzed with flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Selected indices characterizing copper accumulation and plant biomass structure were calculated to estimate the potential of willow to remove metal from polluted solution. Our results indicate a general increase of copper accumulation by selected willow organs with increase of copper concentration in modified Knop’s medium. Moreover, significant differences in copper phytoextraction between plants under different Ca/Mg ratios were affirmed (1:10 > 4:1 > 20:1 > 1:1/4).  相似文献

The levels of essential (Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cr, Cu, and Co) and non-essential (Cd and Pb) metal in six different varieties of Ethiopian khat (Catha edulis Forsk, an evergreen stimulant plant) commonly consumed in the country and exported to the neighboring countries were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Known weight of oven-dried khat samples were wet-digested using 2 mL of (69–72%) HNO3 and 2 mL of (70%) HClO4 for 2 h and 30 min at variable temperature (120–270°C). The mineral contents in the digests were analyzed using flame atomic absorption spectrometer. The following concentrations ranges in fresh-weight basis were recorded in decreasing order: Ca (1,038–2,173 µg/g)?>?Mg (478.2–812.3 µg/g)?>?Fe (53.95–82.83 µg/g)?>?Zn (5.18–9.40 µg/g)?>?Mn (6.98–8.66 µg/g)?>?Cu (1.85–5.53 µg/g)?>?Cr (0.66–3.47 µg/g)?>?Co (0.41–0.80 µg/g). A wide variation in the mineral contents of khat from different region of Ethiopia was noticed. The toxic metals (Pb and Cd) were not detected in all the samples analyzed.  相似文献

The potential suitability of Eucalyptus camaldulensis for Cd phytoextraction was tested in a hydroponic study. Saplings were exposed to 4.5 and 89 μM Cd for one month, with and without EDTA and s,s-EDDS at 0.1, 1, and 5 mM. The saplings’ growth was not affected at the 4.5 μM Cd concentration, yet it decreased 3-fold at 89 μM, and almost all the Cd taken up was immobilized in the roots, reaching 360 and 5300 mg Cd kg?1, respectively (approximately 75% of which was non-washable in acid). The respective Cd root-to-shoot translocation factors were 0.14 and ≈5*10?4. At 0.1 mM concentration, EDTA and EDDS had no effect or even a positive effect on the saplings growth. This was reversed at 1 mM, and the chelants became lethal at the 5 mM concentration. At 89 μM Cd in the growth medium, 0.1 mM EDTA increased Cd translocation into the shoots by almost 10-fold, however it strongly reduced Cd content inside the roots. This hydroponic study indicates the feasibility of E. camaldulensis use for cleanup Cd-contaminated soils at environmental concentrations, both for site stabilization (phytostabilization) and gradual remediation (phytoextraction). EDTA was shown to be much more efficient in enhancing Cd translocation than s,s-EDDS.  相似文献

In this pot experiment, cucumbers (Cucumis sativus L.) were grown in a model soil contaminated by three different concentrations of cadmium (40, 160, and 320 mg.kg?1) with different accompanied anions (Cl?, SO4 2?). In all variants, the most Cd (90 %) was accumulated in the roots, but higher content in the case of Cl?. The distribution of Cd in various cucumber organs was as follows: root > stem > leaf > fruits. However, in variants with higher doses of Cd with SO4 2?, the ratio was changed as follows: root > leaf > stem > fruits. In all variants, least of Cd (max. 1 %) was found in fruits. Variants with the highest Cd doses were significantly different by comparison with all other variants, but higher content was in the case of Cl? anion. Stimulation effect on the biomass production and growth of aerial parts and roots of plants in all variants with Cd was observed. Toxicity symptoms, mainly in the presence of leaf chlorosis and yellowing, were more visible in the variants with Cl?, in comparison with SO4 2?. The amounts of phenol compounds in leaves rose almost in all variants. Only the variants with higher Cd content with SO4 2? showed slight reduction. One possible explanation of reduced content may be their bounding on Cd. The content of salicylic acid was reduced in all variants with Cd treatment. However, it is difficult to conclude their role in plant defence responses to heavy metal, because their actual defence mechanism is still unclear. However, from these results, we can suggest that the accompanying anion and the form in which Cd exists may have an impact on the involvement of various antioxidant systems.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to the assess the influence of Ca/Mg ions ratio on the photosynthetic activity of Salix viminalis L. ??Cannabina?? plants cultivated in medium enriched with Cu(NO3)2. The experiment was conducted in controlled conditions in a phytotron for 21 days; hence the early plant response was tested. Plants were cultivated with different Ca/Mg ions ratios, i.e. (4:1)l, (4:1)h, and 1:10. Plants were additionally treated with Cu(NO3)2 at 1, 2, and 3 mM concentration in cultivation medium. Net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance and transpiration were measured after the first, second and third week of cultivation. Additionally, chlorophyll content, leaf morphology, root biomass and copper accumulation in leaves and roots were investigated. The investigations revealed differences in plant response to particular treatments ?? differences in Cu accumulation for particular Ca/Mg ions ratios were detected. It seems that plants are adapted to high Cu2+ concentrations, when 1:10 Ca/Mg ions ratio is applied. The highest Cu accumulation in roots was noted for plants fertilized with 1:10 Ca/Mg ions ratio, together with high Cu translocation to above-ground plant organs, which suggests its higher potential in phytoremediation.  相似文献

