Sulfur powder and sulfur dioxide (SO2) often floated in air, produced acid rain and algal blooms, and could cause diseases. Bamboo charcoal could have adsorption and filtration properties. In order to figure out the optimal adsorption condition and the intrinsic change of the bamboo charcoal, five chemicals were adsorbed by bamboo charcoal and were analyzed by FT-IR. Fe2(SO4)3’s, Na2SO4’s, Na2S2O8’s, S’s, and Na2SO3’s optimal adsorption condition was the concentration of 19 g/1000 g and stir time of 20 min, 21 g/1000 g and stir time of 60 min, 7 g/1000 g and stir time of 120 min, 11 g/1000 g and stir time of 120 min, 21 g/1000 g and stir time of 60 min, respectively. FT-IR spectra showed that for FT-IR spectra of Fe2(SO4)3, the transmissivity of the peaks at 3435 cm−1 and 2925 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 60 min and the concentration was 19 g/1000 g, the transmissivity of the peaks at 1630 cm−1, 1060 cm−1 and 660 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 60 min and the concentration was 7 g/1000 g. For FT-IR spectra of Na2SO4, the transmissivity of the peaks at 1630 cm−1, 1060 cm−1 and 660 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 20 min and the concentration was 13 g/1000 g. For FT-IR spectra of Na2S2O8, the transmissivity of the peaks at 3435 cm−1, 2925 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1060 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 120 min and the concentration was 19 g/1000 g. For FT-IR spectra of S, the transmissivity of the peaks at 3435 cm−1, 2925 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1060 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 20 min and the concentration was 11 g/1000 g, 17 g/1000 g and 21 g/1000 g. For FT-IR spectra of Na2SO3, the transmissivity of the peaks at 3435 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 120 min and the concentration was 5 g/1000 g, the transmissivity of the peaks at 2925 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1060 cm−1 achieved the maximum for 120 min and the concentration was 11 g/1000 g. In these states, the number of the transmissivity of the maximum peaks is the largest.  相似文献

Exposures to particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 μm or less (PM2.5) may influence the risk of birth defects and make you allergic, which causes serious harm to human health. Bamboo charcoal can adsorb harmful substances, that was of benefitto people’s health. In order to figure out the optimal adsorbtion condition and the intrinsic change of bamboo charcoal, five chemicals were adsorbed by bamboo charcoal and were analyzed by FT-IR. The optimal blast time was 80 min of Na2SO3, 100 min of Na2S2O8, 20 min of Na2SO4, 120 min of Fe2(SO4)3 and 60 min or 100 min of S. FT-IR spectra showed that bamboo charcoal had five characteristic peaks of SS stretch, H2O stretch, OH stretch, CO stretch or CC stretch, and NO2 stretch at 3850 cm−1, 3740 cm−1, 3430 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1, respectively. For Na2SO3, the peaks at 3850 cm−1, 3740 cm−1, 3430 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 20 min. For Na2S2O8, the peaks at 3850 cm−1, 3740 cm−1, 3430 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 40 min. For Na2SO4, the peaks at 3850 cm−1, 3740 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 40 min. For Fe2(SO4)3, the peaks at 3850 cm−1, 3740 cm−1, 1630 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 120 min. For S, the peaks at 3850 cm−1 and 3740 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 40 min, the peaks at 1630 cm−1 and 1530 cm−1 achieved the maximum at 40 min. It proved that bamboo charcoal could remove sulfur powder from air to restrain sulfur allergies.  相似文献

The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of Aloe vera gel incorporation at different proportions on chitosan-based films. Consequently, the thickness of films was affected significantly by the addition of the gel and decreased from F0 (plain chitosan film) to F50 (the film containing 50% gel). The gel incorporation did not have a considerable effect on water vapor permeability (WVP); however, a significant difference was observed for F50. Addition of the gel significantly improved the water solubility (WS), wherein the F10 (the film with 10% of gel) showed the lowest. All mechanical properties increased by introducing the gel and, after reaching the peak for F20, started to reduce. Color properties were affected by the gel addition as the higher the gel, the darker the films. Overall, the results showed that incorporating the gel into film-forming solution of chitosan up to 20% (F20) was promising.  相似文献

