Dried Distiller’s Grains with Solubles (DDGS), a by-product of bio-ethanol production from maize and other cereals, is increasingly used as a feed additive. In this study, five Fusarium toxins, including fumonisin B1 (FB1), fumonisin B2 (FB2), deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEN) and beauvericin (BEA) were quantified by LC-MS/MS in 59 corn-DDGS samples. In addition, the fumonisin level in 30 randomly selected-samples was compared using an ELISA detection technique. No sample was free from mycotoxin contamination, and 50.8 % of the samples were co-contaminated with all five mycotoxins. Moreover, toxin levels were generally high, with mean levels of 9 mg kg?1 FB1, 6 mg kg?1 FB2, 1.2 mg kg?1 DON, 0.9 mg kg?1 ZEN, and 0.35 mg kg?1 BEA. Maximum levels for FB1 (143 mg kg?1) and FB2 (125 mg kg?1) are of acute toxicological relevance. The ELISA method had a tendency to underestimate the fumonisin content when compared with LC-MS/MS. Finally, this is the first reported beauvericin contamination in corn-DDGS.  相似文献

Twenty-nineFusarium species isolated from various sources in different districts of Taiwan were tested for their ability to produce fumonisins in corn cultures. OnlyFusarium moniliforme produced fumonisin B1 (FB1) and fumonisin B2 (FB2). The finding that the other 28Fusarium species produced neither FB1 nor FB2 is preliminary because only one strain per species was studied. The detection of FB1 and FB2 in cultures ofF. moniliforme was demonstrated by TLC and HPLC, and FB1 was further confirmed by mass spectrometry. In a separate experiment, in which 38 strains ofF. moniliforme were tested for fumonisins, approximately 66% (25/38) produced FB1 and/or FB2. Of the 25 strains, 14 produced only FB1 and 11 produced both FB1 and FB2, and the amounts of FB1 and FB2 produced by different strains varied greatly. This is the first report that fumonisins are found in corn cultures experimentally infected withF. moniliforme strains from Taiwan. The intake of mycotoxin-contaminated feeds can lead to nutrient losses and may have adverse effects on animal health and on productivity. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the mycobiota present in poultry feed samples, and (2) to evaluate the natural occurrence of aflatoxin B1, fumonisin B1 and zearalenone. Fungal counts were similar between all culture media tested (103 CFU g−1). The most frequent genus isolated was Penicillium spp. (41.26%) followed by Aspergillus spp. (33.33%) and Fusarium spp. (20.63%). High precision liquid chromatography was applied to quantify aflatoxin B1 and fumonisin B1. Thin layer chromatography was used to determine zearalenone levels. Aflatoxin B1 values ranged between 1.2 and 17.5 μg kg−1. Fumonisin B1 levels ranged between 1.5 and 5.5 μg g−1. Zearalenone levels ranged between 0.1 and 7 μg g−1. The present study shows the simultaneous occurrence of two carcinogenic mycotoxins, aflatoxin B1 and fumonisin B1, together with another Fusarium mycotoxin (zearalenone) in␣feed intended for poultry consumption. Many samples contained AFB1 levels near the permissible maximum and it could affect young animals. A synergistic toxic response is possible in animals under simultaneous exposure.  相似文献

