This paper provides length‐weight relationships for nine fish species from the Laohegou River, a tributary of the upper Yangtze River. Length‐weight relationships for six of these species are recorded for the first time. New maximum lengths for two species are also reported.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three endemic fish species [Gobiobotia filifer (Garman, 1912), Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896) and Xenophysogobio boulengeri (Tchang, 1929)] from the Yangtze River in China. Samples were obtained between April 2008 and June 2012 using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for two species [Gobiobotia filifer (Garman, 1912) and Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896)] were unknown.  相似文献

The present study describes the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for nine fish species from the Tetulia River, southern Bangladesh, namely Anabas testudineus, Coilia dussumieri, Otolithoides biauritus, Otolithoides pama, Pethia conchonius, Polynemus paradiseus, Puntius lateristriga, Setipinna taty and Sillaginopsis panijus. A total of 1380 specimens were caught using traditional fishing gear from March 2012 to February 2013. Individual total length (TL) and body weight (BW) were measured by digital slide calipers and digital balance, respectively. The LWR was calculated as W= a Lb, where the W is the BW in g and L the TL in cm, a and b are regression parameters. This study presents the very first references on LWRs for seven of the species. The results are valuable for the application of sustainable management and conservation of these fishes in the Tetulia River and surrounding ecosystems.  相似文献

Length – weight relationships were estimated for five endemic fish species in the upper Yangtze River: Platysmacheilus nudiventris Luo, Le & Chen, 1977, Xenophysogobio nudicorpa (Huang & Zhang, 1986), Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896), Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872), and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei Kimura, 1934. The a values ranged from 0.0079 to 0.0134, and b values from 2.833 to 3.081. These five endemic species are rare, small and difficult to find and capture. Thus the sampling period was lengthy, from May 2010 to May 2014. A total of 718 specimens were available for analysis, and the length – weight relationships are the first reports for these five endemic fish species.  相似文献

Studied were the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of 599 fish specimens covering four families, nine genera and nine species (Sinibrama macrops, Acrossocheilus parallens, Microphysogobio fukiensis, Squalidus wolterstorffi, Pseudohemiculter dispar, Tachysurus fulvidraco, Hemibagrus macropterus, Pseudobagrus crassilabris and Siniperca kneri) collected in the Liujiang River, a tributary of the Pearl River, in March 2014, September 2014 and March 2015. The b value varied between 2.385 (P. crassilabris) and 3.178 (P. dispar), with the mean = 2.85 at P < 0.001 for all nine species.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for four fish species [Schizopygopsis anteroventris Wu & Tsao, 1989, Schizothorax lissolabiatus Tsao, 1964, Triplophysa markehenensis (Zhu & Wu, 1981) and Triplophysa siluroides (Herzenstein, 1888)] from the Yellow River. Samples were collected seasonally from August 2016 to October 2017, using various fishing gears [set nets (mesh: 1.5 cm × 2.0 cm), hook, drift gill nets (mesh: 1.0 cm × 2.0 cm × 3.0 cm) and electro fishing]. Length‐weight relationships are described for 77 fish species belonging to eight families and 56 genera from the Chishui River, a protected tributary of the upper Yangtze River, China. Length–weight relationships for 56 species were unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for 44 species. The present study established the length‐weight relationships (LWR) for seven fish species from Jequitinhonha River basin, a Brazilian coastal drainage, collected with gillnets (3 to 16 cm) between 2011 and 2016. For the LWR, standard length and total weight were used. The allometric coefficient b varied from 2.66 to 3.26. These results provide biological data for a region of extreme biogeographical importance that is suffering serious environmental disturbances.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) are reported for nine fish species belonging to four families from the upper reach of the Gan River, one of the main tributaries of the Yangtze River, China. A total of 807 specimens were collected from April 2016 to July 2017. Fishes were both sampled using a backpack electrofishing unit and collected from local fish markets that using various fishing gears such as electrofishing boats, gillnets (mesh sizes: 1–12 cm), hooks, and benthic fyke nets (mesh sizes: 0.5 cm and 0.7 cm). The fish species were Siniperca undulata (Fang & Chong, 1932), Pseudogobio vaillanti (Sauvage, 1878), Sarcocheilichthys parvus (Nichols, 1930), Barbodes semifasciolatus (Günther, 1868), Spinibarbus hollandi (Oshima, 1919), Gobiobotia meridionalis (Chen & Cao, 1977), Pseudobagrus albomarginatus (Rendahl, 1928), Pseudogastromyzon changtingensis (Liang, 1942), and Pseudogastromyzon fangi (Nichols, 1931). The a values for the nine species varied between 0.0056 and 0.0366, the b values ranged from 2.333 to 3.318, and r2 values from .952 to .994.  相似文献

