The longitudinal patterns of the macroinvertebrate community in the Xiangxi Bay of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) were investigated during the second (2nd) and third (3rd) impoundment stages (October 2006–July 2010), to test the effects of increased water level fluctuations (WLF) on the macroinvertebrates. By comparing to the former reports of the first (1st) impoundment stage (inter‐annual WLF 4 m), we found that oligochaetes dominated in three different stages in the Xiangxi Bay. However, the total abundance of macroinvertebrates showed a dramatical decline from the 1st to 2nd stage (inter‐annual WLF 11 m), but changed slightly from the 2nd to 3rd stage (inter‐annual WLF 30 m). This indicated that higher WLF in the 2nd stage had already greatly reduced the macroinvertebrates abundance, thereby the disturbance in the 3rd stage could only slightly affect the already reduced abundance. Three longitudinal zones (the mainstream zone, the lacustrine zone and the transitional zone) were found based on the macroinvertebrate density, biomass, and taxa richness, combined with the geographical location of each site. Significant differences in density and biomass of macroinvertebrate were found among different zones (P < 0.05), yet no significant difference was found in taxa richness (P > 0.05). Two‐way indicator species analysis showed that the community type in most sites varied in different seasons from the 2nd stage, exhibiting a dynamic zonation pattern, which differed with the stable pattern of the 1st stage. From July 2003 to June 2005, investigations of rotifer temporal and spatial distributions were car‐ried out in a bay of the Three Gorges Reservoir, Xiangxi Bay, which is the downstream segment of the Xiangxi River and the nearest bay to the Three Gorges Reservoir dam in Hubei Province, China. Thirteen sampling sites were selected. The results revealed a high species diversity, with 76 species, and 14 dominant species; i.e., Polyarthra vulgaris, Keratella cochlearis, Keratella valga, Synchaeta tremula, Synchaeta stylata, Trichocerca lophoessa, Trichocerca pusilla, Brachionus angularis, Brachionus calyciflorus, Brachionus forficula forficula, Ascomorpha ovalis, Conochilus unicornis, Ploesoma truncatum and Anuraeopsis fissa. After the first year of the reservoir impoundment, the rotifer community was dominated by ten species; one year later it was dominated by eight species. The community in 2003/2004 was dissimilar to that in 2004/2005, which resulted from the succes‐sion of the dominant species. The rotifer community exhibited a patchy distribution, with significant heterogeneity observed along the longitudinal axis. Algal bloom phenomenon was defined as “the rapid growth of one or more phytoplankton species which leads to a rapid increase in the biomass of phytoplankton”, yet most estimates of temporal coherence are based on yearly or monthly sampling frequencies and little is known of how synchrony varies among phytoplankton or of the causes of temporal coherence during spring algal bloom. In this study, data of chlorophyll a and related environmental parameters were weekly gathered at 15 sampling sites in Xiangxi Bay of Three‐Gorges Reservoir (TGR, China) to evaluate patterns of temporal coherence for phytoplankton during spring bloom and test if spatial heterogeneity of nutrient and inorganic suspended particles within a single ecosystem influences synchrony of spring phytoplankton dynamics. There is a clear spatial and temporal variation in chlorophyll a across Xiangxi Bay. The degree of temporal coherence for chlorophyll a between pairs of sites located in Xiangxi Bay ranged from –0.367 to 0.952 with mean and median values of 0.349 and 0.321, respectively. Low levels of temporal coherence were often detected among the three stretches of the bay (Down reach, middle reach and upper reach), while high levels of temporal coherence were often found within the same reach of the bay. The relative difference of DIN between pair sites was the strong predictor of temporal coherence for chlorophyll a in down and middle reach of the bay, while the relative difference in Anorganic Suspended Solids was the important factor regulating temporal coherence in middle and upper reach. Contrary to many studies, these results illustrate that, in a small geographic area (a single reservoir bay of approximately 25 km), spatial heterogeneity influence synchrony of phytoplankton dynamics during spring bloom and local processes may override the effects of regional processes or dispersal. Stream inlets into shallow bays of reservoirs and lakes may be ‘hot‐spots’ for toxic cyanobacterial bloom initiation. These ‘hot‐spots’ may be connected with the permanent inflow of high nutrient concentrations from the catchment, optimal physical conditions (wind protected areas) that occur in shallow areas and/or ineffective top‐down control. Four sampling sites along a transect from stream to reservoir in a shallow bay of Sulejow Reservoir (Poland) were studied to test the above hypothesis, comprising a transition zone between lotic and pelagic habitats. Investigations showed that stream inlet into shallow bay acted as incubator for Microcystis blooms. The nutrient level, especially phosphorus, was identified as the major cause of cyanobacterial bloom growth. The increase of Microcystis biomass strongly correlated with increasing microcystin concentrations, however, a relationship with microcystin content was not observed. The Three Gorges Dam was built in 2005 with a storage capacity of 39.3 billion m3, ranking 22nd in the world. However, since the impoundment of the reservoir, serious blooms of phytoplankton have occurred. Rotifers, having a key role in the freshwater aquatic food web, are important grazers of phytoplankton and an essential food resource to higher trophic consumers. To explore the impacts of phytoplankton blooms on the rotifer community, daily and vertical surveys of rotifers were conducted in a bay of the Three Gorges Reservoir (Xiangxi Bay). Altogether 46 rotifer species were registered, and Synchaeta tremula, Polyarthra vulgaris, and Brachionus calyciflorus were the most abundant species accounting for 36, 26, and 16% of the mean rotifer densities, respectively. Although these dominant species always prevailed in the rotifer community, their proportions changed significantly from non-bloom phase to bloom phase, e.g., the significance of S. tremula deceased from 46.8 to 33.2%, while P. vulgaris and B. calyciflorus increased from 23.9 and 13.9% to 26.2 and 16.2%, respectively. In the vertical water column, all the rotifer following phytoplankton displayed an aggregated distribution, concentrating at the upper layers (0.5–5 m), especially during the bloom phase. From the non-bloom phase to the bloom phase, rotifer densities, the dominant rotifers, Shannon–Wiener and Margalef’s diversity increased significantly, while the evenness displayed the opposite trend. Non-metric multidimensional scaling analysis (NMDS) revealed that the samples in the non-bloom phase were well separated from those in the bloom phase. This means that the outbreak of the diatom bloom in the Xiangxi Bay had significant impacts on the rotifer community. Further investigations are needed to address the impacts of the changes of rotifer community on higher trophic levels.  相似文献

