In this study, pollen grains and anatomical features of Turkish lilies were investigated under the electron (SEM) and light (LM) microscope. LM and SEM observations showed that the pollen grains are monosulcate, heteropolar, elliptical in polar view and oblate. Numerical results based on combined palynological and anatomical characters were discussed and compared with traditional taxonomic treatments. It was found that the midrib shape, mesophyll type, P/E (polar/equatorial), sulcus length, and lumina width are the most valuable traits in separating the examined taxa. The numerical analysis showed that Lilium candidum L. differs from the rest Turkish Lilium and also confirmed a close relationship between L. szovitsianum Fisch. & Avé-Lall. and L. armenum Miscz. ex Grossh. Also this study is the first report dealing with anatomical and palynological features of all Turkish lilies.  相似文献

The first specimens of Allium elmaliense were collected in Elmal? (Antalya/Turkey) in 2001 and were described as new species in 2004. However, Allium elmaliense was claimed as synonym of Allium cyrilli in 2006. This study was undertaken to reveal the differences between these taxa utilizing morphological, palynological, and chromosome characters and genomic differences based on the DNA analyses along with the ecological preference studies conducted during 2006 and 2011. The results clearly indicated differences between these two taxa in terms of morphological characters, pollen, seed surfaces and niche preferences. Chromosome morphology and Td-DAMD-PCR fingerprinting studies revealed that Allium elmaliense Deniz & Sümbül is a distinct species and not a synonym of A. cyrilli Ten.  相似文献

This study concerns the evaluation of leaf anatomical characteristics of the closely related genera Matricaria (4 taxa) and Tripleurospermum (14 endemic taxa, 15 accessions) in Turkey using cluster analysis (CA) and principal component analysis (PCA). All taxa have the same basic leaf structure composed of lower and upper epidermis including anomocytic or anomocytic-anisocytic stomata, parenchymatic mesophyll, and vascular bundle. Statistically significant differences based on ploidy level have been found without generic delimitation. The differences mainly concern stomatal length and the relative size of the vascular bundle. These anatomical characters can be used to distinguish diploid from polyploid taxa of the genera.  相似文献

不同种源鹅掌楸苗木叶解剖性状的遗传多样性   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
以5个鹅掌楸种源的1年生苗木成熟叶片为材料,对叶表皮、叶片横切面及主脉横切面的16个解剖性状进行观察和变异性分析。结果表明:鹅掌楸叶解剖性状在种源间及种源内存在极丰富的变异,除下表皮密度在种源间差异不显著外,其余性状在种源间及种源内(包括下表皮密度)均存在极显著差异。种源间的平均表型分化系数为27.5%,说明鹅掌楸叶片结构的主要性状存在于种源内的变异(72.5%)远大于种源间的变异。鹅掌楸叶的解剖性状与地理生态因子的相关分析表明,其种源间的变异呈现梯度规律性,表皮各性状与经度、年均温呈负相关关系,叶片和主脉横切面各性状与经度、纬度大部分呈正相关关系,而与年降水量、年均温大都呈负相关关系。用种源间欧式距离进行UPGMA聚类,可将5个种源的鹅掌楸划分为3个类群。  相似文献

A total of 104 taxa, belonging to 27 genera, were recorded from 36 moss samples collected in the Strømness Bay area. Cluster analysis revealed two groups of samples. Group 1 consisted of the Achnanthes incognita–Fragilaria germainii assemblage and the Eunotia paludosa var. paludosa assemblage. Group 2 included the Pinnularia borealis assemblage. The major ecological factor dividing the two groups appears to be the moisture content of the samples. Group 1 represents wetter conditions, and the second group is found on very dry mosses. The assemblages of group 1 were separated from each other by pH. The Achnanthes incognita–Fragilaria germainii assemblage occurs in wet mosses with a circumneutral pH. The Eunotia paludosa var. paludosa assemblage prefers bryophyte habitats with low pH values. The size of Pinnularia borealis drops significantly according to the dryness of the moss habitat.  相似文献

