In pepper, the TMV resistance locus L is syntenic to the tomato I2 and the potato R3 loci on chromosome 11. In this report, we identified pepper bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones corresponding to the I2 and R3 loci and developed L-linked markers using the BAC sequence information. A BAC library was screened using the tomato I2C-1 gene as a probe. The resulting clones were sorted further by PCR screening, sequencing, and genetic mapping. A linkage analysis revealed that BAC clone 082F03 could be anchored to the target region near TG36 on chromosome 11. Using the 082F03 sequence, more BAC clones were identified and a BAC contig spanning 224 kb was constructed. Gene prediction analysis showed that there were at least three I2/R3 R gene analogs (RGAs) in the BAC contig. Three DNA markers closely linked (about 1.2 cM) to the L 4 gene were developed by using the BAC contig sequence. The single nucleotide polymorphism marker 087H3T7 developed in this study was subjected to linkage analysis in L 4 - and L 3 -segregating populations together with previously developed markers. The 189D23M marker, which is known to co-segregate with L 3 , was located on the opposite side of 087H3T7, about 0.7 cM away from L 4 . This supports the idea that L 3 and L 4 may be different genes closely linked within the region instead of different alleles at the same locus. Finally, use of flanking markers in molecular breeding program for introgression of L 4 to elite germplasm against most aggressive tobamoviruses pathotype P1,2,3 is discussed.  相似文献

A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library of common carp Cyprinus carpio L. was constructed as a part of ongoing common carp genome project, which is aiming assembly of common carp genome. The library, containing a total of 92,160 BAC clones with an average insert size of 141 kb, was constructed into the restriction site of Hind III on BAC vector CopyControl pCC1BAC, covering 7.7 X haploid genome equivalents. Three dimension pools and superpools of the BAC library were established and 23 positive clones of 14 targets were identified from one-fifth of the BAC library. Pilot project of BAC end sequencing was conducted on 2,688 BAC ends from 1,344 clones and harvested 2,522 high-quality Q20 sequences with average length of 677 bp. The sequencing success rate was 93.8% and pair-end success rate was 92.3%. A total of 212 microsyntenies had been established between common carp and zebrafish genomes as a trial for genome-wide comparative genomics in these two closely related species.  相似文献

The tobamovirus resistance gene L 3 of Capsicum chinense was mapped using an intra-specific F2 population (2,016 individuals) of Capsicum annuum cultivars, into one of which had been introduced the C. chinense L 3 gene, and an inter-specific F2 population (3,391 individuals) between C. chinense and Capsicum frutescence. Analysis of a BAC library with an AFLP marker closely linked to L 3-resistance revealed the presence of homologs of the tomato disease resistance gene I2. Partial or full-length coding sequences were cloned by degenerate PCR from 35 different pepper I2 homologs and 17 genetic markers were generated in the inter-specific combination. The L 3 gene was mapped between I2 homolog marker IH1-04 and BAC-end marker 189D23M, and located within a region encompassing two different BAC contigs consisting of four and one clones, respectively. DNA fiber FISH analysis revealed that these two contigs are separated from each other by about 30 kb. DNA fiber FISH results and Southern blotting of the BAC clones suggested that the L 3 locus-containing region is rich in highly repetitive sequences. Southern blot analysis indicated that the two BAC contigs contain more than ten copies of the I2 homologs. In contrast to the inter-specific F2 population, no recombinant progeny were identified to have a crossover point within two BAC contigs consisting of seven and two clones in the intra-specific F2 population. Moreover, distribution of the crossover points differed between the two populations, suggesting linkage disequilibrium in the region containing the L locus. We constructed a sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library of the monosomic addition line PAT2. This chromosomal mutant carries a single additional chromosome fragment (minichromosome) derived from the wild beet Beta patellaris. Restriction analysis of the mutant line by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis was used to determine HindIII as a suitable enzyme for partial digestion of genomic DNA to generate large-insert fragments which were cloned into the vector pCC1. The library consists of 36,096 clones with an average insert size of 120 kb, and 2.2% of the clones contain mitochondrial or chloroplast DNA. Based on a haploid genome size of 758 Mbp, the library represents 5.7 genome equivalents providing the probability of 99.67% that any sequence of the PAT2 genome can be found in the library. Hybridization to high-density filters was used to isolate 89 BACs containing arrays of the centromere-associated satellite repeats pTS5 and pTS4.1. Using the identified BAC clones in fluorescent in situ hybridization experiments with PAT2 and Beta patellaris chromosome spreads their wild beet origin and centromeric localization was demonstrated. Multi-colour FISH with differently labelled satellite repeats pTS5 and pTS4.1 was used to investigate the large-scale organization of the centromere of the PAT2 minichromosome in detail. FISH studies showed that the centromeric satellite pTS5 is flanked on both sides by pTS4.1 arrays and the arms of the minichromosome are terminated by the Arabidopsis-type telomeric sequences. FISH with a BAC, selected from high-density filters after hybridization with an RFLP marker of the genetic linkage group I, demonstrated that it is feasible to correlate genetic linkage groups with chromosomes. Therefore, the PAT2 BAC library provides a useful tool for the characterization of Beta centromeres and a valuable resource for sugar beet genome analysis.  相似文献

