The effect of different concentrations of dietary Na from three Na salts (NaCl, NaHCO3 and Na2SO4) was assessed in two experiments carried out on broiler chickens aged from 1 to 35 days. In Exp. 1, diets were supplemented with 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25% Na, which increased the average Na content of the diets to 0.19, 0.24 and 0.30% respectively. In Exp. 2, the amounts of selected Na salts (NaCI and Na2SO4) were reduced and the estimated Na contents of experimental diets amounted to 0.10, 0.13, 0.15 and 0.19%. In view of the risk factors for the development of foot pad dermatitis, our aim was to find an optimum source of Na and to keep dietary Na intake at the minimum level sufficient to support normal growth and acceptable slaughter quality. The present results suggest that the amount of Na required for the undisturbed growth of broilers and adequate feed conversion is not less than 0.15% of additional Na in the starter period (1-14 d), and not less than 0.11% in the grower period (until day 35). Higher dietary Na levels did not lead to further production advantages, and were found to increase the moisture content of droppings. Dry matter concentration of excreta was also affected by Na source. In comparison with NaHCO3, Na2SO4 seemed to be a better alternative for NaCl. Na2SO4 also tended to surpass NaHCO3 as a dietary alternative for NaCl in terms of feed utilisation during the starter period. The applied additional Na levels (0.25 and 0.15%) and Na sources had no effect on the sensory profile and composition of breast meat.  相似文献

Dietary sodium (Na) levels were related to the content of the eggshell matrix. We therefore speculated that dietary Na supplementation as sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) or sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) may improve eggshell quality. Additionally, dietary NaHCO3 or Na2SO4 supplementation may further affect eggshell quality in different ways due to differences in anions. This study investigated and compared the effects of dietary Na supplementation in either NaHCO3 or Na2SO4 form on laying performance, eggshell quality, ultrastructure and components in laying hens. A total of 576 29-week-old Hy-Line Brown laying hens were randomly allocated to 8 dietary treatments that were fed a Na-deficient basal diet (0.07% Na, 0.15% Cl) supplemented with Na2SO4 or NaHCO3 at 0.08, 0.18, 0.23 or 0.33% Na for 12 weeks. No differences were observed in laying production performance with dietary Na supplementation. Dietary Na supplementation resulted in quadratic increases of eggshell breaking strength in both Na2SO4 and NaHCO3 added groups (P < 0.05), and Na2SO4-fed groups had a quadratic increase in the eggshell ratio at week 12 (P < 0.05). Compared with supplementing 0.08% Na, dietary supplementation of 0.23% Na increased the effective thickness (P < 0.05) in both Na2SO4 and NaHCO3 added groups, but decreased the thickness and knob width of the mammillary layer (P < 0.05). A linear increase on the calcium content of the shell was only observed with Na supplementation from NaHCO3 (P < 0.05). No differences were observed in Na contents of the shell with dietary Na supplemented by both sources. Dietary Na addition had a quadratic increase on uronic acid contents of shell membrane in NaHCO3-fed groups (P < 0.05). Moreover, the sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) contents of shell membranes increased linearly with dietary Na supplementation (P < 0.05). Dietary supplementation of 0.23% Na from Na2SO4 increased the sulfated GAG contents of calcified eggshell (P < 0.05). Additionally, compared with NaHCO3-fed groups, Na2SO4-fed groups had higher eggshell breaking strength, thickness, eggshell weight ratio, effective thickness and the sulfated GAG contents of calcified eggshell at week 12. Overall, dietary supplementation of NaHCO3 or Na2SO4 could increase eggshell breaking strength, which may be related to increased sulfated GAG contents in eggshell membranes and improved ultrastructure. Higher eggshell breaking strength, thickness and eggshell ratio could be obtained when the diet was supplemented with 0.23% Na from Na2SO4.  相似文献

