The light regime inside a photobioreactor is characterized by a light gradient with full (sun)light at the light-exposed surface and darkness in the interior of the bioreactor. Consequently, depending on the mixing characteristics, algae will be exposed to certain light/dark cycles. In this study the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was cultivated under five different light regimes: (1) continuous illumination; (2) a square-wave light/dark cycle with a light fraction (epsilon) of 0.5 and a duration (t(c)) of 6.1 s; (3) epsilon=0.5, t(c)=14.5 s; (4) epsilon=0.5, t(c)=24.3 s and (5) epsilon=0.8, t(c)=15.2 s. The biomass yield on light energy, protein per photons, decreased under light/dark cycles (epsilon=0. 5) in comparison to continuous light (CL), from 0.207 (CL) to 0.117-0.153 g mol(-1) (epsilon=0.5). Concomitantly, the maximal specific photosynthetic activity, oxygen production per protein, decreased from 0.94 (CL) to 0.64-0.66 g g(-1) h(-1) (epsilon=0.5). Also the quantum yield of photochemistry, yield of the conversion of light energy into chemical energy, decreased from 0.47 (CL) to 0. 23 (epsilon=0.5, t(c)=24.3 s). Apparently, C. reinhardtii is not able to maintain a high photosynthetic capacity under medium-duration light/dark cycles and since specific light absorption did not change, light utilization efficiency decreased in comparison to continuous illumination.  相似文献

Larval release and photobehavior were studied in the colonial ascidian Polyandrocarpa zorritensis. The test hypothesis was that if larval release is induced by light, then larvae should be attracted to settlement areas where light is sufficient for larval release. Light induced larval release but the time course varied with light intensity. As the intensity of either sunlight or blue-green light decreased (1) the time until the beginning of larval release (latency) became longer, (2) the mean time of larval release increased, and (3) the time interval over which larvae were released increased. The threshold light intensity to induce larval release in blue-green light (8.75x10(12) photons cm(-2) s(-1)) was lower than that in sunlight (3.6x10(13) photons cm(-2) s(-1)). Light induced larval release was not affected by currents up to 15 cm s(-1). Larvae aggregate in light when given a choice between light and dark. This response did not vary with larval age. The lowest light intensity, at which larvae could distinguish between light and dark was 5.0x10(12) photons cm(-2) s(-1) in blue-green light and 2.9x10(14) photons cm(-2) s(-1) in sunlight. Thus, the hypothesis is supported because larvae are attracted to areas where light intensity is sufficient for larval release.  相似文献

Blue light sensitivity of melatonin suppression and subjective mood and alertness responses in humans is recognized as being melanopsin based. Observations that long-wavelength (red) light can potentiate responses to subsequent short-wavelength (blue) light have been attributed to the bistable nature of melanopsin whereby it forms stable associations with both 11-cis and all-trans isoforms of retinaldehyde and uses light to transition between these states. The current study examined the effect of concurrent administration of blue and red monochromatic light, as would occur in real-world white light, on acute melatonin suppression and subjective mood and alertness responses in humans. Young healthy men (18-35 years; n = 21) were studied in highly controlled laboratory sessions that included an individually timed 30-min light stimulus of blue (λ(max) 479 nm) or red (λ(max) 627 nm) monochromatic light at varying intensities (10(13)-10(14) photons/cm(2)/sec) presented, either alone or in combination, in a within-subject randomized design. Plasma melatonin levels and subjective mood and alertness were assessed at regular intervals relative to the light stimulus. Subjective alertness levels were elevated after light onset irrespective of light wavelength or irradiance. For melatonin suppression, a significant irradiance response was observed with blue light. Co-administration of red light, at any of the irradiances tested, did not significantly alter the response to blue light alone. Under the current experimental conditions, the primary determinant of the melatonin suppression response was the irradiance of blue 479 nm light, and this was unaffected by simultaneous red light administration.  相似文献