Common reed (Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud.) plants were harvested from four natural water ecosystems of the Bogdanka river catchment (Poznań, Poland) four times throughout the 2014 vegetative season. Over the year, average metal contents followed different decreasing trends according to the analyzed tissue: Zn > Cu ≈ Pb > Cd (rhizomes) and Zn > Pb > Cu > Cd (leaves), and mean translocation ratios (leaves/rhizomes) were found as follows: 0.93, 0.70, 0.65, 0.40 for Zn, Pb, Cd and Cu, respectively. Metal content increased gradually during the growing season, and in the case of Cu, Cd and Pb exceeded the upper limit of average concentration detected in plants from natural ecosystems. However, the content of salicylic acid did not follow the increase of metal accumulation. In rhizomes, the highest production of the metabolite was observed in May and reached 324 ng g?1 fresh weight (FW) (mean value). Afterwards, a significant drop to 50 ng g?1 FW was observed. Simultaneously, the highest values of total salicylic acid in P. australis leaves were observed in July and accompanied the intensive development of the aboveground biomass of the plant (11.3 µg g?1 FW–mean value). Subsequently, its content in leaves showed a significant decrease down to 2.1 µg g?1 FW in November. Multivariate regression analysis revealed significant interactions between analyzed metals influencing the plant response to metal-derived stress. Cu and Zn showed antagonistic properties considering their uptake and the induction of salicylic acid biosynthesis, whereas non-essential metals (Pb and Cd) acted similarly and stimulated the formation of salicylic acid glucoside.  相似文献

Concentrations of four metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, and Cd) in the sediments of the Anzali Lagoon in the northern part of Iran were determined to evaluate the level of contamination and spatial distribution. The sediments were collected from 21 locations in the lagoon. At each lagoon site a core, 60 cm long, was taken. The ranges of the measured concentrations in the sediments are as follows: 17–140 mg kg?1 for Cu, 20–113 mg kg?1 for Zn, 1–37 mg kg?1 for Pb and 0.1–3.5 mg kg?1 for Cd in surficial (0-20 cm) and 16–87 mg kg?1 for Cu, 28.5–118 mg kg?1 for Zn, 3–20 mg kg?1 for Pb and 0.1–3.5 mg kg?1 for Cd in deep (40–60 cm) sediments. The results of the geoaccumulation index (Igeo) show that Cd causes moderate to heavy pollution in most of the study area. Environmental risk evaluation showed that the pollution in the Anzali Lagoon is moderate to considerable and the ranking of the contaminants followed the order: Cd > Cu > Pb > Zn. Some locations present severe pollution by metals depending on the sources, of which sewage outlets and phosphate fertilizers are the main sources of contaminants to the area.  相似文献

Wine consumption delivers macroelements and microelements necessary for the proper metabolism. On the other hand, wine can be an important source of toxic metals. The aim of this study was to estimate the concentrations of Ca, Cd, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mg, Ni, Pb, and Zn in the Slovak and non-Slovak wines. The concentration of metals was evaluated with respect to the type, the alcohol content, and the age of Slovak wine. The general scheme of concentrations found was as follows Ca > Mg > Fe > Zn > Pb > Cd > Ni > Cu > Hg. The type of wine and the alcohol content do not have a significant impact on metal concentrations. Also, the age of wine has no influence on the mean concentration of metals, except for Zn. Metal concentrations in Slovak and non-Slovak wines indicate similar contents of metals, except for Ni. The contribution to both dietary reference values (DRVs) and provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) evaluations in the Slovak wine suggested low dietary exposure to Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Ni, Zn, Cd, Hg, and Pb, respectively. However, we do not suggest that the consumption of all Slovak wines is healthy. The maximum Pb concentrations in Slovak wines exceed the maximum permitted level proposed by the European Commission. This might be proved by the results of the margin of the exposure (MOE) value evaluation in the samples containing the maximum Pb concentrations, showing a high risk of CKD and SBP in high and extreme consumption groups.  相似文献