Using sand culture, we examined the responses of 6-month-old jack pine (Pinus banksiana Lamb.) seedlings to boron and salinity (sodium chloride and sodium sulfate) treatments. During 4 weeks of treatments, 60 mM NaCl and 60 mM Na2SO4 significantly decreased survival, new shoot length, number of new roots, shoot to root dry weight ratio and transpiration rates. When applied in absence of the salts, B had little effect on the measured variables. However, when applied together with salts, B decreased seedling survival, increased needle injury and altered tissue elemental concentrations in jack pine seedlings. In 2 mM B treatment, B concentration was higher in the shoots than in the roots. However, when 2 mM B was present in NaCl and Na2SO4 treatments, shoot boron concentration declined and greater proportion of B accumulated in the roots. This shift corresponded to a decline in transpiration rates. In plants treated with NaCl, Na accumulated primarily in the shoots, while in Na2SO4-treated plants Na accumulated mostly in the roots. Based on the electrolyte leakage and needle necrosis data, Cl appears to be the major factor contributing to seedling injury and B aggravates the injurious effects of NaCl. We suggest that Cl may contribute to Na and B toxicity in jack pine by altering cell membrane permeability leading to increased Na concentration in the shoots.  相似文献

Salinity is a widespread environmental problem limiting productivity and growth of plants. Halophytes which can adapt and resist certain salt stress have various mechanisms to defend the higher salinity and alkalinity, and epigenetic mechanisms especially DNA methylation may play important roles in plant adaptability and plasticity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the different influences of various single salts (NaCl, Na2SO4, NaHCO3, Na2CO3) and their mixed salts on halophyte Chloris. virgata from the DNA methylation prospective, and discover the underlying relationships between specific DNA methylation variations and specific cations/anions through the methylation-sensitive amplification polymorphism analysis. The results showed that the effects on DNA methylation variations of single salts were ranked as follows: Na2CO3> NaHCO3> Na2SO4> NaCl, and their mixed salts exerted tissue-specific effects on C. virgata seedlings. Eight types of DNA methylation variations were detected and defined in C. virgata according to the specific cations/anions existed in stressful solutions; in addition, mix-specific and higher pH-specific bands were the main type in leaves and roots independently. These findings suggested that mixed salts were not the simple combination of single salts. Furthermore, not only single salts but also mixed salts showed tissue-specific and cations/anions-specific DNA methylation variations.  相似文献

Sorghum variety Longza 17 was used as the experimental organism in a study of the effects of different types of sodium salt (two neutral salts, NaCl and Na2SO4; and two alkaline salts, NaHCO3 and Na2CO3), at an equivalent Na+ concentration (100?mmol·L?1) on leaf growth parameters and PSII and PSI function by using the Fast Chlorophyll Fluorescence Induction Dynamics technique and 820?nm light reflectance curves. The results showed that at Na+ concentration of 100?mmol·L?1, different types of sodium salt stress significantly inhibited the growth of sorghum plants. Different types of sodium salt stress showed significant inhibition on the activities of PSII and PSI in sorghum leaves, the impact of different types of sodium salt on the activities of PSII and PSI in sorghum leaves was consistent, listed from greatest to least impact as Na2CO3 > NaHCO3 > Na2SO4 > NaCl. The effects of alkaline salt stress on the growth and photosynthetic properties of sorghum were greater than those under the neutral salt stress, therefore, in addition to considering the impact of Na+ concentration in the sorghum planting area, emphasis should also be given to the influence of the degree of alkalization, especially the higher alkalinity of Na2CO3.  相似文献

