From marine and freshwater mud samples strictly anaerobic, Gram-positive, sporeforming bacteria were isolated which oxidized fatty acids in obligately syntrophic association with H2-utilizing bacteria. Even-numbered fatty acids with up to 10 carbon atoms were degraded to acetate and H2, odd-numbered fatty acids with up to 11 carbon atoms including 2-methylbutyrate were degraded to acetate, propionate and H2. Neither fumarate, sulfate, thiosulfate, sullur, nor nitrate were reduced. A marine isolate, strain CuCal, is described as type strain of a new species, Clostridium bryantii sp. nov.  相似文献

Hydrogen sulfide is produced by many anaerobic bacteria and can irreversibly damage the palladium catalyst used for oxygen removal in anaerobic jars and cabinets. The present study used direct measurements of oxygen concentration to quantify catalyst activity following exposure to H2S and volatile fatty acids in the presence of eight potential H2S adsorbents. Most adsorbents were unsatisfactory, but two compounds not tested previously afforded full protection against the effects of H2S alone and provided protection in the presence of volatile fatty acids. The investigation demonstrated the importance both of selecting an adsorbent suitable for use in anaerobic conditions and of heating anaerobic jar catalysts in order to maintain activity.  相似文献

The biological oxidations and reductions occurring in batch anaerobic digesters may approach equilibrium. The approach depends strongly on the activities of the micro-organisms present. The thermodynamics of linear long chain fatty acid degradation in a batch reactor was modeled. The substrates considered are the saturated fatty acids from acetic acid to stearic acid. From the thermodynamic perspective, the fermentation (acidogenesis and acetogenesis), decomposing the long chain saturated fatty acids to acetic acid though shorter chain acids, could not proceed spontaneously (ΔH  0 and ΔG  0). However the model suggests that the major driving force for the fermentation may be found in the methanogenesis. The model results show two distinct cases: (ΔS > 0 and ΔH > 0) and (ΔS < 0 and ΔH < 0), relating to spontaneous but endothermic and non-spontaneous but exothermic processes respectively. Where, spontaneous digestion is associated with high initial concentrations of LCFA and endotherm. This implies that the digestion of this type of substrate might be better facilitated by the supply of supplemental heat. The digestion of very low concentrations of LCFA is found to be non-spontaneous due in large part to the solubility of carbon dioxide. This implies that the digestion of this type of substrate might be enabled by selectively removing carbon dioxide.  相似文献

Natural relationships, improvement of anaerobic growth on hydrocarbons, and properties that may provide clues to an understanding of oxygen-independent alkane metabolism were studied with two mesophilic sulfate-reducing bacteria, strains Hxd3 and Pnd3. Strain Hxd3 had been formerly isolated from an oil tank; strain Pnd3 was isolated from marine sediment. Strains Hxd3 and Pnd3 grew under strictly anoxic conditions on n-alkanes in the range of C12–C20 and C14–C17, respectively, reducing sulfate to sulfide. Both strains shared 90% 16 S rRNA sequence similarity and clustered with classified species of completely oxidizing, sulfate-reducing bacteria within the δ-subclass of Proteobacteria. Anaerobic growth on alkanes was stimulated by α-cyclodextrin, which served as a non-degradable carrier for the hydrophobic substrate. Cells of strain Hxd3 grown on hydrocarbons and α-cyclodextrin were used to study the composition of cellular fatty acids and in vivo activities. When strain Hxd3 was grown on hexadecane (C16H34), cellular fatty acids with C-odd chains were dominant. Vice versa, cultures grown on heptadecane (C17H36) contained mainly fatty acids with C-even chains. In contrast, during growth on 1-alkenes or fatty acids, a C-even substrate yielded C-even fatty acids, and a C-odd substrate yielded C-odd fatty acids. These results suggest that anaerobic degradation of alkanes by strain Hxd3 does not occur via a desaturation to the corresponding 1-alkenes, a hypothetical reaction formerly discussed in the literature. Rather an alteration of the carbon chain by a C-odd carbon unit is likely to occur during activation; one hypothetical reaction is a terminal addition of a C1 unit. In contrast, fatty acid analyses of strain Pnd3 after growth on alkanes did not indicate an alteration of the carbon chain by a C-odd carbon unit, suggesting that the initial reaction differed from that in strain Hxd3. When hexadecane-grown cells of strain Hxd3 were resuspended in medium with 1-hexadecene, an adaptation period of 2 days was observed. Also this result is not in favor of an anaerobic alkane degradation via the corresponding 1-alkene. Received: 25 June 1998 / Accepted: 29 July 1998  相似文献

