The aim of this study was the analysis of drug-resistance and frequency appearance of beta-hemolytic streptococci strains which were isolated in 2003-2005 in the University Hospital at the L. Rydygier Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń. Among investigeted beta-hemolytic streptococci the most frequency isolated species was S. agalactiae. All isolates examined in our study were susceptible to penicillin, the higest rate of resistance was found for tetracycline. The rates of resistence to macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramin B (phenotyp MLS(B)) were as follows: S. agalactiae (18.7%), S. pyogenes (10.1%), group G streptococci (10.6%) and group C streptococci (8.0%). In our study we presented also a special case patient from which in investigeted period S. agalactiae was isolated twenty eight times. For ten chromosomal DNA isolated from this patient three different PFGE profiles were obtained.  相似文献

Two hundred and twenty four hospitalized children in Baghdad aged between 1 month and 10 years were examined for Streptococcal infections. Thirty-four percent of the throat and saliva specimens were positive for beta-hemolytic streptococci. Males were more susceptible to infection with group A streptococci than females. Streptococcus of group A was isolated from 39.5% of the positive cases while group G was 47.4%. The etiological significance of the latter group in tonsillitis and otitis media is to be further investigated. Ninety six percent of the isolated streptococci were T typable and 13.3% of the strains were M typable. A high frequency of type T-11 was found in streptococcal infections. T type 3875 was found to be a new provisional type. All isolates were M untypable, and antiopacity factor negative except for two isolates of T type 4 which were positive in both typings.  相似文献

Studies of beta-haemolytic streptococci isolated in material received from patients in South-west Essex for a further period of three years showed that the overall percentage of tetracycline resistance has remained almost stationary, varying from 28% in 1963 through 35% in 1965 to 27% in 1967.Ear, sound, and skin infections retain a high incidence of resistant strains, while sputa are still a relatively minor source of such organisms. Organisms isolated from throat swabs have an incidence of resistance closest to the mean.  相似文献

Sensitivity of beta-hemolytic streptococci of group A, Streptococcus viridans, Staphylococcus aureus, epidermal staphylococci, pneumococci, Proteus and Ps. aeruginosa isolated in 1975-1978 from patients with tonsillitis, otitis, sinusitis and other otorhinolaryngological diseases was studied with respect to 19 antibiotics. Data on comparison of the antibiotic sensitivity of the microflora isolated from the patients with otorhinolaryngological diseases in 1964-1974 and 1975-1978 are presented. It was shown that beta-hemolytic streptococci were highly sensitive to all the antibiotics tested except tetracycline. Among Streptococcus viridans the strains resistant to many antibiotics were more frequent than among beta-hemolytic streptococci. Most of the Staphylococcus aureus strains were sensitive to gentamycin, cephaloridin, oxacillin and resistant to the other antibiotics. The epidermal staphylococci were characterized by approximately the same antibiotic sensitivity as Staphylococcus aureus. Resistance of the predominating majority of the Pneumococcus strains to tetracycline was noted. Proteus and Ps. aeruginosa were resistant to all the antibiotics except aminoglycosides. The microflora isolated from the cases with otorhinolaryngological diseases in 1975-1978 were mainly characterized by lower antibiotic sensitivity than that isolated from the cases with the same diseases in 1964-1974. It is possible to suppose that the microorganisms isolated from the patients with otorhinolaringological diseases had no significant differences with respect to their antibiotic sensitivity from those isolated from the patients with other pathological processes.  相似文献

Upper respiratory tract consists resident and transient bacterial microflora, which in appropriate condition can cause infection. Bacteriological study was performed among 201 patients with upper respiratory tract infections treated in ambulatory. From nasal and pharyngeal swabs Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Streptococci group A, B, C, G were isolated. Antibiotic susceptibility testing of isolated strains was performed using CLSI criteria. All isolated strains of streptococci were susceptible to penicillin; some of them demonstrated resistance to macrolides and lincosamides. Few isolated strains of H. influenzae demonstrated resistance to penicillin and cotrimoxazole. Azitromycin resistant strains were not detected. All isolated strains of M. catarrhalis were beta-lactamase positive and demonstrated resistance to penicillin. Strains of methicillin sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) were isolated most frequently from pharyngeal swabs (35.4%) and S. pneumoniae (33.3)--from nasal swabs.  相似文献