Summary Osmotic and specific ion effect are the most frequently mentioned mechanisms by which saline substrates reduce plant growth. However, the relative importance of osmotic and specific ion effect on plant growth seems to vary depending on the drought and/or salt tolerance of the plant under study. We studied the effects of several single salts of Na+ and Ca2+−NaCl, NaNO3, Na2SO4, NaHCO3, Na2CO3, and Ca(NO3)2—on the germination and root and coleoptile growth of two wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars, TAM W-101 and Sturdy, the former being more drought tolerant than the latter. The concentrations used were: 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.16, and 0.32 mol L−1. Significant two- and three-way interactions were observed between cultivar, kind of salt, and salt concentration for germination, growth of coleoptile and root, and root/coleoptile ratio. Salts differed significantly (P<0.001) in their effect on seed germination, coleoptile and root growth of both cultivars. Germination of TAM W-101 seeds was consistently more tolerant than that of Sturdy to NaCl, CaCl2, Ca(NO3)2, and NaHCO3 salts at concentrations of 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.16 mol L−1. The osmotic potential, at which the germination of wheat seeds was reduced to 50% of that of the control, was different depending on the kind of salt used in the germination medium. NaCl at low concentrations (0.02 and 0.04 mol L−1) stimulated the germination of both wheat cultivars. At concentrations of 0.02 to 0.16 mol L−1, Ca2+ salts (CaCl2 and Ca(NO3)2) were consistently more inhibitory than the respective Na+ salts (NaCl and NaNO3) for germination of Sturdy. This did not consistently hold true for TAM W-101. Among the Na+ salts, NaCl was the least toxic and NaHCO3 and Na2CO3 were the most toxic for seed germination. Root and coleoptile (in both wheat cultivars) differed in their response to salts. This differential response of coleoptile and root to each salt resulted in seedlings with a wide range of root/coleoptile ratios. For example, the root/coleoptile ratio of cultivar TAM W-101 changed from 2.09 (in the control) to 3.77, 3.19, 2.8, 2.44, 1.31, 0.32, and 0.0 when subjected to 0.08 mol L−1 of Na2SO4, NaCl, CaCl2, NaNO3, Ca(NO3)2, NaHCO3, and Na2CO3, respectively. Na2CO3 at 0.08 mol L−1 inhibited root growth to such an extent that germinated wheat seeds contained coleoptile but no roots. The data indicate that, apart from the clear and more toxic effects of NaHCO3 and Na2CO3 and lesser toxic effect of NaCl on germination and seedling growth, any toxicity-ranking of other salts done at a given concentration and for a given tissue growth may not hold true for other salt concentrations, other tissues and/or other cultivars. The more drought-tolerant TAM W-101, when compared to the less drought tolerant Sturdy, showed higher tolerance (at most concentrations) to NaCl, CaCl2, Ca(NO3)2 and NaHCO3 during its seed germination and to Na2SO4 and CaCl2 for its root growth. This supports other reports that some drought-tolerant wheat cultivars are more tolerant to NaCl. In contrast, the coleoptile growth of drought-sensitive Sturdy was noticeably more tolerant to NaNO3, Ca(NO3)2 and NaHCO3 than that of drought-tolerant TAM W-101. Based on the above and the different root/coleoptile ratios observed in the presence of various salts, it is concluded that in these wheat cultivars: a) coleoptile and root tissues are differently sensitive to various salts, and b) at the germination stage, tolerance to certain salts is higher in the more drought-tolerant cultivar.  相似文献

牛叠肚幼苗对盐碱胁迫的生理响应及其耐盐阈值   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
以盆栽牛叠肚组培苗为试材,比较研究了不同浓度中性盐(NaCl、Na2SO4)和碱性盐(NaHCO3、Na2CO3)胁迫对其生长和生理指标的影响。结果显示:(1)牛叠肚幼苗生长在碱性盐(NaHCO3、Na2CO3)处理下表现出"低促高抑"现象,而在中性盐(NaCl、Na2SO4)处理下均受到不同程度的抑制。(2)随着盐碱胁迫浓度的升高,牛叠肚叶片的相对电导率呈增加趋势,丙二醛(MDA)积累波动变化;Na2SO4和NaHCO3处理下二者之间的变化趋势相似,而NaCl和Na2CO3处理下二者之间变化趋势则不同。(3)牛叠肚叶片中超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性随胁迫浓度增加先升高后下降,而过氧化物酶(POD)活性呈先下降后升高趋势,说明牛叠肚主要通过SOD和POD的互补作用来降低氧化伤害。(4)以相对株高生长量下降50%为标准,求得牛叠肚幼苗对NaCl、Na2SO4、NaHCO3、Na2CO34种单盐的耐受阈值分别为85.18(0.50%,W/V)、40.77(0.58%,W/V)、171.00(1.44%,W/V)、114.20(1.21%,W/V)mmol·L-1。研究表明,各盐碱胁迫使牛叠肚幼苗的生长受到不同程度的抑制,但其在一定浓度范围内通过提高抗氧化酶(SOD、POD)活性来减轻盐碱伤害,维持植株的正常生理代谢;牛叠肚幼苗对碱性盐(NaHCO3、Na2CO3)的耐受能力强于中性盐(NaCl、Na2SO4)。  相似文献

Summary Effect of sodium chloride and sodium sulphate salinities on growth and mineral nutrition of peanut (A. hypogea L.) variety TMV-10 has been studied. Both salts suppressed growth of the plants. The inorganic analysis revealed that NaCl and Na2SO4 caused accumulation of Na, P, Fe and Mn in root, stem, leaf and gynophore. NaCl treatment caused accumulation of Cl in these parts. The uptake of K was hampered by both salts whereas Ca uptake was retarded mainly by Na2SO4. The results are discussed in relation to the salt tolerance capacity of the plant.  相似文献