Phytoremediation and its efficiency--influenced by several factors-is prime concern in reduction of environment contamination with heavy metals. The aim of the study was to estimate in controlled conditions--in relation to the natural Ca/Mg ratio 4:1--the influence of different Ca/Mg ratios (1:1/4, 20:1, 1:10) on selected heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) accumulation efficiency shown by three morphological parts of Salix viminalis 'Cinamomea' (cane bark, shoots and roots). Accumulation of heavy metals in experimental conditions was significantly Ca/Mg ratio dependent, and occurred in the following order: 1:10 > 4:1 > 20:1 > 1:1/4. The highest accumulation under 0.5 mM solutions (as compared to 0.1 mM) was noted for copper and zinc, and the lowest for cadmium. Biometric parameters of Salix viminalis cuttings revealed the highest biomass productivity under 20:1 and 4:1 Ca/Mg ratios. In the case of shoot length increase, both metal concentration and kind of metal present in the solution were important. The results indicate that higher calcium ion concentration in solution (Ca/Mg 20:1) stimulates Salix viminalis growth by 3 fold when compared to other Ca/Mg ratio. It can be an important factor in remediation of the environment with this plant.  相似文献

Nickel (Ni) phytoextraction using hyperaccumulator plant species to accumulate Ni from mineralized and contaminated soils rich in Ni is undergoing commercial development. Serpentinite derived soils have a very low ratio of Ca/Mg among soils due the nature of the parent rock. In crop plants, soil Ca reduces Ni uptake and phytotoxicity, so it is possible that the low Ca of serpentine soils could limit hyperaccumulator plant tolerance of serpentine soils used for commercial phytomining. In this study, we investigated the effects of varied Ca concentration in the presence of high Mg characteristic of serpentine soils on Ni uptake and tolerance by serpentine-endemic species Alyssum murale Waldst. et Kit. and A. pintodasilvae T.R. Dudley in comparison with cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capita) in a nutrient solution study. The levels of Ca and Mg used were based on serpentine and normal soils, and Ni was based on achieving over 1% Ni in Alyssum shoots in preliminary tests. Varied solution concentrations of Ni (31.6–1,000 μM for Alyssum, 1.0–10 μM for cabbage) and Ca (0.128–5 mM) were used in a factorial experimental design; 2 mM Mg was used to mimic serpentine soils. Alyssum spp. showed much greater tolerance to high Ni, high Mg, and low Ca solution concentrations than cabbage. For Alyssum spp., Ni induced phytotoxicity was only apparent at 1,000 μM Ni with relatively low and high Ca/Mg quotient. In the 1,000 μM Ni treatment, shoot Ni concentrations ranged from 8.18 to 22.8 g kg?1 for A. murale and 7.60 to 16.0 g kg?1 for A. pintodasilvae. Normal solution Ca concentrations (0.8–2 mM) gave the best yield across all Ni treatments for the Alyssum species tested. It was clear that solution Ca levels affected shoot Ni concentration, shoot yield and Ni translocation from root to shoot, but the relation was non-linear, increasing with increasing Ca up to 2 mM Ca, then declining at the highest Ca. Our results indicate that Ca addition to high Mg serpentine soils with very low Ca/Mg ratio may reduce Ni phytotoxicity and improve annual Ni phytoextraction by Alyssum hyperaccumulator species. Removal of shoot biomass in phytomining will require Ca application to maintain full yield potential.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of different chromium (CrVI) treatments on seedlings of semi-aquatic plant Barringtonia acutangula, hydroponic experiments were conducted. Results revealed that B. acutangula could tolerate much higher CrVI concentration accumulated about 751–2,703 mg kg?1 dry weight in roots and 50–1,101 mg kg?1 dry weight in shoots, respectively, under 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 mM chromium treatments. CrVI exposure at 1.0–4.0 mM does not exhibit toxicity signs; however, up to 4.0 mM CrVI exposure causes significant decline in growth parameters. Content of macronutrients such as Ca and K decreased under different Cr treatments in roots and shoots, while Mg content of roots and shoots did not influence at the range of 1.0–4.0 mM Cr; however, significant decrease at 5.0 mM Cr, besides P content, significantly shows increasing trends, respectively. Interestingly, sulfur content of roots and shoots show increasing trends at 1.0–2.0 mM Cr; however, severe decrease of up to 3.0–5.0 mM is shown in CrVI treatments. Furthermore, micronutrients content were enhanced under CrVI treatments excluding Cu and Fe since they show significant reduction in shoots as well as in roots. Bioaccumulation factor were also calculated on the basis of results obtained which shows the value of >1 without viewing chromium toxicity symptoms. This study demonstrated that B. acutangula could tolerate CrVI concentrations up to 1.0–4.0 mM Cr which may be useful in chromium phytoremediation programs.  相似文献

