In this work, the optical and structural properties of ultrasonically prepared CaF2:Eu3+ nanoparticles have been reported. Ultrasonically prepared CaF2:Eu3+ phosphor shows orange, red emission bands at 591 nm and 612 nm, respectively, when it is excited by 394 light‐emitting diode (LED) excitation wavelengths. Further phosphor materials are well characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques to confirm the phase purity, metal oxygen (MO) bonding and crystallites size of the materials. Here synthesized materials show a tube‐like structure under 100 nm resolution and 0.1 mol% is the best doping value of the europium ion (Eu3+) in calcium fluoride (CaF2) that shows highest intensity when prepared with an ultrasound assisted method.  相似文献

Europium ion (Eu2+) doped Sr2SiO4 phosphors with greenish‐yellow emission were synthesized using microwave‐assisted sintering. The phase structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the obtained phosphor samples were investigated. The PL excitation spectra of the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors exhibited a broad band in the range of 260 nm to 485 nm with a maximum at 361 nm attributed to the 5f‐4d allowed transition of the Eu2+ ions. Under an excitation at 361 nm, the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphor exhibited a greenish‐yellow emission peak at 541 nm with an International‐Commission‐on‐Illumination (CIE) chromaticity of (0.3064, 0.4772). The results suggest that the microwave‐assisted sintering method is promising for the synthesis of phosphors owing to the decreased sintering time without the use of additional reductive agents.  相似文献

In this paper, we have reported the photoluminescence (PL) properties of the Ba2Mg(PO4)2:Eu3+ phosphor synthesized using a wet chemical method. The preliminary scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigation of the sample revealed irregular surface morphology with particle sizes in the 10–50 μm range. The strongest PL excitation peak was observed at 396 nm. The emission spectra indicated that this phosphor can be effectively excited by the 396 nm wavelength. Upon 396 nm excitation, the emission spectrum showed characteristics peaks located at 592 nm and 615 nm. These intense orange‐red emission peaks were obtained due to f→f transitions of Eu3+ ions. The emission peak at 592 nm is referred to as the magnetic dipole 5D07F1 transition and the emission peak at 615 nm corresponded to the electric dipole 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+. The Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of the Ba2Mg(PO4)2:Eu3+ phosphor were found to be (0.586, 0.412) for wavelength 592 nm and (0.680, 0.319) for wavelength 615 nm situated at the edge of the CIE diagram, indicating high colour purity of phosphors. Due to the high emission intensity and a good excitation profile, Eu3+‐doped Ba2Mg(PO4)2 phosphor may be a promising orange‐red phosphor candidate for solid‐state lighting applications.  相似文献

