The carrageenan-producing red algaKappaphycus alvarezii (Doty) Doty was brought to Vietnam from Japan in 1993. Branch fragments of this species were cultivated in a pond, lagoon, inlet and offshore in Vietnam for the first time. The best daily growth rate (DGR) of plants grown in the lagoon area attained 9–11 % day–1 in May to June (cold season). The water temperature and salinity in this area ranged from 27.2–32.4 °C and 31.4–33.7 °C, respectively. DGR of plants grown in the inlet ranged from 7 to 9% day–1 in June. Grazing by fish has been observed to occur in this area. The DGR of plants grown in the pond ranged from 5–6% in January–July, but decreased to less than 4% day–1 in August (hot season). K. alvarezii in Vietnam showed a carrageenan yield of 18.8–24.6% and gel strength of 1566–1712 g cm–2. These values are similar ones obtained fromK. alvarezii cultivated in the Philippines and Indonesia.  相似文献

A bundle of optical fibres and a photometer were used to measure light transmission through bud scales of Norway spruce [Picea abies (L.) Karst.] and Scots pine (Pinus silvestris L.). Percentage transmission increases with wavelength from none below 480 nm to 3% the far-red. Transmission of all wavebands measured was lowest in late summer and winter and highest in the autumn and spring. For most of the year in pine, and only from July to September in spruce, there is a depression of red light (660–670 nm) transmission. This affects the ratio of 660/730 nm light penetrating the apical domes. This ratio is lowest in July and August, at the time of initiation of female strobili. The seasonal variation in transmission of light by bud scales is discussed in relation to the possible consequences for the control of flowering.  相似文献

【目的】2013年10月云南省元谋县首次发现红火蚁。掌握红火蚁蚁巢各品级发生动态,能为当地红火蚁的防控提供技术支撑。【方法】2015年1—12月,在昆明宜良县对红火蚁蚁巢取样、分离,红火蚁取样、称重,统计红火蚁各品级的头数。【结果】地上蚁巢红火蚁蚁群数量发生高峰期在8—9月,其次是3—4月。蚁后数量比例高峰在3—4月;有翅雌蚁比例高峰在4月,其次是7月;有翅雄蚁比例高峰的在5月,其次是9月;生殖蚁幼虫和蛹比例高峰的3、4和12月。地上蚁巢工蚁、兵蚁、职能蚁幼虫和蛹数量发生的高峰期在8—9月,发生小高峰期在4月。【结论】昆明红火蚁蚁群数量动态有2个峰值,第一个峰值为8—9月,以职能蚁防治为主;第二个蜂值3—4月,以生殖蚁和职能蚁防治为主。该结果为昆明红火蚁防控技术提供了数据支撑。  相似文献

为了解茉莉花(Jasminum sambac)的内生菌多样性,利用16S rDNA高通量测序技术对其内生细菌组成进行测定。结果表明,茉莉花的内生细菌有38门78纲150目257科434属,其中变形菌门、放线菌门、壁厚菌门、拟杆菌门和绿弯菌门的物种丰度较高。变形菌门在6-10月的丰度均最高(70.3%~85.7%)。7月份植株的细菌Shannon指数最高(3.14)、Simpson指数最小(0.13),表明细菌群落多样性最高,且高温有利于提高植株内生细菌多样性。聚类和主成分分析表明,7和8月、9和10月的植株内生细菌群落构成相似度高,6月与其他月份的差异大。冗余分析和热图分析表明,土壤营养成分影响植株内生群落组成,以全氮、全磷和有机质含量为主要。这为挖掘利用茉莉花有益的内生菌资源奠定基础。  相似文献

The seasonal population size of planktonic larvae of mollusks of the soft-shell clam genus Mya were studied in Vostok Bay. The larvae occurred in plankton from the first third of June to early September. The highest density of larvae (279.7 ± 98.7 specimens/m3) was found in late June. In early July, larval numbers decreased sharply, and at the end of the first third of July, only single Mya larvae were found in the plankton. Another increase in larval population was observed in early and late August. The larvae varied in length from 175 to 325 m in June–July and from 150 to 250 m in August. It is likely that the larvae of two species of Mya, M. arenaria and M. uzenensis, are present in the plankton of Vostok Bay.  相似文献