To improve micropropagation and acclimatization of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), we evaluated the effects of media volume, plant density, macronutrient ion concentrations, cationic ratios [NH4 +]/[K+], and sucrose concentration. Multiplication was highest with low bud density. Yield of new plants was highest with high bud density, the most sucrose, the highest concentration of macronutrients, and the greatest volume of medium. However, maximum plant size required low-density, reduced sucrose and elimination of NH4 +. The largest plants grew quickest during greenhouse acclimatization when macronutrients were lowered to 20 mM. In a follow-up experiment, media volume was set at 40 mL with 5% sucrose with NH4 + reduced to 5 mM, and the effects of varying P, Ca, Mg, KNO3, and bud densities were assessed. The largest plants were produced at low density. More importantly, at high density the optimal concentrations of P, Ca, Mg, and KNO3 predicted plant size that was nearly equal to the maximum value from low-density cultures in the prior experiment. Growth of plants during greenhouse acclimatization was increased by modifications of in vitro medium with plants cultured with 3.32 mM P, 4.5 mM Mg, and 37 mM KNO3 predicted to grow most rapidly. The effect of starter fertilizer in the greenhouse mix was much less than the effects of P, Mg, and KNO3 in vitro. These results showed (1) optimal media formulae for different stages of micropropagation and (2) process-related factors such as plant density and media volume affected the optimal nutrient concentrations.  相似文献

The characterization of indoor (a naturally ventilated office) and outdoor (adjacent courtyard) metals in PM2.5 during a winter period in Xi'an, China were carried out. The results indicated that the average mass concentrations of PM2.5 in indoor and outdoor environments all exceeded the daily average limit of 75 µg m–3 set by the Chinese government. The dominant metals in PM2.5 were Ca, Al, Zn, Mg, Fe, and Pb in both indoor and outdoor air. Concentration of As was much higher than the standard of 6 ng m–3 issued by the government. Enrichment factor analysis showed that anthropogenic emissions might be the primary sources of As, Cd, Pb, and Zn, while crust was the main origin of Co. A majority of indoor-to-outdoor concentration ratios of metal were lower than 1 indicating mostly the contribution of outdoor sources rather than indoor ones. As and Cr in both indoor and outdoor air posed the highest noncarcinogenic and carcinogenic risks, respectively. The noncarcinogenic and carcinogenic risks were 2.74 and 2.54 × 10?4 indoor and 4.04 and 3.87 × 10?4 outdoor, which suggested that possible adverse health effects should be of concern.  相似文献

The effect of NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (14:1, 9:6, 7.5:7.5, 1:14, total 15 mmol/L N) in the nutrient solution on biomass, root morphology, and C and N metabolism parameter in hydroponically grown oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) was evaluated. The dry weights of leaves and roots were significantly largest at the equal NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (7.5:7.5) compared with those of high NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (14:1) or low NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (1:14). Additionally, low NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (1:14) reduced total root length and root surface area compared with the equal NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (7.5:7.5), while high NO3 ?:NH4 + ratio (14:1) did not show any significant effect on root morphology except average diameter. The maximum of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid were obtained under 7.5:7.5 treatment, whereas the maximum of the leaf net photosynthetic (P n), stomatal conductance (G s) and transpiration rate (T r) were increased with increase in NH4 + concentration in the nutrient solution. The activity of nitrate reductase (NR) showed a significant difference at different NO3 ?:NH4 + ratios and ranged 9:6 > 7.5:7.5 > 14:1 > 1:14, whereas the range of soluble sugar and soluble protein was 7.5:7.5 > 1:14 > 9:6 > 14:1. Our study reveals that oilseed rape growth is greater under 7.5:7.5 treatment than that under three other treatments. Oilseed rape growth at high or low NO3 ?:NH4 + ratios was inhibited by decreased pigments, NR activity, soluble sugar, and soluble protein, whereas subdued root growth should be apprehended considerate under high NH4 + condition.  相似文献