In this paper, a series of nano-hydroxyapatite(n-HA)/chitosan cross-linking composite membranes (n-HA; 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 wt%) were successfully developed by a simple casting/solvent evaporation method. n-HA with size about 20 nm in vertical diameter and about 100 nm in horizontal diameter was successfully synthesized by a hydro-thermal precipitation method, and then dispersed into chitosan/genipin solution with the aid of continuous ultrasound to develop n-HA/chitosan cross-linking composite membranes. The detailed characterizations including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), water adsorption and tensile test were performed. With the analysis of FTIR spectra and TGA spectra, it suggested that there was existence of possible interactions between polymer and n-HA. Meanwhile, the n-HA content was greatly effected on the morphology as well as the tensile property of composite membrane. In vitro cytotoxicity test suggested that the developed n-HA/chitosan cross-linking composite membrane was non-cytotoxicity against L929 cells after 24 h's incubation might be suitable for further in vivo application.  相似文献

Environmentally friendly films exhibiting both antibacterial and antioxidative properties were elaborated from chitosan and tetrahydrocurcuminoids (THCs). Two tetrahydrocurcuminoids, THC1 (5-hydroxy-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hept-4-en-3-one) and THC2 (5-hydroxy-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)hept-4-en-3-one), were incorporated into a chitosan film. THC1 could be prepared from natural curcumin extracted from turmeric roots (Curcuma longa L.). The resulting tetrahydrocurcuminoid–chitosan films exhibited a high free-radical scavenging activity against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) in methanol, which was due to a progressive release of the THCs into the solvent. The release kinetics was governed both by molecular interactions between chitosan and THCs and probably by electrostatic forces between the ammonium units in chitosan and the aromatic rings in THCs. These interactions were clearly evidenced by the presence of new absorption bands in the visible regions of the electronic absorption spectra of the THCs. The molecular nature of these interactions was shown using glucosamine, the main monomer of chitosan. When associated with THCs, chitosan retained its bioactivity against Listeria innocua; THCs alone were not bioactive enough against listerial strains.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to examine the effect of including charcoal and of different processing methods of foliage from Acacia mangium in the diet on intake and performance of goats. In experiment 1, four male goats were used in a Latin square arrangement. The treatments were: control, no bamboo charcoal, and 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 g bamboo charcoal per kg body weight (BW). The diet consisted of 10 g/kg initial BW dry matter (DM) of concentrate and Para grass, respectively. Acacia was fed ad libitum at a level of 130% of the individual fresh intake the previous day. The time for each period was 21 days with the last seven days for data collection. Adding bamboo charcoal to the diet did not increase DM intake of Acacia, total DM intake or neutral detergent fiber or acid detergent fiber digestibilities, but had a significant effect on DM, organic matter (OM) and crude protein (CP) digestibilities and nitrogen (N) retention higher values being obtained in treatments 0.5 and 1.0, significantly higher than in the control or 1.5 treatments.

In experiment 2, 42 goats were randomly allotted to 6 different treatment groups. The treatments were three different methods of processing Acacia: fresh foliage, wilted foliage or dried foliage. Each method was tested with or without adding bamboo charcoal (0.5 g charcoal/kg BW). The diet was the same as in Exp. 1. The experimental time was 12 weeks. The goats fed the diet with bamboo charcoal consumed similar amounts of total DM and DM of Acacia as the goats fed the diet without bamboo charcoal and grew significantly faster (53 and 44 g/day, respectively, with and without charcoal). The processing method of Acacia foliage had a significant effect on total DM intake and DM intake of Acacia. The highest total DM intake was obtained by goats fed wilted Acacia, significantly different from fresh and dried Acacia. The weight gain of goats fed wilted or dried Acacia was higher than that of goats fed fresh Acacia, but this difference was not significant. In conclusion, the value of Acacia mangium as a feed for goats can be improved by wilting the foliage and feeding 0.5 to 1 g/kg BW of bamboo charcoal per day  相似文献

The aim of this work is to prepare starch/PVA composite films added nano-sized poly(methyl methacrylate-co-acrylamide) (PMMA-co-AAm) particles and to investigate the mechanical properties, water barrier properties, and soil burial degradation for the films. Composite films were prepared by using corn starch, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), nano-sized PMMA-co-AAm particles, and additives, i.e., glycerol (GL), xylitol (XL), and citric acid (CA). Nano-sized PMMA-co-AAm particles were synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The results of the evaluation of properties for prepared films indicated that compared with films without PMMA-co-AAm particles, the mechanical properties and water resistance were improved up to 70-400% by the addition of nano-sized PMMA-co-AAm. In addition, the results of the soil burial biodegradation revealed that films added PMMA-co-AAm particles were degraded by about 45-65% after 165 days.  相似文献