In this study, we aimed to understand the influence of plant type on the monthly variations of diel CH4 fluxes from Spartina alterniflora and Suaeda salsa of coastal salt marshes at three growth stages (July, August and September). Dissolved CH4 concentrations in porewater and sediment redox potentials were monitored, as were aboveground plant biomass and stem densities. CH4 fluxes exhibited clear monthly variations and peaked in September in the S. alterniflora and S. salsa mesocosms. However, no discernible diel variation was observed in the CH4 flux in the S. salsa mesocosm, probably due to its weak gas transport capacity. By contrast, notable diel variations of CH4 flux with the peak of 1.42 and 3.67 mg CH4 m−2 h−1 at 12:00 and the lowest of 0.75 and 2.11 mg CH4 m−2 h−1 at 3:00 or 6:00 were observed in the S. alterniflora mesocosm on 11 August and 11 September, respectively, but not in July mainly due to low plant biomass masking diel variations in the porewater CH4 concentration. The ratios of the maximum flux to minimum flux over the course of the day in the S. alterniflora mesocosm on 10 July, 11 August and 11 September were 1.28, 1.89 and 1.76, respectively, and corresponding values for porewater CH4 concentration were 1.31, 1.39 and 1.17, respectively. CH4 flux significantly correlated with CH4 concentration in porewater, and both were significantly related to air temperature. These findings indicate that CH4 production and CH4 flux at the middle growth stage (August) exhibited greater responses to changes in air temperature, which in turn induced the higher diel variation. The higher diel cycle for CH4 flux in August than in September was likely due to the higher proportion of CH4 oxidized during diffusion within the aerenchyma system. Our results suggest that the extent of diel variations in CH4 flux may have depended on the gas transport capacity of plants, and the highest diel variation occurred at the middle growth stage.  相似文献

The influence of light quality on growth and development of in vitro grown Doritaenopsis hort. (Orchidaceae) plants was investigated. Growth parameters like leaf and root fresh/dry mass and leaf area were highest with plants grown under red plus blue light emitting diodes (LEDs). Leaf length was greater with the plants grown under red LED. Carbohydrate (starch, sucrose, glucose and fructose) and leaf pigment (chlorophylls and carotenoids) biosynthesis of the plants was significantly increased in plants grown under red plus blue LEDs compared to red or blue LED and fluorescent light treatments. This study suggests that the production of quality Doritaenopsis plants is possible by culturing the plants in vitro under a mixture of blue plus red light sources.  相似文献

Two surveys of Lamanea in South Wales rivers have given details of its distribution, seasonality and range of tolerance to various environmental parameters, with particular reference to temperature, current velocity and suspended solids.Temperature, current velocity and suspended solids had most effect. Such findings were confirmed by principal component and correlation coefficient analysis.These investigations also suggest that abundant growths of Lemanea may be used in a limited manner as indicative of oligotrophic and metal free waters especially during Spring.In addition, transplants of Lemanea from the upper to the lower reaches of the River Usk and vice versa were studied to clarify the effect of suspended solids in nature.Using the 14C technique for primary production proved to be a successful method with Lamanea for comparison with chlorophyll a extraction and phycoerythrin. The importance of the latter in energy transfer for photosynthesis was revealed for this genus. A combination of various simple and cheap methods for the extraction of the pigment phycoerythrin was used successfully for the first time in red algal studies.Procedures for estimating percentage cover, standing crop and the presence/absence of the plant are given and the statistical reliability of the methods is evaluated.  相似文献

The reproductive phenology of Chondrus ocellatus and the effects of temperature and light on its growth were examined in Cheongsapo near Busan, Korea, from September 1994 to August 1995. The vegetative plants dominated over the year, with a peak occurrence in January. Gameto- and tetrasporophytes were most abundant in November and August. All vegetative and reproductive plants had a peak both in length and weight in October, when seawater temperature was highest (24°C). In laboratory culture, the maximum relative growth rate (RGR) of 2.94% day−1 was obtained at 20°C and 100 μmol photons m−2 s−1, whereas the lowest value was recorded at 25°C and 100 μmol photons m−2 s−1 in a 12: 12 h LD photoperiod regime. Among the three photoperiod regimes (8:16 h, 12:12 h, 16:8 h LD) tested, there was evidence of a higher RGR in the 12:12 h LD cycle. This result suggests that the growth and reproduction of C. ocellatus are correlated with the seawater temperature based on laboratory culture and field observations.  相似文献

