The structure of the anode space charge sheath of a vacuum arc is studied with allowance for the dependence of the negative anode fall on the ratio of the directed electron velocity v 0 to the electron thermal velocity v T for different values of the flux density of atoms evaporated from the anode. Poisson’s equation for the sheath potential is solved taking into account the electron space charge, fast cathode ions, and slow ions produced due to the ionization of atoms evaporated from the anode. The kinetic equation for atoms and slow anode ions is solved with allowance for ionization in the collision integral. Analytic solutions for the velocity distribution functions of atoms and slow ions and the density of slow ions are obtained. It is shown that the flux of slow ions substantially affects the spatial distribution of the electric field E(z) in the sheath. As the flux density increases, the nonmonotonic dependence E(z) transforms into a monotonic one and the sheath narrows. For a given flux of evaporated atoms Πa, the increase in the ratio of the directed electron velocity to the electron thermal velocity leads again to a nonmonotonic dependence E(z). As z increases, the electric field first increases, passes through the maximum, decreases, passes through the minimum E min, and then again increases toward the anode. There is a limiting value of the ratio (v 0/v T )* at which E min(z) vanishes. At v 0/v T > (v 0/V T )*, the condition for the existence of a steady-state sheath is violated and the profiles of the field and potential in the sheath become oscillating. The dependence of (v 0/v T )* on the flux density of evaporated atoms Π a is obtained. It is shown that the domain of existence of steady-state solutions in the sheath broadens with increasing Π a .  相似文献

The type material of Epeorella borneonia Ulmer, 1939, the sole species of the genus Epeorella Ulmer, 1939 is reinvestigated and a lectotype (male imago) is designated. Based on several morphological structures, the synonymy with Epeorus Eaton, 1881 (Rhithrogeninae) is rejected. Epeorella stat. prop., known only at the winged stages, belongs to the subfamily Ecdyonurinae, and is a probable endemic of the island of Borneo. The newly erected genus Darthus Webb & McCafferty, 2007, also endemic to Borneo and only known by one species at the nymphal stage, is shown to be a junior subjective synonym of Epeorella. The new combination Epeorella vadora (Webb & McCafferty, 2007) is proposed for the species. The distribution of known heptageniid species from the Sunda Islands is discussed.  相似文献

The ASTRA-ETL code is used to simulate L-H transition scenarios and calculate the energy confinement time and the threshold power of the L-H transition as functions of the averaged electron density 〈n〉, the averaged magnetic field B, the neutral density n n , and the neutral temperature T n , as well as the values of T Se , T Si , and n S at the separatrix. It is shown that the linear dependence of the threshold power of the L-H transition on the averaged electron density, Q L-H∝〈n〉, is associated with an increase in the viscosity of a poloidally rotating plasma due to charge exchange and is governed exclusively by an increase in the neutral density n n . When the averaged electron density 〈n〉 is low, the threshold power rises because T Si and T Se increase. The accuracy of predictions for the power threshold of the L-H transition can be improved if the scaling of Q L-H versus 〈n〉 and B is derived by processing experimental data from discharges with close parameter values at the separatrix. The hysteresis effect during an L-H-L transition triggered by varying the input power is modeled. The global energy confinement time τE is shown to increase linearly with 〈n〉 in the range 〈n〉<3.6×1019 m?3 and to saturate at higher electron densities; this behavior is found to be characteristic of the Ohmic, L-, and H-modes. The saturation is associated with the fact that losses via the ion channel (when the transport coefficients are density-independent) dominate over losses via the electron channel. The dependence of τ E on the input power is determined from the calculated database and is found to be τ E =0.12Q L-H ?0.46 at a fixed averaged electron density 〈n〉. In the simulations of the L-H transition, the energy confinement time τ E increases by a factor of 2 only if the thermal diffusivity inside the transport barrier is lower than that in the central plasma by a factor of more than 6.  相似文献

The spider genus Arboricaria Bosmans, 2000 is redefined and an updated diagnosis given. The differences between Arboricaria and Micaria Westring, 1851 are discussed in detail. A key to all five species of the genus is provided. One new species, Arboricaria zonsteini sp. n. (♂♀), is described based on specimens from Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. One new synonym is proposed: Arboricaria koeni Bosmans in Bosmans & Blick, 2000, syn. n. is assigned to Arboricaria sociabilis Kulczyński in Chyzer & Kulczyński, 1897. Data on the distribution of Arboricaria in Russia and adjacent countries are presented with references to the papers on local spider faunas.  相似文献

