现有研究表明,植物种子中的凝集素是植物体内的储存蛋白;扁豆和稻胚凝集素对胚胎的分裂和分化有促进作用;在豆科植物和根瘤菌之间的共生作用中,凝集素起着高度专一的识别作用;麦胚凝集素在种胚萌发时,起着抗真菌的作用;体外实验也证明凝集素对危害玉米的主要害虫的发育有阻碍作用;还发现植物凝集素具有酶的活性和酶抑制剂的作用,从而调节植物体的生理活动。  相似文献

1. Sections of Avena coleoptiles are found to show a considerable elongation when suspended in solutions of growth substance. 2. This elongation does not take place in the absence of O2 and is inhibited by KCN and phenylurethane. 3. The rate of respiration of sections of coleoptiles is increased by the addition of growth substance in concentrations which cause growth. High concentrations of growth substance inhibit growth and also respiration. 4. The increase in respiration is inhibited by KCN and phenylurethane in the concentrations which inhibit normal respiration. These concentrations are the same as those which inhibit growth. 5. From 2, 3, and 4, it seems possible that the increase in respiration caused by growth substance may be an essential part of its action in growth.  相似文献

A study of the vegetative growth of potato plants indicated that all varieties grown under identical conditions are likely to show similar growth rates during the early stages of development.
Differences in total leaf area per plant between varieties became apparent at the stage when rapid development of axillary shoots from the main axis occurred. The maincrop varieties, Stormont Dawn and King Edward, attained a greater total leaf area than the early varieties, Ulster Chieftain and Arran Pilot, because of the greater development of axillary shoots.
It is suggested that the number of nodes produced beneath the terminal inflorescence on the main axis approximates to a constant value, independent of variety. Varietal differences were manifested in the distribution between leaves above ground and stolons below, the early varieties producing fewer leaves above ground than the maincrop, in inverse proportion to the number of underground stolons.
The yields of tubers per plant are given for four varieties. Differences between varieties in the rate of tuber formation are related to differences in the development of haulms.
It is considered probable that the potato plant exhibits a basic growth form which is modified in each variety in a characteristic manner according to the stage in the growth cycle and the rate at which the growth substances are distributed to the various organs of the plant.  相似文献

In sugar beet, the effect on bolting of additions of potash manures, of superphosphate, and of the mixture of these was not significant, whether applied at the time of sowing or previously. Dung applied in the previous autumn slightly increased the number of plants which went to seed, and when applied just before sowing it had a more marked effect. An amount of sulphate of ammonia which would have approximately the same stimulating effect as the dung gave a slightly larger amount of bolting.
On red beetroot, it was possible to compare larger and smaller dressings of various coarse organic manures, and of each of these with and without dressings of sulphate of ammonia. In all cases the sulphate of ammonia and each of the organic manures largely increased the amount of bolting, and a doubling of the organic manure dressing or the addition of sulphate of ammonia to it caused a further increase. Sewage sludge gave an abnormally large amount of bolting, but it is doubtful whether this was due to the larger amount of organic matter and nitrogen applied in this manure. In general, any manurial addition causing more vigorous growth leads to an increase in bolting. There is a very large variation in the amount of running to seed in the crop of red beetroot from different parts of the same field, but the effect of the manures on the proportion which bolted was not widely different.
The general question as to the reason why beet plants should bolt more in one season than in another is discussed, and it is suggested that a check to the plants in an early stage, whether caused by dryness or waterlogging, or by low temperature, followed by a vigorous growing period may have something to do with the matter. This would agree with the experiences recorded in the present paper.  相似文献