This research was conducted to assess the contamination of heavy metals in the water, sediment, aquatic plants and animals around a municipal landfill. The heavy metals were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The concentrations of cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), and lead (Pb) in water and sediment were Not detected (ND), 0.05 ± 0.98, and 0.02 ± 0.01 mg/L; and 0.47 ± 0.23, 18.65 ± 11.39, and 5.36 ± 2.08 mg/kg, respectively. A total of 24 aquatic plants from 4 species were collected from the municipal landfill. Cd concentrations in all plant species were within the standard, while Cr and Pb exceeded the standard. Forty-four fish from 4 species, 29 freshwater snails from 3 species, 10 freshwater prawns from 1 species, and 9 freshwater crabs from 1 species were collected. Cd and Cr concentrations in 2 species of fish samples exceeded the standard and Pb concentration in all fish species exceeded the standard. Cd and Pb concentrations in all freshwater snails were within the standard, except Cr. Meanwhile, Cd and Pb in freshwater prawns and snails were within the standard, except Cr. Five species of frogs were collected. Cd and Cr concentrations in 2 species exceeded the standard. Pb concentrations in all frog species exceeded the standard. The pattern of metal accumulation was fish > frogs > freshwater snails > freshwater prawns = freshwater crab (Cd), freshwater prawn > frogs > freshwater crab = freshwater snail > fish (Cr), and freshwater prawn > fish > frogs > freshwater snail > freshwater crab (Pb).  相似文献

DIDS, NPPB, tannic acid (TA) and AO1 are widely used inhibitors of Cl channels. Some Cl channel inhibitors (NPPB, DIDS, niflumic acid) were shown to affect phosphatidylserine (PS) scrambling and, thus, the life span of human red blood cells (hRBCs). Since a number of publications suggest Ca2+ dependence of PS scrambling, we explored whether inhibitors of Cl channels (DIDS, NPPB) or of Ca2+-activated Cl? channels (DIDS, NPPB, TA, AO1) modified intracellular free Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) and activity of Ca2+-activated K+ (Gardos) channel in hRBCs. According to Fluo-3 fluorescence in flow cytometry, a short treatment (15 min, +37 °C) with Cl? channels inhibitors decreased [Ca2+]i in the following order: TA > AO1 > DIDS > NPPB. According to forward scatter, the decrease of [Ca2+]i was accompanied by a slight but significant increase in cell volume following DIDS, NPPB and AO1 treatments. TA treatment resulted in cell shrinkage. According to whole-cell patch-clamp experiments, TA activated and NPPB and AO1 inhibited Gardos channels. The Cl channel blockers further modified the alterations of [Ca2+]i following ATP depletion (glucose deprivation, iodoacetic acid, 6-inosine), oxidative stress (1 mM t-BHP) and treatment with Ca2+ ionophore ionomycin (1 μM). The ability of the Cl? channel inhibitors to modulate PS scrambling did not correlate with their influence on [Ca2+]i as TA and AO1 had a particularly strong decreasing effect on [Ca2+]i but at the same time enhanced PS exposure. In conclusion, Cl channel inhibitors affect Gardos channels, influence Ca2+ homeostasis and induce PS exposure of hRBCs by Ca2+-independent mechanisms.  相似文献

