Current study provides information on Length–weight relationship (LWR) of four fish species of family Mugilidae i.e., Planiliza macrolepis (Smith, 1846), Chelon parsia (Hamilton, 1822), Osteomugil cunnesius (Valenciennes, 1836) and Valamugil speigleri (Bleeker, 1858) from Chilika Lagoon, East coast of India. Samples were collected during monsoon (July 2016), winter (November 2016) and summer (April 2017) seasons from the fisher's boats inside the lagoon while fishing with screen barrier nets (mesh size 18‐38 mm) and gill nets (mesh size 34, 38, 46, 62 and 86 mm). The b values were determined from the data set in LWRs as 2.958 for P. macrolepis, 2.952 for O. cunnesius and 2.919 for C. parsia and 2.883 for V. peigleri. In all species, regression values were statistically significant (p < .05). 相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for 4 deep water fish species from Visakhapatnam coast, India. Specimens were collected fortnightly between December 2013 and November 2015 from commercial trawls at Visakhapatnam fish landing centre (16.98°N–20.2°N, Long.82.19°–86.53°E). Individuals were captured between 100 and 300 m depth with shrimp trawl net (head rope length: 37–46 m and cod end mesh size: 30–40 mm). Total length (TL) (nearest to 0.1 cm) and body weights (nearest to 0.1 g) were taken each individual. All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.958 for Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843 to 0.983 for Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and “b” values ranged from 2.832 for U. bicinctus to 3. 402 Synodus indicus (Day, 1873).This study provides a new maximum length data for three species (Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843; Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and Uranoscopus marmoratus Cuvier, 1829). 相似文献

The length weight relationships (LWRs) of six tropical fish species from Chilika Lagoon, India were studied. Specimens were caught using a wide range of fishing gear operated in the lagoon from January to December 2014. The fresh specimens were measured for total length and weight, then dissected and the sex confirmed. Previously unavailable in FishBase, the detailed LWRs of Daysciaena albida, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Etroplus suratensis and Mystus gulio are reported for the first time. Maximum total lengths reported for Nematalosa nasus and Osteogeneiosus militaris in this study are new records for these species. The existence of a differential growth between male and female O. militaris was confirmed, which was not known earlier. 相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships for four fish species from Talkhehrud River,Urmia Lake basin,Iran 下载免费PDF全文
Length–weight and length–length parameters were calculated in the Talkhehrud River, northwestern Iran, for four freshwater fish species belonging to two families. The b values varied between 2.27 and 3.19, with a mean ± SD of 2.2777 ± 0.387. The b parameter values in the length–weight relationship equations were determined as 2.73 for Alburnus atropatenae Berg, 1925; 3.19 for Alburnoides petrubanarescui Bogutskaya & Coad, 2009; 2.92 for Capoeta capoeta (Güldenstädt, 1773); and 2.27 for Oxynoemacheilus persa (Heckel, 1847). This study provides the first reference on the LWRs and LLRs for these species in the Talkhehrud River. 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three fish species: Scomberomorus commerson, Alepes vari, and A. kleinii were estimated from Kerala waters, south‐west coast of India. Fish were captured between June 2016 and June 2017 by various gears such as ring seine (8–26 mm mesh size), trawl (30–40 mm cod end mesh size), hook and line (hook number VI–XII), smaller mesh sized drift gill net (26–90 mm) and larger one (120–170 mm) for bigger size fishes. Fish were collected on weekly basis from Cochin Fisheries Harbour (Lat. 09°56′327″N, Long. 76°15′764″E), Munambam Fisheries Harbour (Lat. 10°10′965″N, Long. 76°10′258″E), Kalamukku (Lat. 09°59′924″N, Long. 76°14′564″E) and Chellanam (Lat. 09°47′950″N, Long. 76°16′551″E). All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.944 to 0.996 and b values ranged from 2.722 to 3.021 (p < .001). In addition, this study provides the information on LWRs and new maximum size for Alepes vari and A. kleinii. 相似文献

Present study provides length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) of eight fish species from river Ganga, India. Specimens were sampled from gill nets (mesh, 22–120 mm), cast nets (mesh, 12–14 mm), and seine nets (mesh, 12 mm) on quarterly basis from September 2016 to September 2017 within the river stretch from Buxar (25°33′43.90″N and 83°56′3.10″E) to Freserganj (21°35′40.58″N and 88°15′28.92″E). The b value ranged from 2.86 (Otolithoides pama) to 3.08 (Polynemus paradiseus), whereas a value ranged from 0.004 (P. paradiseus) to 0.016 (Rita rita). Both relationships (LWRs and LLRs) were found to be highly correlated (p < .001). This study provides first report on LWR for Amblyceps mangois and Osteobrama cotio, whereas new maximum length recorded for Macrognathus pancalus. Furthermore, the estimate of R. rita should be considered as tentative because of the limited size range in the study. 相似文献

Length–length and length–weight relationships of fish species from the Lake Eyre Basin,Australia 下载免费PDF全文
The Lake Eyre Basin in central Australia is one of the world's last unregulated dryland river systems. To facilitate future research in this area, the relationships between total length, standard length, and wet weight for 10 widespread, large‐bodied freshwater fish species are presented. All linear relationships were strong (r2 > 0.90) and values of the exponent b of the length–weight relationships ranged from 2.786 to 3.336. These results provide novel baseline data for species in this area. 相似文献