为明确不同盐胁迫对柳枝稷生物量、品质及光合生理的影响,以无盐胁迫作为对照(CK),选取0.40%Na Cl、0.80%Na2SO4和0.80%Na HCO3进行了土柱试验。结果表明:(1)与CK相比,Na Cl、Na2SO4、Na HCO3胁迫下柳枝稷地上生物量、地下生物量、总生物量、籽粒产量及根冠比均显著降低(P0.05),总生物量分别降低49.39%、60.52%、76.45%,Na HCO3对柳枝稷的生长抑制作用最强,Na Cl最弱;(2)Na Cl胁迫下柳枝稷地上生物质灰分含量显著增高14.89%,Na2SO4胁迫下硫(S)含量显著增高262.32%,纤维素含量显著降低13.71%,Na HCO3胁迫下钾(K)含量显著增高54.95%,半纤维素含量显著增高10.87%,灰分和S含量的增高不利于柳枝稷地上生物质的燃烧利用,纤维素含量的降低和半纤维素含量的增高不利于其转化利用;(3)Na Cl、Na2SO4、Na HCO3胁迫下柳枝稷叶片净光合速率(Pn)分别显著降低21.89%、29.54%和24.59%,气孔限制因素可能是其光合作用受到抑制、生物量下降的关键因素。  相似文献

Sixty male Friesian calves were weaned from milk at 5 weeks of age. From 3 to 11 weeks of age, the calves were offered a diet of barley, meat meal, urea and 15% oat straw, supplemented with sodium chloride (NaCl) or sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). The sodium (Na) contents of the diets supplemented with NaCl were 0.3, 1.1, 1.9 and 2.8%. The sodium contents of the diets supplemented with NaHCO3 were 1.1 and 1.9%.The performance of the calves fed on the diets containing 0.3, 1.1 and 1.9% Na from NaCl was similar, but the organic matter intake and weight gains of the calves fed on the diet containing 2.8% Na were significantly lower between 5 and 11 weeks of age. The feed intake of the calves fed on the diets containing 1.1 and 1.9% Na from NaHCO3 was 8 and 15% greater than the feed intake of the calves fed on the diet containing 0.3% Na. However, there was no significant difference in the intake of organic matter, the efficiency of feed conversion ratios or the weight gains of the calves.The sodium treatments resulted in no significant differences in the concentration of volatile fatty acids in the rumen. 为明确燕麦幼苗对松嫩盐碱草地3种主要盐分Na Cl、Na HCO_3和Na_2CO_3的适应机制,设定不同浓度梯度(48—144 mmol/L)的胁迫处理液,测定燕麦幼苗的生长与生理指标变化。结果表明,尽管试验设定的Na Cl浓度并不影响幼苗的存活率,但在各组胁迫处理下,随着浓度的增加,燕麦幼苗的分蘖数、植株高度、茎叶与根系的生物量均呈下降趋势,下降幅度为Na_2CO_3Na HCO_3Na Cl。另外,与Na Cl胁迫相比,Na_2CO_3与Na HCO_3胁迫下茎叶与根中积累了更多的有毒Na~+,同时K~+下降幅度也更大,并且根系中含有更高的Na~+与更低的K~+以及更高的Na~+/K~+。在Na Cl胁迫下,燕麦幼苗积累大量的无机Cl~-和脯氨酸来维持细胞内的渗透与离子平衡,而Na HCO_3与Na_2CO_3胁迫造成了燕麦幼苗体内阴离子的亏缺,此时幼苗主要通过积累大量的有机酸和更多的脯氨酸来维持渗透与离子平衡。上述结果表明,碱性盐Na_2CO_3与Na HCO_3对植物的胁迫伤害程度大于中性盐Na Cl,并且Na_2CO_3的毒害效应最强,而燕麦幼苗对不同的盐分胁迫伤害也有会产生不同的生理适应策略。  相似文献