以盆栽当年生广西地不容为材料,研究不同光照强度(100%、50%、30%和15%自然光强)对其光合特性和生长的影响。结果表明:随着光照强度的降低,广西地不容最大净光合速率(P_(max))、光饱和点(LSP)、光补偿点(LCP)先减小,而后稍有增大;表观量子效率(AQY)在30%和50%光强下显著高于100%和15%光强处理;叶片叶绿素总量(Chl)、叶绿素a(Chla)、叶绿素b(Chlb)、类胡萝卜素(Car)含量随光强的减弱而增大,Car/Chl随光强的减弱而减小,Chla/Chlb比值在各处理间无显著差异;单叶面积随生长光强的减弱而增大,比叶重(LMA)则随着生长光强的减弱而减小;30%光强下广西地不容块根生物量最高,光照过强和过弱都不利于其生物量的积累。广西地不容对光强的适应范围较广,但光照过强或过荫均对生长造成不良影响,光合速率降低,生长减缓,块根生物量积累下降,30%光强是其当年生苗生长的最佳光强。  相似文献

与传统光源相比,LED具有光谱可控、亮度高但发热量小、寿命长等优势.LED光源可实现光谱可控,通过调制光谱与植物的感光细胞最优结合来影响植物的生长发育与营养品质.本研究利用LED精量调制光源,以‘菊花小八叶’乌塌菜品种为试验材料,设红光、蓝光、红/蓝光(3/1)、红/蓝光(7/1)、白/红/蓝光(3/2/1)5个处理,以白光为对照,研究不同光质对乌塌菜生长、光合特性及品质的影响.结果表明: 红光有利于乌塌菜生物量和茎粗的增大,而蓝光有抑制作用;叶绿素含量以红/蓝光(7/1)处理最高,且叶绿素总量与红/蓝光比值呈正相关,虽然蓝光显著降低叶绿素含量,但提高了叶绿素 a/b 值;光合速率和蒸腾速率均以红光处理最高,与对照相比分别增加43.8%和55.1%,而蓝光处理下有较高的气孔导度及胞间CO2浓度.不同光质处理对乌塌菜的荧光参数有较大影响,白光的Fv/Fm、Fv/Fo和ΦPSⅡ均最大;红光可以提高可溶性糖含量,蓝光能提高可溶性蛋白含量,白光能增加维生素C含量.综合分析,红/蓝光(7/1)处理在增加叶片光合色素含量,提高光合速率,促进植株生长和改善营养品质方面为最优组合.  相似文献

1. Visual sensitivity of the mayflies Stenacron interpunctatum (Say) and Stenonema vicarium (Walker) to red (650 nm) and infra-red (950 nm) light was tested using a behavioural assay. Nymphs were placed in a runway and sequentially exposed to green light, red light, infra-red light and no light (control) at one end of the runway. The distance run away from the light, and the number of alarm reactions to the light were recorded. 2. Both species reacted strongly to both red and green light, running significantly greater distances and reacting more frequently to these wavelengths of light than to either infrared light or the control. 3. These results show that unobtrusive observations of mayfly nocturnal behaviour should be made using infra-red, and not red light, for illumination. Previous studies of aquatic insect nocturnal behaviour may have produced biased results if red light was used.  相似文献

采用发光二极管调制光谱能量分布,以荧光灯为对照,研究不同光质(红光、蓝光、黄光、绿光)下番茄幼苗生理特性及内源性GA和IAA水平与其生长的关系。结果表明:(1)红光和蓝光有利于番茄幼苗茎的伸长和叶面积的增加。(2)除蓝光处理下可溶性糖含量和SOD活性与对照无显著性差异外,各单色光质处理下番茄幼苗根系活力、色素含量、可溶性蛋白和可溶性糖含量、SOD活性较对照均显著降低。(3)与对照相比,各单色光质处理下番茄幼苗叶片中GA含量显著降低,IAA含量在红光下显著升高,在黄光和绿光下显著降低,且叶面积与IAA含量呈显著正相关关系。(4)番茄幼苗茎中GA和IAA含量在红光和蓝光处理下显著高于对照和黄、绿光处理,且株高与茎中GA和IAA含量呈正相关关系。  相似文献

