A complex of Ag/AgCl nanoparticles was synthesized on the basis of the extracellular polysaccharide of Azotobacter chroococcum XU1 and 10 mM AgNO3 solution. The complex was characterized by UV spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. Colloidal solutions of the complex had absorption peaks at 260 and 420 nm, indicating the formation Ag/AgCl nanoparticles. The size of the nanoparticles varied from 6 to 50 nm. The nanobiocomposite consisting of the exopolysaccharide matrix and Ag/AgCl nanoparticles exhibited a fungicidal effect against such plant pathogens as Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum and Verticillium dahliae.  相似文献

Effect of selenium-containing biocomposites obtained from submerged cultures of macrobasidiomycetes Ganoderma applantum, G. cattienensis, G. colossus G. lucidum, G. neojaponicum, and G. valesiacum, on plant pathogenic bacteria Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus (Cms), Micrococcus luteus, Pectobacterium atrosepticum, Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas viridiflava, and Xanthomonas campestris was studied. Oxopropyl-4-hydroxychromenones were used as components of the fungal nutrient media. The bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity of the Se-containing and Se-free substances of fungal origin against plant pathogenic bacteria was determined using colony-forming units count, the agar well diffusion method, and by turbidity measurements of bacterial suspensions. The composites produced from the extracellular metabolites of G. cattienensis SIE1302 with 4-hydroxy-3-(3-oxo-1,3-diphenyl propyl)-chromen-2-one (S(45)), and of G. lucidum SIE1303 with 4-hydroxy-3-(3-oxo-1-(3-nitrophenyl)-3-phenylpropyl)-chromen-2-one (S(NO2)) possessed the most pronounced antibacterial action against Cms. The composites produced from the isolates of G. valesiacum 120702 with S(NO2) showed the maximal antibacterial activity against Xanthomonas campestris B-610. High antimicrobial effect of G. lucidum 1315 with S(NO2) against Xanthomonas campestris B-610 and of G. colossus SIE1301 against Pseudomonas fluorescens EL-2.1 was revealed. The pioneering information on the biological activity of coumarin series compounds in their application for producing the substances of fungal origin was obtained.  相似文献

We conducted an experiment to assess the predictive capability of a leaf optical meter for determining leaf pigment status of Acer mono Maxim., A. ginnala Maxim., Quercus mongolica Fisch., and Cornus alba displaying a range of visually different leaf colors during senescence. Concentrations of chlorophyll (Chl) a, Chl b, and total Chl [i.e., Chl (a+b)] decreased while the concentration of carotenoids (Car) remained relatively static for all species as leaf development continued from maturity to senescence. C. alba exhibited the lowest average concentration of Chl (a+b), Chl a, and Car, but the highest relative anthocyanin concentration, while Q. mongolica exhibited the highest Chl (a+b), Chl b, and the lowest relative anthocyanin concentration. A. mono exhibited the highest Chl a and Car concentrations. The relationships between leaf pigments and the values measured by the optical meter generally followed an exponential function. The strongest relationships between leaf pigments and optical measurements were for A. mono, A. ginnala, and Q. mongolica (R 2 ranged from 0.64 to 0.95), and the weakest relationships were for C. alba (R 2 ranged from 0.13 to 0.67). Moreover, optical measurements were more strongly related to Chl a than to Chl b or Chl (a+b). Optical measurements were not related to Car or relative anthocyanin concentrations. We predicted that weak relationships between leaf pigments and optical measurements would occur under very low Chl concentrations or under very high anthocyanin concentrations; however, these factors could not explain the weak relationship between Chl and optical measurements observed in C. alba. Overall, our results indicated that an optical meter can accurately estimate leaf pigment concentrations during leaf senescence — a time when pigment concentrations are dynamically changing — but that the accuracy of the estimate varies across species. Future research should investigate how species-specific leaf traits may influence the accuracy of pigment estimates derived from optical meters.  相似文献

A simple and green method was developed for the extracellular biosynthesis of silver chloride nanoparticles, free from silver nanoparticles, using cell-free filtrate of a thermotolerant fungal strain Aspergillus terreus 8. The synthesized silver chloride nanoparticles exhibited characteristic absorption maximum at 275 nm. As-fabricated AgCl-NPs were characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, XRD, SEM-EDX, and FT-IR. The biosynthesized silver chloride nanoparticles exhibited strong antimicrobial activity towards pathogenic microorganisms such as Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum and Verticillium dahliae. The synthesized silver chloride nanoparticles can be exploited as a promising new biocide bionanocomposite against pathogenic microorganisms.  相似文献

The sodium tungsten bronzes (Na x WO3) are vividly coloured metallic materials where the optical behaviour can be attributed to the bulk plasma frequency occurring in the visible part of the spectrum. A combination of density functional theory (DFT) calculations and experimental electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) was used to assess their bulk and surface plasmon responses. It was observed that Na x WO3 can sustain strong localised surface plasmon resonances (LSPR) with an energy that can be tuned by changing the Na content. They have a stronger plasmonic response when compared to Au and do not suffer from the atmospheric corrosion of Ag, giving them good potential for plasmonic applications.  相似文献

