Fluid shear stress and mechanical wall stress may play a role in the formation of early atherosclerotic lesions, but these quantities are difficult to measure in vivo. Our objective was to quantify these parameters in normal subjects in a clinical setting, and to define regions of low wall shear stress and high mechanical stress. The right carotid bifurcations of five healthy male volunteers were investigated using a novel non-invasive technique which integrates magnetic resonance angiography, ultrasonography, tonometry and state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics and solid mechanics models. Significant inter-subject variations in patterns as well as magnitude of wall shear stress and mechanical stress were found. In spite of individual variabilities, this study revealed that some regions of the artery wall are exposed simultaneously to low wall shear stress and high mechanical stress and that these regions correspond to areas where atherosclerotic plaque develops. The coexistence of regions of low wall shear stress and high tensile stress may be an important determinant of the formation of atheroma in human arteries.  相似文献

Rupture of atherosclerotic plaques is the underlying cause for the majority of acute strokes and myocardial infarctions. Rupture of the plaque occurs when the stress in the plaque exceeds the strength of the material locally. Biomechanical stress analyses are commonly based on pressurized geometries, in most cases measured by in-vivo MRI. The geometry is therefore not stress-free. The aim of this study is to identify the effect of neglecting the initial stress state on the plaque stress distribution. Fifty 2D histological sections (7 patients, 9 diseased coronary artery segments), perfusion fixed at 100 mmHg, were segmented and finite element models were created. The Backward Incremental method was applied to determine the initial stress state and the zero-pressure state. Peak plaque and cap stresses were compared with and without initial stress. The effect of initial stress on the peak stress was related to the minimum cap thickness, maximum necrotic core thickness, and necrotic core angle. When accounting for initial stress, the general relations between geometrical features and peak cap stress remain intact. However, on a patient-specific basis, accounting for initial stress has a different effect on the absolute cap stress for each plaque. Incorporating initial stress may therefore improve the accuracy of future stress based rupture risk analyses for atherosclerotic plaques.  相似文献

Subendothelial accumulation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in arterial walls is an initiator of atherosclerotic plaque formation. We report here on the correlation between healthy state subendothelial LDL concentration distribution and sites of subsequent plaque formation in coronary arteries of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). We acquired left (LCA) and right coronary artery (RCA) and atherosclerotic plaque geometries of 60 patients with CAD using dual-source computed tomography angiography. After virtually removing all plaques to obtain an approximation of the arteries' healthy state, we calculated LDL concentration in the artery walls as a function of local lumen-side shear stress. We found that maximum subendothelial LDL concentrations at plaque locations were, on average, 45% (RCA) and 187% (LCA) higher than the respective average subendothelial concentration. Our results demonstrate that locally elevated subendothelial LDL concentration correlates with subsequent plaque formation at the same location.  相似文献

Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is currently accepted as the gold standard for interventional revascularisation of diseased arteries belonging to the carotid bifurcation. Despite the proven efficacy of CEA, great interest has been generated in carotid angioplasty and stenting (CAS) as an alternative to open surgical therapy. CAS is less invasive compared with CEA, and has the potential to successfully treat lesions close to the aortic arch or distal internal carotid artery (ICA). Following promising results from two recent trials (CREST; Carotid revascularisation endarterectomy versus stenting trial, and ICSS; International carotid stenting study) it is envisaged that there will be a greater uptake in carotid stenting, especially amongst the group who do not qualify for open surgical repair, thus creating pressure to develop computational models that describe a multitude of plaque models in the carotid arteries and their reaction to the deployment of such interventional devices. Pertinent analyses will require fresh human atherosclerotic plaque material characteristics for different disease types. This study analysed atherosclerotic plaque characteristics from 18 patients tested on site, post-surgical revascularisation through endarterectomy, with 4 tissue samples being excluded from tensile testing based on large width-length ratios. According to their mechanical behaviour, atherosclerotic plaques were separated into 3 grades of stiffness. Individual and group material coefficients were then generated analytically using the Yeoh strain energy function. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of each sample was also recorded, showing large variation across the 14 atherosclerotic samples tested. Experimental Green strains at rupture varied from 0.299 to 0.588 and the Cauchy stress observed in the experiments was between 0.131 and 0.779 MPa. It is expected that this data may be used in future design optimisation of next generation interventional medical devices for the treatment and revascularisation of diseased arteries of the carotid bifurcation.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of long-term estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) on the vasodilatory effect of the two peptides vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) in atherosclerotic coronary and cerebral arteries.Female ovariectomized homozygous Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic rabbits were randomized to 16 weeks treatment with 17beta-estradiol or placebo. The diet was semisynthetic, thereby avoiding the influence of phytoestrogens. Artery ring segments were mounted for isometric tension recordings in myographs. Following precontraction, the dose-response relationships for VIP and PACAP were evaluated.Treatment with 17beta-estradiol significantly improved the maximum VIP-mediated vasodilation (E(max), percentage of precontraction) in proximal coronary arteries (45.8+/-9.6% vs. 24.1+/-3.7%, p<0.05). In the same artery segment, 17beta-estradiol induced a significant decrease in the relative ratio between the repeated contractile response to potassium 30 and 120 mM (100+/-7% vs. 132+/-11%, p<0.05). For distal coronary arteries, there was a tendency to similar changes, but no statistical differences for the potassium or VIP responses in cerebral or distal coronary arteries were found between the two groups. 17beta-estradiol induced no changes in the PACAP-mediated vasodilation. These results suggest that long-term treatment with 17beta-estradiol improves the VIP-mediated but not the PACAP-mediated vasodilation in atherosclerotic proximal coronary arteries.  相似文献

Analysis of the passive mechanical properties of rat carotid arteries   总被引:5,自引:1,他引:4
The passive mechanical properties of rat carotid arteries were studied in vitro. Using a tensile testing machine and a piston pump, intact segments of carotid arteries were subjected to large deformations both in the longitudinal and circumferential directions. Internal pressure, external diameter, length and longitudinal force were measured during the experiment and compared with the in vivo dimensions of the segments prior to excision. The anisotropic mechanical properties of the vessel wall material were analyzed using incremental elastic moduli and incremental Poisson's ratios. The results suggest that there is a characteristic deformation pattern common to all vessels investigated which is highly correlated with the conditions of loading that occur in vivo. That is, under average physiological deformation of the vessel, the longitudinal force is nearly independent of internal pressure. In this range of loading the circumferential incremental elastic modulus is nearly independent of longitudinal strain. However, the longitudinal and radial incremental elastic moduli vary significantly with deformation in this direction. The values of the moduli in all three directions increase with raising internal pressure. The weak coupling between circumferential and longitudinal direction in the wall material of carotid arteries is shown by the small value of the corresponding incremental Poisson's ratios.  相似文献

The passive mechanical properties of blood vessel mainly stem from the interaction of collagen and elastin fibers, but vessel constriction is attributed to smooth muscle cell (SMC) contraction. Although the passive properties of coronary arteries have been well characterized, the active biaxial stress-strain relationship is not known. Here, we carry out biaxial (inflation and axial extension) mechanical tests in right coronary arteries that provide the active coronary stress-strain relationship in circumferential and axial directions. Based on the measurements, a biaxial active strain energy function is proposed to quantify the constitutive stress-strain relationship in the physiological range of loading. The strain energy is expressed as a Gauss error function in the physiological pressure range. In K(+)-induced vasoconstriction, the mean ± SE values of outer diameters at transmural pressure of 80 mmHg were 3.41 ± 0.17 and 3.28 ± 0.24 mm at axial stretch ratios of 1.3 and 1.5, respectively, which were significantly smaller than those in Ca(2+)-free-induced vasodilated state (i.e., 4.01 ± 0.16 and 3.75 ± 0.20 mm, respectively). The mean ± SE values of the inner and outer diameters in no-load state and the opening angles in zero-stress state were 1.69 ± 0.04 mm and 2.25 ± 0.08 mm and 126 ± 22°, respectively. The active stresses have a maximal value at the passive pressure of 80-100 mmHg and at the active pressure of 140-160 mmHg. Moreover, a mechanical analysis shows a significant reduction of mean stress and strain (averaged through the vessel wall). These findings have important implications for understanding SMC mechanics.  相似文献