Willows (e.g. Salix caprea L.) are deciduous and richly branched shrubs or small trees. Salix caprea shows a high adaptability to different habitat conditions. One way of evaluating this adaptability is to measure willow biomass and production. Young plants of S. caprea were sampled from the bottom of an artificial lagoon in which sediments removed from the local Vajgar fishpond were deposited. The bottom of the lagoon was overgrown by vegetation dominated by seedlings of the willows S. caprea and S. aurita. Willows grew in the lagoon at average density of 58 plants per m2. The biomass production and growth of S. caprea were determined for 15 samples (collected from 315 individuals) during the growing season. Annual net dry matter production in the whole community was estimated for 2.7 kg m−2. Willows are generally considered to be fast-growing plants. The highest RGR of willows recorded by us was 0.03 to 0.04 g g−1 d−1 both in the stems and roots. This value was often recorded from July to August.  相似文献

Spatial distribution and production characteristics of the population of the unattached red algaAhnfeltia tobuchiensis (Kanno and Matsubara) Mak were studied in Baklan Bight (Sea of Japan) in September 1990 and June 1991. The following environmental factors were determined: the level of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) penetrating the water column; the water temperature; and the content of oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and dissolved organic substance. the main factor limiting the net primary production (NPP) of theA. tobuchiensis population in Baklan Bight appears to be PAR intensity at the surface of the stratum. In June and September, respectively it constituted about 10% and 0.2% of the PAR on the sea surface. By means of regression analysis, the following equations were obtained to describe the relationship between NPP at the surface of the stratum and the environmental factors studied, PAR intensity being the principal variable: NPP=0.02+0.81 PAR (in June) and NPP=0.02+0.23PAR (in September). In June and September, the NPP of theA. tobuchiensis stratum amounted to 17.2 and 1.3 g/(m2 day), and the biomass to 21 and 31 thousand tons, respectively. During the eight months, its distribution changed considerably. In June and September, the daily biomass growth equaled 140.7 and 8.5 t, respectively. A 10-cm-thick layer displayed the highest production characteristics.  相似文献

Seasonal patterns of drifting seaweeds in the southeastern coastal waters of Izu Peninsula of central Japan were examined by sampling 966 patches from spring to autumn 1991–1993. In total, 57 plant species appeared, including 10 epiphytic algal species. Monthly totals of the number of species, excluding epiphytic aigae, were highest in May (33) and August (27), though 19–21 species of sargassaceous algae were found from May to August, The number of species, excluding epiphytic algae, in one patch of drifting seaweeds was 1 to 11 (x?= 2.93 ± 2.06) with high richness in May a result of almost entirely sargassaceous species. The wet weight of each patch and maximum stipe length of plants varied from 5 to 6970 g and from 20 to 840 cm (x?= 536.1 ± 782,3 g and 110.6 ± 76.8 cm), respectively, with highs in April and May. Out of 18 species common to all years, 10 species dominated the top or second rank in monthly pooled frequency of appearance. Seasonal changes of these 10 major species were examined, Sargassum horneri (Turner) C. Agardh and Hizikia fusiformis (Harvey) Okamura were abundant in April, but were replaced partly by Sargassum muticum (Yendo) Fensholt in May and largely by Sargassum yamamotoi Yoshida in June. In July, Sargassum nipponicum Yendo and Sargassum piluliferum (Turner) C. Agardh dominated. Subsequently, the major species shifted to Sargassum ringgoldianum Harvey and S. yamamotoi in August, Sargassum micracanthum (Kützing) Endlicher, Sargassum macrocarpum C. Agardh and Zostera marina Linnaeus in September, and S. ringgoldianum and S. micracanthum in October. However, the occurrence of S. yamamotoi, S. nipponicum and S. piluliferum in June or July were particularly heterogeneous compared with other areas of Japan. Dendrogram analysis was done based on frequency of appearance. Pooled monthly samples were divided into three groups characterized from the dominant species, degree of domination, weight, length and number of species of drifting seaweeds as well as the degree of diversity or evenness in appearance. This characterization indicated that the diversity and abundance of drifting seaweeds were higher from April to June than in later months.  相似文献