A new species of anaerobic bacterium that degrades the even-numbered carbon fatty acids, butyrate, caproate and caprylate, to acetate and H2 and the odd-numbered carbon fatty acids, valerate and heptanoate, to acetate, propionate and H2 was obtained in coculture with either an H2-utilizing methanogen or H2-utilizing desulfovibrio. The organism could be grown only in syntrophic association with the H2-utilizer and no other energy sources or combination of electron donor and acceptors were utilized. It was a Gram-negative helical rod with 2 to 8 flagella, about 20 nm in diameter, inserted in a linear fashion about 130 nm or more apart along the concave side of the cell. It grew with a generation time of 84 h in co-culture with Methanospirillum hungatii and was present in numbers of at least 4.5×10-6 per g of anaerobic digestor sludge.  相似文献

Degradation of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol in slurries prepared from sediments of minerotrophic peatland ditches were studied under various conditions. Maximal aerobic dimethyl sulfide-degrading capacities (4.95 nmol per ml of sediment slurry · h−1), measured in bottles shaken under an air atmosphere, were 10-fold higher than the maximal anaerobic degrading capacities determined from bottles shaken under N2 or H2 atmosphere (0.37 and 0.32 nmol per ml of sediment slurry · h−1, respectively). Incubations under experimental conditions which mimic the in situ conditions (i.e., not shaken and with an air headspace), however, revealed that aerobic degradation of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol in freshwater sediments is low due to oxygen limitation. Inhibition studies with bromoethanesulfonic acid and sodium tungstate demonstrated that the degradation of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol in these incubations originated mainly from methanogenic activity. Prolonged incubation under a H2 atmosphere resulted in lower dimethyl sulfide degradation rates. Kinetic analysis of the data resulted in apparent Km values (6 to 8 μM) for aerobic dimethyl sulfide degradation which are comparable to those reported for Thiobacillus spp., Hyphomicrobium spp., and other methylotrophs. Apparent Km values determined for anaerobic degradation of dimethyl sulfide (3 to 8 μM) were of the same order of magnitude. The low apparent Km values obtained explain the low dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol concentrations in freshwater sediments that we reported previously. Our observations point to methanogenesis as the major mechanism of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol consumption in freshwater sediments.  相似文献

An anaerobic, nonphototrophic bacterium that β-oxidizes saturated fatty acids (butyrate through octanoate) to acetate or acetate and propionate using protons as the electron acceptor (H2 as electron sink product) was isolated in coculture with either a non-fatty acid-degrading, H2-utilizing Desulfovibrio sp. or methanogens. Three strains of the bacterium were characterized and are described as a new genus and species, Syntrophomonas wolfei. S. wolfei is a gram-negative, slightly helical rod with round ends that possesses between two to eight flagella laterally inserted along the concave side of the cell. It has a multilayered cell wall of the gram-negative type. The presence of muramic acid, inhibition of growth by penicillin, and increased sensitivity of the cells to lysis after treatment with lysozyme indicate that peptidoglycan is present in the cell wall. Cells of S. wolfei contain poly-β-hydroxybutyrate. Isoheptanoate was degraded to acetate, isovalerate, and H2. Carbohydrates, proteinaceous materials, alcohols, or other tested organic compounds do not support growth. Common electron acceptors are not utilized with butyrate as the electron donor. Growth and degradation of fatty acids occur only in syntrophic association with H2-using bacteria. The most rapid generation time obtained by cocultures of S. wolfei with Desulfovibrio and Methanospirillum hungatei is 54 and 84 h, respectively. The addition of Casamino Acids but neither Trypticase nor yeast extract stimulated growth and resulted in a slight decrease in the generation time of S. wolfei cocultured with M. hungatei. The addition of H2 to the medium stopped growth and butyrate degradation by S. wolfei.  相似文献