Many species in the families of Rosaceae, Solanaceae, and Scrophulariaceae exhibit gametophytic self-incompatibility, a phenomenon controlled by two polymorphic genes at the S-locus, style-S (S-RNase) and pollen-S (SFB). Sequences of both genes show high levels of diversity, characteristic of genes involved in recognition of self-incompatibility systems in plants. In this study, S 24 -RNase and SFB 24 alleles were cloned from Prunus armeniaca cv. Chuanzhihong (Chinese apricot). Sequence comparisons of deduced amino acid sequences revealed that the P. armeniaca S 24 -haplotype has different SFB alleles, but shares a single S-RNase allele with P. armeniaca S 4 -haplotype. Moreover, P. armeniaca S 24 -RNase haplotype has a single and three different alleles with S 1 -RNase of P. tenella (dwarf almond) and S 1 -RNase of P. mira (smooth pit peach), respectively. The functionalities of SFB 24 and SFB 4 have been evaluated by pollen tube growth and controlled field tests of P. tenella and P. mira. Genetic analysis of the two intercrosses showed that progenies segregated 1:1 into two S-genotype classes, which is consistent with the expected ratio for semi-compatibility. These findings imply that the allelic function of the S 24 -haplotype is identical to that of the S 4 -haplotype in a self-incompatibility reaction. Thus, these two Prunus S-haplotypes are in fact two neutral variants of the same S-haplotype. The evolution of the S-allele is also discussed in terms of both functions and differences between S 24 - and S 4 -haplotypes in Prunus.  相似文献

The pha-2 mutant was isolated in 1993 by Leon Avery in a screen for worms with visible defects in pharyngeal feeding behavior. In pha-2 mutant worms, the pharyngeal isthmus is abnormally thick and short and, in contrast to wild-type worms, harbors several cell nuclei. We show here that pha-2 encodes a homeodomain protein and is homologous to the vertebrate homeobox gene, Hex (also known as Prh). Consistent with a function in pharyngeal development, the pha-2 gene is expressed in the pharyngeal primordium of Caenorhabditis elegans embryos, particularly in pm5 cells that form the bulk of the isthmus. We show that in the pha-2 mutant there is a failure of the pm5 cells to elongate anteriorly while keeping their nuclei within the nascent posterior bulb to form the isthmus during the 3-fold embryonic stage. We also present evidence that pha-2 regulates itself positively in pm5 cells, that it is a downstream target of the forkhead gene pha-4, and that it may also act in the isthmus as an inhibitor of the ceh-22 gene, an Nkx2.5 homolog. Finally, we have begun characterizing the regulation of the pha-2 gene and find that intronic sequences are essential for the complete pha-2 expression profile. The present report is the first to examine the expression and function of an invertebrate Hex homolog, that is, the C. elegans pha-2 gene.  相似文献

The λdv1 plasmid forms an extensive oligomeric series of circular DNA molecules in recombination-proficient (recsu+) Escherichia coli. These rec+ [λdv1]+ strains can be typed into the following four classes according to which member of the oligomeric series is most frequent: monomer, dimer, trimer, and tetramer strains. Each of these strains forms a set of circular λdv1 DNA molecules in which most members belong to the series l, 2l, 3l, 4l, where l is the length of the most frequent circular DNA that characterizes the strain—i.e. l equals the length of the most frequent oligomer in the respective strain. In a given strain, the frequency of a molecular species decreases as its length becomes a larger multiple of l. For example, the dimer strains produce dimers, tetramers, hexamers, octomers, etc., in decreasing frequencies, which reach the limits of detection at about the hexadecamer. When recA? mutations that are absolutely defective for host recombination are introduced into each of these four strains, l retains the same values as in the parent rec+ strain, but oligomers larger than 2l are not formed, and the frequency of the 2l oligomer is much reduced. The introduction of recB? or recC? mutations, which are only partially defective for host recombination, produces a much smaller perturbation of the rec+ distributions, and rec+recA? merodiploids exhibit the rec+ phenotype with respect to both oligomerization and host recombination. The effects of rec? mutations on the distribution of λdv1 oligomers and the nature of the oligomeric series produced in rec+ cells all indicate that an intermolecular reciprocal recombination between two circular λdv1 DNAs is the principal reaction responsible for oligomerization. It is suggested that the small residual oligomerization that yields 2l oligomers in recA?cells results from aberrant segregation of the DNA strands at the termination of the replication of l-sized molecules. The inactivation of recA, but not of recB or C, also results in a marked reduction in the frequency of spontaneous curing which in recA+dv1+]hosts leads to the segregation of [λdv?]cells. However, spontaneous curing does not appear to be dependent upon the recombination reactions that yield the [λdv 1+]oligomers, since the frequency of oligomerization in recA+ hosts decreases with increasing l, whereas the frequency of curing increases with increasing l.  相似文献

The Augochlora clade includes four genera: Augochlora Smith, Augochlorella Sandhouse, Ceratalictus Moure, and Pereirapis Moure. This is one of the richest and most widespread groups of Augochlorini bees. There are about 150 species, which occur from Argentina to Canada. The species of Augochlora clade are considered solitary to facultatively social, except Ceratalictus for which nothing is known. Wood nesting behavior arose once in the clade, in Augochlora sensu strictu. The objective of this study is to describe four new species and to present a revised phylogenetic analysis of the Augochlora clade for the placement of these species. The morphological matrix comprised 77 characters and 42 terminals, and resulted in two most parsimonious trees. The monophyly of the Augochlora clade is corroborated. Ceratalictus and Pereirapis are considered as sister groups and Ceratalictus inflexus sp. nov. came as sister to other species of Ceratalictus. Augochlora and Augochlorella are monophyletic and sister groups. Both extant subgenera of Augochlora were corroborated as monophyletic. Augochlorella comis is considered as sister group to the rest of Augochlorella species. All Augochlorella new species described belong to the Augochlorella ephyra group. Augochlorella kelliae sp. nov. is phylogenetically related to Augochlorella una. Augochlorella procliva sp. nov. and Augochlorella mavricera sp. nov. constitute a clade with Augochlorella acarinata. Including the new species, Augochlorella has 19 species and Ceratalictus 11 species. A revised key for species of Augochlorella and Ceratalictus is also presented in the Supplementary Information.  相似文献