Teucrium creticum L. and T. orientale L. var. orientale are two related taxa in Teucrium sect. Teucrium . In this study, the value of anatomical and micromorphological characters for distinguishing between these two taxa is analysed. Transverse sections of the stem, as well as both transverse and surface sections of the leaves were examined anatomically. According to the data obtained, collenchyma and sclerenchyma do grow more in T. creticum than in T. orientale var. orientale . The leaves of T. creticum are hypostomatic and have a characteristic hypodermis, which is under the upper epidermis, as well as abundant spherocrystals in the upper epidermis. The leaves of T. orientale var. orientale are amphistomatic, yet no spherocristals exists in epidermal cells and the hypodermis is absent. The results obtained from studies carried out under scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows that the nutlet micromorphology varies between the two taxa. In both taxa, the nutlet surfaces are reticulate and glandular. Eglandular hairs do occur. However, in T. orientale var. orientale , 20–60 μm long eglandular hairs with scabrid surface occur only along the margins of the nutlets, whereas the ¾ dorsal sides of the nutlets in T. creticum are all covered with 90–500 μm long, smooth-surfaced hairs. Additionally, while the glandular hairs on the nutlets of T. creticum are subsessile, those on the nutlets of T. orientale var. orientale are capitate and distinctly stalked.  相似文献

In this study, the anatomical features of the leaf and stem, besides the nutlet characteristics of some Teucrium sect. Isotriodon (Lamiaceae) taxa in Turkey, T. montbretii Betham subsp. montbretii, T. montbretii subsp. pamphylicum P. H. Davis, T. odontites Boiss. &; Bal., T. cavernarum P. H. Davis, T. antitauricum T. Ekim, along with an isolated population of T. montbretii (T. montbretii subsp.) were investigated. The anatomical studies revealed that the taxa share generally similar anatomical characters, such as thicker upper leaf cuticles and larger upper leaf epidermal cells compared to lower ones and diacytic to anomocytic stomata on the leaves. However, the portion of the mesophyll occupied by palisade parenchyma and the occurrence of mucilage cells in leaf epidermis shows difference among the taxa. Furthermore, the studied taxa have general stem characteristics of the Lamiaceae family, except for having poorly developed collenchyma at the corners. With the amphistomatic leaves and developed sclerenchymatic tissue in the leaf median vein, T. cavernarum is seperated from the other taxa. Trichome types on the vegetative organs and nutlet shape and sculpturing are generally the same or similar in the studied taxa, but trichomes on the nutlets are different among them. Based on nutlet characteristics and some morphological ones, it was revealed that the isolated population of T. montbretii represent a new subspecies, T. monbretii subsp. yildirimlii M.Dinç &; S.Do?u subsp. nov.  相似文献

Leaf epidermal (micromorphological and micromorphometric) features of the leaf blade were examined with light and scanning electron microscopy in 49 Central European natural populations of species belonging to subgenera Schedonorus and Drymanthele within the genus Festuca L. In addition, molecular biological (random amplified polymorphic DNA) studies were conducted on selected populations. The goal of the study was to reveal the degree of anatomical and genetic variability at the taxon and population level, as well as to determine the most important characters that allow differentiation of the taxa in these two subgenera. The anatomical variation was compared with the genetic distance between taxa. Investigated taxa exhibited great anatomic variability in terms of both qualitative (presence or absence, shape and appearance of various cell types) and quantitative characters (frequency and size of cells). Strong correlation was found between the genetic distance of populations and the frequency and size of silica cells in the costal zone of the epidermis, which indicates that silica cells are largely determined by the genetic background, regardless of varying environmental conditions. Our studies highlight that despite the high level of variability in anatomical features and genetic polymorphism, these fescue populations clearly segregate both in terms of epidermal structure and genetic constitution.  相似文献

Desmodium diversity has been mainly classified using fruit characters, and because of variability in these and other characters, the taxonomy has sometimes been problematic and thus, there is a need for clarification and taxonomic reassessments. This is the case for the Desmodium procumbens group, where several infraspecific taxa have been named. The phylogenetic relationships among taxa referred to this group is unknown, and the taxonomic status has been recently revised only for some of the taxa. In this study, pollen morphology and ultrastructure of D. neomexicanum, D. procumbens var. procumbens, D. procumbens var. exiguum, D. procumbens var. longipes and D. procumbens var. transversum, belonging to the Mexican Desmodium procumbens group, were examined using light, phase-contrast, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy, in order to establish palynological characters that might contribute to a better taxonomic resolution. Pollen grains are tricolporate, radiosymmetric, oblate spheroidal to prolate spheroidal shape, with lalongate endoapertures and rugulate exine with foveolae between rugulae. The exine is tectate with a columellate and/or granulate structure. The absence of a fastigium, features of exine sculpture, a colpus membrane and infrastructure mainly dominated by granules differentiate the pollen grains of the varieties exiguum and transversum from the other taxa studied. Pollen traits and sequence data provide evidence for separating D. neomexicanum from species D. procumbens. In general, the result from the pollen analysis is congruent with results obtained from a preliminary molecular analysis of this group.  相似文献