Accurate estimation of mechanical properties of the different atherosclerotic plaque constituents is important in assessing plaque rupture risk. The aim of this study was to develop an experimental set-up to assess material properties of vascular tissue, while applying physiological loading and being able to capture heterogeneity. To do so, a ring-inflation experimental set-up was developed in which a transverse slice of an artery was loaded in the radial direction, while the displacement was estimated from images recorded by a high-speed video camera. The performance of the set-up was evaluated using seven rubber samples and validated with uniaxial tensile tests. For four healthy porcine carotid arteries, material properties were estimated using ultrasound strain imaging in whole-vessel-inflation experiments and compared to the properties estimated with the ring-inflation experiment. A 1D axisymmetric finite element model was used to estimate the material parameters from the measured pressures and diameters, using a neo-Hookean and Holzapfel–Gasser–Ogden material model for the rubber and porcine samples, respectively. Reproducible results were obtained with the ring-inflation experiment for both rubber and porcine samples. Similar mean stiffness values were found in the ring-inflation and tensile tests for the rubber samples as 202 kPa and 206 kPa, respectively. Comparable results were obtained in vessel-inflation experiments using ultrasound and the proposed ring-inflation experiment. This inflation set-up is suitable for the assessment of material properties of healthy vascular tissue in vitro. It could also be used as part of a method for the assessment of heterogeneous material properties, such as in atherosclerotic plaques.

The surgical options in arterial reconstruction are: the use of autologous arteries; autologous veins; or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) grafts. However, the development of intimal hyperplasia when using veins or ePTFE grafts has been associated with graft failure. Since autologous arteries are not always available, the use of cryopreserved arteries has to be considered. The aims of this study were: (a) to compare the viscoelastic properties of stored cryopreserved arteries and fresh arteries by in vitro analysis; and (b) to compare the viscoelastic properties of arteries measured non-invasively in normotensive patients, with fresh arteries, cryopreserved arteries, and ePTFE segments. The viscoelastic studies were performed in normotensive patients using stress-strain analysis with non-invasive measurement of pressure and diameter in the common carotid artery, and in vitro measurements of pressure and diameter in arteries and prostheses. The in vitro studies showed that the elastic modulus (E), viscous modulus (eta), Stiffness Index (SI), Peterson modulus (Ep), and the pulse wave velocity (PWV) values for human cryopreserved carotid arteries were similar to the values obtained non-invasively in normotensive subjects (P>0.05) and to human fresh vessels (P>0.05). In vitro, the SI, Ep, PWV, and E values of ePTFE were significantly higher than the observed values in subjects and with fresh and cryopreserved arteries (P<0.05); on the other hand the ePTFE eta values were the lowest (P<0.05). We concluded that cryopreserved arteries have similar viscoelastic properties to those obtained in vivo in the arteries of normotensive subjects and in vitro in fresh arteries. Consequently, we conclude that the cryopreservation procedure does not modify the mechanical properties of the arterial wall.  相似文献

ObjectivesWe aimed to investigate the association between BMI and early atherosclerotic activity in cancer patients. We also compared the inflammatory and macroscopic calcification processes of atherosclerosis in the aortic segments and large arteries by 18F-FDG PET/CT of between normal and high BMI patients.MethodsWe conducted a retrospective review of cancer patients presented to our institution within the period between February and May 2018. Patients were classified according to their BMI into two groups: normal BMI group and high BMI group. Data of average SUVmax and SUVmean for four segments of the aorta, common iliac arteries, and femoral arteries were estimated and compared between both groups. Moreover, the macroscopic calcification on CT images for each vascular section was also reported.ResultsNinety-eight patients were classified into two groups: normal BMI group (n = 52; 53.1%), and high BMI group (n = 46; 46.9%). Average SUVmax was significantly higher in obese participants in all arterial segments (P < 0.05). However, the SUVmean was significantly higher in obese patients in only three arterial segments aortic arch, left femoral artery and descending thoracic aorta (P < 0.05).Moreover, the differences between the two study groups in terms of the frequency of macroscopic calcifications were not statistically significant for all vascular segments. BMI positively correlated with SUVmax and SUVmean of the vascular segments (r value from 0,219 to 0,575/p value between 0,023 and 0,0001).ConclusionsFluorine-18-FDG PET/CT imaging revealed that patients with high BMI have more accelerated atherosclerotic inflammatory process in their major vessels compared to their age-matched controls with normal BMI. Future studies should assess the associated between these findings and the cardiovascular events in the long term.  相似文献

