We re-examined the distribution of chloroplast DNA (ct-DNA) in the pyrenoid core of Caulerpa okamurae Weber van Bosse and C. lentillifera J. Agardh by fluorescence microscopy after staining the squashes and Technovit sections with DNA fluorochromes such as 4′6-diamidino-2-phenylmdole (DAPI), ethidium bromide, Hoechst 33258 and chromomycin A3. All fluorochromes stained specifically the pyrenoid core on the squashes and Technovit sections. In addition, we present new data on the localization of ct-DNA in the pyrenoid core of two other species of the genus Caulerpa: C. cactoides (Turner) Agardh and C. geminata Harvey. 相似文献

Cytogenetic analyses were conducted in three species: Rineloricaria cadeae, Rineloricaria strigilata and Rineloricaria pentamaculata. The nucleolar organizing regions (NORs) were localized at the terminal position, on the ninth pair of the complement for R. cadeae and R. strigilata, on the eighth and sixth pair of st–a, respectively; and on the fifth pair of the complement for R. pentamaculata, the first pair of st–a. Rineloricaria strigilata and R. pentamaculata showed NOR heteromorphism and polymorphism, respectively. All species showed heterochromatin in the pericentromeric regions and associated with NORs, which were chromomycin A3 (CMA3) positive, demonstrating to be GC rich. The results show that NOR is nonconservative in this genus. 相似文献

The green alga Chlorella vulgaris has the ability to bind high amounts of uranium(VI) in the pH range from 3 to 6. At pH 3 up to 40% of the uranium are bound
by the algal cells. The uranium removal is almost complete at pH 5 and 6 under the given experimental conditions. Scanning
electron microscopy and laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy were used to characterize uranyl species formed in the selected
pH range. The micrographs show a regular distribution of U(VI) on the cell surface. Fluorescence spectroscopic investigations
of formed algal uranyl complexes indicate that the binding of U(VI) to carboxyl groups plays a dominating role at pH 3, whereas
a minor impact of organic phosphate compounds on the U(VI) sorption cannot be excluded. In contrast, at pH 5 and 6 the phosphate
groups are mainly responsible for the removal and binding of U(VI) by formation of organic and/or inorganic uranyl phosphates. 相似文献

Bat genomes are characterised by an A-T richness and by a small C-value compared with other mammalian groups. It has been suggested that the small C-value is mainly due to the lack of repetitive DNA sequences. However, little information about repetitive DNA sequences in this mammalian group is available at the molecular level. Here we describe a PstI family of repetitive DNA sequences present in three species of the genus Pteropus. These repetitive sequences are 54.97% G-C rich, organised in tandem and with a unit length of 744 bp. Methylation analysis indicates that some of the CCGG target sites present in these repetitive DNA sequences have methylated cytosines and that there are small differences in the methylation pattern between species. Several features of this family of repetitive sequences suggest that they evolved by concerted evolution. 相似文献

Available type material of Prionospio heterobranchia Moore, 1907, P. (Prionospio) texana Hartman, 1951, P. spongicola Wesenberg-Lund, 1958 and P. (P.) newportensis Reish, 1959, as well as newly collected material from the Southern Gulf of Mexico and Chetumal Bay in the Caribbean Sea, was examined. Several important differences were found between P. heterobranchia, P. (Prionospio) texana, P. spongicola and P. (P.) newportensis, and as a result, these three species are removed from synonymy with P. heterobranchia Moore, 1907, and redescribed and reinstated as valid species. In addition, three new species were identified and described: P. caribensis sp. nov., P. rosariae sp. nov. and P. jamaicensis sp. nov. A key to all species of Prionospio with five pairs of branchiae is provided. 相似文献

We describe here two new species of oegopsid squids. The first is an Asperoteuthis (Chiroteuthidae), and it is based on 18 specimens. This new species has sucker dentition and a funnel–mantle locking apparatus
that are unique within the genus. The second new species is a Promachoteuthis (Promachoteuthidae), and is based on a unique specimen. This new species has tentacle ornamentation which is unique within
the genus. We also describe a new genus and a new species of sepioid squid in the subfamily Heteroteuthinae (Sepiolidae) and
it is based on four specimens. This new genus and species exhibits unique modifications of the arms in males. 相似文献

Karyotype analyses of three Chirostoma species, C. estor, C. patzcuaro, and C. jordani from Mexico, are presented. C. estor and C. jordani have both a diploid number of 2N = 48 and a fundamental number of NF = 68, but different karyotype formulae. The co-occurrence
of these karyotypes with morphometric and allozymatic primitive features so far reported suggests that the ancestral karyotype
of the genus Chirostoma was similar to the one shown by these species. The divergent karyotype of C. patzcuaro (2N = 44 and NF = 44) could be related to its endemism and to the relatively small size of its populations.

After critical examination of specimens from several localities in Japan, I synonymize Goerodes toyotamaensis (Kobayashi) with G. corniger Ulmer, the type species of the genus. I redescribe the male, female, larva, and larval case of G. corniger and describe the pupa and egg for the first time. I reconfirm the generic assignment of G. albardanus (Ulmer), G. elongatus (Martynov), and G. sinuatus (Martynov), which were placed in Dinarthrodes by some authors, based on the similarity of their larvae with those of other species of Goerodes, including the type species. I synonymize Crunobiodes koreaensis Kobayashi, originally described from Korea, with G. sinuatus.