The length‐weight relationships were determined for three fish species [Glyptothorax dorsalis Vinciguerra, 1890, Glyptothorax zanaensis Wu, He & Chu, 1981, and Percocypris tchangi (Pellegrin & Chevey, 1936)]. All fish were collected using drift gillnet (stretched mesh size: 4 cm) and castnet (mesh size: 1 cm) from Gongshan mountain, China. Samples were collected quarterly from July 2014 to August 2016. The parameter b of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.51 for Glyptothorax dorsalis to 3.30 for Percocypris tchangi. Length–weight relationships were evaluated for nine fish species from the Tongjiang section of the Songhua River in China. A total of 675 fish specimens were collected from 4 May to 29 October 2014. Length–weight relationships for six fish species (Romanogobio tenuicorpus, Leuciscus waleckii, Opsariichthys bidens, Microphysogobio amurensis, Pelteobagrus ussuriensis and Misgurnus mohoity) were new to FishBase in 2015, but the length–weight relationships of Pussuriensis was studied by Ma in 2015. New data on M. mohoity is offered, and this study also shows new maximum total lengths for three fish species. The r2 values ranged from .95 to .99. Values of b varied from 2.504 to 3.471.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) were calculated for seven fish species from the Wutong River, northeast China(47°58'‐47°10'N; 130°07'‐130°48'E), including Ladislavia taczanowskii Dybowski, 1869; Gobio cynocephalus Dybowski, 1869; Rhynchocypris lagowskii (Dybowski, 1869); Lefua costate (Kessler, 1876); Cobitis lutheri Rendahl, 1935; Cobitis sibirica Gladkov, 1935; Perccottus glenii Dybowski, 1877. All fish specimens were collected by electric fishing gear (voltage, 12 V) and gillnets (mesh size: 1.1 cm × 1.1 cm, 1.4 cm × 1.4 cm, 1.8 cm × 1.8 cm, 2.5 cm × 2.5 cm) from May to July 2017. The a values ranged from 0.0038 (Cobitis lutheri) to 0.0084 (Lefua costata), and b values from 2.716 (Lefua costata) to 3.450 (Perccottus glenii) and r2 values from 0.973 (Cobitis lutheri) to 0.995 (ladislavia taczanowskii). This study provides the first published the LWRs for the five species, and new maximum total lengths were recorded for two species, including Gobio cynocephalus and Lefua costata.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were evaluated for three endemic fish species (Sinibrama taeniatus Nichols, 1941; Ancherythroculter nigrocauda Yin & Wu, 1964; and Acrossocheilus monticola Günther, 1888) from the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, southwestern China. Samples were collected using gill nets (25 × 12 m, mesh‐size 2.0 cm) and fishing cages (0.5 × 0.5 × 10 m, mesh‐size 1.0 cm) as well as by electroshock (CWB‐2000 P, 12 V, 250 Hz), from July to September in 2013–2016. Prior to this study, the LWRs for these three species (S. taeniatus, A. nigrocauda and A. monticola) were unknown. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for five fish species which were captured by trap‐nets and gillnets (major mesh size: 1–10 cm) from the middle Yangtze River, China (29°47′ – 29°26′N; 112°51′ – 113°08′E) were determined in September 2017. These were Acheilognathus hypselonotus (Bleeker, 1871), Culter oxycephaloides Kreyenberg & Pappenheim, 1908, Distoechodon tumirostris Peters, 1881, Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis (Günther, 1873) and Micropercops swinhonis (Günther, 1873). The LWRs were estimated using the logarithmic form of the formula =   ×  Lb. The b value ranged from 2.879 for A. hypselonotus to 3.285 for M. swinhonis. In this study the length–weight relationships of 23 fish species belonging to eight families and 21 genera from the Ergis River in China were analyzed. A total of 1869 specimens were used to estimate the relationship parameters. Seven of these fish species and one maximum length are new to science against FishBase. The r2 value ranged from 0.975 to 0.999. Values of b varied from 2.630 to 3.494.  相似文献