This paper reports the successful excitation of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) through 1D metallic grating on higher refractive index GaP substrate. Coupling efficiency (η) of a free-space transverse-magnetic (TM) plane-wave mode into a SPP mode is crucial for many plasmonic devices. This η predominantly depends on the fabrication (milling) parameters and the factors (under- and over-milling) affecting the η is investigated experimentally and numerically. First of all, η is estimated by measuring the transmission spectra obtained through the plasmonic grating structures by varying the slit width (a) for a fixed period (Λ) and the thickness (t) of the gold (Au) film in which the grating is formed. The wave vector of the incident light is tuned to match the wave vector of the SPP, to get maximum η. For an optimum Au film thickness, a slit width of half of the periodicity of 770 nm in the grating device yields a maximum η. Such grating devices support only a fundamental plasmonic mode because the profile/shape of the slit in the grating device is more like a sinusoidal nature. Furthermore, such grating offers intermediate scattering to the incident light and the SPP as well which in-truns couple more incident energy to the SPPs. Moreover, over-milling results in decreased η where the crystalline plane of the substrate is disturbed. Finite element method (FEM) in COMSOL modeling is used to understand the underlying physics. This study is very useful for the development of the device application in real word.  相似文献

We design two kinds of plasmonic broadband polarization splitters based on dual-core photonic crystal fiber (DC-PCF) with elliptical Au or Ag nanowire in this paper. It is analyzed for the polarization independent characterestics of the designed DC-PCF by the finite element method (FEM). In order to excite the surface plasmon resonance (SPR), the metal Au and Ag are filled into elliptical central air hole. The resonance coupling between the fourth- or fifth-order surface plasmon modes (SPMs) and core-guided modes (CGMs) are founded by this numerical simulation. The device lengths of the designed splitters with Au nanowire are 2937 and 827 μm at the wavelength of 1.31 and 1.55 μm, respectively. As the extinction ratios are better than ?20 dB, its bandwidths are better than 94 and 103 nm. For the designed Ag nanowire splitter, the device lengths are 3066 or 809 μm at 1.31 or 1.55 μm, respectively. The bandwidths with the extinction ratio better than ?20 dB are 66 and 104 nm, respectively.  相似文献

A novel multifunctional drug delivery system was fabricated by conjugating galactose-based polymer, methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(6-O-methacryloyl-D-galactopyranose) (mPEG-b-PMAGP) with doxorubicin (DOX) via an acid-labile carbamate linkage. The mPEG-b-PMAGP-co-DOX nanoparticles were spherical in shape, and the diameter determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS) was 54.84?±?0.58 nm, larger than that characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The in vitro drug release profiles were studied, and the release of DOX from the nanoparticles was pH-responsive. The cellular uptake behavior of free-DOX and mPEG-b-PMAGP-co-DOX nanoparticles by asialoglycoprotein (ASGP) receptor-positive cancer cell line (HepG2) and ASGP receptor-negative cancer cell lines (MCF-7 and A549 cells) was evaluated by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and flow cytometry (FCM), respectively. The mPEG-b-PMAGP-co-DOX nanoparticles which contain galactose functional groups exhibited higher cellular uptake behavior via ASGP receptor-mediated endocytosis in HepG2 cells than in other two cancer cells. The in vitro cytotoxicity assay manifested that the mPEG-b-PMAGP-co-DOX nanoparticles exhibited higher anticancer efficacy against HepG2 cells than MCF-7 cells. These results indicated that the multifunctional mPEG-b-PMAGP-co-DOX nanoparticles possessing pH-responsible and hepatoma-targeting function have great potential to be used as a targeting drug delivery system for hepatoma therapy.  相似文献

The seaweed genus Gracilaria is a potential candidate for the production of bioethanol due to its high carbohydrate content. Gracilaria is abundant throughout the world and can be found in both wild and cultivated forms. Differences in the ecological factors such as temperature, salinity, and light intensity affecting wild and cultivated specimens may influence the biochemical content of seaweeds, including the carbohydrate content. This study aimed to investigate the proximate composition and potential bioethanol production of wild and cultivated G. gigas and G. verrucosa. Bioethanol was produced using separate hydrolysis fermentation (SHF), employing a combination of enzymatic and acid hydrolysis, followed by fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 200062. The highest carbohydrate content was found in wild G. gigas. The highest galactose and glucose contents (20.21 ± 0.32 and 9.70 ± 0.49 g L?1, respectively), as well as the highest production of bioethanol (3.56 ± 0.02 g L?1), were also found in wild G. gigas. Thus, we conclude that wild G. gigas is the most promising candidate for bioethanol production. Further research is needed to optimize bioethanol production from wild G. gigas. Domestication of wild G. gigas is a promising challenge for aquaculture to avoid overexploitation of this wild seaweed resource.  相似文献