Elevated plasma Lp(a) has been linked to development of coronary artery disease (CAD). There is no data about plasma Lp(a) and atherosclerosis of the retinal arteries. Therefore the purpose of this study was to assess the risk of retinal vessels atherosclerosis conferred by elevated plasma Lp(a) levels in 73 adult males. The results were compared with those in 45 matched apparently healthy males with no retinal vessel changes. The atherosclerotic changes of the retinal vessels were determined by direct ophthalmoscopy and graded (1-4) according to Scheie. Plasma levels of Lp(a) were measured by radial immunodiffusion. The results were compared using chi-square test. Although a very weak correlation between plasma Lp(a) levels and the incidence of retinal atherosclerosis was found, no significant association between the degree of atherosclerotic changes and plasma Lp(a) levels could be proven. Thus it could be concluded that plasma Lp(a) level is not a significant risk factor for atherosclerosis of the retinal arteries.  相似文献

Increased cell proliferation in early atherosclerotic lesions is recognized as an essential event of atherogenesis but the levels of cell proliferation in different stages of atherosclerotic plague formation in different types of human large arteries are still insufficiently studied. In the present work, we studied intima thickness and proliferation of newly "infiltrates" hematogenous and resident cells in atherosclerotic lesions of the carotid and coronary arteries and compared these parameters with those in the aorta, reported by us in earlier publication. Analysis of intima thickness and proliferation in grossly unaffected intima and in different types pf atherosclerotic lesions (initial lesions, fatty streaks, lipofibrous, plaques, and fibrous plaque) revealed that although there were similar tendencies in the change of the infiltration levels of hematogenous cells and proliferation in different types of arteries, there were significant quantitative differences between different types of arteries. Hematogenous cells in lipofibrous plaques of the coronary and carotid arteries were found to account for a third and almost for a half of the total cell population, respectively, while atherosclerotic lesions in the aorta, as it has been shown by us earlier, to contain no more than 15% ofhematogenous cells. This suggests that the contribution of hematogenous cells to the development of atherosclerosis in the carotid and the coronary artery appears to be more significant than that in the aorta. Despite the differences in numbers of accumulating hematogenous cells in the intima, a similar "bell-shaped" dependence of cell numbers on the lesion type, involved in the following sequence: unaffected intima-initial lesions-fatty streaks-lipofibrous plaques-fibrous plaques, was detected in the coronary and carotid arteries. The visualization of proliferating cells (PCNA-positive) in atherosclerotic and unaffected zones of the coronary and carotid arteries revealed similar patterns. The maximum numbers of PCNA-positive resident cells were identified in lipofibrous plaques. The changes in the total cell numbers were accompanied by the changes in the numbers of both proliferating resident cells and proliferating hematogenous cells.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE--To investigate the distribution of cognitive function in elderly people and to assess the impact of clinical manifestations of atherosclerotic disease on this distribution. DESIGN--Single centre population based cross sectional door to door study. SETTING--Ommoord, a suburb of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. SUBJECTS--4971 subjects aged 55 to 94 years. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE--Cognitive function as measured by the mini mental state examination. RESULTS--The overall participation rate in the study was 80%. Cognitive test data were available for 90% of the participants. Increasing age and lower educational level were associated with poorer cognitive function. Previous vascular events, presence of plaques in the carotid arteries, and presence of peripheral arterial atherosclerotic disease were associated with worse cognitive performance independent of the effects of age and education. On average the differences were moderate; however, they reflected the net result of a shift of the total population distribution of cognitive function towards lower values. Thereby, they resulted in a considerable increase in the proportion of subjects with scores indicative of dementia. CONCLUSIONS--These findings are compatible with the view that atherosclerotic disease accounts for considerable cognitive impairment in the general population.  相似文献