A series of Eu2+ activated SrCaP2O7 pyrophosphate phosphors were synthesized by the modified solid‐state reaction method. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) properties of these phosphors were investigated at room temperature. The excitation spectra indicate that these phosphors can be effectively excited by Hg‐free excitation. The emission spectra exhibit strong blue performance, which is due to the 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. The Fourier transform infrared spectrum at room temperature was investigated and surface morphology has been studied by scanning electron microscope. The prepared phosphor exhibited intense blue emission at the 427 nm owing to Eu2+ ion by Hg‐free excitation at 330 nm, that is, solid‐state lighting excitation. Hence, the availability of such a phosphor will significantly help in the growth of blue‐emitting solid‐state lighting applications. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A series of efficient Li3Al2(PO4)3:Eu2+ novel phosphors were synthesized by the facile combustion method. The effects of dopant on the luminescence behavior of Li3Al2(PO4)3 phosphor were also investigated. The phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence techniques. The result shows that all samples can be excited efficiently by near‐ultraviolet excitation under 310 nm. The emission was observed for Li3Al2(PO4)3:Eu2+ phosphor at 425 nm, which corresponded to the d → f transition. The concentration quenching of Eu2+ was observed in Li3Al2(PO4)3:Eu2+ when the Eu concentration was at 0.5 mol%. The prepared powders exhibited intense blue emission at the 425 nm owing to the Eu2+ ion by Hg‐free excitation at 310 nm (i.e., solid‐state lighting excitation). Consequently, the availability of such a phosphor will significantly help in the development of blue‐emitting solid‐state lighting applications. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The new borate phosphor CaB2O4:Eu3+ was synthesized by solid‐state method and their photoluminescence properties were investigated. The results show that the pure phase of CaB2O4 could be available at 900°C, CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor could be effectively excited by the near ultraviolet light (NUV) (392 nm), and the luminescent intensity of CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor reached to the highest when the doped‐Eu3+ content was 4 mol%. The emission spectra of CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor could exhibit red emission at 612 nm and orange emission at 588 nm, which are ascribed to the 5D07F2 and 5D07F1 transitions of Eu3+ ions. Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method under a weak reducing atmosphere. The obtained phosphor was characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) techniques. The phase structure of the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was akermanite type, which is a member of the melilite group. The surface morphology of the sintered phosphor was not uniform and phosphors aggregated tightly. EDX and FT‐IR spectra confirm the elements present in the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor. Under UV excitation, a broadband emission spectrum was found. The emission spectra observed in the green region centered at 535 nm, which is due to the 4f–5d transition. The mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increases in the mechanical load. The ML spectra were similar to the photoluminescence (PL), which indicates that ML is emitted from the same emitting center of Eu2+ ions as PL. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A near‐ultraviolet (NUV) blue‐emitting phosphor Ba9Al2Si6O24:Ce3+ (BAS:Ce3+) was synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction. BAS:Ce3+ had an excitation band peak at about 328 nm and showed a blue emission band. The NUV‐blue emission band had a peak at about 386 nm with a band width of about 60 nm, attributed to the 5d–4f transition of Ce3+. Fluorescent decay showed an exponential model with a lifetime of 27.2 nsec. At 150°C, the luminescence intensity decreased to 68.7% compared with the intensity at room temperature.  相似文献

A blue CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method and the phosphor characterized in terms of crystal structure, particle size, photoluminescence (PL), thermoluminescence (TL) and mechanoluminescence (ML) properties using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), PL spectroscopy, TLD reader and ML impact technique. The XRD result shows that phosphor is formed in a single phase and has a monoclinic structure with the space group C2/c. Furthermore, the PL excitation spectra of Eu2+‐doped CaMgSi2O6 phosphor showed a strong band peak at 356 nm and the PL emission spectrum has a peak at 450 nm. The depths and frequency factors of trap centers were calculated using the TL glow curve by deconvolution method in which the trap depths were found to be 0.48 and 0.61 eV. The formation of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphor was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The ML intensity increased linearly with the impact velocity of the piston used to deform the phosphor. It was shown that the local piezoelectricity‐induced electron bombardment model is responsible for the ML emission. Finally, the optical properties of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphors are discussed. Results on optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) in LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ are reported. Continuous wave OSL signal as recorded using blue (470 nm) stimulation was found to be ~31% that of standard phosphor lithium magnesium phosphate. The rate of OSL depletion for standard phosphor lithium magnesium phosphate is only three times less as compared with that of LiCaAlF6:Eu2+. Strong photoluminescence (PL) in the near ultraviolet region is observed for LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ with the characteristic Eu2+ emission at 369 nm for 254 nm excitation. The thermoluminescence (TL) glow peak for LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ was observed at around 180°C. The glow peak was about six times more intense compared with the dosimetric peak of the well known thermoluminescence dosimetric (TLD) phosphor LiF‐TLD 100. Thus this phosphor deserves much more attention than it has received until now and may be useful as a dosimetric material in radiation dosimetry. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A blue‐emitting phosphor Ca12Al14O32F2:Eu2+ was synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction under a reductive atmosphere. The X‐ray diffraction measurements indicate that a pure phase Ca12Al14O32F2:Eu2+ can be obtained for low doping concentration of Eu2+. The phosphor has a strong absorption in the range 270–420 nm with a maximum at ~340 nm and blue emission in the range 400–500 nm with chromatic coordination of (0.152, 0.045). The optimal doping concentration is ~0.24. In addition, the luminescence properties of the as‐synthesized phosphor were evaluated by comparison with those of Ca12Al14O32Cl2:Eu2+ and the commercially available phosphor BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+. The emission intensity of Ca12Al14O32F2:Eu2+ was ~72% that of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ under excitation at λ = 375 nm. The results indicate that Ca12Al14O32F2:Eu2+ has potential application as a near‐UV‐convertible blue phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