Leptosphaeria maculans and L. biglobosa are fungal pathogens able to cause allergic reactions in humans and infect plants of Brassica species. The rate of their development and subsequent spore release depend on weather conditions. The aim of this paper was to pinpoint the exact meteorological conditions triggering the release of L. maculans and L. biglobosa ascospores in central and eastern Poland. Multiple regressions indicated that the frequency and amount of rainfall over short periods were important in mediating spore release. The first ascospore event depended mainly on the number of rainy days during the first 10 days of July and the cumulative precipitation during July and September. The most important variables for maximum spore release were cumulative rainfall in the beginning of July and the end of September, as well as the number of days with precipitation events in the first 10 days of August. The results highlighted for the first time the importance of the days preceding the collection of oilseed rape plants from the field. Higher moisture content of senescing but still living stems play a crucial role in the early start of the ascospore season and the maximum release of ascospores. The population dynamics ofDaphnia rosea were studied in a small, eutrophic fish-free pond during November 1986–November 1987.D. rosea showed two density peaks in 1987, a high peak in spring and a slightly lower one in autumn, but they disappeared in mid- and late summer when a smaller cladoceran,Ceriodaphnia reticulata, dominated. The rapid decline in density ofD. rosea in mid-May and the low density in June/July were preceded by or coincided with a period of increased male density, the appearance of ephippial females, smaller body length of adult females, decreased brood size, and increased frequency of empty brood chambers, all of which indicate a worsening food situation. The rapid density decline ofD. rosea in mid-May was considered attributable neither to increasing water temperature, nor predation by the dipteranChaoborus flavicans, but to insufficient food conditions for the maintenance of stable reproduction. Although edible phytoplankton was abundant in June/July, the general food situation was not suitable forD. rosea due to blooms of the large-celled dinoflagellate,Ceratium hirundinella, which probably inhibited the feeding activity ofD. rosea. TheC. hirundinella blooms might also be important for the shift of the dominant herbivore from the largerD. rosea to the smallerCeriodaphnia reticulata in August/September.  相似文献

Phycobilisomes (PBS) were isolated from blue-green algaSpirulina platensis. Scanning tunneling microscope was used to investigate the three-dimensional structure of PBS deposited on freshly cleaved highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) in ambient condition at room temperature. The results showed that the rods of PBS radiated from the core to different directions in the space other than arrayed in one plane, which was different from the typical hemi-discoidal model structure. The diameter of PBS was up to 70 nm, and the rod was approximately 50 nm in length. Similar results were observed in Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film of PBS. The dissociated PBS could reaggregate into rod-like structures and easily form two-dimensional membrane while being absorbed on HOPG, however, no intact PBS was observed. The filling-space model structure of PBS inSpirulina platensis with STM from three-dimensional real space at nanometer scale was found, which showed that this new structural model of PBS surely exists in blue-green algae and red algae. The function of this structural model of PBS was also discussed.  相似文献

The three color morphotypes of the red alga Kappaphycus alvarezii (brown, red and green) were cultured in Camranh Bay, Vietnam, using the fixed off-bottom monoline culture method to evaluate the growth rate, carrageenan yield, 3,6-anhydrogalactose, gel strength and lectin content. The brown morphotype was cultivated over a 12-month period; the red and green morphotypes were over a 6-month period. At the 60-day culture timepoint, the brown morphotype showed a higher growth rate (3.5–4.6% day−1) from September to February, and lower growth rate (1.6–2.8% day−1) from March to August. Significant (P < 0.05) differences in growth rate between culture months were found with the brown morphotype. High growth rates for the red (3.6–4.4% day−1) and green (3.7–4.2% day−1) morphotypes were obtained from September to February. The carrageenan yield, 3,6-anhydrogalactose and gel strength of the three morphotypes showed little variation, with the highest values obtained in November–December. At the 30-day sampling point, the brown morphotype had a higher lectin content (167–302 μg g−1 dry alga) from August to March and a lower lectin content (23–104 μg g−1 dry alga) from April to July. High lectin contents were recorded for the red (139–338 μg g−1 dry alga) and green (124–259 μg g−1 dry alga) morphotypes from September to February. This study shows that the different morphotypes of K. alvarezii can be grown in the tropical waters of the Camranh during the northeast monsoon, and part of the southwest monsoon, especially the brown morphotype, which can be grown during any season.  相似文献