From anaerobic enrichments with 2,3-butanediol as sole substrate pure cultures of new Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic, non-sporeforming bacteria were isolated. Similar isolates were obtained with acetoin as substrate. From marine muds in saltwater medium a short rod (strain Gra Bd 1) was isolated which fermented butanediol, acetoin and ethylene glycol to acetate and ethanol. The DNA base ratio of this strain was 52.3 mol% guanine plus cytosine. From freshwater sediments and sewage sludge, a different type of short rod (strain Ott Bd 1) was isolated in freshwater medium, which fermented butanediol, acetoin, ethanol, lactate and pyruvate stoichiometrically to acetate and propionate. Propanol and butanol were oxidized to the respective fatty acids with concomitant reduction of acetate and bicarbonate to propionate. The DNA base ratio of strain Ott Bd 1 was 57.4 mol% guanine plus cytosine. No other substrates were used by the isolates, and no other products could be detected. In cocultures with Acetobacterium woodii or Methanospirillum hungatei, strain Gra Bd 1 also grew on ethanol, propanol, and butanol by fermenting these alcohols to the respective fatty acids and molecular hydrogen. Cytochromes could not be detected in any of the new isolates. Since both types of bacteria can not be affiliated to any of the existing genera and species, the new species Pelobacter carbinolicus and Pelobacter propionicus are proposed. The mechanism of butanediol degradation and propionate formation from acetate as well as the ecological importance of both processes are discussed.  相似文献

To obtain a detailed picture of sulfur deprivation-induced H2 production in microalgae, metabolome analyses were performed during key time points of the anaerobic H2 production process of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Analyses were performed using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC/MS), two-dimensional gas chromatography combined with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GCxGC-TOFMS), lipid and starch analysis, and enzymatic determination of fermentative products. The studies were designed to provide a detailed metabolite profile of the solar Bio-H2 production process. This work reports on the differential analysis of metabolic profiles of the high H2-producing strain Stm6Glc4 and the wild-type cc406 (WT) before and during the H2 production phase. Using GCxGC-TOFMS analysis the number of detected peaks increased from 128 peaks, previously detected by GC/MS techniques, to ∼1168. More detailed analysis of the anaerobic H2 production phase revealed remarkable differences between wild-type and mutant cells in a number of metabolic pathways. Under these physiological conditions the WT produced up to 2.6 times more fatty acids, 2.2 times more neutral lipids, and up to 4 times more fermentation products compared with Stm6Glc4. Based on these results, specific metabolic pathways involving the synthesis of fatty acids, neutral lipids, and fermentation products during anaerobiosis in C. reinhardtii have been identified as potential targets for metabolic engineering to further enhance substrate supply for the hydrogenase(s) in the chloroplast.  相似文献

An anaerobic, motile, gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium is described which degrades benzoate in coculture with an H2-utilizing organism and in the absence of exogenous electron acceptors such as O2, SO 4 = or NO 3 - . The bacterium was isolated from a municipal primary, anaerobic sewage digestor using anaerobic roll-tube medium with benzoate as the main energy source and in syntrophic association with an H2-utilizing sulfate-reducing Desulfovibrio sp. which cannot utilize benzoate or fatty acids apart from formate as energy source. The benzoate utilizer produced acetate (3 mol/mol of substrate degraded) and presumably CO2 and H2, or formate from benzoate. In media without sulfate and with Methanospirillum hungatei (a methanogen that utilizes only H2–CO2 or formate as the energy source) added, 3 mol of acetate and 0.7 mol of methane were produced per mol of benzoate and CO2 was probably formed. Low numbers of Desulfovibrio sp. were present in the methanogenic coculture and a pure coculture of the benzoate utilizer with M. hungatei was not obtained. The generation times for growth of the sulfate-reducing and methanogenic cocultures were 132 and 166h, respectively. The benzoate utilizer did not utilize other common aromatic compounds, C 3 - –C7 monocarboxylic acids, or C4-C6 dicarboxylic acids for growth, nor did it appear to use SO 4 = , NO 3 - or fumarate as alternative electron acceptors. Addition of H2 inhibited growth and benzoate degradation.  相似文献