The effects of sodium nitroprusside (SNP, a donor of NO) on cadmium (Cd) toxicity in lettuce seedlings were studied. SNP was added into hydroponic systems or sprayed directly on the leaves of plants grown with and without Cd. Excess supply of Cd (100 μM) caused growth inhibition, dramatically increased Cd accumulation in both leaves and roots, and inhibited the absorption of Ca, Mg, Fe and Cu. Excess Cd also decreased activities of superoxide dismutase peroxidase and catalase in leaves and roots, and increased the accumulation of superoxide anion (O 2 ·? ), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and malondialdehyde (MDA). Root or foliar applications of exogenous NO alleviated Cd-induced growth suppression, especially root application of 250 μM SNP and foliar addition of 500 μM SNP. Addition of SNP promoted the chlorophyll synthesis suggesting that the photosynthesis was up-regulated. Exogenous NO increased Cd-decreased activities of antioxidant enzymes and markedly diminished Cd-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) and MDA accumulation. Moreover, the absorption of Ca, Mg, Fe and Cu was increased, indicating that exogenous NO stimulated H+-ATPase activity to promote sequestration or uptake of ions. In addition, exogenous NO also inhibited Cd transfer from roots to shoots, which may indicate that Cd retention in roots induced by NO plays a significant role in Cd tolerance in lettuce seedlings. These data suggest that under Cd stress, exogenous NO improves photosynthesis by increasing chlorophyll synthesis, protects lettuce seedlings against oxidative damage by scavenging ROS, helps to maintain the uptake of nutrient elements, and inhibits Cd transferred to shoots effectively.  相似文献

Biochar is an organic amendment used for soil remediation, there are only a few studies documenting the effects of nitrogen on the role of biochar in contaminated soils. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the impacts of biochar (0%, 1%, and 2.5%, w/w) and nitrogen (0, 100, and 200 mg N kg?1) on plant growth, nutrient and cadmium (Cd) uptake of Cichorium intybus. N, P, Ca, Mg, and Cd concentrations increased with N level in 0% and 1% biochar treatments. In plants treated with 2.5% biochar, 200 mg N kg?1 addition caused significant reductions of N, P, Ca, Mg, and Cd concentrations in comparison to 100 mg N kg?1 treatments. Nitrogen promoted shoot biomass at all biochar treatments, while biochar had no effect on shoot biomass in 0 and 200 mg N kg?1 addition treatments. Nitrogen also significantly increased N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and Cd contents in the 0% and 1.5% biochar addition treatments. Although soil DTPA-extractable Cd concentration showed the lowest values in 1% biochar in combination with 100 and 200 mg N kg?1 addition treatments, lowest shoot Cd concentration, and relatively high shoot biomass occurred in the 2.5% biochar + 200 mg N kg?1 treatment. Based on these results, biochar application at its highest rate (2.5%) in combination with high N supply (200 mg N kg?1) contributed to both crop yield and agricultural product safety. N input alone might increase the risk of human health, and the optimum N dose should be determined during phytostabilization process.  相似文献

To study the network dynamics of the riboflavin biosynthesis pathway and to identify potential bottlenecks in the system, an ordinary differential equation-based model was constructed using available literature data for production strains. The results confirmed that the RibA protein is rate limiting in the pathway. Under the conditions investigated, we determined a potential limiting order of the remaining enzymes under increased RibA concentration (>0.102 mM) and therefore higher riboflavin production (>0.045 mmol g CDW ?1 h?1 and 0.0035 mM s?1, respectively). The reductase activity of RibG and lumazine synthase (RibH) might be the next most limiting steps. The computational minimization of the enzyme concentrations of the pathway suggested the need for a greater RibH concentration (0.251 mM) compared with the other enzymes (RibG: 0.188 mM, RibB: 0.023 mM).  相似文献

The present study relates to the use of cyanobacterium Nostoc muscorum as a model system for removal of heavy metals such as Pb and Cd from aquatic systems. The effects of various physicochemical factors on the surface binding and intracellular uptake of Pb and Cd were studied to optimize the metal removal efficiency of the living cells of N. muscorum. Results demonstrated that a significant proportion of Pb and Cd removal was mediated by surface binding of metals (85 % Pb and 79 % Cd), rather than by intracellular accumulation (5 % Pb and 4 % Cd) at the optimum level of cyanobacterial biomass (2.8 g L?1), metal concentration (80 μg mL?1), pH (pH 5.0–6.0), time (15–30 min), and temperature (30–40 °C). N. muscorum has maximum amounts of metal removal (q max) capacity of 833 and 666.7 mg g?1 protein for Pb and Cd, respectively. The kinetic parameters of metal binding revealed that adsorption of Pb and Cd by N. muscorum followed pseudo-second-order kinetics, and the adsorption behavior was better explained by both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The surface binding of both the metals was apparently facilitated by the carboxylic, hydroxyl, and amino groups as evident from Fourier transform infrared spectra.  相似文献