莱州湾春季鱼卵仔稚鱼群落结构和物种多样性   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
于2007—2010年春季(5月)利用大型浮游生物网对莱州湾海域位置相同的12个站位进行4个航次拖网调查,研究分析了该海域鱼卵仔稚鱼群落组成、优势种、空间分布及其多样性特征。结果表明:4个航次共获得鱼卵、仔稚鱼26种,隶属于6目16科24属,1种衔科鱼卵鉴定到科,另有1种鱼卵未能鉴定种类。鱼卵、仔稚鱼分布不均匀,莱州湾西部还湾底海域分布较多。斑鰶(Konosiruspunctatus)为该海域鱼卵的第一优势种;鳀(Engraulisjaponicus)在2007年和2008年作为仔稚鱼的第一优势种出现,而2009年和2010年仔稚鱼的第一优势种则是虾虎鱼。调查期间该海域鱼卵、仔稚鱼的均匀度指数和生物多样性指数变化趋势一致,均表现为从2007年开始随年代递减的趋势;种类数和丰富度指数则从2008年开始呈现随年代递减的趋势。2007—2010年4a鱼卵仔稚鱼聚类结果显示,2007年和2008年鱼卵仔稚鱼群落结构相似,与2009年和2010年均有差异。与1982年山东省近岸调查结果相比,莱州湾海域鱼卵仔稚鱼群落结构发生明显变化,斑鰶取代鳀成为第一优势种,小黄鱼等经济鱼类数量逐渐降低。  相似文献