Mature maize (Zea mays) embryos were exposed to 5, 10 and 25 µg ml–1 of deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEA), ochratoxin A (OA) and a mixture of zearalenone and deoxynivalenol (ZEA/DON) for 9 days. DON and the ZEA/DON combination were consistently more inhibitory of the measured parameters than either ZEA or OA. Based on the predicted additive values, it would appear that, in combination, ZEA and DON act synergistically to inhibit root and shoot growth. For ZEA alone, a concentration of 5 µg ml–1 ZEA was generally inhibitory of root and shoot elongation and fresh mass accumulation, while at 10 and 25 µg ml–1, this toxin had a stimulatory effect on these parameters. For OA, the measured effects on root and shoot growth at 5 and 25 µg ml–1 were stimulatory, while at 10 µg ml–1 OA, an inhibitory effect was observed. Fusarium toxins are secondary metabolites produced byfungi of these genera in many commodities under certain conditions. A study was carried out to investigate the co-occurrence of zearalenone (ZEN), deoxynivalenol (DON) and fumonisins (FB1 and FB2) in 52 samples of mixed-feed for poultry contaminated withFusarium verticillioides. The zearalenone and deoxynivalenol were checked using immunoaffinity column and the extraction of fumonisin was performed by strong anion exchange (SAX) solid phase column. Detection and quantification were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The limit of detection was 5 μg/kg for ZEN, 100 μg/kg for DON and 50 and 100 μg/kg for FB1 and FB2 respectively.Fusarium toxins were detected in 20 samples. Sixteen samples were positive for ZEN (30.7%) presenting levels that ranged from 7.4 μg/kg to 61.4 μg/kg (mean=27.0 μg/kg). 13.5% of the samples presented contaminations of DON, with levels ranging from 100.0 μg/kg to 253 μg/kg (mean=l18.07 μg/kg). FB1 was detected in 19.2% of samples, with levels ranging from 50.0 μg/kg to 110.0 μg/kg (mean=73.6 μg/kg). FB2 was not detected in any sample. In positive samples simultaneously contamination with two or three mycotoxins were detected in 9 of them (17.3%).  相似文献

Alternaria alternata, A. tenuissima, Fusarium graminearum, F. semitectum, F. verticillioides, Aspergillus flavus, and Aspergillus section Nigri strains obtained from blueberries during the 2009 and 2010 harvest season from Entre Ríos, Argentina were analyzed to determine their mycotoxigenic potential. Taxonomy status at the specific level was determined both on morphological and molecular grounds. Alternariol (AOH), alternariol monomethyl ether (AME), aflatoxins (AFs), zearalenone (ZEA), fumonisins (FBs), and ochratoxin A (OTA) were analyzed by HPLC and the trichotecenes deoxynivalenol (DON), nivalenol (NIV), HT-2 toxin (HT-2), T-2 toxin (T-2), fusarenone X (FUS-X), 3-acetyl-deoxynivalenol (3-AcDON), and 15-acetyl-deoxynivalenol (15-AcDON) by GC. Twenty-five out of forty two strains were able to produce some of the mycotoxins analyzed. Fifteen strains of Aspergillus section Nigri were capable of producing Fumonisin B1 (FB1); two of them also produced Fumonisin B2 (FB2) and one Fumonisin B3 (FB3). One of the F. graminearum isolated produced ZEA, HT-2, and T-2 and the other one was capable of producing ZEA and DON. Two A. alternata isolates produced AOH and AME. Four A. tenuissima were capable of producing AOH and three of them produced AME as well. One Aspergillu flavus strain produced aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), aflatoxin B2 (AFB2), and aflatoxin G1 (AFG1). To our knowledge, this is the first report showing mycotoxigenic capacity of fungal species isolated from blueberries that include other fungi than Alternaria spp.  相似文献

Fusarium mycotoxins, such as trichothecenes and zearalenone, are common grain and foodstuffs contaminants. Some of these like deoxynivalenol (DON) can negatively impact pregnancy success in swine, but evidence for direct ovarian effects of DON, zearalenone, and its major metabolite, alpha-zearalenol (ZEA) is meager. To evaluate the effects of two mycotoxins, DON and ZEA on porcine granulosa cell(s) (GC) proliferation, steroidogenesis and gene expression, pig GC from small follicles (1-5mm) were cultured for 2 days in 5% fetal bovine serum and 5% porcine serum-containing medium followed by 2 days in serum-free medium containing control (no mycotoxins) or mycotoxins (at various doses/combinations). Both DON and ZEA had biphasic effects on IGF-I-induced estradiol production, increasing estradiol production at smaller doses and inhibiting at larger doses. ZEA at 3,000 ng/mL (9.37 microM) increased IGF-I-induced progesterone production and at 30 ng/mL (0.0937 microM) and 300 ng/mL (0.937 microM) were without effect, but these doses of ZEA increased FSH-induced progesterone production. ZEA at 3,000 ng/mL inhibited FSH plus IGF-I-induced CYP19A1 and CYP11A1 mRNA abundance. DON inhibited progesterone production at 100 ng/mL (0.337 microM) and 1,000 ng/mL (3.37 microM) but at 10 ng/mL (0.0337 microM) was without effect. DON at 1,000 ng/mL (but not at 10 ng/mL) completely inhibited FSH plus IGF-I-induced CYP19A1 and CYP11A1 mRNA abundance. The concomitant treatment of ZEA had little effect on the dose response to DON. DON increased IGF-I-induced cell numbers at 10 and 100 ng/mL and inhibited cell numbers at 1,000 ng/mL, whereas ZEA had no effect on GC numbers. Only a combined treatment of DON and ZEA increased serum-induced cell proliferation. In conclusion, mycotoxins have direct dose-dependent effects on GC proliferation, steroidogenesis and gene expression. These direct ovarian effects could be one mechanism whereby contaminating Fusarium mycotoxins in feedstuffs could impact reproductive performance in swine.  相似文献

Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by many genera of fungi in many commodities, under certain conditions. Mycotoxicological control of feed is a procedure that aims to protect human and animal health, avoiding the adverse effects of these undesirable substances. This component of the sanitary control of feed and food is essential to prevent the presence of those substances which can seriously affect the health of the animals. In Portugal, there is relatively few information related to the natural occurrence of mycotoxins in feed. In this context, the authors present results and data compilation concerning the occurrence of mycotoxins in raw materials and also feed for dairy cattle, swine, poultry, horses, fish, laboratory rats and pet; making a generic qualitative appreciation of the risks associated to the presence of mycotoxins in these feedstuffs. The mycotoxins studied: aflatoxins (AFs), ochratoxin A (OTA), fumonisin B1 and B2 (FB1, FB2) were analysed by High Performance Liquid Chromatoghraphy (HPLC). Deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZEN) were determined by Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC). The results suggest that contaminations with these mycotoxins in feed are quite common, revealing the need for surveillance and monitoring programs for the prevention of the sanitary impacts of these “non desirable substances”.  相似文献

Fumonisin B1 (FB1), a potent and naturally occurring mycotoxin produced by the fungus Fusarium verticillioides, has been implicated in fatal and debilitating diseases in animals and humans. FB1 affects a variety of cell signaling proteins including protein kinase C (PKC); a serine/threonine kinase, involved in a number of signal transduction pathways that include cytokine induction, carcinogenesis and apoptosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the short-term temporal and concentration-dependent effects of FB1 on PKC isoforms present in LLC-PK1 cells in relation to the FB1-induced accumulation of sphinganine and sphingosine utilizing various inhibitors and activators. Our studies demonstrated that FB1 (0.1-1 μM) selectively and transiently activated PKCα at 5 min, without affecting PKC-δ, -ε and -ζ isoforms. At higher FB1 concentrations and later time points (15-120 min), PKCα membrane concentrations declined to untreated levels. The observed increase in cytosol PKCα protein expression at 15 min was not associated with an increase in its activity or protein biosynthesis. Calphostin C, a PKC inhibitor, abrogated the FB1-induced translocation of PKCα. Pre-incubation with the PKC activator, phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate, resulted in an additive effect on membrane translocation of PKCα. Intracellular sphinganine and sphingosine concentrations were unaltered at the time points tested. Myriocin, a specific inhibitor of serine palmitoyltransferase, the first enzyme in de novo sphingolipid biosynthesis, did not prevent the FB1-induced PKCα cytosol to membrane redistribution. Altering PKCα and its signal transduction pathways may be of importance in the ability of FB1 to exert its toxicity via apoptosis and/or carcinogenesis.  相似文献

Eighty-two samples of dried food commodities from Cameroon were screened and quantified for different mycotoxins, including fumonisin B1 (FB1), zearalenone (ZEA), deoxynivalenol (DON), aflatoxin (AF) and ochratoxin A (OTA), by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), respectively. The percentage of positive samples was as follows: FB1 41%, AF 51%, ZEA 57%, DON 65% and OTA 3%. High FB1 contents were found in maize, averaging 3,684 μg/kg (range: 37-24,225 μg/kg), whereas the highest average ZEA level was found in peanuts (70 μg/kg), followed by maize (69 μg/kg), rice (67 μg/kg) and beans (48 μg/kg) with no ZEA was detected in soybeans. DON contents were low, ranging from 13 to 273 μg/kg, and for AF the average content was 2.6 μg/kg with peanuts and maize as principal substrates. The incidence of OTA was low, with a mean level of 6.4 μg/kg recorded. The majority (79%) of samples contained more than one mycotoxin and the most frequent co-occurrence found was FB1 + ZEA + DON, detected in 21% of samples (mainly maize) analysed. Co-contamination with FB1 + ZEA + DON + AF was found in 11% of the samples. Although a large proportion of samples had fairly low levels of individual mycotoxins, this should be of concern as the co-occurrence of mycotoxins may generate additive or synergistic effect in humans, especially if the respective commodities are consumed almost on a daily basis.  相似文献