Eu2+‐activated SrMg2Al16O27 novel phosphor was synthesized by a combustion method (550°C furnace). The prepared phosphor was first characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) for confirmation of phase purity. SEM analysis showed the morphology of the phosphor. The photoluminescence characteristics showed broad‐band excitation at 324 nm, which was monitored at 465 nm emission wavelength. The SrMg2Al16O27:Eu2+ phosphor shows broad blue emission centred at 465 nm, emitting a blue light corresponding to 4f65d1 → 4f7 transition. Here we report the photoluminescence characteristics of the prepared phosphor and compare it with commercial BAM:Eu2+ phosphor. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A europium (Eu)‐doped di‐calcium magnesium di‐silicate phosphor, Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, was prepared using a solid‐state reaction method. The phase structure, particle size, surface morphology, elemental analysis, different stretching mode and luminescence properties were analyzed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) with energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) and mechanoluminescence (ML). The phase structure of Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ was an akermanite‐type structure, which belongs to the tetragonal crystallography with space group P4?21m; this structure is a member of the melilite group and forms a layered compound. The surface of the prepared phosphor was not found to be uniform and particle distribution was in the nanometer range. EDX and FTIR confirm the components of Eu2+‐doped Ca2MgSi2O7 phosphor. Under UV excitation, the main emission peak appeared at 530 nm, belonging to the broad emission ascribed to the 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. The ML intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increasing impact velocity. A CIE color chromaticity diagram and ML spectrum confirmed that the prepared Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphor would emit green color and the ML spectrum was similar to that of PL, which indicated that ML is emitted from the same center of Eu2+ ions. A novel blue‐emitting phosphor of Eu2+‐activated NaMgPO4 was prepared by combustion‐assisted synthesis. Sodium dihydrogen phosphate and magnesium nitrate were used as the source of Na, P and Mg, respectively. The ratios of magnesium and phosphorus components that were dissolved into the combustion solution were changed from 1:1 to 1:1.3. Their effect on the crystallinities and photoluminescence spectra of the phosphor particles were investigated. The post‐heated phosphor particles had a broad excitation wavelength that ranged from 240 to 410 nm. The phosphor particles prepared from the combustion solution with a 1:1.2 ratio of magnesium to phosphorus had maximum emission intensity under ultraviolet excitation. The effect of doped Eu2+ concentration on the emission intensity of NaMgPO4:Eu2+ was also investigated.  相似文献