采用四季金花茶(Camellia perpetua) 2年生扦插苗为试材,设置10%光照、20%光照、40%光照和全光照等4个光照强度处理,植株适应45 d后测定其叶片光合指标和生理指标。结果表明,10%光照处理的叶片光合速率和气孔导度最高,20%光照和40%光照之间无显著差异,但均显著高于全光照处理;全光照处理的胞间CO2浓度和蒸腾速率显著高于其他三个处理,20%光照和10%光照处理的胞间CO2浓度差异不明显,但均显著低于40%光照处理,20%光照和40%光照处理的蒸腾速率差异不明显,但均显著高于10%光照处理。叶绿素a、叶绿素b和总叶绿素含量以40%光照处理的为最高,显著高于其他处理;10%光照处理的植株叶片蛋白质含量和过氧化物酶(POD)活性最高,各处理间蛋白质含量差异显著,全光照处理的POD活性显著低于其他处理;可溶性糖含量、超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性和丙二醛(MDA)含量以全光照处理为最高,而10%光照处理的最低。遮阴的低光照环境更适合于四季金花茶生长,有利于植株进行光合作用,而高强度光照环境对四季金花茶光合生理产生不同程度的抑制作用。  相似文献

The growth characteristics of microalgae under different light conditions (continuous or intermittent) are essential information for photobioreactor design and operation. In this study, we constructed a thin-layer (10 mm) flat plate photobioreactor device with a light/dark (L/D) alternation system to investigate the growth of Spirulina platensis under two different light regimes: (1) continuous illumination in a wide range of light intensities (1.00-77.16 mW cm−2); (2) intermittent illumination in medium frequency (0.01-20 Hz). Specific growth rate and light efficiency based on biomass production were determined for each round of experiment. Four regions (light limited region, intermediate region, light saturated region and light inhibition region) were recognized according to the results under continuous illumination. Under intermittent illumination, when L/D frequency increased from 0.01 Hz to 20 Hz, specific growth rate and light efficiency were enhanced. However, the enhancement was different, depending on the applied light intensity and light fraction. The higher the light intensity, the greater the enhancement would be when L/D frequency increased from 0.01 Hz to 20 Hz; and the higher the light intensity, the lower the light fractions is needed to maintain light efficiency as high as that under continuous illumination in light limited region.  相似文献

以辣椒叶色黄化突变体yl1及其野生型6421为试材,用白光、蓝光、红光、绿光、紫光、黄光和远红光不同光质进行处理,考察其表型、生理及光合特性的变化特征,探究光质对黄叶辣椒植株生长发育的影响。结果显示:(1)蓝光与红光对辣椒幼苗的生长有促进作用,黄光和远红光则会显著抑制幼苗生长,6421生长受不同光质的抑制影响比yl1更大。(2)两个辣椒材料光合色素含量在不同光质下均不同程度降低;6421叶绿素总含量和类胡萝卜素含量在不同光质下均高于yl1,yl1和6421叶片的光合色素含量分别在紫光和黄光下最低。(3)蓝光和绿光能显著提高yl1的净光合速率(Pn),而不同光质处理均显著降低了6421的Pn。(4)紫光处理使yl1的PSⅡ潜在活性(Fv/Fo)和最大光化学效率(Fv/Fm)值均显著降低且显著低于6421,但升高了光化学猝灭系数(qP)和非光化学猝灭系数(NPQ)。(5)蓝光、红光和绿光均能提高辣椒的超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化物酶(POD)和过氧化氢酶(...  相似文献