Enhancing the combustible properties of bamboo by torrefaction   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Bamboo has wide range of moisture content, low bulk energy density and is difficult to transport, handle, store and feed into existing combustion and gasification systems. Because of its important fuel characteristics such as low ash content, alkali index and heating value, bamboo is a promising energy crop for the future. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of torrefaction on the main energy properties of Bambusavulgaris. Three different torrefaction temperatures were employed: 220, 250 and 280 °C. The elemental characteristics of lignite and coal were compared to the torrefied bamboo. The characteristics of the biomass fuels tend toward those of low rank coals. Principal component analysis of FTIR data showed a clear separation between the samples by thermal treatment. The loadings plot indicated that the bamboo samples underwent chemical changes related to carbonyl groups, mostly present in hemicelluloses, and to aromatic groups present in lignin.  相似文献

Halloysite/potato starch composites were prepared by adding modified natural halloysite nanotubes into potato starch matrices to reenforce the mechanical properties of potato starch films. The halloysite/potato starch films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and infrared spectrometry. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties and transparency of the films were studied. The results show that the modified halloysite nanotubes can be well distributed in the starch matrix and thus the tensile strength of the films was clearly enhanced. The flexibility of the films could be improved through adding glycerol although at the cost of reducing tensile strength. But incorporation of PVA could further improve the tensile strength of the halloysite/potato starch films.  相似文献

The synthesis of an innovative bio-composite material based on wood and lactic acid oligomers has been reported in Part 1. As a continuation of this previous work, this paper examines the bio-composite material’s physical and mechanical performance. Properties were assessed in terms of dimensional stability, decay resistance, leaching, bending, shearing, compression and hardness testing. It has been shown that physical performance of the bio-composite was highly improved, in spite of high leaching mass loss. The mechanical structural properties were not strongly affected, except in decrease of shearing resistance due to the middle lamella degradation. An increase in hardness properties was also noticed.  相似文献

Superabsorbent hydrogel composites based on cellulose nanofibrils and chitosan-graft-poly(acrylic acid) copolymer were developed in this work. The FTIR data showed that the copolymerization and the composite formation reaction were successfully performed. In addition, the XRD pattern indicated that the nanofibrils crystallinity was as high as 90%. A 24−1 fractional factorial design was employed to evaluate the effect of acrylic acid/chitosan molar ratio, crosslinker, initiator, and filler in the swelling capacity of hydrogel composites. By the analysis of variance (ANOVA), including F-test and P-values, it was found that the crosslinker and filler correspond to 40% and 30% of the evaluated response, respectively. The addition of nanofibrils provided faster equilibrium conditions as well as improved the swelling capacity in ca. 100 units, from 381 to 486. SEM images showed that the addition of nanofibrils into the hydrogel matrix increased the averaged-dimension of porous. Finally, the composites showed responsive behavior in relation to pH and salt solution. Such characteristics make these smart materials suitable for several technological applications.  相似文献

The properties of plasticized chitosan-olive oil emulsion films prepared with increasing oil concentrations were investigated. Emulsifying nature of chitosan was enough to stabilize olive oil droplets in the film forming emulsions; hence homogeneous, thin and translucent films were obtained in all cases. The homogeneity of the lipid globules distribution in the films was confirmed by contact angle measurements and optical microscopy. All the tensile properties (Young Modulus, strength and maximum elongation) increased with olive oil concentration and were explained considering the interactions developed between lipid and carbohydrate phases in addition to the lubricant characteristics of the oil. Moisture sorption, water vapor permeation through the films and effective diffusion coefficients decreased as oil concentration increases, as a result of the non-polar nature of the lipid. Total soluble matter measurements were used to confirm the development of strong associations between chitosan and olive oil.  相似文献

The continuous increase of consumer interest in quality, convenience and food quality has encouraged further research into edible films and coatings from natural polymers, such as polysaccharides. Ecoefficient products are the new generation of biobased products prepared with sustainable materials, that agree with ecological and economic requirements including environmentally acceptable disposal of post-user waste. The numerous potential applications of natural polymers such as polysaccharides stimulated the study with edible films based on cassava starch. Blends of glycerol (GLY) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as plasticizers, and glutaraldehyde (GLU) as crosslinking agent were prepared in order to determine the mechanical properties and water vapor transmission of those films. A response surface methodology was applied on the results to identify the blend with the best mechanical properties and lowest water vapor transmission. The crosslinking effect of glutaraldehyde in the films can be observed. The plasticizing action of polyethylene glycol was restrained by more than 0.5 g of glutataraldehyde. The use of glycerol was less evident for this property even after 284 h of contact time with water vapor.  相似文献