From anaerobic freshwater enrichment cultures with 3-hydroxybenzoate as sole substrate, a slightly curved rod-shaped bacterium was isolated in coculture with Desulfovibrio vulgaris as hydrogen scavenger. The new isolate degraded only 3-hydroxybenzoate or benzoate, and depended on syntrophic cooperation with a hydrogenoxidizing methanogen or sulfate reducer. 3-Hydroxybenzoate was degraded via reductive dehydroxylation to benzoate. With 2-hydroxybenzoate (salicylate), short coccoid rods were enriched from anaerobic freshwater mud samples, and were isolated in defined coculture with D. vulgaris. This isolate also fermented 3-hydroxybenzoate or benzoate in obligate syntrophy with a hydrogen-oxidizing anaerobe. The new isolates were both Gram-negative, non-sporeforming strict anaerobes. They fermented hydroxybenzoate or benzoate to acetate, CO2, and, presumably, hydrogen which was oxidized by the syntrophic partner organism. With hydroxybenzoates, but not with benzoate, Acetobacterium woodii could also serve as syntrophic partner. Other substrates such as sugars, alcohols, fatty or amino acids were not fermented. External electron acceptors such as sulfate, sulfite, nitrate, or fumarate were not reduced. In enrichment cultures with 4-hydroxybenzoate, decarboxylation to phenol was the initial step in degradation which finally led to acetate, methane and CO2.  相似文献

In this study, a short pre-aeration step was investigated as pre-treatment for thermophilic anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW). It was found that pre-aeration of 48 h generated enough biological heat to increase the temperature of bulk OFMSW to 60 °C. This was sufficient self-heating of the bulk OFMSW for the start-up of thermophilic anaerobic digestion without the need for an external heat source. Pre-aeration also reduced excess easily degradable organic compounds in OFMSW, which were the common cause of acidification during the start-up of the batch system. Careful consideration however must be taken to avoid over aeration as this consumes substrate, which would otherwise be available to methanogens to produce biogas. To accelerate methane production and volatile solids destruction, the anaerobic digestion in this study was operated as a wet process with the anaerobic liquid recycled through the OFMSW. Appropriate anaerobic liquid inoculum was found to be particularly beneficial. It provided high buffer capacity as well as suitable microbial inoculum. As a result, acidification during start-up was kept to a minimum. With volatile fatty acids (VFAs-acetate in particular) and H2 accumulation typical of hydrolysis and fermentation of the easily degradable substrates during start-up, inoculum with high numbers of hydrogenotrophic methanogens was critical to not only maximise CH4 production but also reduce H2 partial pressure in the system to allow VFAs degradation. In a lab-scale bioreactor, the combined pre-aeration and wet thermophilic anaerobic digestion was able to stabilise the OFMSW within a period of only 12 days. The stabilised inert residual material can be used as a soil amendment product.  相似文献

Periods of carbohydrate deprivation are commonly encountered by plant cells. Plants respond to this nutrient stress by the mobilization of stored carbohydrates and the reallocation of other cellular macromolecules to degradative pathways. Previously we identified a number of metabolic genes that are upregulated in Arabidopsis thaliana cells during sucrose starvation. One of the genes identified encodes acyl-CoA oxidase-4 (ACX4, EC 1.3.3.6), a peroxisomal acyl-CoA oxidase that is unique to plants and involved in β-oxidation of short-chain fatty acids. Here we demonstrate that ACX4 activity increases during sucrose starvation, indicating a shift to a catabolic breakdown of fatty acids as a source of available carbon. This suggests a role for degradation of short-chain fatty acids in the response to sucrose starvation, leading in turn to the production of toxic H2O2. Catalase-3 (CAT3, EC 1.11.1.6) activity also increases during starvation as a direct response to the increase in oxidative stress caused by the rapid activation of alternative catabolic pathways, including a specific increase in ACX4 activity. Any disruption in ACX4 expression or in β-oxidation of fatty acids in general prevents this increase in catalase activity and expression. We hypothesize that CAT3 activity increases to remove the H2O2 produced by alternative catabolic processes induced during the carbohydrate shortages caused by extended periods of low-light conditions.  相似文献

