Schuster. 4.Metahygrobiella chilensis Engel & Schuster is a new name forCephalozia heteroica Schuster & Engel. 5.Metzgeria alpina Schuster & Engel is described as new. 6. The correct name forPsychotria carapichea isCarapichea guianensis. Also, the authority ofPsychotria carapichea was previously incorrectly cited, because of an oversight of the illegitimacy ofTapogomea carapichea Poir. The complex taxonomic history of this species is analyzed, and the authority of the binomial is correctly cited. In addition,P. ligularis, which was treated as closely related toC. guianensis in previous publications, is transferred toCarapichea and it is now known asCarapichea ligularis.  相似文献

With the rediscovery of Ardisia gigantifolia, the long‐standing confusion with A. pseudoverticillata, A. kteniophylla and A. dasyrhizomatica owing to the misinterpretation of the type of A. gigantifolia is clarified. It is shown that A. dasyrhizomatica is a later synonym of A. gigantifolia, while A. kteniophylla and A. pseudoverticillata are conspecific and represent another species for which A. kteniophylla is the earliest name available. Ardisia kteniophylla is the correct scientific name for the Chinese medicinal plant ’Zou Ma Tai’.  相似文献

Lectotypification of Crataegus crus-galli permits the common ten-stamened entity of the northern United States and adjacent Canada to retain its name. The correct name for the related 20-stamen form, usually called C. fontanesiana, is C. tenax. Crataegus persimilis, lectotypified here, is shown to occur in Ontario as well as New York, having been previously misidentified as C. ?bushii and C. prunifolia in Ontario. A horticultural taxon usually (but improperly) called C. prunifolia is provided with a new cultivar name.  相似文献

The holotype of a bothid flounder,Arnoglossus tapeinosomus (Bleeker, 1866), was re-examined and found to bear none of the diagnostic characters ascribed by many authors to the species. In addition, the shape of the prevomer was clearly different between the holotype and 18 specimens supposedly“A. tapeinosomus.” A. macrolophus Alcock, 1889, which was synonymized underA. tapeinosomus by Weber and de Beaufort (1929), is considered as a valid replacement name for“A. tapeinosomus,” because of the elongated anterior rays in the dorsal fin and a large, dark spot on the posterior dorsal and anal fin bases.A. tapeinosomus is redescribed from the holotype.  相似文献

The predator efficacy ofPhytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot andAmblyseius californicus (McGregor) (Acarina: Phytoseiidae) when feeding on the Banks grass mite (BGM),Oligonychus pratensis (Banks) (Tetranychidae), was compared under controlled laboratory conditions. Predation byP. persimilis andA. californicus reduced the BGM densities by 60% and 28%, respectively. In general, phytoseiids preferentially fed upon the more abundant instars. Ovipositional rates forP. persimilis while feeding on BGM approximated rates when feeding onTetranychus spp. The use of a trade name is not an endorsement by Texas A&M University.  相似文献

Summary Curves were established for the pH response of respiration on eleven substrates byAzotobacter vinelandii andAcetobacter diazotrophicus. With every substrate the optimal pH forA. diazotrophicus was lower than forA. vinelandii. Foliar phosphorus content and mycorrhizal infection of dipterocarp seedlings growing in a 61-year-old forest plantation (site A) and a selectively logged forest (site B) were determined. Mycorrhizal infection levels were high–83.7% forShorea bracteolata and 95.0% forS. leprosula at site A, and 77.8% forS. leprosula and 86.3% forS. curtisii at site B. The seedlings all had similar foliar phosphorus contents although available soil phosphorus at site B was half that at site A. Significant correlations were obtained between foliar phosphorus content and percentage mycorrhizal infection at site B only.  相似文献

The type of Carex filiformis is an illustration, which is pluri‐interpretable and therefore an epitype is designated here. As epitypified, C. filiformis L. becomes synonymous with Carex montana L. (the latter getting priority), and therefore not the correct name for Carex tomentosa L. as stated by Nelmes and other authors.