A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library of banana (Musa acuminata) was used to select BAC clones that carry low amounts of repetitive DNA sequences and could be suitable as probes for fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on mitotic metaphase chromosomes. Out of eighty randomly selected BAC clones, only one clone gave a single-locus signal on chromosomes of M. acuminata cv. Calcutta 4. The clone localized on a chromosome pair that carries a cluster of 5S rRNA genes. The remaining BAC clones gave dispersed FISH signals throughout the genome and/or failed to produce any signal. In order to avoid the excessive hybridization of repetitive DNA sequences, we subcloned nineteen BAC clones and selected their ‘low-copy’ subclones. Out of them, one subclone gave specific signal in secondary constriction on one chromosome pair; three subclones were localized into centromeric and peri-centromeric regions of all chromosomes. Other subclones were either localized throughout the banana genome or their use did not result in visible FISH signals. The nucleotide sequence analysis revealed that subclones, which localized on different regions of all chromosomes, contained short fragments of various repetitive DNA sequences. The chromosome-specific BAC clone identified in this work increases the number of useful cytogenetic markers for Musa.  相似文献

Powdery mildew of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is caused by the ascomycete fungus Blumeria graminis f.sp. tritici. Genomic approaches open new ways to study the biology of this obligate biotrophic pathogen. We started the analysis of the Bg tritici genome with the low-pass sequencing of its genome using the 454 technology and the construction of the first genomic bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library for this fungus. High-coverage contigs were assembled with the 454 reads. They allowed the characterization of 56 transposable elements and the establishment of the Blumeria repeat database. The BAC library contains 12,288 clones with an average insert size of 115 kb, which represents a maximum of 7.5-fold genome coverage. Sequencing of the BAC ends generated 12.6 Mb of random sequence representative of the genome. Analysis of BAC-end sequences revealed a massive invasion of transposable elements accounting for at least 85% of the genome. This explains the unusually large size of this genome which we estimate to be at least 174 Mb, based on a large-scale physical map constructed through the fingerprinting of the BAC library. Our study represents a crucial step in the perspective of the determination and study of the whole Bg tritici genome sequence.  相似文献