Using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction, the chlorine in Ba2YB2O6Cl is gradually replaced by F, and a new compound with the nominal chemical formula Ba2YB2O6F and two phosphors doped with Ce3+ and Eu3+, respectively, are obtained. X‐Ray diffraction and photoluminescence spectroscopy are used to characterize the as‐synthesized samples. The as‐synthesized Ba2YB2O6Cl exhibits bright blue emission in the spectral range ~ 330–410 nm with a maximum around 363 nm under X‐ray or UV excitation. Ba2YB2O6F:0.01Ce3+ exhibits blue emission in the range ~ 340–570 nm with a maximum around 383 nm. Ba2YB2O6F:0.01Eu3+ exhibits a predominantly 5D07 F2 emission (~610 nm) and the relative intensities of the 5D07 F0,1,2 emissions are tunable under different wavelength UV excitation. The luminescence behaviors of the two phosphors are explained simply in terms of the host composition and site occupancy probability of Ce3+ and Eu3+, respectively. The results indicate that these phosphors have potential application as a blue phosphor or as a red phosphor. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Eu2+‐doped Ba3Si6O12N2 phosphors were prepared successfully via a modified solid‐state diffusion method. The phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence measurements. These phosphors were effectively excited at 355 nm and an intense emission peaking in the range 480 nm to 525 nm in the blue region was observed. The optimized dopant concentration was determined to be 1 mol% of Eu2+ ion. The colour coordinates for phosphor were found to be (0.196, 0.326) in the blue region. This phosphor may find application for near‐ultraviolet (NUV) excited lamp phosphors. The thermoluminescence study shows the complex glow curve. Trapping parameters (activation energy and frequency factor) were calculated for individual deconvoluted peaks by Chen's peak shape method, the initial rise method and the whole glow peak method. An orange‐emitting phosphor, Eu2+‐activated LiSr4(BO3)3, was synthesized using the conventional solid‐state reaction. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra, and temperature dependence of the luminescence intensity of the phosphor were investigated. The results showed that LiSr4(BO3)3:Eu2+ could be efficiently excited by incident light of 250–450 nm, and emits a strong orange light. With increasing temperature, the emission bands of LiSr4(BO3)3:Eu2+ show an abnormal blue‐shift with broadening bandwidth and decreasing emission intensity. Two synthesis routes, solid‐state reaction and precipitation reaction, were employed to prepare BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors in this study. Discrepancies in the luminescence green emission at 505 nm for the solid‐state reaction method sample and in the yellow emission at 570 nm for the sample prepared by the precipitation reaction method, were observed respectively. A detail investigation about the discrepant luminescence of BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors was performed by evaluation of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL)/photoluminescence excitation (PLE), decay time and thermal quenching properties. The results showed that the yellow emission was generated from the BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphor, while the green emission was ascribed to a small amount of Ba2SiO4:Eu2+ compound that was present in the solid‐state reaction sample. This work clarifies the luminescence properties of Eu2+ ions in BaSiO3 and Ba2SiO4 hosts.  相似文献

Ca3SiO4Cl2 co‐doped with Ce3+,Eu2+ was prepared by high temperature reaction. The structure, luminescent properties and the energy transfer process of Ca3SiO4Cl2: Ce3+,Eu2+ were investigated. Eu2+ ions can give enhanced green emission through Ce3+ → Eu2+ energy transfer in these phosphors. The green phosphor Ca2.9775SiO4Cl2:0.0045Ce3+,0.018Eu2+ showed intense green emission with broader excitation in the near‐ultraviolet light range. A green light‐emitting diode (LED) based on this phosphor was made, and bright green light from this green LED could be observed by the naked eye under 20 mA current excitation. Hence it is considered to be a good candidate for the green component of a three‐band white LED. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Zn‐doped CaTiO3:Eu3+ red phosphors for enhanced photoluminescence in white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) were synthesized by a solid‐state method. The structure and morphology of the obtained phosphor samples were observed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the impact of Ca, Zn and Eu content on their photoluminescence properties was studied. The results indicated that Zn not only participates in the formation of defects in suitable lattice matrices but also has a role in flux in the transformation from ZnO to Zn2TiO4, which is beneficial for the enhancement of photoluminescence properties. Photoluminescence test data showed that the Zn‐doped phosphor is excited efficiently by near‐ultraviolet (NUV) light at wavelengths around 398 nm and emits an intense red light with a broad peak around 616 nm corresponding to the 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+. The intensity of this phosphor emission is three times stronger than that without Zn‐doping. Furthermore, this phosphor has very good thermal stability, high color purity and a low sintered temperature, all of which suggest its potential as a promising red phosphor for white LEDs.
