云南百合科球子草属一新种———粗穗球子草

对中国云南百合科一新种———粗穗球子草Peliosanthes pachystachya W.H.Chen&Y.M.Shui进行了描述和绘图。该新种的匍匐茎具长约18cm的节间,与匍匐球子草P.sinica Wang&Tang接近,但因叶具9-13条叶脉,花梗长9-10mm,无小苞片,花被片卵状三角形而明显不同。该新种因花被片卵状三角形,苞片披针形,也近似于长苞球子草P.ophiopogonoides Wang&Tang,但匍匐茎长,叶具9-13条叶脉,花梗长9-10mm,花葶和花序均较短而不同。     

四川无心菜属（石竹科）一新种

描述了四川无心菜属（石竹科）一新种——道孚无心菜Arenaria dawuensis A. J. Li&Q. Ban。该种具纺锤形根,聚伞花序,花柱2,线形而与纟遂瓣无心菜A. fimbriata（E. Pritz. ）Mattf. 相近,但叶匙形,萼片边缘具长缘毛,花瓣短于萼片,顶端细流苏状而不同。     

Six new species of the genus Dicranosepsis Duda (Diptera, Sepsidae) from Vietnam, with a revised key to the species

The flies of the genus Dicranosepsis from Vietnam were investigated and classified taxonomically. Six new species (D. longa sp. nov., D. kurahashii sp. nov., D. monoseta sp. nov., D. sinuosa sp. nov., D. barbata sp. nov., and D. vietnamensis sp. nov.) are described and illustrated. Dicranosepsis is redefined and a revised key to the species is also provided.     

Eimeriidae of the Herbivorous Mole-Rat, Spalax ehrenbergi Nehring

SYNOPSIS. A survey of 41 herbivorous mole-rats, Spalax ehrenbergi Nehring, in Urfa, Adiyaman, and Maras provinces of Turkey revealed 7 new species of Eimeria in addition to previously described Eimeriidae. The shape, average dimensions (in μm) of their oocysts, and the numbers of hosts from which the new species were isolated were as follows: Eimeria urfensis sp. n., ellipsoidal (33 × 21), from 8 hosts; Eimeria adiyamanensis sp. n., ovoid to ellipsoidal (33 × 18), from 6 hosts; Eimeria haranica sp. n., elongate ovoid (37 × 20), from 22 rats; Eimeria marasensis sp. n., ellipsoidal (36 × 18), from 2 rats; Eimeria oytuni sp. n., pear-shaped (24 × 17), from 2 hosts; Eimeria celebii sp. n., ellipsoidal (16 × 9), from 1 rat; and Eimeria torosicum sp. n., spherical to subspherical (11 × 10), from 2 animals.     

湖北无心菜属(石竹科)一新种——神农架无心菜

描述了湖北省神农架地区发现的石竹科一新种——神农架无心菜Arenaria shennongjiaensis Z. E. Zhao &; Z. H. Shen,并绘出了线图。该种与秦岭无心菜A. giraldii (Diels) Mattf.相近,为柔弱草本,具纺锤形块根,花瓣顶端齿裂;不同之处在于其茎有1列腺毛,花瓣顶端具4齿裂,裂片又2浅裂。

This paper covers major events of the early history of chlorophyll research in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union from 1771 until 1952, when the modern period of studies on photosynthesis began in full swing. Short biographical sketches of key scientists, reviews of their major research contributions and some selected photographs are included. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Loaches of the genus Lepidocephalichthys, from Manipur, with description of a new species

A new species Lepidocephalichthys manipurensis , is described, confined to the Chandel district of Manipur near the adjoining borderland areas of Manipur, India and Burma (Myanmar). It is distinguished by the following combination of characters: a sharp small black dot just above the upper base of the caudal fin; 8–9 dorsal short dark ashy brown bars from occiput to the base of the caudal fin; absence of scales on the vertex of head; caudal fin fork, pectoral, ventral and anal fins are non-immaculate; least depth of caudal peduncle 50·00–60·24% (mean 54·09) of its length and 7·69–8·11% L , S (mean 8·22); caudal fin with 4–5 W-shaped bands: a single dark black stripe from tip of snout to eye; 8–11 spots on the mid lateral line; and 30–31 vertebrae. A key to the identification of lepidocephalid loaches of Manipur is provided.

本新种与皱皮杜鹃(Rhododendron wiltonii Hemsl.et Wils.)相近似,区别在于前者叶较小,长6.8～8.0 cm,宽2.0～2.5 cm,叶表面平坦而不呈泡状突起,叶背密被一层黄色至锈红色毡毛,花5～6（～9）朵,较小,长约2.5 cm,易于区别。

The status of the genus Bostryx is discussed and, based on morphological and molecular data, restricted to a group of species related to Bostryx solutus, for which the new subfamily name Bostrycinae is introduced.     

Isolation of a cardiotonic glycoprotein,striatoxin, from the venom of the marine snail Conus striatus

Striatoxin, a powerful cardiotonic glycoprotein has been isolated from the venom of the marine snail Conus striatus, monitored by the inotropic action on the guinea-pig left atria. The molecular weight was estimated to be 25,000 by gel filtration. The purified glycoprotein is electrophoretically homogeneous. The toxin at concentrations above 10^?7 g/ml has a long-lasting inotropic action, which was abolished by tetrodotoxin (10^?6 M). The minimum lethal dose in the fish Rhodeus ocellatus smithi was 1 μg/g body weight. A possible biological role of striatoxin in C. striatus is briefly discussed.

When contingency tables of data on sequences, social relationships, feeding, habitat use, or other behaviour exhibit significant associations between variables, ethologists may analyse the residuals in the table in order to test more precise hypotheses about the associations found. This paper critically evaluates currently used and potentially available statistical methods for performing such tests. Specific examples of use are given and recommendations made.

Isosalipurposide was present in 13 species and absent from 27 other species of the Onagraceae.

报道了贵州忍冬科（Caprifoliaceae）六道木属（Abelia R. Br.）1个新种,即荔波六道木（Abelia lipoensis M. T. An et G. Q. GOU）。新种与糯米条（A. chinensis R. Br.）近缘,不同点在于小枝和叶背无毛,花序宽大,疏松,呈宽圆锥状,花萼裂片近无毛,花冠小,长6~9 mm,白色,与萼裂片近等长或稍长。