It has been suggested that minimisation of energy cost is one of the primary determinants of wheelchair designs. Wheel camber is one important parameter related to wheelchair design and its angle may affect usability during manual propulsion. However, there is little available literature addressing the effect of wheel camber on the mechanical energy or power flow involved in manual wheelchair propulsion. Twelve normal subjects (mean age, 22.3 years; SD, 1.6 years) participated in this study. A video-tracking system and an instrumented wheel were used to collect 3D kinematic and kinetic data. Wheel camber of 0° and 15° was chosen to examine the difference between mechanical power and power flow of the upper extremity during manual wheelchair propulsion. The work calculated from power flow and the discrepancy between the mechanical work and power flow work of upper extremity had significantly greater values with increased camber. The upper arm had a larger active muscle power compared with that in the forearm and hand segments. While propelling the increased camber, the magnitude of both the proximal and distal joint power and proximal muscle power was increased in all three segments. While the propelling wheel with camber not only needs a greater energy cost but also there is greater energy loss.  相似文献

We evaluated CNA35 as a collagen marker in healthy and atherosclerotic arteries of mice after both ex vivo and in vivo administration and as a molecular imaging agent for the detection of atherosclerosis. CNA35 conjugated with fluorescent Oregon Green 488 (CNA35/OG488) was administered ex vivo to mounted viable muscular (uterine), elastic (carotid), and atherosclerotic (carotid) arteries and fresh arterial rings. Two-photon microscopy was used for imaging. CNA35/OG488 labeling in healthy elastic arteries was compared with collagen type I, III, and IV antibody labeling in histologic sections. For in vivo labeling experiments, CNA35/OG488 was injected intravenously in C57BL6/J and apolipoprotein E(-/-) mice. Ex vivo CNA35/OG488 strongly labeled collagen in the tunica adventitia, media, and intima of muscular arteries. In healthy elastic arteries, tunica adventitia was strongly labeled, but labeling in tunica media and intima was prevented by endothelium and elastic laminae. Histology confirmed the affinity of CNA35 for type I, III, and IV collagen in arteries. Strong CNA35/OG488 labeling was found in atherosclerotic plaques. In vivo applied CNA35/OG488 minimally labeled the tunica intima of healthy carotid arteries. Atherosclerotic plaques in apolipoprotein E(-/-) mice exhibited large uptake. CNA35/OG488 imaging in organs revealed endothelium as a limiting barrier for in vivo uptake. CNA35/OG488 is a good molecular imaging agent for atherosclerosis.  相似文献

Unique anatomic locations and physiologic functions predispose different arteries to varying mechanical responses and pathologies. However, the underlying causes of these mechanical differences are not well understood. The objective of this study was to first identify structural differences in the arterial matrix that would account for the mechanical differences between healthy femoral and carotid arteries and second to utilize these structural observations to perform a microstructurally motivated constitutive analysis. Femoral and carotid arteries were subjected to cylindrical biaxial loading and their microstructure was quantified using two-photon microscopy. The femoral arteries were found to be less compliant than the carotid arteries at physiologic loads, consistent with previous studies, despite similar extracellular compositions of collagen and elastin ( \(P> 0.05\) ). The femoral arteries exhibited significantly less circumferential dispersion of collagen fibers ( \(P< 0.05\) ), despite a similar mean fiber alignment direction as the carotid arteries. Elastin transmural distribution, in vivo axial stretch, and opening angles were also found to be distinctly different between the arteries. Lastly, we modeled the arteries’ mechanical behaviors using a microstructural-based, distributed collagen fiber constitutive model. With this approach, the material parameters of the model were solved using the experimental microstructural observations. The findings of this study support an important role for microstructural organization in arterial stiffness.  相似文献

The aim of this prospective study was to determine the prevalence and localization of stenotic atherosclerotic lesions of supra-aortic arteries in diabetic patients according to age and sex. Angiograms obtained by digital subtraction angiography were analyzed in 150 diabetic patients (study group) and 150 non-diabetic patients (control group) with symptoms of cerebral ischemia. Diabetic patients were found to have a significantly higher prevalence of stenotic atherosclerotic lesions of the internal carotid artery. Lesions of the large supra-aortic arteries were significantly more common in the left than in the right side of the neck (p < 0.001), but the difference between the diabetic and the non-diabetic group did not reach statistical significance. Hemodynamic conditions were found to be more important than diabetes for the occurrence of atherosclerotic lesions in these arteries. Changes in the proximal segment of the left common carotid artery were the most common finding in diabetic patients, hence attention should be paid to this localization on control examinations.  相似文献