为阐明顶坛花椒人工林叶片功能性状的海拔分异规律,探讨顶坛花椒对不同海拔生境的适应策略,该研究测定了叶片厚度、比叶面积、叶全氮含量等9个功能性状和土壤有机碳、全氮、全磷等8个环境因子,揭示了顶坛花椒人工林叶片功能性状的内在关联及其随海拔的分异规律。结果表明:(1)随海拔升高,顶坛花椒比叶面积、叶全磷、叶全钾含量先升高后降低,叶干物质含量、叶全氮含量先降低后逐渐升高,叶片厚度、叶面积及叶片含水率逐渐增大。(2)顶坛花椒叶片功能性状间具有显著的相关性,叶全氮与叶全磷呈显著负相关,与叶片厚度的关系则相反;叶干物质含量与比叶面积、叶片含水率呈显著的抑制效应。(3)土壤因子对顶坛花椒叶片的影响表现为速效氮速效钾有机碳,其他土壤因子的影响较小。研究显示顶坛花椒主要通过增强防御功能性状、协调叶片养分含量的生存策略来提高获取资源和抵御外界环境胁迫的能力,对土壤养分具有强烈的依赖性,其干旱适应属性为干旱避免,该研究为顶坛花椒人工林复壮、高产与稳定,及喀斯特石漠化区生态修复提供科学依据。  相似文献

研究了人工种植的3年生南方红豆杉的生长发育特征及其枝叶中紫杉醇的含量,并观测了其生长环境因子的动态特征。通过对南方红豆杉的生长发育特征以及其枝叶中紫杉醇含量与生长环境因子进行相关分析发现,南方红豆杉生长发育与空气和土壤湿度呈极显著的正相关,与空气和土壤温度、土壤N和K含量、土壤有机质和土壤紧实度呈正相关,与净辐射和土壤P含量呈负相关,但相关关系不显著,说明高温、高湿以及遮荫有利于南方红豆杉的生长,且对土壤P含量有较高需求;南方红豆杉枝叶中紫杉醇含量与空气和土壤湿度、土壤N、P和K含量呈负相关,与净辐射、空气和土壤温度、土壤有机质和土壤紧实度呈正相关,但相关关系均不显著,说明高温、高光强和干旱促进南方红豆杉枝叶中紫杉醇含量的增加,且紫杉醇含量的增加对土壤中N、P和K含量有一定的需求,尤其是N和K,对P需求不大;南方红豆杉生长发育与其枝叶中紫杉醇含量呈负相关,相关关系也不显著,推测紫杉醇可能是南方红豆杉的防御物质,以促使南方红豆杉抵御高温、干旱和高光强等不良环境。  相似文献

The subalpine meadows of the Rocky Mountains, USA, are at the advancing front of global change; however, little is known about the sensitivities of high-elevation soil fungal communities to ongoing ecological changes. Soil fungi are sensitive to abiotic and biotic environmental stressors, including climate change, soil disturbance, and the presence of introduced, non-native plants. Invasive plants in the Brassicaceae (mustard family) are known to alter fungal community structure, suppress arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, and change their relationship with native plant hosts in forest ecosystems, but these phenomena have not been studied in the subalpine zone where non-native mustard plants are becoming established. Here, we investigated whether the presence of the introduced mustard plant, Thlaspi arvense, is associated with distinct properties of the whole fungal and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities in subalpine meadow ecosystems. We observed clear differences in the composition, relative abundance of core taxa, and mean taxon relatedness of soil fungal communities in plots with T. arvense relative to those with only native vegetation. A suite of novel fungi were associated with T. arvense, and overall patterns of AMF phylogenetic diversity were drastically reduced in association with its presence. Our results suggest that T. arvense introduction impacts the soil fungal community, with potential implications for native plant communities and soil nutrient cycling in high elevation meadows of the Rocky Mountains.  相似文献

Rosularia globulariifolia (Fenzl) A. Berger and R. pallidiflora (Holmboe) Meikle were originally described as species in Umbilicus DC. in 1842 and 1914, respectively. In the present study, morphological and palynological features were examined in detail to determine the status of these taxa. The general characteristics, seed structure and micromorphology, pollen measurements and pollen characteristics were established. Morphologically, the two taxa cannot easily be distinguished. Pollen grains of both species are tricolporate, subspheroidal and eutectate, ornamentation is psilate and exine structures are similar. Based on morphological and palynological similarities, and the fact that both taxa are found in the same habitats, we propose that R. pallidiflora should be reduced to the rank of variety as Rosularia globulariifolia (Fenzl) A. Berger var. pallidiflora (Meikle) Minareci & K. Yildiz comb. et stat. nov.  相似文献