Fusarium species and fumonisin production by toxigenic strains were investigated. During 1996–1998, 158 samples of poultry feeds were collected from a factory located in the department of Río Cuarto Córdoba province, Argentina. The most common species of Fusarium were F. moniliforme (60.7%) and F. nygamai (35.4%) followed by F. semitectum, F. subglutinans, F. proliferatum, F. dlamini, F. solani, F. oxysporum and F. napiforme. Fungal counts ranged from 1 × 103 to 8 × 105 CFU/g with mean values from 1.5 × 103 to 2.3 × 105 CFU/g. The highest counts were for F. dlamini, F. subglutinans, F. moniliforme and F. nygamai. Strains of F. moniliforme, F. nygamai, and F. proliferatum were screened for their potential to produce fumonisin B1 (FB1), fumonisin B2 (FB2) and fumonisin B3 (FB3) in corn grain. The samples were analysed using a modified high performance liquid chromatography method. The strains assayed, 43 strains, produced three fumonisins. There was a high degree of variability in the quantities of FB1, FB2, and FB3 produced. The toxin produced in highest levels by the majority of the strains was FB1. The range of concentration varied from 5.4 to 3,991, 1.01 to 189 and 0.4 to 765 ppm per gram of corn for FB1, FB2 and FB3 respectively. The toxigenic pattern of strains was normal, although two strains of F. moniliforme produced exceptionally high concentrations of FB3 and minor concentrations of FB2 and FB1. Cell transformation assays using BALB/3T3 cells can mimic the two-stage process of chemical carcinogenesis in experimental animals. A short-term transformation assay using v-Ha-ras-transfected BALB/3T3 cells (Bhas 42 cells), which was developed by Ohmori et al. and modified by Asada et al., has been reported to detect both tumor initiators and promoters as transformation initiators and promoters, respectively, with their differences based on their protocols. In this new short-term assay, we examined mycotoxins derived from Fusarium and related substances for the initiation and promotion activities of the transformation. The tested substances included deoxynivalenol, nivalenol, fusarenon-X, T-2 toxin, fumonisin B1, fumonisin B2, zearalenone, α-zearalanol, β-zearalanol, α-zearalenol and β-zearalenol. Fumonisin B1 and T-2 toxin were positive for promoting activity in the assay. Especially, T-2 toxin was active at concentrations as low as 0.001–0.002 μg/mL in the culture medium. From a comparison between the results of this study and published carcinogenicity assay data, it was expected that the Bhas 42 cell transformation assay had a good correlation with the two-stage carcinogenicity tests using experimental animals for estimation of the tumor-promoting activity.  相似文献