Metamorphosis season of megalopae to the first crab stage in snow crab Chionoecetes opilio and red snow crab C. japonicus was inferred by culturing wild-born megalopae collected from the Sea of Japan. Metamorphosis occurred from late June to late July (mainly in July) in snow crab, and from early July to early October (mainly from August to September) in red snow crab. The number of days required from the time of collection to metamorphosis was less than the intermoult period previously reported for snow crab megalopae. However, the developmental period of the megalopae was estimated as substantially longer in red snow crab than in snow crab. Previous studies have shown that the hatching season and the period of the zoeal stage in both two species are similar. These results suggest that a different metamorphosis season between the two species would be due to a difference in their megalopal intermoult period.  相似文献

We estimate fluctuations in population size and sex ratio, documentbreeding behavior and reproduction, and determine the diet of a population ofthe lesser long-nosed bat, Leptonycteris curasoae, in anisland cave in Chamela Bay, Jalisco, Mexico, with monthly sampling during anannual cycle (October 1999–October 2000). Based on the area of thecave's ceiling and wall covered with L. curasoae inrelation to the potential roost area without them, in 1999 the abundanceincreased from 80% in October to 100% in November and December. In 2000 thepopulation decreased to 80% in January, 50% in February, 30% in March, 20% inApril, 10% in May, 5% in June and July, and less than 1% in August. Thepopulation rapidly increased to 60% in September and to 80% in October.Throughout the year there were significantly more males than females; however,there was significant heterogeneity over months. In September–Novemberthere were more females, but in December–August there were more malespresent. The majority of pregnant and lactating females were observed fromDecember to March and in July, while males were reproductive fromSeptember–January and in May–June. Breeding activity was observed inthe cave in November–December. Twenty-six species of plants were consumedduring the year, based on pollen identification from fecal samples. Bombacaceousspecies were the most important component of the diet from January to May andCactaceae were most important in June–September. Peak abundance and reproductive activitycoincided with peak flower resource availability, which occurred between Octoberand January and in June–July. The year-round presence and reproductiveactivity of L. curasoae at this site throughout the yeardemonstrate that many individuals are annual residents in this area and indicatethe importance of this roosting site. In order to develop a successfulconservation program for L. curasoae, in addition toprotecting migratory corridors and northern maternity roosts, it is equallyimportant to identify and protect areas that function as breeding colonies andyear-round sanctuaries for resident populations in the south.  相似文献

Vegetative and reproductive morphology and ultrastructure were examined for the three genera of the freshwater red algal family Lemaneaceae: Lemanea (two species, seven populations), Paralemanea (two species, three populations) and Psilosiphon (one species, one population). Psilosiphon is readily distinguished from the other two genera in having an outer cortex composed of well-defined filaments interconnected with a dense medulla (both cell types being little vacuolated), spores cleaving off obliquely, putative spermatangia scattered on the thallus surface and reproduction by adventitious filaments. Based on the distinctness of this genus (and corroborated by molecular phylogenies in preparation), a new family is described, the Psilosiphonaceae. Lemanea and Paralemanea appear to be closely related, with an outer cortex that has cells of increasing size and vacuolation from the periphery to the interior and not in obvious rows, a central lumen that contains few ray cells but no medullary filaments, sexual reproduction with spermatangia in distinct clusters, and carpospores in chains, some of which can germinate in the thallus lumen. Lemanea and Paralemanea have distinguishing characteristics that the other genus does not: for Lemanea, hair cells, ray cells abutting the outer cortex and spermatangia in patches; for Paralemanea, no hair cells or ray cells appressed to the outer cortex, inner cortical filaments surrounding the central axis and spermatangia in rings.  相似文献