Owing to its diverse sex types, the cucumber plant has been studied widely as a model for sex determination. In addition to environmental factors and plant hormones, three major genes—F/f, M/m, and A/a—regulate the sex types in the cucumber plant. By combining the bulked segregant analysis (BSA) and the sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) technology, we identified eight markers linking to the M/m locus. Among them, the two closely linked SRAP markers flanking the M/m locus were the co-dominant marker ME1EM26 and the dominant marker ME1EM23. Further, the co-dominant marker ME8SA7 co-segregated with the M/m locus. With the chromosome walking method using the cucumber genomic bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library, we successfully developed a co-dominant SCAR marker S_ME1EM23 from the ME1EM23 sequence. Along with the other two co-dominant SCAR markers S_ME1EM26 and S_ME8SA7 (developed from ME1EM26 and ME8SA7, respectively) in a larger segregating population (900 individuals), the M/m locus was mapped between S_ME1EM26 (5.4 cM) and S_ME1EM23 (0.7 cM), and S_ME8SA7 co-segregated with it. Aluminium (Al) tolerance in barley is conditioned by the Alp locus on the long arm of chromosome 4H, which is associated with Al-activated release of citrate from roots. We developed a high-resolution map of the Alp locus using 132 doubled haploid (DH) lines from a cross between Dayton (Al-tolerant) and Zhepi 2 (Al-sensitive) and 2,070 F2 individuals from a cross between Dayton and Gairdner (Al-sensitive). The Al-activated efflux of citrate from the root apices of Al-tolerant Dayton was 10-fold greater than from the Al-sensitive parents Zhepi 2 and Gairdner. A suite of markers (ABG715, Bmag353, GBM1071, GWM165, HvMATE and HvGABP) exhibited complete linkage with the Alp locus in the DH population accounting 72% of the variation for Al tolerance evaluated as relative root elongation. These markers were used to map this genomic region in the Dayton/Gairdner population in more detail. Flanking markers HvGABP and ABG715 delineated the Alp locus to a 0.2 cM interval. Since the HvMATE marker was not polymorphic in the Dayton/Gairdner population we instead investigated the expression of the HvMATE gene. Relative expression of the HvMATE gene was 30-fold greater in Dayton than Gardiner. Furthermore, HvMATE expression in the F2:3 families tested, including all the informative recombinant lines identified between HvGABP and ABG715 was significantly correlated with Al tolerance and Al-activated citrate efflux. These results identify HvMATE, a gene encoding a multidrug and toxic compound extrusion protein, as a candidate controlling Al tolerance in barley.  相似文献

Ppd-D1 on chromosome 2D is the major photoperiod response locus in hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum). A semi-dominant mutation widely used in the “green revolution” converts wheat from a long day (LD) to a photoperiod insensitive (day neutral) plant, providing adaptation to a broad range of environments. Comparative mapping shows Ppd-D1 to be colinear with the Ppd-H1 gene of barley (Hordeum vulgare) which is a member of the pseudo-response regulator (PRR) gene family. To investigate the relationship between wheat and barley photoperiod genes we isolated homologues of Ppd-H1 from a ‘Chinese Spring’ wheat BAC library and compared them to sequences from other wheat varieties with known Ppd alleles. Varieties with the photoperiod insensitive Ppd-D1a allele which causes early flowering in short (SD) or LDs had a 2 kb deletion upstream of the coding region. This was associated with misexpression of the 2D PRR gene and expression of the key floral regulator FT in SDs, showing that photoperiod insensitivity is due to activation of a known photoperiod pathway irrespective of day length. Five Ppd-D1 alleles were found but only the 2 kb deletion was associated with photoperiod insensitivity. Photoperiod insensitivity can also be conferred by mutation at a homoeologous locus on chromosome 2B (Ppd-B1). No candidate mutation was found in the 2B PRR gene but polymorphism within the 2B PRR gene cosegregated with the Ppd-B1 locus in a doubled haploid population, suggesting that insensitivity on 2B is due to a mutation outside the sequenced region or to a closely linked gene. Apomixis is a form of asexual reproduction through seed and has the potential to be applied, to great benefit, to agriculture. Understanding the genetic control of apomixis has proven to be a challenging task because the trait is mainly present in wild species and genetic mapping is often impaired by a block of recombination. A physical mapping approach has therefore been undertaken to unlock the genetic control of apomixis in Paspalum simplex Morong, a species with a relatively small genome and which exhibits a degree of genetic synteny with rice. In this paper, we report on the construction of a bacterial artificial chromosome library for Paspalum simplex with a coverage of approximately three genome equivalents and an average insert size of 94 kb. The BAC library was screened with 19 sequence characterized amplified region markers which were 100% linked to apomixis and a recombinant SCAR marker, all developed through a bulked segregant analysis strategy. A mini-sequencing procedure reported in the literature greatly aided the direct development of SCAR markers from amplified fragment length polymorphism bands. Several BAC clones linked to apomixis were identified and assembled into seven contigs and 18 singletons. Two of the BAC clones identified contained independently isolated markers. This is the first such report in an apomictic model that lacks recombination at the locus. We believe that extension of the contigs coupled to high-throughput sequencing will help the understanding of the genomic structure of the apomixis locus in P. simplex.  相似文献