The pathogenesis of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND) is modulated by host genetic susceptibility factors such as Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Promoter polymorphism of MMP-1 and MMP-3 may modify the expression of the gene. Hence, we evaluated the association of MMP-1-16072G/1G and MMP-3-1612 5A/6A polymorphisms with development of HAND and the modulation of pathogenesis of HAND. We enrolled a total of 180 individuals, 50 HIV-infected individuals with HAND, 130 without HAND, and 150 healthy controls. Polymorphism of MMP-1 and MMP-3 were genotyped by PCR-RFLP. MMP-1-1607 2G1G, -16071G/2G-1G/1G genotypes and -1607 1G allele were associated with the development of HAND (OR = 1.64, P = 0.05; OR = 1.45, P = 0.04; OR = 1.69, P = 0.05). MMP-1-16071G1G, MMP-3-16125A5A genotypes increased the risk for the development of HAND (OR = 1.78, P = 0.25; OR = 2.39, P = 0.13). MMP-3-1612 5A5A, -1612 6A/5A-5A/5A genotypes and -1612 5A allele were associated with the reduced risk of HAND (OR = 0.40, P = 0.05; OR = 0.53, P = 0.04; OR = 0.40, P = 0.01). Haplotype 5A1G increased the risk of development of HAND (OR = 1.93, P = 0.05). As observed in advanced HIV disease stage, MMP-1-1607 1G1G genotype enhance the risk for advancement of HIV disease (OR = 1.69, P = 0.89). MMP-3-1612 6A5A genotype showed higher risk for development of HAND in alcohol users (0R = 1.65, P = 0.44). MMP-1 genotype may have an influence on development of HAND whereas MMP3-1612 5A5A genotype may reduce risk for pathogenesis of HAND.  相似文献

Serotoninergic system is one of the major brain neurotransmitter systems that is involved in the development of depressive spectrum disorders. Regulatory genes of this system are the principle candidate genes predisposing to unipolar depression. Using PCR-RFLP analysis, we have conducted a study of polymorphic loci of several genes of this system: C1019G of serotonin receptor 1A gene, (HTR1A); A-1438G of serotonin receptor 2A gene, (HTR2A); G861C of serotonin receptor 1B gene, (HTR1B); Stin2VNTR and 5-HTTLPR of serotonin transporter gene (SLC6A4) in patients with unipolar depression from Tatar and Russian population. The results of the study suggest that genotype 10/10 of the SLC6A4 gene as well as genotype G/G and allele G of the HTR2A gene can predispose to increased risk of unipolar depression development in ethnic Russians. In contrast, genotype 12/10 of the SLC6A4 gene is a marker of low risk of the disease in both groups.  相似文献

Genlisea aurea A.St.-Hil. is a carnivorous plant endemic species to Brazil in the Lentibulariaceae family. Very few studies have addressed the genetic structure and conservation status of G. aurea and the Lentibulariaceae. Microsatellites markers are advantageous tools that can be employed to predict the vulnerability of Lentibulariaceae species. Therefore, the development of molecular markers focusing the population analyses of Genlisea for future genetic studies and conservation actions are essential. Thus, we developed simple sequence repeats (SSRs) based on in silico analyses of G. aurea draft genome assembly. We characterized 40 individuals from several populations and identified 12 loci that were polymorphic, with heterozygosity between 0.123 and 0.650. We demonstrated that the G. aurea SSR markers work cross-species in Genlisea filiformis, G. repens, G. tuberosa and G. violacea. These markers will be important for future population, phylogeographic and conservation studies in G. aurea and other Genlisea species.  相似文献

Resistance to fusidic acid in Corynebacterium glutamicum and Brevibacterium flavum is associated with mutations in the fusA gene, which encodes the elongation factor G (EF-G). Two to ten percent of fusidic acid-resistant clones were shown to produce more lysine than parent strains. Sequencing of the fusA gene in clones with a high level of lysine production made it possible to find two mutations in the gene at position 1383—С1383G and С1383А. These mutations cause amino acid replacement at position 461 in the protein EF-G, namely, histidine is substituted by glutamine (H461Q). The mutation С1383G was introduced in the chromosomal copy of the fusA gene in C. glutamicum and B. flavum strains by homologous recombination. All clones containing the mutant variant of the fusA gene produced 10% more lysine than the parent strains.  相似文献

The dim1+ gene family is essential for G2/M transition during mitosis and encodes a small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that functions in the mRNA splicing machinery of eukaryotes. However, the plant homolog of DIM1 gene has not been defined yet. Here, we identified a gene named GmDim1 positioned on chromosome 9 of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) with 80% homology to other eukaryotic dim1+ family genes. A domain of soybean DIM1 protein was primarily conserved with U5 snRNP protein family and secondarily aligned with mitotic DIM1 protein family. The GmDim1 gene was expressed constitutively in all soybean organs. The transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) plants overexpressing GmDim1 showed early flowering and stem elongation, produced multiple shoots and continued flowering after the post-flowering stage. DIM1 proteins transiently expressed in onion cells were localized in the nucleus with dense deposition in the nucleolus. Therefore, we propose that the soybean GmDim1 gene is a component of plant U5 snRNP involved in mRNA splicing and normal progress of plant growth.  相似文献
