A new genus and species of scorpion belonging to the family Pseudochactidaeare described based on four specimens collected in the Tien Son cave at the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam. The new species represents a true troglobitic element, the first one known for the family Pseudochactidae. This represents the third known record of a pseudochactid, and the first from Vietnam. 相似文献

Euscorpiops cavernicola sp. n., belonging to the family Euscorpiidae Laurie, is described on the basis of two male and two female specimens collected in the Hua Ma cave located in the Quang Khe commune, Ba Be district of Bac Kan province in Viet Nam. The new species presents most features exhibited by scorpions within the genus Euscorpiops, however it may represent the first discovered Scorpiopinae species exhibiting certain adaptations to cave life. 相似文献

Rhysacephala warraensis Jennings & Austin, sp. nov., (Hymenoptera: Xiphydriidae), is described, being the first record of a xiphydriid woodwasp from Tasmania. Four females were reared from 'horizontal', Anodopetalum biglandulosum (Cunoniaceae), the first confirmed host record for an Australian xiphydriid. 相似文献

The complete mitochondrial genome (15,034 bp) of a Chinese scorpion Mesobuthus martensii (Buthidae) was sequenced and characterized in detail. The genome contains 13 protein-coding genes, 21 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes and a large non-coding region ( = CR). Its gene arrangement pattern is identical to that of Limulus polyphemus (Chelicerata, Xiphosura), with the exceptions of the tRNA(Glu)-tRNA(Ile)-tRNA(Met) (Q-I-M) arrangement and tRNA(Asp)-loss. Additional interesting features are found and discussed: high frequency of Leu(UUG) codon use, low A+T content of the genome (66.75%), and six repeat units (five 60-nt-long and one 58-nt-long repeats) in the 998-nt CR. Bayesian analysis based on amino acid sequences of the 12 proteincoding genes (excluding ATP8) reveals that the family Buthidae (Order Scorpiones) and the class Arachnida form strong monophyletic groups within Chelicerata, respectively. It indicated that the scorpions are the most ancestral arachnids. 相似文献

The fine structure of the book lungs in 29 species representing ten monophyletic taxa of the Scorpiones (Arachnida) was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Scorpion lungs are not homogeneous across the group. Here we describe and score three sets of phylogenetically informative characters: (1) the surface ornament of the lung lamellae, (2) the distal margins of the lamellae and (3) the fine structure of the spiracle margin. Provisional results suggest that reticulation on the surface of the lung lamellae is characteristic of the Buthidae. By contrast, non-buthid scorpions maintain the air space between adjacent lamellae using projecting trabeculae. Typically they are simple struts, but the trabeculae are distally branched in all investigated Scorpionidae, plus at least one species belonging to the Liochelidae. Simple thorns on the lamellar margins probably represent the plesiomorphic condition, while more complex, branched, arcuate morphologies appear to be homoplastic, occurring sporadically in numerous scorpion sub-groups. The tightly packed, hexagonal pillars around the posterior margin of the spiracle support a close relationship between Scorpionidae and Liochelidae, to the exclusion of the Urodacidae. 相似文献

During a two-year investigation of freshwater microcrustaceans in Thailand, an undescribed species of fairy shrimp of the genus Branchinella Sayce, 1903 in the family Thamnocephalidae, was discovered. This is the first record of the genus and the family from Southeast Asia and the second anostracan reported from Thailand. The new species, Branchinella thailandensis n. sp. appears to be morphologically intermediate between B. kugenumaensis (Ishikawa, 1895) from Japan and east China, and B. madurai Raj, 1951 from India and Pakistan. B. thailandensis n. sp. was collected from several temporary ponds in 11 provinces of the northeast and the central Thailand, often co-occurring with Streptocephalus sirindhornae Sanoamuang, Murugan, Weekers & Dumont, 2000. 相似文献

Four new species of the spider family Theridiosomatidae are described from caves in Laos: Alaria cavernicolasp. n. (♂♀), A. navicularissp. n., (♂♀) A. bicornissp. n. (♂♀), Chthonopes thakekensissp. n. (♀). Diagnoses and illustrations for all new taxa are given. All holotypes are deposited in the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (SMF). 相似文献

The mirine plant bug genus Paramiridius, previously known only from a single Taiwanese species, is reported from Indochinese Laos for the first time and redefined. Two additional species, Paramiridius
indochinensis and Paramiridius
laomontanus, are described as new to science. The female genitalic structures of the genus are documented for the first time. Habitus illustrations, figures of male genitalia, and key are provided for all three known Paramiridius species. 相似文献

A new formal genus with a new species Xiphosuroides khakassicus gen. et sp. nov. is established for a clutch of nine eggs containing embryos, presumably xiphosurans (Chelicerata, Xiphosura, Bellinurina). This unique specimen comes from the Lower–Middle Carboniferous Sarskaya Formation of Khakassia (Izykhskie Kopi locality). If the hypothesis of the xiphosuran nature of these eggs is correct, the specimen described in this paper is the first certain record of fossil xiphosuran eggs and embryos. 相似文献

In apoikogenic scorpions, growing oocytes protrude from the gonad (ovariuterus) and develop in follicles exposed to the mesosomal (i.e. hemocoelic) cavity. During subsequent stages of oogenesis (previtellogenesis and vitellogenesis), the follicles are connected to the gonad surface by prominent somatic stalks. The aim of our study was to analyze the origin, structure and functioning of somatic cells accompanying protruding oocytes. We show that these cells differentiate into two morphologically distinct subpopulations: the follicular cells and stalk cells. The follicular cells gather on the hemocoelic (i.e. facing the hemocoel) surface of the oocyte, where they constitute a cuboidal epithelium. The arrangement of the follicular cells on the oocyte surface is not uniform; moreover, the actin cytoskeleton of these cells undergoes significant modifications during oocyte growth. During initial stages of the stalk formation the stalk cells elongate and form F-actin rich cytoplasmic processes by which the stalk cells are tightly connected to each other. Additionally, the stalk cells develop microvilli directed towards the growing oocyte. Our findings indicate that the follicular cells covering hemocoelic surfaces of the oocyte and the stalk cells represent two distinct subpopulations of epithelial cells, which differ in morphology, behavior and function. 相似文献

A new genus and a new species, Apocathema lukashevitshae (family Kinnaridae) from Central Chile (the La Campana National Park, Valparaiso Region) belonging to the tribe Prosotropini which was known earlier only from Central America (Panama and the Antilles) is described. The species was collected from the bamboo Chusquea sp. 相似文献

The new species Isotogastrura trichaetosasp. n. isdescribed from a sand beach of Hainan, South China. It differs from all its congeners by 3+3 axial setae on Abd. IV (vs. 2+2) and by the presence of a pair of tubercles on Abd.VI. The geography of this strictly littoral genus is discussed. 相似文献