The H1 locus confers resistance to the potato cyst nematode Globodera rostochiensis pathotypes 1 and 4. It is positioned at the distal end of chromosome V of the diploid Solanum tuberosum genotype SH83-92-488 (SH) on an introgression segment derived from S. tuberosum ssp. andigena. Markers from a high-resolution genetic map of the H1 locus (Bakker et al. in Theor Appl Genet 109:146–152, 2004) were used to screen a BAC library to construct a physical map covering a 341-kb region of the resistant haplotype coming from SH. For comparison, physical maps were also generated of the two haplotypes from the diploid susceptible genotype RH89-039-16 (S. tuberosum ssp. tuberosum/S. phureja), spanning syntenic regions of 700 and 319 kb. Gene predictions on the genomic segments resulted in the identification of a large cluster consisting of variable numbers of the CC-NB-LRR type of R genes for each haplotype. Furthermore, the regions were interspersed with numerous transposable elements and genes coding for an extensin-like protein and an amino acid transporter. Comparative analysis revealed a major lack of gene order conservation in the sequences of the three closely related haplotypes. Our data provide insight in the evolutionary mechanisms shaping the H1 locus and will facilitate the map-based cloning of the H1 resistance gene.  相似文献

The Rvi15 (Vr2) apple scab resistance locus found in the GMAL 2473 accession has been previously mapped to the top of the Linkage Group 2 (LG2) by analyzing 89 progeny plants of a cross between ‘Idared’ and GMAL 2473. A new population of 989 progeny plants, derived from a cross between ‘Golden Delicious’ and GMAL 2473, has been analyzed with the two SSR markers CH02c02a and CH02f06, previously found to be associated with Rvi15 (Vr2), and with two published markers derived from NBS sequences (ARGH17 and ARGH37) estimated to map close to the Rvi15 (Vr2) locus. ARGH17 and ARGH37, were found to be the closest markers to the resistance locus, bracketing it within an interval of 1.5 cM. The SSRs mapped one on each side of Rvi15 (Vr2). CH02f06 mapped at 2.9 cM from ARGH37 while CH02a02a mapped at 1.7 from ARGH17. The position of Rvi15 (Vr2) respect to CH02a02a indicates that Rvi15 (Vr2) and Rvi4 (Vh4), a second apple scab gene mapped on the top of LG2, are two different resistance genes. In order to develop even more tightly linked markers to Rvi15 (Vr2), ARGH17 was used as the starting point for chromosome walking through the Rvi15 (Vr2) homolog region of the cv. ‘Florina’. A single ‘Florina’ BAC clone, 36I17, was sufficient to span the homologous locus in the new population’s recombinant progeny. Sequencing of the 36I17 BAC clone allowed identifying seven putative ORFs, including two showing a TIR-NBS-LRR structure. Ten additional markers could be developed mapping within a 1.8 cM interval around the Rvi15 (Vr2) resistance gene. ARGH17 and GmTNL1 markers, the latter also derived from NBS-LRR resistance gene homolog sequence, are the closest markers to Rvi15 (Vr2) bracketing it within a 0.5 cM interval. The availability of 12 markers within the Rvi15 (Vr2) region, all within a small physical distance (kbp) in ‘Florina’, suggests that cloning of the Rvi15 (Vr2) apple scab resistance gene from GMAL 2473 will be possible.  相似文献