The usefulness was assessed of three commercially available systems for rapid identification of streptococcal strains. The studied material comprised 68 strains of streptococci and enterococci (including 24 standard strains) belonging to serological groups: A (14 strains), B (10), C (11), D (10), F (3) and G (10), as well as 10 S. pneumoniae strains. The strains were isolated from throat, nasal, wound swabs, blood, pus of inpatients and throat and nasal swabs of outpatients. For the identification of streptococci 3 commercially available systems were used: API 20 STREP (bioMerieux, France), rapid ID 32 Strep (bioMerieux, France), Streptoplast PPL 18 (HTL, Poland). The determinations were done according to producer's instructions. The highest percent of correctly identified strains was obtained with the rapid ID 32 Strep--80.9%, with the API 20 STREP--76.4% strains were identified correctly and with the PPL 18--61.8%. The study showed that the API 20 STREP and rapid ID 32 STREP are suitable for the identification of streptococcal strains from groups: A, B, C, D, F and enterococci--group D. The proportions of correctly identified strains from these groups with the Streptoplast PPL 18 were lower than those determined with the bioMerieux systems. Using of three identification systems streptococci from group G and S. pneumoniae strains cannot be identified.  相似文献

Susceptibility of 64 beta-hemolytic streptococcal strains isolated from the patients with sore throat was studied by the method of serial dilutions in fluid nutrient medium (Konikov broth). Heterogenecity with respect to the sensitivity was investigated in 34 strains among separate populations of the microbes (10 to 15 in every strain). The MIC of benzylpenicillin, oxacillin and erythromycin ranged within 0.007--0.24 U/ml, 0.02--0.36 gamma/ml and 0.005--0.1 gamma/ml respectively. The MIC of benzylpenicillin with respect to separate populations most sensitive to it was 0.007--0.015 U/ml, while that with respect to the lease sensitive populations ranged from 0.015 to 0.24 U/ml. The respective values for oxacillin were 0.02--0.12 and 0.18--0.36 gamma/ml and those for erythromycin were 0.005--0.025 and 0.05--0.1 gamma/ml. Therefore, the beta-hemolytic streptococci isolated from the patients with sore throat were characterized by a rather high sensitivity to the antibiotics which was important precondition for their efficiency in treatment of the patients with the above disease.  相似文献

The aim of our study was the analysis of Escherichia coli strains obtained from patients of University Hospital No 1 of dr A. Jurasz Collegium Medicum of L. Rydygier in Bydgoszcz Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and State Infectious Diseases Observatory Hospital of T. Browicz in Bydgoszcz, between 2007 and 2010. Among all microorganisms isolated from blood was 8.7% E. coli strains and 45.1% of all rods from Enterobacteriaceae family. Number of E. coli isolations from positive blood samples was: 64 in 2007, 69 in 2008, 77 in 2009 and 26 in the first half of 2010 year. The highest percentage of E. coli strains were obtained from patients of the Transplantology and Surgery Clinic (16.1%), the Nephrology and Internal Diseases Clinic with the Dialysis Centre (14.0%), the Pediatric, Hematology and Oncology Clinic (13.6%) and the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Clinic (13.6%). All analysed strains were susceptible to carbapenems, amikacin and tygecycline. The highest percentage of resistant strains were observed to ampicillin (70.7%), piperacillin (43.9%), tetracycline (42.8%) and doxycycline (38.8%). During four years of study 4 (6.3%), one, three and two E. coli strains with ESBL were isolated, respectively.  相似文献

459 blood donors aged 18-50 years were examined in 1987-1988 in Moscow. Among them, carrier state with respect to beta-hemolytic streptococci was detected in 107 donors (23.3%). The number of carriers gradually decreased with the increase of age of the examined donors. Group C streptococci occurred least of all (6.9%). Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci were isolated in 16.7% of the carriers. The isolation rate of streptococci from blood achieved its maximum in autumn and winter months and did not depend on preceding diseases, unhealthy working conditions, the rhesus factor and, with the exception of group A streptococci, the blood group. Among tonsillectomized donors carrier state with respect to beta-hemolytic streptococci occurred 2.2 times less frequently than among donors who had not undergone tonsillectomy. Carrier state with respect to beta-hemolytic streptococci was accompanied by higher levels of salivary sIgA antibodies to polysaccharide A, serum antibodies to polysaccharide A and circulating polysaccharide A. All beta-hemolytic streptococci were sensitive to erythromycin. All groups of streptococci showed the highest percentage of cultures resistant to gentamicin and tetracycline. In 100% of cases group A streptococci were sensitive to benzylpenicillin, methicillin, ampicillin, erythromycin and lincomycin.  相似文献