2008年6-8月,三峡水库香溪河库湾相继暴发蓝藻和绿藻水华.依据香溪河库湾夏季的每周监测,对研究区2次水华分别进行聚类和判别分析,研究了2次水华的时空动态及其影响因素.结果表明:研究区2次水华过程均可划分为无水华组、过渡组和水华组;2次水华的暴发对可溶性硅(DSi)、硝态氮与亚硝态氮(NO3--N+NO2--N)和磷酸盐(PO43--P)3种营养盐的吸收程度不同;蓝藻水华暴发期间的DSi、总氮/总磷(TN/TP)、DSi/TN和DSi/TP值均低于绿藻水华;判别蓝藻水华暴发的参数为叶绿素a(Chl a)、TN和PO43--P,而Chl a和DSi则是绿藻水华暴发的判别因子,将2次水华过程划分为水华组和无水华组的判别效果更好;判断蓝藻和绿藻水华暴发的叶绿素a临界浓度分别为40和20 μg·L-1.  相似文献

Xiangxi Bay, a typical bay of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) in China, was formed in June 2003 after the impoundment of the TGR. We investigated the community structure of zoobenthos in Xiangxi Bay from August 2003 to August 2004. Benthic abundance and biomass were calculated per unit area of sediment. A total of 26 taxa were identified. They included two families of Lamellibranchia (7.7% of the total taxa number), two families of Oligochaeta (50%), Chironomidae (38.5%), and one other animal (3.8%). The average density and biomass were 276 ind./m2 and 0.301 g/m2, respectively. Oligochaetes and chironomids constituted the major groups, and Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, Procladius sp., Branchiura sowerbyi, Tubificidae sp1. and Polypedilum scalaenum group sp. were the common taxa in this reservoir system. Among them, L. hoffmeisteri and Procladius sp. were the dominant species, and contributed 37.0% and 28.3% of the total density, respectively. The standing crop of zoobenthos in Xiangxi Bay was relative low, compared with other similar reservoirs. Our studies demonstrate that the standing crop increased gradually with time. The total density and biomass in August 2004 were 8.8 and 14.3 times those of the initial impoundment, separately. The cyanobacterial diversity of Sidi Boughaba, a Moroccan coastal lagoon and Ramsar site, was evaluated and its potentially toxic species were isolated and characterised. This study was the first time that cyanobacterial diversity and cyanotoxin production have been characterised in a Moroccan coastal lagoon. Samples collected in June 2004, July 2008 and August 2013 contained 41 species. Three strains of cyanobacteria were isolated, cultured and assessed for their potentially toxic levels of microcystins. Only Microcystis flos-aquae exhibited the presence of microcystins, at a concentration of 823.41 µg g?1 as MC-LR equivalents. MC-RR and MC-WR were also detected. The presence of toxic Microcystis and other potentially toxic strains, especially in periods of bloom proliferations, could pose environmental and health hazards. Cyanotoxin monitoring of this lagoon is highly recommended.  相似文献

Phytoplankton biomass and species composition were studied from June to September 1991 at the mouth of four major rivers and in the freshwater (sal. 0 %), the estuarine (sal. 2–10%) and the coastal (sal. 10–12%) zones of Rupert Bay, located at the southeast tip of James Bay, Canada.A chlorophyll a maximum (5–14 µg 1–1) was observed in the freshwater zone from July to September. Chlorophyll values were low at the mouth of the rivers and in the estuarine and coastal zones (chl a < 1.00 µg 1–1). Diatoms were dominant in the freshwater zone (30–80 % abundance), with flagellates dominating in the estuarine and coastal zones (60–95% abundance). Diversity was low (H: 1.5–2.5) in the freshwater zone and decreased seaward (H: 0.5–1.5).The diatom bloom was composed almost exclusively of the autochthonous planktonic diatom Cyclotella meneghiniana Kütz., which contributed 25–85% of the species composition, and of the subdominant benthic species Diploneis smithii, Navicula lanceolata and Surirella robusta. Peak abundance occurred upstream of the turbidity maximum, in the tidal freshwater zone. In this zone the mean photic depth was 1 m and residence time was from 7 to 8 days during the bloom. Residence time is considered to be the dominant factor controlling the phytoplankton bloom, with light not acting as a limiting factor. The high turbidity due to resuspension and shallow depth of the bay controlled the species composition.  相似文献

Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Since the impoundment in 2003, however, algal blooms have been often observed in the tributary embayments. To control the algal blooms, a thorough understanding of the hydrodynamics (e.g., flow regime, velocity gradient, and velocity magnitude and direction) in the tributary embayments is particularly important. Using a calibrated three-dimensional hydrodynamic model, we carried out a hydrodynamic analysis of a typical tributary embayment (i.e., Xiangxi Bay) with emphasis on the longitudinal patterns. The results show distinct longitudinal gradients of hydrodynamics in the study area, which can be generally characterized as four zones: riverine, intermediate, lacustrine, and mainstream influenced zones. Compared with the typical longitudinal zonation for a pure reservoir, there is an additional mainstream influenced zone near the mouth due to the strong effects of TGR mainstream. The blooms are prone to occur in the intermediate and lacustrine zones; however, the hydrodynamic conditions of riverine and mainstream influence zones are not propitious for the formation of algal blooms. This finding helps to diagnose the sensitive areas for algal bloom occurrence.  相似文献

A study was carried out in 1978–1981 on the relationship between eutrophication and the occurrence of red tides in Bohai Bay.An assessment method using a single parameter as well as the multiparameter Trophic State Index was adopted. DIN, DIP, COD loadings and concentrations and phytoplankton community (species composition, diversity index, standing crop, chlorophyll a and primary productivity) were used as parameters. The western part of the bay and two sewage outfall sites showed the highest values of chlorophyll a, nitrate, phosphate, standing crop, primary productivity and the greatest population instability. Therefore, Bohai Bay, can be regarded as mesotrophic, but its estuary eutrophic. Anthropogenic factors are mainly responsible for its eutrophication. A relationship between environmental factors and red tide species was found. Noctiluca miliaris, Prorocentrum minimum and Skeletonema costatum have their bloom periods from July to September and are the most significant species.  相似文献

In spring, a typical dinoflagellate (Peridiniopsis niei Liu et al.) constitutes most of the phytoplankton biomass in most of eutrophic bay of Three-Gorge Reservoir (TGR, China). There are few field observations on vertical migration of the members of the genus Peridiniopsis. We studied diel vertical migration of the new species (Peridiniopsis niei) at sampling stations A and B in an eutrophic bay (Xiangxi Bay) of TGR during both day and night in March 2007. The present study suggests that vertical migration by Peridiniopsis niei is similar in nature to the migration patterns observed for other dinoflagellates. Solar irradiance incident was an important factor regulating the ascent and descent of Peridiniopsis niei. The vertical descent of Peridiniopsis niei during nighttime was restricted when the thermocline (Temperature gradient >1°C m−1) was present in the station B.  相似文献

2006年7月至2008年8月对象山港13个站位进行了8个航次的大型底栖动物采样调查.研究了该海域大型底栖动物群落的优势种组成, 大型底栖动物的丰度、生物量、次级生产力和P/B值,并采用物种丰富度指数、物种均匀度指数和物种多样性指数分析大型底栖动物物种的多样性.调查共获得大型底栖动物123种,其中软体动物48种,甲壳类33种,鱼类和环节动物多毛类各12种,棘皮动物8种,还包括一些腔肠动物、线虫等.群落中优势种较为集中,且优势度指数较高.该海域大型底栖生物年次级生产力平均值为16.70 ·m-2·a-1,平均P/B值为0.60.对物种丰富度指数(d)、均匀度指数( J )、辛普森多样性指数(D)和香农多样性指数(H)进行双因素方差分析表明,不同站位之间4种指数的差异均高度显著(P<0.01),周年之间4种指数的差异除均匀度指数不显著外(P>0.05),均高度显著(P<0.01).  相似文献

水库生态系统演替是水库生态学研究及水库管理过程中都比较关注的问题。三峡水库自2003年6月成库以来,有关水库生态系统演替的研究却鲜见报道。以三峡水库香溪河库湾底栖动物为研究对象,分析了自2003年8月—2010年7月3个不同蓄水阶段底栖动物群落的演变状况,并对库湾纵向分区格局的动态变化进行了探讨。结果表明,水库蓄水后,摇蚊科和颤蚓科成为第一批定殖者,并以摇蚊科为主;随后,颤蚓科中的霍甫水丝蚓逐渐成为优势类群;直到2004年4月仙女虫科的肥满仙女虫与霍甫水丝蚓共同主导群落。一期蓄水后约1a,底栖动物密度和物种数呈现出明显的增长趋势,空间上呈现出"中间高、两头低"的格局。库湾总体密度于2006年4月达到最高值,高达24146个/m2。二期蓄水导致底栖动物总密度显著降低,而三期蓄水后则变化相对较小。随着时间的增长,库湾底栖动物偶见种出现的频率逐渐降低,群落逐渐趋于稳定。基于TWINSPAN(two-way indicator species analysis)的分析,一期蓄水后期,香溪河库湾纵向上底栖动物群落结构呈现出稳定的分区格局,库湾中部区域呈现出相同的群落类型,无季节变化;而自二期蓄水开始,库湾纵向上大部分样点的群落类型发生改变,表明二期蓄水的干扰较强;之后呈现出季节性波动,此种格局与水位的季节波动相关联,表明三峡水库底栖动物逐渐适应水库周期性的调度,群落结构呈现稳定的季节性周期波动。  相似文献