Osmotic and ion-specific effects of NaCl and Na2SO4 on Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin ex. Steud. were investigated in a laboratory experiment by examining effects of iso-osmotic solutions of NaCl and Na2SO4 on growth, osmolality of cell sap, proline content, elemental composition and gas exchange. Plants were supplied with a control standard nutrient solution (Ψ = −0.09 MPa) or solutions of NaCl or Na2SO4 at water potentials of −0.50, −1.09 or −1.74 MPa. Salt treatments increased root concentrations of Na and S or Cl, whereas P. australis had efficient mechanisms for exclusion of Na and S and partly Cl ions from the leaves. Incomplete exclusion of Cl from the leaves may affect aboveground biomass production, which was significantly more reduced by NaCl than Na2SO4. Stomatal conductance was negatively influenced by decreasing water potentials caused by NaCl or Na2SO4, implying that a non-significant photosynthetic depression observed in plants grown at −1.74 MPa was mainly due to osmotically induced stomatal closure. This was supported by decreasing internal CO2 concentrations. Saline conditions increased the intrinsic water use efficiency and did not alter photosynthetic parameters derived from light response curves, supporting the assumption of a well-functioning CO2 utilization in salt stressed plants. The leaf proline concentration increased equally in NaCl and Na2SO4-treated plants, and may play an important role as a compatible organic solute. P. australis possesses a range of mechanisms conferring tolerance to both NaCl and Na2SO4 stress and except in terms of growth the phytotoxicity of NaCl and Na2SO4 are comparable.  相似文献

Callus cultures of Nicotiana tabacum L cv. Wisconsin 38 were initiated and grown on shoot-forming (SF) and callus proliferation (CP) medium with or without Na2SO4. Two cultures were maintained on SF medium with 0, 0.75, 1 or 1.5% Na2SO4 for 2.5 and 3.5 years. In the older culture only callus grown on salt formed shoots throughout the maintenance period, while in the younger culture the control responded best and Na2SO4 was inhibitory. Callus from the older culture which had been grown on salt continued to form shoots in the absence of salt. Na2SO4 caused adventitious shoot formation in three cultures on CP medium. These shoots were present for 7 subcultures after removal of Na2SO4; but established, control callus, did not form shoots when transferred to Na2SO4. Callus initiated and maintained on NaCl or mannitol showed a slight increase in shoot initiation. On NaCl, Na2SO4 or mannitol, the tissue osmotic potential became more negative and proline concentration increased.  相似文献

再生水资源可浇灌农田,但水中含有的阴离子可使土壤产生盐胁迫。为研究盐胁迫对藜麦(Chenopodium quinoa)种子萌发特性及胚根、胚芽生长的影响,该研究以6个藜麦品种(红藜麦、国红藜麦、台红藜麦、台紫红藜麦、黄藜麦、台黄红藜麦)为材料,分别以NaCl、Na2SO4、NaHCO3和对照(CK)处理6个藜麦品种种子,测定其发芽率、胚根、胚芽抑制率等指标,运用均方差决策法对不同藜麦品种耐盐性进行综合评价,初步筛选出不同盐胁迫下耐盐性较强的品种。结果表明:(1)三种盐胁迫中,Na2SO4对种子萌发指标抑制作用最明显,6个藜麦品种的发芽率均相对较低,一直保持在5%以下,除黄藜麦、台黄红藜麦,其余4个品种的活力指数和生长速率均为0,除黄藜麦外,Na2SO4 对其余5个藜麦品种的胚根、胚芽抑制率均达到100%;NaCl对种子萌发和生长的抑制作用较小,甚至可促进胚根和胚芽生长,国红藜麦和台黄红藜麦的生长速率在NaCl处理下始终高于对照,在9 ...  相似文献

An experiment was designed to study the effects of sodium chloride and sodium sulphate on growth and inorganic contents inPhaseolus vulgaris (L) cvVaghya. It was noted that except at 2.5 and 5 dS/m Na2SO4, other concentrations of both the salts proved to be inhibitory. NaCl lowered the chlorophyll content while opposite was the trend with Na2SO4. Both the salt caused an increase in leaf thickness and moisture content. Salt rich environment disturbed the normal inorganic metabolism. The contents of Na, Ca, Fe and Mg were greater while those of N, K, Cu and Zn were low. The contents of P and Mn showed a differential response.  相似文献