Fumonisin B1 (FB1), a mycotoxin produced byFusarium moniliforme andF. proliferatum, induces liver damage and pulmonary edema in swine. We examined the temporal and dose-response features of FB1 toxicosis in male weanling crossbred pigs fed nutritionally balanced diets, containing corn screenings naturally contaminated with fumonisins, for 14 days. Total fumonisins (FB1 and FB2) in diets 1 through 6 were assayed at 175, 101, 39, 23, 5, and <1 ppm (below detectable concentrations), respectively. Clinical signs, serum biochemical alterations, and morphologic changes were evaluated. Pigs were weighed, and bled for hematologic and clinical chemistry evaluation on days 5 and 14. They were euthanized on day 14, or earlier if respiratory distress was observed. Respiratory distress developed in 3/5 pigs fed diet 1 between days 4 and 6 due to severe pulmonary edema and pleural effusion. Histologic evidence of hepatic injury was present in all pigs fed diets 1 and 2, 3/5 on diet 3, and 1/5 on diet 4. Serum bilirubin and cholesterol concentrations, gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and arginase (ARG) activities were elevated in pigs fed diets 1 and 2. Based on liver histopathology, the no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) for fumonisin toxicity in swine was <23 ppm total fumosins for the 14-day period. Based on regression analyses of the clinical chemistry profiles at 14 days, the NOAEL was <12 ppm, with ALP being the most sensitive parameter. Fumonisins are mycotoxins produced by Fusarium moniliforme, F. proliferatum, and related Fusarium species found on corn. They occur naturally in corn-based feeds and foods and are suspected human esophageal carcinogens. Fumonisin B1 (FB1), the most common homologue, causes the animal diseases associated with F. moniliforme. Hepato- and nephrotoxicities, disrupted sphingolipid metabolism, and liver cancer have been found in rats fed FB1. To determine the in vivo effects of diets containing fumonisins B2 (FB2) or B3 (FB3), male rats were fed culture materials (CM) of FB1 non-producing F. moniliforme isolates to provide low (4.6–6.7 ppm), mid (32–49 ppm) or high (219–295 ppm) dietary levels of either FB2 (FB2CM) or FB3 (FB3CM). Other groups were fed culture material of an FB1 producing isolate (FB1CM) providing 6.9, 53 or 303~ppm total fumonisins (FB1 : FB2 : FB3 = 1.0 : 0.38 : 0.15) and a tenth group was fed a control diet having no detectable fumonisins. One-half (n = 5/group) the animals were killed after three weeks, at which time the toxicological and histopathological effects of the three culture materials were similar, mimicked the effects of FB1, and included decreased body weight gains, serum chemical indicators of hepatotoxicity, decreased kidney weights, and apoptosis of hepatocytes and kidney tubular epithelium. FB1CM, FB2CM, and FB3CM affected sphingolipids, causing increased sphinganine to sphingosine ratios (Sa/So) in both liver and kidneys. The remaining animals (n = 5/group) were fed a control diet for three additional weeks. All body weight and tissue specific effects, including increased Sa/So, induced by the FB2CM, FB3CM and low level FB1CM diets were absent following the recovery period. Except for mild biliary lesions found in the high dose FB1CM group and a few apoptotic hepatocytes present in one mid- and two high-dose FB1CM rats, no evidence of toxicity remained in these groups following the recovery period.This revised version was published online in October 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Asparagus spears collected from a total of six commercial plantings in Austria during the main harvest periods in May and June of 2003 and 2004 were examined for endophytic colonization byFusarium spp., particularlyF. proliferatum. Potentially toxigenic fungi such asF. proliferatum were isolated and identified by morphological characteristics using light microscopy. Fumonisin B1 inF. proliferatum-infected asparagus spears was detected with IAS-HPLC-FLD or HPLC-MS/MS. The identity of endophytic fungi colonizing of a total of 816 individual spears was determined. The incidence of infection byF. proliferatum and otherFusarium spp. was highly dependent on location and sampling date. The dominantFusarium species among the endophytic microflora wasF. oxysporum. Other frequently isolated species includedF. proliferatum, F. sambucinum, F. culmorum, F. avenaceum andF. equiseti. The incidence ofF. proliferatum-infected asparagus spears was less than 10% at four of the six sampling locations. At the two remaining locations, 20–47% of the spears examined were infected withF. proliferatum. Further exploration of FB1 generation in asparagus is required because the low levels of FB1 (10–50 (μg/kg) detected in harvested spears in 2003 and 2004 cannot be explained by the results of this study.

Fumonisin B1 (FB1) is the most abundant of the fumonisin mycotoxins, mainly produced in maize by F. verticillioides and F. proliferatum. A total of 282 corn samples harvested in 2005 from six provinces, the main corn-producing areas of China, were analyzed for FB1 using high-performance liquid chromatography. All samples except one were (99.6%) positive for FB1 at levels varying from 3 to 71,121 ng/g with mean and median levels for all samples of 6,662 and 1,569 ng/g, respectively. During an analysis of the distribution pattern for FB1, it became apparent that 43.6% of tested samples had FB1 concentrations below 1,000 ng/g, while 25.2% contained in excess of 5,000 ng/g. The average exposure to FB1 (1.1 μg/kg body weight/day) is within the provisional maximum tolerable daily intake of 2 μg/kg body weight/day set by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives.  相似文献