Cell size is a key ecological trait of soil microorganisms that determines a wide range of life history attributes, including the efficiency of nutrient acquisition. However, because of the methodological issues associated with determining cell sizes in situ, we have a limited understanding of how cell abundances vary across cell size fractions and whether certain microbial taxa have consistently smaller cells than other taxa. In this study, we extracted cells from three distinct soils and fractionated them into seven size ranges (5 μm to 0.2 μm) by filtration. Cell abundances in each size fraction were determined by direct microscopy, with the taxonomic composition of each size fraction determined by high-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene. Most of the cells were smaller than cells typically grown in culture, with 59 to 67% of cells <1.2 μm in diameter. Furthermore, each size fraction harbored distinct bacterial and archaeal communities in each of the three soils, and many of the taxa exhibited distinct size distribution patterns, with the smaller size fractions having higher relative abundances of taxa that are rare or poorly characterized (including Acidobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes, Crenarchaeota, Verrucomicrobia, and Elusimicrobia). In general, there was a direct relationship between average cell size and culturability, with those soil taxa that are poorly represented in culture collections tending to be smaller. Size fractionation not only provides important insight into the life history strategies of soil microbial taxa but also is a useful tool to enable more focused investigations into those taxa that remain poorly characterized.  相似文献

Twelve taxa belonging to two subsections of section Idaeobatus in Rubus L. from southwestern China were characterized by karyotypic, palynological, and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) data as follows: (1) The 12 taxa were all diploid species (2n = 2x = 14), among which the chromosome counts for R. mesogaeus var. oxycomus, R. subtibetanus, R. ellipticus var. obcordatus, R. inopertus var. echinocalyx, and R. stans were reported for the first time; (2) All taxa except for R. ellipticus and R. pinfaensis could be distinguished from each other by karyotype, pollen morphology, and RAPD markers. Karyotypes were mainly characterized by the difference in numbers and positions of submetacentric chromosomes and chromosomes with satellited pair, the index of the karyotypic asymmetry, and the ratio of the longest to the shortest chromosome. Pollen morphology were mainly characterized by the discrepancy in specific pollen size, P/E ratio, colpi width, distance between the apices of two ectocolpi, and exine ornamentation characters. The cluster results based on RAPD markers were consistent with morphology classification except for R. pinfaensis; (3) Based on the general data of karyotypic, palynological, and RAPD, R. ellipticus var. obcordatus should be treated as a species R. obcordatus, R. ellipticus and R. pinfaensis should be combined as R. ellipticus, and it was more reasonable to place the combinants and R. obcordatus into subsection Stimulantes rather than into subsection Pungentes.  相似文献

Teucrium montanum L. and T. polium L. are the two closest Teucrium L. species from sect. Polium (Mill.) Schreb in Turkey. In addition, they are sympatric for some part of their range in Turkey. In this study, comparative anatomical and micromorphological studies of the two species are carried out. They have been investigated by their leaf and stem anatomical features, as well as nutlet micromorphological characteristics. The results of anatomical studies show that the anatomical characters of both taxa are observed to be similar to the general features of the family Lamiaceae anatomy, except for lacking rich collenchyma at the corners. Both taxa are similar in stem anatomy and their leaves exhibit xeromorphy. However, trichome morphology on the stems and the leaves appear to have a taxonomic value in segregation of the two taxa. Light and scanning electron microscope studies on the nutlets also show that nutlet shapes, measures and surface micromorphologies are different in the two species. Whereas nutlet surfaces are bireticulate in both species, the nutlets are larger and primary sculpturing is more distinct in T. polium than in T. montanum. Moreover, the nutlets are oblong to oblong-ovoid and larger in T. polium, but ovoid and smaller in T. montanum.  相似文献

The Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean skates (Rajidae) showed remarkable species diversity but with high morphological and ecological conservatism. Since skates are particularly vulnerable to the bottom trawl fishery, species-specific demographic surveys as well as studies defining life history and evolutionary traits are important in prioritising conservation programs. However, the identification of juveniles and adults of some species may be difficult using referenced guidelines and identification keys. Therefore, we attempt to develop markers for species identification through the parallel analysis of a 16S rDNA gene sequence and of several morphological characters on 135 individuals collected by trawl surveys in the Adriatic Sea and putatively assigned to six taxa. Species-specific haplotypes were defined for Raja miraletus, Raja montagui, Dipturus oxyrinchus, since a solid accordance between species boundaries and well-differentiated haplotypes was observed. Comparative analysis of 16S rDNA sequences allowed the identification of three juvenile specimens of Leucoraja circularis, a species that rarely occurs in the Adriatic Sea. On the contrary, morphological traits and haplotype distribution were largely discordant in Raja asterias and R. clavata. While all putative R. clavata individuals showed a unique haplotype (H-CLA), only 8 of 30 putative R. asterias individuals possessed a second weakly divergent haplotype (H-AST). The remaining 22 R. asterias carried the H-CLA. The multivariate analyses of morphometric and meristic characters in putative R. clavata and R. asterias revealed the clustering of individuals regardless of haplotypes. However, a bimodal distribution of R. asterias and R. clavata samples would suggest that two separated taxa might exist, both sharing the two 16S rDNA haplotypes. The haplotype distribution appeared to be significantly correlated only to the standardised disc length/total length (DL/TL) variation. Three alternative explanations may support this scenario: (i) an incomplete lineage sorting process in two morphologically yet distinct taxa; (ii) a recent hybridisation between the two taxa; (iii) the two taxa are morphologically plastic species and all considered morphological characters may be misleading in discriminating between them at all maturity stages, except for the DL/TL. However, further analyses on larger data sets and using molecular key markers (i.e. nuclear genes) will be needed to definitely resolve the status of these taxa. Molecular relationships among rajid taxa are largely consistent with systematics based on internal and external anatomical features. This multidisciplinary study contributed to defining the pattern of species diversity and abundance of rajids in the Adriatic Sea.  相似文献

The somatic muscular systems of two species of Seisonacea (Rotifera), Seison nebaliae and Paraseison annulatus, are described using fluorescently labelled phalloidin in combination with confocal laser scanning microscopy. Their overall muscular arrangement is similar and consists of segmentally organised longitudinal fibres that extend the length of the body and are surrounded by semi-circular (= incomplete) bands. However, differences in the musculature between the two species are present and possibly reflect specific adaptations in feeding strategy and locomotion related to the occupation of individual niches on their host, the leptostracan crustacean N. bipes. For example, S. nebaliae has semi-circular muscles in the head region only, while P. annulatus possesses incomplete circular muscles also in the trunk region; furthermore, there are also differences in the arrangements and number of longitudinal muscles. The muscular systems of all rotifer species examined so far are compared in order to establish the ground pattern of the last putative ancestor as well as to seek for traits of systematic importance. Results from both species corroborate earlier hypotheses on the arrangement of muscles in the putative common ancestor of Rotifera, which suggested an orthogonal arrangement consisting of a series of probably continuous (not segmental) inner longitudinal muscles, surrounded by semi-circular fibres, ventrally opened. However, significant morphological and ecological variations among taxa investigated so far show that a consistent correlation between muscular traits and specific ecological features and/or phylogeny is still far from being clear. Hence, musculature of additional taxa, representing the systematic width and occupying a diverse range of habitats, should be investigated.  相似文献

Considering the importance of extrafloral nectaries (EFNs) in Fabaceae, the objectives of this research were to analyze (1) the anatomical and histochemical characteristics of the EFNs of Chamaecrista ramosa var. ramosa, C. ramosa var. curvifoliola, C. ramosa var. parvifoliola, and C. ramosa var. lucida and (2) the ultrastructure of the EFNs of C. ramosa var. ramosa. Standard techniques in plant anatomy and transmission electron microscopy were used. The anatomical analyses confirmed the characteristics described for extrafloral nectaries, evidencing three well-defined regions: epidermis, nectariferous, and subnectariferous parenchymas. Carbohydrates, proteins, pectins/mucilages, and lipids were detected by histochemical analyzes in all varieties. The ultrastructure of the EFNs of C. ramosa var. ramosa allowed the observation of microchannels at the external periclinal cell walls of the epidermis covering the secretory region. The nectariferous and subnectariferous parenchyma cells have periplasmic spaces, large plastids containing starch grains and plastoglobules, mitochondria, developed endoplasmic reticulum, large vacuoles with electron-dense contents, and membrane residues may be associated with the vacuole, suggesting the occurrence of autophagic processes. The anatomical, histochemical, and ultrastructural patterns revealed characteristics that confirm the glands of C. ramosa as extrafloral nectaries and suggest the eccrine mechanism of secretion.  相似文献