A list of the 356 species of Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) recorded from Finland is presented, which comprises 6 Lestremiinae, 156 Micromyinae, 16 Winnertziinae, 69 Porricondylinae, and 109 Cecidomyiinae. The faunistic knowledge of Finnish Winnertziinae, Porricondylinae and Cecidomyiinae is regarded as particularly poor. Based on species numbers known from other countries in Europe, a conservative estimate is 700–800 species of Cecidomyiidae actually occurring in Finland.  相似文献

The deduced protein product of the Bacillus subtilis gene yqfI, which is 255 residues long, shares homology (25% identity) with the Escherichia coli RecO protein. A null allele of yqfI, when present in an otherwise Rec+ B. subtilis strain, causes cells to become highly sensitive to DNA-damaging agents, and plasmid transformation (intramolecular recombination) is reduced by 25-fold while chromosomal transformation (intermolecular recombination) is only moderately affected (2.5-fold reduction). Therefore, the yqfI gene was renamed recO and its null allele is referred to as recO1. The recO1 mutation was introduced into recombination-deficient strains representative of the epistatic groups α (recF, recR and recL strains), β (addA5 addB72), γ (recH342) and ? (recU40). The recO mutation did not affect the sensitivity of recF, recR or recL cells to DNA-damaging agents, increased the sensitivity of recU and addAB cells and abolished the DNA repair capacity of recH cells. The recO mutation did not affect intermolecular recombination in recF, recL, recH or recU cells, but reduced (by about 9-fold) the incidence of intermolecular recombination in addAB cells. The recO mutation did not affect intramolecular recombination in the addAB, recU, recF or recL cells, but reduced it by about 75-fold in recH cells. The defects caused by the recO1 mutation can be partially suppressed by a common suppressor of the recF, recL and recR phenotypes. We therefore assigned recO to epistatic group α and predict that the RecO protein acts at the same stage of recombination as the RecF, RecL and RecR proteins, in a RecFLOR complex.  相似文献

The Australian harvestmen genus Megalopsalis (Neopilionidae: Enantiobuninae) is recognised as a senior synonym of the genera Spinicrus and Hypomegalopsalis, and seven new species are described in Megalopsalis: Megalopsalis suffugiens, Megalopsalis walpolensis, Megalopsalis caeruleomontium, Megalopsalis atrocidiana, Megalopsalis coronata, Megalopsalis puerilis and Megalopsalis sublucens. A morphological phylogenetic analysis of the Enantiobuninae is also conducted including the new species. Monophyly of Neopilionidae and Enantiobuninae including ‘Monoscutidae’ is corroborated, with the Australasian taxa as a possible sister clade to the South American Thrasychirus.  相似文献

In a comparative study of different populations of Xiphinema, the significance of the female gonad structure in species determination is stressed, and monodelphic, pseudomonodelphic, and didelphic forms in the genus are defined. X. chambersi is redescribed and illustrated, X. ensiculiferum and X. krugi are redefined, and X. ensiculiferoides n.sp. and X. orthotenum n.sp. are described. Proposed new synonymies are: X. itanhaense = X. brasiliense; X. bulgariensis and X. conurum = X. italiae; X. ifacolum = X. basiri; X. macrostylum = X. ensiculiferum; X. truncatum = X. elongatum; and X. vulgare = X. setariae. X. yapoense is considered species inquirenda and X. obtusum a nomen dubium. The following eight subgenera of the genus Xiphinema are proposed: Radiphinema n. subg., Krugiphinema n. subg., Xiphinema n. subg., Elongiphinema n. subg., Halliphinema n. subg., Basiphinema n. subg., Rotundiphinema n. subg., and Diversiphinema n. subg. A key to the subgenera of Xiphinema is presented, plus a list of 50 species in the genus, their synonyms, and 10 species inquirendae.  相似文献

The systematic position of the lichen genus Heppia in the order Lichinales was investigated. 18S rDNA sequence data were analyzed using a Bayesian approach to infer phylogeny using Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. The Lichinales are divided at family level into the sister groups Lichinaceae and Peltulaceae. The genus Heppia forms a highly supported clade in the family Lichinaceae. It is shown that the genus Heppia is morphologically well circumscribed within the Lichinaceae. As a nomenclatural consequence, the family name Heppiaceae is placed into synonymy under the older name Lichinaceae.  相似文献
