The majority of fundamental information on temperature effects on lactation is on cattle. The yield and composition of milk are affected by the temperature of the environment or the animal's body temperature. Environmental temperatures lower and higher than the comfort zone temperatures, diminish yield and alter many of the components of milk. Concepts as to the possible manner in which temperature may alter the synthesis of milk and the role of the neuro-endocrine and environmental physiological funtions in the maintenance of lactation were presented. The elucidation of many of these postulated mechanisms of temperature effect on lactation merely awaits the application of available modern endocrine, physiological, and biochemical techniques utilizing chromatography, tracer, fluorometric, manometric, and other procedures.
Zusammenfassung Der Hauptteil der grundsÄtzlichen Kenntnisse über Einflüsse der Temperatur auf die Milcherzeugung betrifft Rinder. Die Milchleistung und Zusammensetzung der Milch werden von der Temperatur der Umgebung sowie im Tier beeinflusst. Temperaturen der Umgebung, die höher oder tiefer sind als die des normalen körperlichen Wohlbefindens, verringern die Michleistung und verÄndern die Zusammensetzung der Milch. Die verschiedenen Arten der VerÄnderung der Milchsynthese durch Temperaturunterschiede und die Rolle der neuro-endokrinen und anderen physiologischen Funktionen zur Unterstützung der Milcherzeugung werden dargestellt-Die AufklÄrung vieler dieser angenommenen Mechanismen des Temperatureinflusses auf die Milchproduktion verlangt lediglich die Anwendung der üblichen modernen Methoden der Hormonforschung, der Physiologie und Biochemie.

Resume La majeure partie des recherches faites sur l'influence exercée par la température sur la lactation concerne les bovidés. La quantité et la composition du lait son influencées par la température ambiante ou par celle du corps de l'animal. Des températures extérieures supérieures ou inférieures à celles limitant la zone de confort diminuent les quantités de lait sécrété et modifient plusieurs de ses composants. On indique ici les différentes possibilités d'action de la température sur la sythèse du lait et le rÔle que jouent les fonctions physiologiques, en particulier neuroendocrines sur le maintient de la lactation. L'établissement de bien des mecanismes supposés de l'influence de la température sur la production laitière nécessite l'utilisation des techniques modernes en physiologie et en biochimie ainsi que dans la recherche des hormones. Il s'agit en particulier de la Chromatographie,de la chimie, de la mesure de la fluorescence, des mesures de pression, etc.

Genotype imputation is routinely applied in a large number of cattle breeds. Imputation has become a need due to the large number of SNP arrays with variable density (currently, from 2900 to 777 962 SNPs). Although many authors have studied the effect of different statistical methods on imputation accuracy, the impact of a (likely) change in the reference genome assembly on imputation from lower to higher density has not been determined so far. In this work, 1021 Italian Simmental SNP genotypes were remapped on the three most recent reference genome assemblies. Four imputation methods were used to assess the impact of an update in the reference genome. As expected, the four methods behaved differently, with large differences in terms of accuracy. Updating SNP coordinates on the three tested cattle reference genome assemblies determined only a slight variation on imputation results within method.  相似文献

Asian Taenia saginata, tentatively called Taenia saginata taiwanensis, has been described to be infected in its metacestode stage only in the liver of intermediate host animals. Experimentally, however, we found that the metacestodes of the Asian Taenia saginata are also infected in other viscera than the liver of pigs (Landrace-Duroc-Hampshire) 4 days to 4 months postinoculation (PI). Viscerotropism of cysticercosis was apparent because a majority (70.7%) of the non-calcified cysticerci were found in the livers while a minority were found in extrahepatic organs such as the omentum (19.2%), lungs (8.1%) and serosa of colon (2.0%). When experimentally infected to cattle, Asian T. saginata cysticerci were also observed calcified in the livers. On the other hand, classical Taenia saginata metacestodes infected the muscles and viscera of the Holstein-Friesian cattle whereas no infection was observed in experimental pigs. Extrahepatic metacestodes of Asian T. saginata, which were obtained from an experimental pig were confirmed to be infective to a male volunteer. This extrahepatic viscerotropism of Asian T. saginata metacestodes in experimental pigs explains well the transmission modes of Asian T. saginata among people considering the eating habits.  相似文献

Enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes were collected from ninety buffaloes and sixty cattle slaughtered at Faisalabad abattoir. Among these, salmonellae were isolated from lymph nodes of 32 (21.33%) animals. Maximum preponderance of salmonellosis was recorded in animals over two years of age. Enlargement, pale to dark red in color, increased consistency and even calcification were the main gross pathological lesions. Histopathological lesions included thickened capsule, typical lymphofollicular reaction, accumulation of oedematous fluid and haemorrhages.  相似文献

Calves inoculated with bovine immunodeficiency-like virus (BIV) produced virus-specific antibodies that could be detected from 2 weeks to 2.5 years postinoculation by using both indirect fluorescent-antibody and Western immunoblot assays. Antibodies were primarily to p26. Virus and BIV-specific antibodies were isolated from calves given BIV-infected blood. Antibodies to BIV proteins were found in sera from naturally infected cattle.  相似文献