The aim of our study was to evaluate a frequency of isolation and susceptibility to antibiotics of Streptococcus pneumoniae penicillin resistant among 154 strains S. pneumoniae isolated between 2003 and 2006 in University Hospital of Dr. A. Jurasza in Bydgoszcz. Antimicrobial susceptibility was assessed by disc-diffusion method according to the guidelines of Clinical and laboratory Standards Institute and The national Reference Centre for Antimicrobial Susceptibility. Minimal inhibitory concentrations for penicillin and cefotaxime were assessed by E-test method. Study shows increasing isolation of SPPR strains from 8,2% in 2003 to 32,0% in 2006. Strains were mostly isolated from patients ofNeurosurgery and Neurotraumatology Clinic and Rehabilitation Clinic. SPPR strains were mainly isolated from respiratory tract. Over 68% of SPPR showed intermediate resistance to penicillin and 73,3% of strains were susceptible to cefotaxime. Between 2003 and 2006 increased percentage of resistance strains to erythromycin, tetracycline and sulphometoxasol.  相似文献

A battery of five tests was used for presumptive identification of the pathogenic streptococci. The non-serological methods included determination of hemolysis for all strains, bacitracin susceptibility for group A streptococci, hippurate hydrolysis by group B streptococci, and bile-esculin reaction for group D streptococci. Enterococcal group D streptococci were differentiated from non-enterococcal group D streptococci by 6.5% NaCl tolerance. Two other categories of streptococci resulted: beta-hemolytic streptococci non-groups A, B, or D; and alpha- or nonhemolytic streptococci, not enterococci, not further identified (viridans streptococci). The tests were used as a battery and not as single entities. In this manner more than 99% of the group A, 99% of the group B, 81% of the beta-hemolytic streptococci non-group A, B, or D, 99% of the group D enterococci, 97% of the group D non-enterococci, and 94% of the viridans streptococci were correctly identified.  相似文献

During the 12-month period primary throat, wound, and skin cultures, tentatively identified as B streptococci, were submitted by 10 different clinical laboratories for evaluation. A total of 692 beta-hemolytic streptococci were isolated from cultures submitted and examined in parallel by the fluorescent-antibody, precipitin, and bacitracin techniques. An evaluation of the specificity and sensitivity in conjunction with basic and personnel costs was determined for each method. The standard Lancefield precipitin method was established as the standard by which the bacitracin and flourescent antibody techniques were compared. With some variation depending on the commerical source of the disc, approximately 7% of the strains examined produced false reactions with the bacitracin disc. False-negative reactions were rarely noted by the group A fluorescent antibody technique (0.5%), but an appreciable number of other Lancefield groups (B, C, and G) were nonreactive with homologous conjugates.  相似文献

The study group were persons with risk factors of colonization by pathogenic strains and included smokers, patients suffering from paradontosis, and patients with visibly neglected oral cavity and teeth. We isolated and classified to the species or genera 488 microorganisms. Of posterior pharyngeal wall flora, 61% of were Gram-negative bacteria, represented predominantly by Haemophilus and anaerobic rods and aerobic cocci belonging to the Neisseria and Moraxella (Branhamella) genera. In the group of Gram-positive cocci (34% of the total number of microorganisms), oral streptococci, Stomatococcus mucilaginosus and Streptococcus pneumoniae were isolated most frequently. The affected by neoplastic lesions larynx, was colonized by similar bacterial groups. However, the incidence of Gram-positive cocci was higher. The main etiologic factor of purulent post-operative wound inflammations were methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains (MRSA), which had been absent among the bacteria isolated from patients on admission.  相似文献

Dental plaque from 76 children without amalgam restorations was screened for bacteria resistant to mercuric chloride. Seventy-one per cent of the children harboured mercury-resistant oral bacteria and the median percentage of the total oral microflora resistant to mercuric chloride was 0.007% (range 0-5.3%). Eighty-seven mercury-resistant bacteria were isolated and 86% of these were streptococci with Streptococcus mitis predominating. Sixty per cent of the mercury-resistant isolates were also resistant to at least one of the four antibiotics tested (penicillin, ampicillin, erythromycin and tetracycline) with resistance to tetracycline (40% of isolates) most frequently encountered.  相似文献