To investigate the mechanism of interaction of gramicidin S-like antimicrobial peptides with biological membranes, a series of five decameric cyclic cationic β-sheet-β-turn peptides with all possible combinations of aromatic D-amino acids, Cyclo(Val-Lys-Leu-D-Ar1-Pro-Val-Lys-Leu-D-Ar2-Pro) (Ar ≡ Phe, Tyr, Trp), were synthesized. Conformations of these cyclic peptides were comparable in aqueous solutions and lipid vesicles. Isothermal titration calorimetry measurements revealed entropy-driven binding of cyclic peptides to POPC and POPE/POPG lipid vesicles. Binding of peptides to both vesicle systems was endothermic—exceptions were peptides containing the Trp-Trp and Tyr-Trp pairs with exothermic binding to POPC vesicles. Application of one- and two-site binding (partitioning) models to binding isotherms of exothermic and endothermic binding processes, respectively, resulted in determination of peptide-lipid membrane binding constants (Kb). The Kb1 and Kb2 values for endothermic two-step binding processes corresponded to high and low binding affinities (Kb1 ≥ 100 Kb2). Conformational change of cyclic peptides in transferring from buffer to lipid bilayer surfaces was estimated using fluorescence resonance energy transfer between the Tyr-Trp pair in one of the peptide constructs. The cyclic peptide conformation expands upon adsorption on lipid bilayer surface and interacts more deeply with the outer monolayer causing bilayer deformation, which may lead to formation of nonspecific transient peptide-lipid porelike zones causing membrane lysis.  相似文献

The rumen anaerobic fungi   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
The anaerobic fungi represent a new group of organisms inhabiting the rumen ecosystem and possess a life cycle alternating between a motile flagellated form (zoospore) and a non-motile vegetative reproductive form (thallus). In vivo studies show extensive colonization of plant material suspended in the rumen indicating the fungi have a role in fiber digestion. Pure cultures of anaerobic fungi ferment cellulose to give lactate, acetate, CO2 and H2 as the major products. Ethanol and formate may also be produced. Fermentation of cellulose by the fungi in coculture with H2-utilizing methanogens results in a shift in the fermentation pattern favouring the production of H2 (utilized in the formation of CH4) and acetate at the expense of the electron-sink products, lactate and ethanol. It is postulated that the methanogens in reducing the partial pressure of H2, facilitate an increased passage of reducing equivalents towards the production of H2 via a pyridine-nucleotide (PN)-linked hydrogenase reaction. H2 is believed to be produced in microbodies of the fungi called hydrogenosomes which possess all of the enzymes necessary for this function including PN-linked hydrogenase. Absence of mitochondria and key electron transport components in these organisms indicate a dependence wholly on fermentative processes for growth. Anaerobic fungi also participate in hemicellulose and starch degredation but it is not yet clear whether they have a role in the degradation of lignin. Simple sugars (mono- and disaccharides) are readily utilized and their uptake is subject to similar regulatory constraints such as is found with other micro-organisms.Enzymological studies have revealed that anaerobic fungi release substantial amounts of endo-acting cellulase and protease, possibly giving them a competitive advantage over rumen bacteria in the degradation of plant structural material.  相似文献

Ethanol was rapidly degraded to mainly acetate in anaerobic freshwater sediment slurries. Propionate was produced in small amounts. Desulfovibrio species were the dominant bacteria among the ethanol-degrading organisms. The propionate-producing Desulfobulbus propionicus came to the fore under iron-limited conditions in an ethanol-limited chemostat with excess sulfate inoculated with anaerobic intertidal freshwater sediment. In the absence of sulfate, ethanol was fermented by D. propionicus Lindhorst to propionate and acetate in a molar ratio of 2.0.l-Propanol was intermediately produced during the fermentation of ethanol. In the presence of H2 and CO2, ethanol was quantitatively converted to propionate. H2-plus sulfate-grown cells of D. propionicus Lindhorst were able to oxidize l-propanol and l-butanol to propionate and butyrate respectively with the concomitant reduction of acetate plus CO2 to propionate. Growth was also observed on acetate alone in the presence of H2 and CO2 D. propionicus was able to grow mixotrophically on H2 plus an organic compound. Finally, a brief discussion has been given of the ecological niche of D. propionicus in anaerobic freshwater sediments.  相似文献

Biochemical processes in biogas plants are still not fully understood. Especially, the identification of possible bottlenecks in the complex fermentation processes during biogas production might provide potential to increase the performance of biogas plants. To shed light on the question which group of organism constitutes the limiting factor in the anaerobic breakdown of organic material, biogas sludge from different mesophilic biogas plants was examined under various conditions. Therefore, biogas sludge was incubated and analyzed in anaerobic serum flasks under an atmosphere of N2/CO2. The batch reactors mirrored the conditions and the performance of the full-scale biogas plants and were suitable test systems for a period of 24 h. Methane production rates were compared after supplementation with substrates for syntrophic bacteria, such as butyrate, propionate, or ethanol, as well as with acetate and H2+CO2 as substrates for methanogenic archaea. Methane formation rates increased significantly by 35 to 126 % when sludge from different biogas plants was supplemented with acetate or ethanol. The stability of important process parameters such as concentration of volatile fatty acids and pH indicate that ethanol and acetate increase biogas formation without affecting normally occurring fermentation processes. In contrast to ethanol or acetate, other fermentation products such as propionate, butyrate, or H2 did not result in increased methane formation rates. These results provide evidence that aceticlastic methanogenesis and ethanol-oxidizing syntrophic bacteria are not the limiting factor during biogas formation, respectively, and that biogas plant optimization is possible with special focus on methanogenesis from acetate.  相似文献