Twenty-one rice samples from field (ten), store (six) and market (five) from the traditional rice-growing areas of Niger State, Nigeria were analysed for aflatoxins (AFs), ochratoxin A (OTA), zearalenone (ZEA), deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisin B1 (FB1) and B2 (FB2), and patulin (PAT) by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) respectively. T-2 toxin was determined using TLC only. AFs were detected in all samples, at total AF concentrations of 28–372 μg/kg. OTA was found in 66.7% of the samples, also at high concentrations (134–341 μg/kg) that have to be considered as critical levels in aspects of nephrotoxicity. ZEA (53.4%), DON (23.8), FB1 (14.3%) and FB2 (4.8%) were also found in rice, although at relatively low levels. T-2 toxin was qualitatively detected by TLC in only one sample. Co-contamination with AFs, OTA, and ZEA was very common, and up to five mycotoxins were detected in a single sample. The high AF and OTA levels as found in rice in this study are regarded as unsafe, and multi-occurrences of mycotoxins in the rice samples with possible additive or synergistic toxic effects in consumers raise concern with respect to public health.  相似文献

Twenty samples of unpolished (rough) rice collected in Arkansas and Texas during the 1995 harvesting season from fields exhibiting Fusarium sheath rot disease or panicle blight were previously shown to include 8 samples positive for fumonisin B1(FB1) in the range 2.2–5.2 ppm, and moniliformin (MON), but no beauvericin (BEA), deoxynivalenol, its derivatives or zearalenone were detected. Fifteen cultures of F. proliferatum were established from the 20 rough rice samples. Single spore isolates of each culture were grown on rice and tested for the production of fumonisins (FB1, FB2, FB3, etc.), MON and BEA. All 15 isolates produced FB1, FB2, MON and BEA in culture on rice. No deoxynivalenol, its derivatives orzearalenone were detected. Seven cultures produced FB1 at >50ppm (range 80–230 ppm), with therest producing FB1 in the range 14–43 ppm.FB2 was produced in the range 5–47 ppm, and those cultures which produced the most FB1 also produced the most FB2. Of the 15 cultures producing MON, 11 produced it at >100 ppm in the range 188–6018 ppm, with the rest producing in the range 7–64 ppm. BEA was produced in the range 109–1350 ppm. Other derivatives of fumonisins, including FA1, FA2 and partially hydrolyzed FB1, as well asseveral unknown metabolites including a compound with MW 414, were identified in culture extracts by continuous flow fast atom bombardment with ion spraymass spectrometry (CF/FAB/MS). Further study is needed to identify the factors that control production of FB1, MON and BEA by F.proliferatu in culture and in field samples. DNA Damage in Astrocytes Exposed to Fumonisin B1   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Fumonisins are a group of toxic metabolites mainly produced by Fusarium moniliforme and Fusarium proliferatum, fungi that commonly occur on corn throughout the world. Fumonisin B1 (FB1), structurally resembling sphingoid bases, is an inhibitor of ceramide synthase, a key enzyme involved in de novo sphingolipid biosynthesis and in the reacylation of free sphingoid bases derived from sphingolipid turnover. This inhibitory effect leads to accumulation of free sphinganine (SA) and sphingosine (SO), inducing cell death. However, little is known on the down stream effectors activated by these sphingolipids in the cell death signaling pathway. We exposed rat astrocytes to FB1 with the aim of evaluating the involvement of oxygen free radicals and of some other biochemical pathways such as caspase-3 activity and DNA damage. Our results indicate that FB1 treatment (48, 72 h and 6 days in vitro, DIV, and 10, 50, 100 M) does not affect cell viability. Conversely, after 72 h of treatment, FB1 (50 and 100 M) induced DNA damage and an enhancement of caspase-3 activity compared to controls. In addition, FB1 increased the expression of HSP70 at 10 and 50 M at 48, 72 h, and 6 DIV of treatment. We conclude that DNA damage of apoptotic type in rat astrocytes is caused by FB1 and that the genotoxic potential of FB1 has probably been underestimated and should be reconsidered.  相似文献