The effects of two sodium salts on growth, fatty acids, and essential oil compositions were investigated in a medicinal and aromatic plant, Ocimum basilicum cultivated in hydroponic medium. Plants were subjected to an equimolar concentration of Na2SO4 (25 mM) and NaCl (50 mM) for 15 days. Our results showed that leaf growth rate was more depressed by 25 mM Na2SO4 than by 50 mM NaCl. The total fatty acid contents did not show any change in plants. α-Linolenic, palmitic, and linoleic acids were the major fatty acids. The identification of basil leaf fatty acids has not been previously studied and this work revealed the predominance of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Under both salts, leaf fatty acid composition remained unchanged. Regarding the essential oil yield, it decreased significantly by 28 % under 25 mM Na2SO4 and showed an increase by 27 % under 50 mM NaCl. The major volatile compound in leaves was linalool with 34.3 % of total essential oil constituents, followed by eugenol (19.8 %), 1.8-cineole (14.4 %) and methyl eugenol (5.2 %). Further, levels of eugenol and methyl eugenol were most modulated by salt, and the negative correlation between these two compounds reflects the stimulation of O-methyltransferase activity under both salts.  相似文献

The effects of different sodium salts on some physiological parameters and antioxidant responses were investigated in a medicinal and aromatic plant, Ocimum basilicum L. (cultivar Fine). Plants were subjected to an equimolar concentration of Na2SO4 (25?mM) and NaCl (50?mM) for 15 and 30?days. Growth, oxidative stress parameters [electrolyte leakage, peroxidation, and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) concentration], antioxidant enzyme activities [ascorbate peroxidase (APX, EC 1.11.1.11), glutathione reductase (GR, EC 1.6.4.2), and peroxidases (POD, EC 1.11.1.7)], as well as antioxidant molecules [ascorbate and glutathione] were determined. The two salts affected leaf growth rates to the same extent, after 15 or 30?days of treatment, indicating a similar effect of Na2SO4 and NaCl salinity on growth, even if different (enzymatic and non-enzymatic) antioxidant mechanisms were involved in H2O2 detoxification. However, under both salts, the efficiency of the antioxidant metabolism seemed to be sufficient to avoid the deleterious effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Indeed, both ion leakage and peroxidation did not change under either Na2SO4 or NaCl salinity. As a whole, these data suggest that a cooperative process between the antioxidant systems is important for the tolerance of Ocimum basilicum L., cv. Fine to Na2SO4 and NaCl salinity.  相似文献

The ectomycorrhizal fungus Pisolithus tinctorius was grown in vitro with different concentrations and combinations of three different sodium salts viz., sodium chloride, sodium sulphate and trisodium citrate (NaCl, Na2SO4 and Na3C6H5O7) for 30 days. At the end of the experiment the mycelial biomass and protein content of the fungus was evaluated. Based on the salts tested the combination of NaCl and Na2SO4 in optimum concentrations actually promoted the growth of P. tinctorius. Box-Behnken design with three variables like NaCl, Na2SO4 and Na3C6H5O7 was used to identify a significant correlation between the effect of these variables on mycelial biomass production. In a solid state medium using yellow passion fruit waste as substrate, the basidiomycete Ganoderma lucidum produced a laccase as the main ligninolytic enzyme. This crude enzyme presented Michaelian behavior with both substrates tested, namely 3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) and the anthraquinone dye remazol brilliant blue R (RBBR). The KM’s for these substrates were, respectively, 0.232 × 10−3 and 0.602 × 10−3 M. The actions of NaCl and Na2SO4, two important salts usually found in textile wastewaters, were investigated. The enzyme was inhibited by NaCl, but not by Na2SO4. Inhibition by NaCl was of the mixed type with two different inhibition constants. The enzyme was able to completely decolorize RBBR in the presence of 1.0 M Na2SO4 and 50% decolorization was found in the presence of 0.1 M NaCl. Such properties certainly make the enzyme a good agent for textile dye effluent treatment considering the fact that wastewaters of this industry usually contain high concentrations of NaCl and Na2SO4.  相似文献

A protein concentrate was prepared from the seeds of jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis), and the influence of selected Hofmeister salts on functional properties of the protein concentrate was investigated. Results indicated that kosmotropic salts (Na2SO4, NaCl, NaBr) improved water absorption capacity and least gelation concentration of the proteins more than chaotropic salts (NaI, NaClO4, NaSCN) did. The reduction in water absorption capacity followed the Hofmeister trend (Na2SO4 > NaCl > NaBr > NaI > NaClO4 > NaSCN). However, a reverse trend was observed with the foaming and emulsifying properties. These findings are insightful in understanding the structure–property relations of the concentrate.  相似文献