以拟南芥为材料,在红光和蓝光下对PRRs(pseudo-response regulators)突变体prr5p、rr7、prr9和toc1及其野生型的下胚轴表型进行比较观察,并采用实时定量PCR方法对突变体中光信号通路相关基因ZTL(zeitlupe)和CO(constans)的节律表达进行分析.结果表明:在红光下,prr5和toc1的下胚轴长度比野生型显著增长,在蓝光下,prr7p、rr9和toc1较野生型短,表明突变体降低了拟南芥对红光的敏感性,却增强了对蓝光的敏感性.红光和蓝光下,PRRs突变体中ZTL和CO的mRNA节律表达与野生型明显不同,其中红光下prr5和prr7、蓝光下prr5和toc1中的ZTLmRNA的表达显著下降且节律消失;红光下prr7和prr9以及蓝光下prr5突变体中的COmRNA表现基本无节律.因此推测,PRRs与ZTL的相互作用很可能在红光和蓝光信号转导途径中发挥作用,且PRRs基因极有可能参与了红光和蓝光对CO的调控.  相似文献

以蝴蝶兰(Phalaenopsis ssp.)栽培种绿熊(Green Bear)和大辣椒(Big Chilli)为培养材料, 研究不同光质的发光二极管(LED)组合对组织培养过程中增殖及生根的影响。结果表明, 红光更有利于蝴蝶兰单芽增殖、干重、鲜重以及株高的增加, 但不利于叶片叶绿素的积累; 蓝光有利于叶片叶绿素的积累, 并能提高根系活力; 远红光则对根长和根系活力的增加作用更显著。增殖扩繁阶段的最适LED为暖白, 2种蝴蝶兰芽增殖系数分别比白色荧光灯(对照)高出53.17%和46.37%。生根诱导阶段的最适LED组合为红:蓝:远红=3:6:1, 根长及根系活力均较对照显著增加。该研究结果为LED光源在蝴蝶兰组织培养中的应用奠定了基础。  相似文献

研究了6个橡胶树品种幼苗(适应1年后)在不同生长光强(100%、50%、25%和5%自然光)下的叶片光合系统对光强和CO2浓度的响应特性。结果表明,6个橡胶树品种对不同的光环境均表现出较强的适应性。在不同生长光强下,橡胶树幼苗叶片的最大光合速率(Pmax)、光补偿点(LCP)、暗呼吸速率(Rd)、磷酸丙糖利用速率(TPU)、最大羧化速率(Vcmax)和最大电子传递速率(Jmax)以及叶绿素含量(Chl)均有显著差异(P<0.05),而光饱和点(LSP)和AQY(表观量子效率)则无显著差异。相同生长光强下,6个橡胶树品种间叶片的最大光合速率(Pmax)、暗呼吸速率(Rd)、磷酸丙糖利用速率(TPU)、最大电子传递速率(Jmax)和叶绿素含量(Chl)有显著差异(P<0.05),其光补偿点(LCP)、最大羧化速率(Vcmax)和表观量子效率(AQY)则无显著差异。综合比较各参数,RRIM600、云研77-4和PR107适宜于相对光强为100%~50%的植胶环境,而云研77-2、GT1和热研523适宜于相对光强为50%~25%的植胶环境。  相似文献