为了解胶州湾海域鱼类群落结构特征,根据2016—2017年间对胶州湾海域进行的4个航次底拖网调查数据,采用相对重要性指数、生态多样性指数和典范对应分析(canonical correspondence analysis,CCA)、非线性多维标度排序(non-metric multidimensional scaling,NMDS)等方法分析了胶州湾海域鱼类群落的种类组成和多样性特征。结果表明:调查共采集到鱼类46种,隶属2纲10目30科41属,以硬骨鱼纲鱼类为主(45种,97.83%)。其中,鲈形目(Perciformes)最多(22种,47.83%),其次是鲉形目(Scorpaeniformes),占15.22%。种类数季节变化明显,以夏季最高,23种;秋季最低,16种。优势种组成以赤鼻棱鳀(Thryssa kammalensis)、褐菖鲉(Sebastiscus marmoratus)、褐牙鲆(Paralichthys olivaceus)、大泷六线鱼(Hexagrammos otakii)、许氏平鮋(Sebastes schlegeli)和矛尾鰕虎鱼(Chaeturichthys stigmatias)等鱼类为主。多样性分析显示,鱼类物种多样性存在明显的季节差异。多样性指数(H′)季节变化范围为1.668—2.453,以夏季最高,春季最低;均匀度指数(J′)季节变化范围为0.577—0.808,以秋季最高,春季最低;丰富度指数(D′)季节变化范围为2.431—3.123,以冬季最高,秋季最低。典范对应分析表明,水温、盐度、水深和pH是影响胶州湾海域鱼类群落物种组成的主要环境因子,且水温和pH是影响鱼类群落结构及多样性时空变化的主要因子。与历史调查资料相比,由于人类活动对胶州湾生态系统的干扰,鱼类群落结构发生了较大变化,优势种组成更替明显,多样性水平降低,鱼类群落结构趋向简单化。  相似文献

In reservoirs, water level fluctuations strongly influence phytoplankton development. However, studies on the response of phytoplankton in the reservoir-bay to water level fluctuations are very scarce, especially in the highly dynamic reservoir system, for instance, the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) on the Yangtze River in China. Therefore, we carried out weekly monitoring in a typical tributary bay—Xiangxi Bay of the TGR from March 2008 to March 2009, to analyze the dynamics of phytoplankton functional groups, as well as their response to the water level fluctuations and other environmental conditions. The phytoplankton functional groups G (short, nutrient-rich water columns with high light and without nutrient deficiency), M (dielly mixed layers of small eutrophic, low latitude with high insolation and without flushing and low total light) and Lo (summer epilimnia in mesotrophic lakes with segregated nutrients and without prolonged or deep mixing) were the most important in biomass, mainly represented by Pandorina morum and Eudorina elegans, Microcystis aeruginosa, Peridiniopsis niei and Ceratium hirundinella, respectively. The dominant functional groups had close relationships with the water level fluctuations, light and nutrient, etc. Principal components analysis and redundancy analysis indicated that phytoplankton functional groups in Xiangxi Bay were restricted by the mixing regime and other abiotic variables under the influences of the mixing regime. In Xiangxi Bay, the water level fluctuation showed significant correlations with many physicochemical variables, including the mixing depth (r = 0.97, p < 0.001) and the relative water column stability (r = −0.80, p < 0.001). The study implied that water level fluctuations had complex influence on environmental changes and selecting for phytoplankton functional groups in a highly dynamic reservoir-bay. The important characteristics of the dominant phytoplankton functional groups in Xiangxi Bay were also discussed.  相似文献