Cytokeratins are not present in the vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) of normal arteries, but they are detectable in the VSMCs of atherosclerotic lesions. A correlation between cytokeratin expression and VSMC phenotype is proposed, but an examination of VSMCs after mechanical injury has yet to be performed. Immunohistochemistry was used to monitor proteins in arterial sections. Western blotting enabled quantification of protein levels. Angioplasty of porcine femoral artery in vivo and porcine coronary artery in vitro served as models of vascular injury. Cytokeratins 8 and 18 were expressed by VSMCs in porcine femoral artery lesions 14 days after balloon angioplasty. Cytokeratins were also present in the neointima of porcine coronary artery segments placed into organ culture for 4 days. Cytokeratin expression was decreased in the presence of inhibitors that affect MAP kinase, PI3 kinase, Src kinase, and G protein, but not in the presence of an AT1 receptor antagonist. Cytokeratin expression also occurred when VSMCs were plated onto collagen in the presence of serum. We conclude that mechanical injury induces expression of cytokeratin 8 and 18 both in vitro and in vivo by synthetic VSMCs that migrate into the neointima. Furthermore, cytokeratin expression requires cellular attachment to extracellular matrix proteins in conjunction with mitogenic stimulation.  相似文献

We studied patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) by intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to elucidate the controversy as to the amount and severity of the atherosclerotic disease at the culprit lesion site in acute MI, as discrepancies exist between angiographic and pathological reports. Twenty-five consecutive patients (age 56 3 10.5 years), with acute MI, underwent IVUS study of the MI-related artery immediately following successful PTCA to the culprit lesion. The IVUS images were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively and were compared with the angiography of the same arteries. At the PTCA site, 64% of the lesions had an area stenosis of 50-70% and the plaque cross-sectional area (CSA) averaged 0.5 3 0.18 of the arterial CSA. IVUS-defined atherosclerosis was found also in 72% of the segments proximal and distal to the culprit lesion with a plaque/artery CSA ratio of 0.25 3 0.2. The angiogram revealed only 30% of these segments to be abnormal (P 3 0.001). Sixty-nine per cent of all the plaques were defined as 'soft' (low echo-genecity) versus 31% 'hard' (high echo-genecity). The hard plaques were larger than the soft plaques (0.5 3 1.6 versus 0.37 3 0.19 CSA index, respectively, P 3 0.01). With the increase in plaque area there was a significant increase in arterial cross-sectional area. This was demonstrated for all the diseased segments with a correlation coefficient of 0.49 (P 3 0.0001) and for the diseased reference sites a similar correlation coefficient of 0.49 (P 3 0.003) was found. Contrary to coronary angiographic-based reports, this IVUS study revealed a significant atheromatous plaque burden at the culprit lesion of MI-related arteries as well as diffuse atherosclerosis in the reference segments proximal and distal to the lesion. The detection of compensatory enlargement may explain the discrepancies between the histopathological and the angiographic studies.  相似文献

Atherosclerosis is a chronic disease that affects medium and large arteries. This process originates from the interaction between cells of the arterial wall, lipoproteins and inflammatory cells, leading to the development of complex lesions or plaques that protrude into the arterial lumen. Plaque rupture and thrombosis result in acute clinical complications such as myocardial infarction and stroke. Owing to the heterogeneous cellular composition of the plaques, a proteomic analysis of the whole lesion is not appropriate. Therefore, we have studied the proteins secreted by human carotid atherosclerotic plaques, obtained by endarterectomy. Normal artery segments and different regions of the surgical pieces (noncomplicated plaque, complicated plaque with thrombus) were cultured in protein-free medium and the secreted proteins (supernatants) analyzed by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Normal artery segments secreted a moderate number of proteins (42 spots). However in the two-dimensional (2-D) gels (pH 3-10) of segments bearing a plaque, the number of spots increased markedly (154). The number of spots also increased (202) in the 2-D gels of artery segments with a ruptured plaque and thrombus. Thus, the more complicated the lesion, the higher the number of secreted proteins, suggesting the production of specific proteins relating to the complexity of the atherosclerotic lesion.  相似文献