Using a light-emitting diode (LED) as the light source, the effects of eight different light treatments [white light (control, W), purple light (P), blue light (B), red light (R), green light (G), yellow light (Y), red–blue light in a 9:1 ratio (9R/1B), and red–blue light in a 4:1 ratio (4R/1B)] on the growth, quality and nitrogen metabolism of lettuce were studied. The results showed that compared with the white light, the purple light, blue light, red light, and the red-blue light combination could all increase the biomass of the aboveground part of lettuce to various degrees, while green light and yellow light inhibited lettuce growth. Under blue light, the contents of soluble protein and flavonoid in lettuce were the highest; under red light, the soluble sugar content was the highest, while the contents of soluble protein, free amino acids, and vitamin C (VC) were relatively higher under the 4R/1B light condition. Compared with white light, the sources of purple, blue, and red lights as well as the red–blue light combination all significantly reduced nitrate accumulation in lettuce, and the activities of the nitrogen (N) metabolism-related enzymes such as nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, glutamine synthetase, glutamate synthase, and glutamate dehydrogenase were increased to varying degrees. In contrast, the contents of nitrate and ammonium N were significantly accumulated in lettuce under green light, and the activities of relative enzymes were significantly reduced. Therefore, the purple light, blue light, and red–blue combination light sources could promote N assimilation and improve the aboveground biomass accumulation in lettuce by improving the activity of the N metabolism-related enzymes in lettuce. Particularly under the 4R/1B light source, the biomass, soluble protein, VC, and total amino acid content were rather high in lettuce, which indicated that the 4R/1B light source could better effectively improve the nutritional quality and promote the growth of lettuce, while yellow light and green light are not suitable to serve as direct sources in a plant factory. These results provide a certain theoretical basis for the regulation of the light environment in cultivation facilities.  相似文献

Effect of light on seed germination of eight wetland Carex species   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: In wetland plant communities, species-specific responses to pulses of white light and to red : far-red light ratios can vary widely and influence plant emergence from the seed bank. Carex species are the characteristic plants of sedge meadows of natural prairie wetlands in mid-continental USA but are not returning to restored wetlands. Little is known about how light affects seed germination in these species-information which is necessary to predict seed bank emergence and to develop optimal revegetation practices. The effects of light on germination in eight Carex species from prairie wetlands were investigated. METHODS: Non-dormant seeds of eight Carex species were used to determine the influence of light on germination by examining: (a) the ability of Carex seeds to germinate in the dark; (b) the effect of different lengths of exposures to white light on germination; (c) whether the effect of white light can be replaced by red light; and (d) whether the germination response of Carex seeds to white or red light is photoreversible by far-red light. KEY RESULTS: Seeds of C. brevior and C. stipata germinated >25 % in continuous darkness. Germination responses after exposure to different lengths of white light varied widely across the eight species. Carex brevior required <15 min of white light for > or =50 % germination, while C. hystericina, C. comosa, C. granularis and C. vulpinoidea required > or =8 h. The effect of white light was replaced by red light in all species. The induction of germination after exposure to white or red light was reversed by far-red light in all species, except C. stipata. CONCLUSIONS: The species-specific responses to simulated field light conditions suggest that (a) the light requirements for germination contribute to the formation of persistent seed banks in these species and (b) in revegetation efforts, timing seed sowing to plant community development and avoiding cover crops will improve Carex seed germination.  相似文献

Flux response curves were determined at 16 wavelengths of light for the conductance for water vapor of the lower epidermis of detached leaves of Xanthium strumarium L. An action spectrum of stomatal opening resulted in which blue light (wavelengths between 430 and 460 nanometers) was nearly ten times more effective than red light (wavelengths between 630 and 680 nanometers) in producing a conductance of 15 centimoles per square meter per second. Stomata responded only slightly to green light. An action spectrum of stomatal responses to red light corresponded to that of CO2 assimilation; the inhibitors of photosynthetic electron transport, cyanazine (2-chloro-4[1-cyano-1-methylethylamino]-6-ethylamino-s-triazine) and 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea, eliminated the response to red light. This indicates that light absorption by chlorophyll is the cause of stomatal sensitivity to red light. Determination of flux response curves on leaves in the normal position (upper epidermis facing the light) or in the inverted position (lower epidermis facing the light) led to the conclusion that the photoreceptors for blue as well as for red light are located on or near the surfaces of the leaves; presumably they are in the guard cells themselves.  相似文献