Sensitivity of 167 strains of beta-hemolytic streptococci of group A was studied with the method of serial dilutions on a solid agar medium for cultivation of streptococci. The medium was developed at the I. I. Mechnikov Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera. It does not require addition of blood or serum. The strains were found to be highly sensitive to penicillin, cephalothin and erythromycin. The number of the strains resistant to tetracycline, streptomycin, gentamycin, levomycetin (chloramphenicol) and ristomycin amounted to 51, 36, 23, 1.8 and 1.8 per cent, respectively. One of the strains (0.6 per cent) was resistant to lincomycin. Strains with multiple resistance were isolated. The necessity of regular control of distribution of antibiotic resistance among staphylococci is indicated.  相似文献

目的 通过采集健康人群口咽部分泌物,分析上呼吸道中α-溶血性链球菌的分布状况,并对革兰阳性化脓性球菌进行生物拮抗试验,为进一步研究上呼吸道益生菌提供理论基础。方法 随机自愿原则,用无菌咽拭子采集沈阳市年龄在3~75岁的300名健康人群咽后壁分泌物,对α-溶血性链球菌进行鉴定和定量分析。对致病菌的生物拮抗试验采用小缸杯法。结果 定量分析显示不同年龄人群咽后壁的α-溶血性链球菌检出率均较高。在咽后壁菌群中α-溶血性链球菌构成比最多的是幼儿组,达到60.3%。其中唾液链球菌群在幼儿组所占比重最大;老年组人群格氏链球菌占比较大;儿童、青年、成人以缓症链球菌和口腔链球菌为主。对革兰阳性化脓性球菌的生物拮抗试验显示,1株婴儿链球菌婴儿亚种能够拮抗8株致病菌;4株分离菌只能拮抗1株病原菌,提示不同的菌株拮抗病原菌的能力差异较大。结论 α-溶血性链球菌在人群中分布广,数量多,不同年龄人群的菌群构成存在差异。并且某些菌株显示出对致病菌较强的生物拮抗作用,推测这些菌株在呼吸道黏膜保护中起到重要作用,可作为上呼吸道益生菌的备选菌株。  相似文献

C. amycolatum is poorly recognized and rarely described in the world literature. So, better recognizing and understanding biology of these bacteria may help effectively prevent infections caused by them. The subject within the study were 70 of C. amycolatum strains which were isolated from the clinical specimens of patients hospitalized at the State Clinical Hospital in Bydgoszcz. After initial identification of examined strains based on Gram staining results, colonial morphology, biochemical and enzymatic features included in API Coryne and API ZYM tests (bioMérieux), growth at 20 degrees C, Tween 80 requirement, DNA and tyrosine hydrolysis, occurrence in clinical specimens and origin of C. amycolatum strains were analyzed. The investigated strains were the most frequently isolated from wound swabs (61.5%), urine (14.3%), drain swabs (7.1%) and mainly (37.2%) came from patients treated at the departments of surgery.  相似文献

An improved selective broth, colistin, oxolinic acid, Todd Hewitt broth (COTHB) for the isolation of Streptococcus pyogenes and other streptococci from swabs is described. Staphylococci, coryneforms and Gram negative organisms are inhibited in COTHB inoculated with swabs from skin lesions. Streptococcus pyogenes could be detected by a fluorescent antibody method and by the Streptex and Phadebact streptococcal grouping methods after 6 and 24 h incubation. Other streptococci of groups B, C and G, were also detected. Streptex was the most sensitive and specific method for the detection of streptococci of groups A, B, C and G in this broth. The method detected 78% of these streptococci in COTHB after 6 h incubation and 93% after 24 h incubation. Of the Strep. pyogenes isolated, 82% were detected in the broth by the Streptex method.  相似文献

Streptococci were isolated from the liquor or blood of 102 newborn infants and 16 infants in the first month of their life, suspected of having purulent meningitis, in 22 cases (18,5%). 5 isolated streptococcal strains were classified with group B on the basis of their cultural, biochemical and serological features. All of these strains were isolated from newborn infants during the first 3-4 days of their life. The occurrence of group B streptococci among all examined newborn infants was 4.8%; among the newborns with the positive results of bacteriological examination (73 infants) this figure was as high as 6.8%. The authors emphasize the necessity of producing, on an industrial scale, diagnostic preparations for the identification of group B streptococci playing a significant role in septic diseases and meningitides in newborns.  相似文献
