Length‐weight relationships are described for 77 fish species belonging to eight families and 56 genera from the Chishui River, a protected tributary of the upper Yangtze River, China. Length–weight relationships for 56 species were unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for 44 species. These results will be useful for fishery research, management and conservation in the upper Yangtze River Basin.  相似文献

This paper provides the length‐weight and length–length relationships for five fish species in the Zigui section of the lower Three Gorges Reservoir of the Yangtze River. Specimens were collected from December 2014 to January 2017, using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for one fish species and Length–length relationships (LLRs) for five fish species are unknown to FishBase. New maximum total lengths for four species were also recorded for FishBase. Moreover, standard‐length to total‐length equations for converting size measurements for these five species are presented.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) are described for eleven indigenous fishes from the upper Jinsha River, which is the upper stretch of the Yangtze River, China. This is the first record of length‐weight relationships for ten of these species in FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for seven species.  相似文献

This paper provides length‐weight relationships for nine fish species from the Laohegou River, a tributary of the upper Yangtze River. Length‐weight relationships for six of these species are recorded for the first time. New maximum lengths for two species are also reported.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were evaluated for 11 fish species from the Yibin reach of the upper Yangtze River, southwest China. Samples were collected from April 2012 to January 2013. Length‐weight relationships for 11 species were unknown to FishBase, and new maximum lengths are recorded for five species. Results indicate that parameter b ranged from 2.586 (Sinibotia superciliaris) to 3.164 (Rhinogobio ventralis), and r2 values ranged from 0.931 (Sinibotia superciliaris) to 0.996 (Silurus meridionalis).  相似文献

The paper reports the length–weight relationships of 55 species from the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) of the Yangtze River, China, and the largest reservoir in the world. A total of 24,176 specimens were collected from July 2012 to January 2015. Length–weight relationships for 33 fish species not recorded previously in FishBase, and the maximum total lengths computed for eight species are presented. The a values varied between 0.00054 and 0.01923, and the b values ranged from 2.729 to 3.583. The results will be useful for the application of sustainable management and conservation of these fishes in the TGR of the Yangtze River.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for two fish species (Jinshaia sinensis Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874; and Zacco platypus Temminck & Schlegel, 1846) collected from the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in China. The length–weight relationships were determined for the first time.  相似文献

Length – weight relationships were estimated for five endemic fish species in the upper Yangtze River: Platysmacheilus nudiventris Luo, Le & Chen, 1977, Xenophysogobio nudicorpa (Huang & Zhang, 1986), Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896), Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872), and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei Kimura, 1934. The a values ranged from 0.0079 to 0.0134, and b values from 2.833 to 3.081. These five endemic species are rare, small and difficult to find and capture. Thus the sampling period was lengthy, from May 2010 to May 2014. A total of 718 specimens were available for analysis, and the length – weight relationships are the first reports for these five endemic fish species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were analyzed for six abundant fish species in the upper‐middle Tocantins River, northeastern Brazil. Analyses included data from 486 specimens sampled in five expeditions between August 2013 and May 2015 by gillnets. New maximum values of total lengths for the literature and FishBase were presented for six species, as well as first time estimates of LWR for Galeocharax gulo, Curimata acutirostris and Aphanotorulus emarginatus.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for two endemic fish species from the Maquan River, the upper of the Yarlung Zangbo River: (Ptychobarbus dipogon Regan, 1905, Schizothorax waltoni Regan, 1905). All the specimens were collected between May and September of 2014. Length–weight relationships for these two fish species were determined for the first time, and new maximum body weights were recorded for these two species. These results will be useful for fishery research, management and conservation of the Yarlung Zangbo River.  相似文献

Length–weight (LWR) and length–length (LLR) relationships were estimated for 20 species of fish from the upper Yangtze River, southwest China. Samples were collected using multiple types of gear (2–6 cm mesh trammel nets, 2 cm mesh trap nets, and baited hooks) in Jiangjin and Yibin sections from 2007 to 2009. New maximum lengths for 16 species were recorded for FishBase. LWRs were significant for all species. Standard length–total length equations for converting size measurements for these 20 species are also presented. The results provide primary data for future fish research and conservation.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 37 fish species belonging to ten families from the middle and lower stream of the Hongshui River, one of the main tributaries to the Pearl River, Southwest China. Length‐weight relationships for 26 species are unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for 20 species. These results are useful for fishery research, conservation and management in the Hongshui River.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for five fish species, including two endemic species [Platysmacheilus nudiventris (Luo, Le & Chen, 1977), and Rhinogobio cylindricus (Günther, 1888)] from the Xiaonanhai reach of the Upper Yangtze River in southwest China. Samples were obtained between July 2011 and October 2012 using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Length–weight relationships for two species were unknown to FishBase, and new maximum lengths are recorded for two species.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships are reported for 32 fish species belonging to seven families and 26 genera from the Tian‐e‐zhou Oxbow in the middle reach of Yangtze River, near Shishou City, China. The weight (W) ‐ length (L) relationships were estimated using the logarithmic form of the equation W = aLb. The exponent b varied from 2.60 to 3.65 (mean ± SE: 3.12 ± 0.25). The 14 weight–length relationships, 13 length–length relationships, and seven maximum lengths are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

The paper reports the length–weight relationships of 3 species from the Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake freely connect to the Yangtze River, China. A total of 1,207 specimens were collected seasonally (January, April, September and November, 2010) using various types of fishing gear nets (mesh size: 1–12 cm) and stationary lift nets (mesh size: 0.7–4.4 cm). For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Length‐weight relationships for 1 species were unknown to FishBase, and new maximum lengths are recorded for 2 species.  相似文献