Although obligate syntrophic reactions cannot proceed without hydrogenotrophs, it has been unclear from the literature whether potential improvements are achievable with higher concentrations of hydrogenotrophs. In this study, the relative importance of formate-/H2-utilizing and acetate-utilizing trophic groups in the anaerobic degradation of butyrate and propionate was assessed by adding various proportions of these enriched cultures to a mixed anaerobic seed inoculum. The improvement resulting from the additional acetate-utilizing cultures was much greater than with formate/H2 utilizers. Furthermore, formate/H2 utilizers did not improve propionate utilization significantly, suggesting the importance of optimum utilization of hydrogenotrophic capacity. During most of the volatile fatty acid (VFA) degradation period, the system responded with characteristic hydrogen levels to maintain the Gibbs free energy of oxidation approximately constant for both butyrate (−6 kJ) and propionate (−14 kJ). These free-energy values were independent of methanogenic activity, as well as the volume of the seed inoculum and the VFA concentrations present. By comparing the experimental results with kinetic and mass transfer models, it was postulated that the diffusional transfer of reducing equivalents was the major limiting factor for efficient VFA degradation. Therefore, for optimum utilization of the hydrogenotrophs, low acetate concentrations are vital to enable the system to respond with higher formate/H2 levels, thus leading to improved transfer of reducing equivalents. Due to the small number of propionate utilizers (and hence their limited surface area) and low bulk liquid concentrations, the additional formate/H2 utilizers were of minimal use for improving the degradation rate further. The butyrate degradation rates strongly correlated with the cumulative activity of hydrogenotrophs and acetotrophs over the experimental range studied, indicating the need to model obligate syntrophic reactions as a dependent function of methanogenic activity.  相似文献

A new genus and species of a nonmotile gram-negative rod, Syntrophobacter wolinii, is the first bacterium described which degrades propionate only in coculture with an H2-using organism and in the absence of light or exogenous electron acceptors such as O2, sulfate, or nitrate. It was isolated from methanogenic enrichments from an anaerobic municipal sewage digestor, using anaerobic roll tubes containing a medium with propionate as the energy source in association with an H2-using, sulfate-reducing Desulfovibrio sp. which cannot utilize fatty acids other than formate. S. wolinii produced acetate and, presumably, CO2 and H2 (or formate) from propionate. In media without sulfate and with Methanospirillum hungatei, a methanogen that uses only H2-CO2 or formate as an energy source, acetate, methane, and, presumably, CO2 were produced from propionate and only small amounts of Desulfovibrio sp. were present. Isolation in coculture with the methanogen was not successful. S. wolinii does not use other saturated fatty acids as energy sources.  相似文献

Recently we observed that a gas messenger H2S/HS released NO from S-nitrosoglutathione (Ondrias et al., Pflugers Arch. 457 (2008) 271-279). However, the effect of biological compounds on the release is not known. Measuring the NO oxidation product, which is nitrite, by the Griess reaction, we report that unsaturated fatty acid—linoleic acid and lipids having unsaturated fatty acids: asolectin, dioleoylphosphocholine and dioleoylphosphoserine depressed the H2S/HS induced NO release from S-nitrosoglutathione. On the other hand, a depression effect of the saturated fatty acid—myristic acid and lipids having saturated fatty acids, dilauroylphosphatidylcholine, dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine, dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine and distearoylphosphatidylcholine was less pronounced. The inhibition effect increased with the decreasing gel-to-liquid phase transitions temperature of the fatty acids and lipids. We suggest that lipid composition of biological membranes modulates NO release from nitrosoglutathione induced by H2S/HS, assuming that a reaction of H2S/HS with unsaturated bonds of fatty acids may be partially responsible for the effect.  相似文献