In a shadehouse experiment we tested the effects of light, nutrients and ectomycorrhizal fungi (EMF) on the growth of Vatica albiramis van Slooten (Dipterocarpaceae) seedlings. We hypothesised that it is more advantageous for plants to form connections with EMF and to trade carbon for nutrients with EMF under high light than low light. The relationship between seedling growth and the proportion of ectomycorrhizal root tips was expected as positive in high light and as negative in low light. Light conditions simulated the forest understory (low; 3% full sunlight), a small gap (medium; 11%) and a large gap (high; 33%) and a fully factorial combination of nutrients (F?/+) and ectomycorrhizal colonization (EMF?/+) treatments were applied within light conditions. The application of EMF and nutrients did significantly alter seedling growth across the range of forest floor light conditions, however the key hypothesis was rejected as seedling growth under low light was not affected by increased EMF colonization of root tips (light:EMF colonization χ2?=?2.97, p?=?0.23). In addition, the lack of difference in morphotype abundance across light conditions indicated that light changes may not favour the association to specific EMF in seedlings of this particular dipterocarp species. Our results suggest that antagonistic (non-beneficial to the plant) effects due to ectomycorrhizal colonization under a light constrained environment may not affect seedling growth of Vatica albiramis.  相似文献

Hematoporphyrin (HP), hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD), and thiopyronine (TP) are photosensitive agents (PSA) that have a germicidal effect when they are activated by light: helium neon laser (He Ne ) light (HP, HPD), white light (HP, HPD), and yellow-green light (TP). Experiments were conducted with appropriate controls to determine the effect of photosensitive agents a) for inactivating bovine herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1; titre 10(6) TCID(50) /ml) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV; titre 10(6) TCID(50) /ml); b) for disinfecting Day-7, zona pellucida-intact (ZP-I) bovine embryos that had been exposed to BHV-1 (titre 10(6) TCID(50) /ml) or BVDV (titre 10(6) TCID(50) /ml); and c) on the in vitro development of embryos. Exposure to HP, HPD and TP followed by light irradiation inactivated BHV-1 and BVDV. Embryos exposed to BHV-I were disinfected by HP or HPD (5 mug/ml) in combination with He Ne light, or by HP or HPD (10 mug/ml) in combination with white light. Embryos exposed to BVDV were disinfected by HPD (5 and 10 mug/ml) followed by He Ne or white light irradiation. Exposure of embryos to light alone or to light and HP or HPD had no detrimental effect on their in vitro development; however, exposure of embryos to TP (5 mug/ml) followed by irradiation caused embryonic degeneration. Exposure of embryos to 5 mug of HPD followed by He Ne light, or 10 mug/ml of HP or HPD, followed by white light, is simple methods of disinfecting them of BHV-I and BVDV.  相似文献

以‘妙香7号’草莓品种为材料,利用LED精量调制光源,设红光、蓝光、黄光、白光、红/蓝/黄(7/2/1)、红/蓝(7/2) 5个处理,以白光为对照,测定了草莓叶片的光合与荧光参数、色素含量、果实产量、品质和根系活力指标,研究 500 μmol·m-2·s-1光强下不同光质处理对草莓光合特性、果实产量及品质的影响.结果表明: 红光处理有利于提高草莓叶片的净光合速率与蒸腾速率,而蓝光有减弱作用;气孔导度与胞间CO2浓度均以蓝光处理效果最为显著.叶绿素荧光参数(Fo、Fm、ΦPSⅡ)均在红光处理下最大,而Fv/Fm、Fv/Fo、Fm/Fo均在红/蓝/黄处理下最大;红/蓝/黄处理下草莓色素含量、果实产量和根系活力均显著高于其他处理.红光处理的可溶性固形物和维生素C含量均最高,且与红/蓝/黄处理差异不显著;蓝光处理有利于提高可滴定酸和蛋白质含量,而红/蓝/黄处理的固酸比最大.红/蓝/黄处理最有利于增加光合色素含量,提高果实产量,促进部分品质改善.  相似文献