In plants, the C-repeat binding factors (Cbfs) are believed to regulate low-temperature (LT) tolerance. However, most functional studies of Cbfs have focused on characterizing expression after an LT shock and have not quantified differences associated with variable temperature induction or the rate of response to LT treatment. In the Triticeae, rye (Secale cereale L.) is one of the most LT-tolerant species, and is an excellent model to study and compare Cbf LT induction and expression profiles. Here, we report the isolation of rye Cbf genes (ScCbfs) and compare their expression levels in spring- and winter-habit rye cultivars and their orthologs in two winter-habit wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars. Eleven ScCbfs were isolated spanning all four major phylogenetic groups. Nine of the ScCbfs mapped to 5RL and one to chromosome 2R. Cbf expression levels were variable, with stronger expression in winter- versus spring-habit rye cultivars but no clear relationship with cultivar differences in LT, down-stream cold-regulated gene expression and Cbf expression were detected. Some Cbfs were expressed only at warmer acclimation temperatures in all three species and their expression was repressed at the end of an 8-h dark period at warmer temperatures, which may reflect a temperature-dependent, light-regulated diurnal response. Our work indicates that Cbf expression is regulated by complex genotype by time by induction–temperature interactions, emphasizing that sample timing, induction–temperature and light-related factors must receive greater consideration in future studies involving functional characterization of LT-induced genes in cereals. Defence-response (DR) genes are candidates for the genetic functions underlying quantitative resistance to plant pathogens. The organization of three DR gene families encoding phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), acidic PR-(pathogenesis-related) protein 5, and basic PR-5, or osmotin-like (OSM), proteins was studied in the potato genome. A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library containing ~50,000 clones was constructed from high-molecular weight genomic DNA of the diploid potato clone PD59, a hybrid between Solanum tuberosum and S. phureja. BAC clones carrying one or more copies of the DR genes were identified and characterized by Southern hybridization, sequence analysis and genetic mapping. PAL, acidic PR-5 and OSM (basic PR-5) genes were all organized into gene families of varying complexity. The PAL gene family consisted of at least 16 members, several of which were physically linked. Four acidic PR-5 homologous were localized to a 45-kb segment on potato chromosome XII. One of these, PR-5/319, codes for the acidic thaumatin-like protein C found in intercellular fluids of potato. Nine OSM genes were organized at two loci: eight form a 90-kb cluster on chromosome VIII, and a single gene was found on chromosome XI. The topology of a phylogenetic tree based on PR-5 and OSM protein sequences from Solanaceae suggests a mode of evolution for these gene families. The results will form the basis for further studies on the potential role of these defence-related loci in quantitative resistance to pathogens.  相似文献

The greenbug, Schizaphis graminum (Rondani), is an important aphid pest of small grain crops especially wheat (Triticum aestivum L., 2n = 6x = 42, genomes AABBDD) in many parts of the world. The greenbug-resistance gene Gb3 originated from Aegilops tauschii Coss. (2n = 2x = 14, genome DtDt) has shown consistent and durable resistance against prevailing greenbug biotypes in wheat fields. We previously mapped Gb3 in a recombination-rich, telomeric bin of wheat chromosome arm 7DL. In this study, high-resolution genetic mapping was carried out using an F2:3 segregating population derived from two Ae. tauschii accessions, the resistant PI 268210 (original donor of Gb3 in the hexaploid wheat germplasm line ‘Largo’) and susceptible AL8/78. Molecular markers were developed by exploring bin-mapped wheat RFLPs, SSRs, ESTs and the Ae. tauschii physical map (BAC contigs). Wheat EST and Ae. tauschii BAC end sequences located in the deletion bin 7DL3-0.82–1.00 were used to design STS (sequence tagged site) or CAPS (Cleaved Amplified Polymorphic Sequence) markers. Forty-five PCR-based markers were developed and mapped to the chromosomal region spanning the Gb3 locus. The greenbug-resistance gene Gb3 now was delimited in an interval of 1.1 cM by two molecular markers (HI067J6-R and HI009B3-R). This localized high-resolution genetic map with markers closely linked to Gb3 lays a solid foundation for map based cloning of Gb3 and marker-assisted selection of this gene in wheat breeding.  相似文献