Novel chitosan/ZnO nanoparticle (CS/nano-ZnO) composite membranes were prepared via the method of sol-cast transformation and studied by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDX). The characterization revealed that ZnO nanoparticles dispersed homogeneously within the chitosan matrix. The mechanical and antibacterial properties of the product were investigated. The results showed that the ZnO content had an effect on the mechanical properties of CS/nano-ZnO composite membranes, and that the antibacterial activities of CS membranes for Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus were enhanced by the incorporation of ZnO. Further, CS/nano-ZnO composite membranes with 6-10 wt % ZnO exhibited high antibacterial activities.  相似文献

A novel hydroxyapatite/chitosan–silk fibroin (HA/CTS–SF) composite was prepared for bone repair and replacement by a coprecipitation method. It was revealed that the inorganic phase in the composite was carbonate-substituted HA with low crystallinity. The HA crystallites were found to be needle-like in shape with a typical size of 20–50 nm in length and around 10 nm in width. The composite exhibited a higher compressive strength than the precipitated HA without any organic source involved, which was closely related to the perfect incorporation of chitosan and SF macromolecules into the composite. The chemical interactions occurring between the mineral phase and the organic matrix were thought to improve the interfacial bonding and thus resulted in the enhanced mechanical property of the composite.  相似文献

In this work a gel was formed by complexation of two natural polyelectrolytes, chitosan and xanthan. Changes in the hydrogels rheological properties have been studied in terms of hydrogel concentration (7–10% w/w), chemical media used for the hydrogel dispersion, and ‘test lag time’; i.e., the time between hydrogel dispersion in the chemical media and the start of the rheological test (up to 390 min). The viscoelastic properties of this polysaccharide system were characterized by oscillatory shear measurements under small-deformation conditions and the results show that chitosan/xanthan hydrogels behave like weak gels. The shear modulus increased almost linearly with frequency in the range studied (0.1–65 s−1). The effects of hydrogel concentration and dispersion medium have been related to electrostatic equilibrium and by the presence of counter-ions modifying the internal structure of the hydrogel.  相似文献

Preparation of chitin/cellulose composite gels and films with ionic liquids   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this study, we performed preparation and characterizations of the chitin/cellulose composite gels and films using the two ionic liquids, 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride. First, chitin and cellulose were dissolved in each appropriate ionic liquid. Then, the two liquids were mixed in the desired ratios at 100 °C to give the homogeneous mixtures. The gels were obtained by standing the mixtures for 4 days. On the other hand, the films were obtained by casting the mixtures on glass plates, followed by soaking in water and drying. The obtained gels and films were characterized by XRD and TGA measurements. The mechanical properties of the gels and films were evaluated under compressive and tensile modes, respectively.  相似文献

This paper aimed at showing the interest of the composite material based on layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and chitosan (CHT) as suitable host matrix likely to immobilize enzyme onto electrode surface for amperometric biosensing application. This hybrid material combined the advantages of inorganic LDHs and organic biopolymer, CHT. Glucose oxidase (GOD) immobilized in the composite material maintained its activity well as the usage of glutaraldehyde was avoided. The process parameters for the fabrication of the enzyme electrode and various experimental variables such as pH, applied potential and temperature, were explored for optimum analytical performance of the enzyme electrode. The enzyme electrode provided a linear response to glucose over a concentration range of 1 x 10(-6) to 3 x 10(-3) M with a high sensitivity of 62.6 mA M(-1) cm(-2) and a detection limit of 0.1 muM based on the signal-to-noise ratio of 3.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to characterize chayotextle starch films reinforced with cellulose (C) and cellulose nanoparticle (CN) (at concentrations of 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.8% and 1.2%), using thermal, mechanical, physicochemical, permeability, and water solubility tests. C was acid-treated to obtain CN. The films were prepared by casting; potato starch and C were used as the control. The solubility of the starch films decreased with the addition of C and CN compared with its respective film without C and CN. No statistical difference (α = 0.05) was found in the films added with different concentrations of C and CN. In general, the mechanical properties were improved with the addition of C and CN, and higher values of tensile strength and elastic modulus were determined in the films reinforced with CN. The melting temperature and enthalpy increased with the addition of C and CN, and the values of both thermal parameters were higher in the films with CN than with C; the enthalpy value of the film decreased when the concentration of C or CN increased in the composite. Low concentration of C and CN is better distributed in the matrix film. The addition of C and CN in the starch films improved some mechanical, barrier, and functional properties.  相似文献