Durum wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum, 2n = 4x = 28, genomes AB) is an economically important cereal used as the raw material to make pasta and semolina. In this paper we present the construction and characterization of a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library of tetraploid durum wheat cv. Langdon. This variety was selected because of the availability of substitution lines that facilitate the assignment of BACs to the A and B genome. The selected Langdon line has a 30-cM segment of chromosome 6BS from T. turgidum ssp. dicoccoides carrying a gene for high grain protein content, the target of a positional cloning effort in our laboratory. A total of 516,096 clones were organized in 1,344 384-well plates and blotted on 28 high-density filters. Ninety-eight percent of these clones had wheat DNA inserts (0.3% chloroplast DNA, 1.4% empty clones and 0.3% empty wells). The average insert size of 500 randomly selected BAC clones was 131 kb, resulting in a coverage of 5.1-fold genome equivalents for each of the two genomes, and a 99.4% probability of recovering any gene from each of the two genomes of durum wheat. Six known copy-number probes were used to validate this theoretical coverage and gave an estimated coverage of 5.8-fold genome equivalents. Screening of the library with 11 probes related to grain storage proteins and starch biosynthesis showed that the library contains several clones for each of these genes, confirming the value of the library in characterizing the organization of these important gene families. In addition, characterization of fingerprints from colinear BACs from the A and B genomes showed a large differentiation between the A and B genomes. This library will be a useful tool for evolutionary studies in one of the best characterized polyploid systems and a source of valuable genes for wheat. Chromosomal inversions are ubiquitous in Drosophila both as intraspecific polymorphisms and interspecific differences. Many gaps still remain in our understanding of the mechanisms that generate them. Previous work has shown that in Drosophila buzzatii, three polymorphic inversions were generated by ectopic recombination between copies of the transposon Galileo. In this study, we have characterized the breakpoint regions of inversion 5g, fixed in D. buzzatii and absent in Drosophila koepferae and other closely related species. A novel approach comprising four experimental steps was used. First, D. buzzatii BAC clones encompassing the breakpoints were identified and their ends sequenced. Then, breakpoint regions were mapped at high resolution in the Drosophila mojavensis genome sequence. Finally, breakpoint regions were isolated by polymerase chain reaction in D. buzzatii and D. koepferae and sequenced. Our aim was to shed light on the mechanism that generated inversion 5g and specifically to test for an implication of the transposon Galileo. No evidence implicates Galileo or other transposable elements in the origin of inversion 5g that was generated most likely by two independent breaks and non-homologous end-joining repair. Our results show that different inversion-generating mechanisms may coexist within the same lineage and suggest a hypothesis for the evolutionary time and mode of their operation. Two experiments were performed to determine how application of the cytokinin benzyladenine (BA) influenced flowering in Doritaenopsis and Phalaenopsis orchid clones. In the first experiment, two vegetative orchid clones growing in 15-cm pots were transferred from a 28°C greenhouse that inhibited flowering to a 23°C greenhouse for flower induction (day 0). A foliar spray (0.2 L m−2) containing BA at 100, 200, or 400 mg L−1 or 25, 50, or 100 mg L−1 each of BA and gibberellins A4 + A7 (BA+GA) was applied on days 0, 7, and 14. Plants treated with BA alone at 200 or 400 mg L−1 had a visible inflorescence 3–9 days earlier and had a mean of 0.7–3.5 more inflorescences and 3–8 more flowers per plant than nontreated plants. The application of BA+GA had no effect on inflorescence number and total flower number at the rates tested. In the second experiment, three orchid clones received a single foliar spray of BA at 200 mg L−1 at six time points relative to time of transfer from 29°C to 23°C (−1, 0, +1, +2, +4, or +6 weeks). A separate group of plants received a BA application at week 0 but was maintained at 29°C. Inflorescence number was greatest in all three orchid clones when plants were treated with BA 1 week after the temperature transfer. Plants that were sprayed with BA and maintained at 29°C did not initiate inflorescences. The promotion of flowering by the application of BA suggests that cytokinins at least partially regulate inflorescence initiation of Doritaenopsis and Phalaenopsis, but its promotion is conditional and BA application cannot completely substitute for an inductive low temperature.  相似文献

Three dominant resistance genes, Pr3, Pr4, and Pr5, were identified by genetic analysis of resistance to leaf rust in rye (Puccinia recondita f. sp. secalis). Each of the three genes confers resistance to a broad scale of single-pustule isolates (SPIs), but differences could be observed for specific Pr gene/SPI combinations. Resistance conferred by the three genes was effective in both detached-leaf tests carried out on seedlings and in field tests of adult plants. Molecular marker analysis mapped Pr3 to the centromeric region of rye chromosome arm 1RS, whereas Pr4 and Pr5 were assigned to the centromeric region of 1RL. Chromosomal localization and reaction patterns to specific SPIs provide evidence that the three Pr genes represent distinct and novel leaf-rust resistance genes in rye. The contributions of these genes to resistance breeding in rye and wheat are discussed. The authors dedicate this paper to Prof. Dr. H.H. Geiger, University of Hohenheim, on the occasion of his 65th birthday. An erratum to this article can be found at  相似文献
