利用来源于湖北长阳、陕西太白、河南新野3个地方的根肿病菌对22份不同甘蓝材料进行抗病性鉴定。采用同源比对的方法,对甘蓝基因组中的大白菜抗根肿病同源基因CRa和Crr1a进行分析;同时对不同抗、感根肿病甘蓝材料中的CRa和Crr1a同源基因序列进行了扩增、测序和比对分析。结果表明:供试22份甘蓝材料对3份根肿病菌存在较大的抗感差异,推测来源于3个地区的菌种可能不是同一个生理小种;筛选出的抗性品种BDH3、Chou hybride Tekila、SW-110、CGL-8、先正达品种、SW-109将来可用作根肿病抗源和抗性基因挖掘;在甘蓝7号染色体上存在3个预测基因为CRa的同源基因,分别是Bo7g107710、Bo7g107730和Bo7g107740,其中,Bo7g107730基因在抗病材料SW-110存在较大的序列变异,推测可能与根肿病抗性相关;在甘蓝3号染色体上存在1个预测基因Bo3g164040为Crr1a的同源基因,所分析的抗、感病材料中Bo3g164040基因序列一致性极高,没有发现与抗根肿病有关的位点,说明甘蓝中Bo3g164040基因可能没有根肿病抗性功能。  相似文献

Twenty-one cabbage (Brassica oleracea capitata group) varieties, including 16 local varieties and five commercial hybrids, were screened for resistance to the moth Mamestra brassicae L. under natural and artificial conditions in northwestern Spain. Resistance was assessed as the proportion of damaged plants and damaged leaves, leaf feeding injury, and number of larvae present. Correlation coefficients among damage traits showed that a visual scale (general appearance rating) should be a useful indicator of resistance. Most local varieties were highly susceptible to M. brassicae, whereas the commercial hybrids tested were resistant in terms of head foliage consumption and number of larvae per plant. Performance of varieties was similar under natural and artificial infestation although some of them performed differently at each year. Three local varieties (MBG-BRS0057, MBG-BRS0074, and MBG-BRS0452) were highly susceptible at both natural and artificial infestation conditions being MBG-BRS0074 the most damaged variety. Two local varieties (MBG-BRS0402 and MBG-BRS0535) and commercial hybrids were identified as resistant or moderately resistant to M. brassicae. Among them, 'Corazón de Buey' and 'Cabeza negra' were the most resistant and produced compact heads. These varieties could be useful sources of resistance to obtain resistant varieties to M. brassicae or as donors of resistance to other Brassica crops. The possible role of leaf traits, head compactness, and leaf glucosinolate content in relation to M. brassicae resistance is discussed.  相似文献

1994—2002年经对3822份小麦品种(系)材料抗条锈性鉴定结果表明,冬小麦抗条锈性优于春小麦,甘肃品种抗条锈性优于国内其它省区品种。田间抗条锈性监测结果表明,我国主要生产品种均表现感病,甘肃主要生产品种仅陇鉴127等少数几个品种抗病,抗源材料中也仅有中四等少数品种表现抗病,结合抗病性鉴定、监测结果及田间综合农艺性状观察,筛选出20余份可供育种利用的抗源材料。同时在针对今后抗条中31、32号等主要小种类型的抗病育种、抗病性监测等方面进行了讨论。  相似文献

An introduction of disease-resistant variety of a crop plant often leads to the development of a virulent race in pathogen species that restores the pathogenicity to the resistant crop. This often makes disease control of crop plants extremely difficult. In this paper, we theoretically explore the optimal 'multiline' control, which makes use of several different resistant varieties, that minimizes the expected degree of crop damages caused by epidemic outbreaks of the pathogen. We examine both single-locus and two-locus gene-for-gene (GFG) systems for the compatibility relationship between host genotypes and pathogen genotypes, in which host haplotype has either susceptible or resistant allele in each resistance locus, and the pathogen haplotype has either avirulent or virulent allele in the corresponding virulence locus. We then study the optimal planting strategy of host resistant genotypes based on standard epidemiological dynamics with pathogen spore stages. The most striking result of our single-locus GFG model is that there exists an intermediate optimum mixing ratio for the susceptible and resistant crops that maximizes the final yield, in spite of the fact that the susceptible crop has no use to fight against either avirulent or virulent race of the pathogen. The intermediate mixture is optimum except when the initial pathogen spore population in the season consists exclusively of the virulent race. The optimal proportion of resistant crops is approximately 1/R(0), where R(0) is the basic reproductive ratio of pathogen--the rest (the vast majority if R(0) is large) of crops should be the susceptible genotype. By mixing susceptible and resistant crops, we can force the pathogen races to compete with each other for their available hosts. This competition between avirulent and virulent races prevents the fatal outbreak of the virulent race (the super-race) that can infect all the host genotypes. In the two-locus GFG control, there again exists the optimal mixing ratio for the fraction of universally susceptible genotype and the total fraction of various resistant genotypes, with the ratio close to 1/R(0).  相似文献

A detailed study was made of the morphological characters of the seedlings of some cultivated forms of Brassica , namely, white-fleshed and yellow-fleshed swede turnips, winter swede and summer swede rapes, white-fleshed and yellow-fleshed common turnips, and winter and summer turnip rapes.
It is shown that there are no constant points of difference between the seedlings of swede turnips and swede rapes, nor between the seedlings of the bulb-forming turnips and their corresponding leafy turnip rapes.

Laboratory bioassays and field trials were used to characterize resistance to three aphid species (Myzus persicae (Sulzer), Acyrthosiphon kondoi Shinji, Aphis craccivora (Koch) in two aphid-resistant varieties (Kalya, Tanjil) and one susceptible variety (Tallerack) of Lupinus angustifolius L., and in one resistant variety (Teo) and one susceptible variety (Wodjil) of L. luteus L. Host selection tests in the glasshouse showed that alates of all three species preferred L. luteus to L. angustifolius, but provided no evidence that alates selected susceptible varieties over resistant. These results were supported by a field trial, which showed no difference in the number of colonizing A. kondoi alates collected from the resistant and susceptible lines of each lupin species, but there were significantly more late-instar nymphs and apterous adults on the susceptible lines. In laboratory host suitability experiments, there was much greater suppression of aphid growth and survival on Teo than on Kalya and Tanjil. In field trials, the numbers of aphids were generally lower on resistant compared to susceptible lines of both lupin species with one notable exception: M. persicae numbers were not lower on the resistant variety Tanjil compared to the susceptible variety Tallerack (L. angustifolius). These results suggest that the resistance mechanisms in both lupin species do not affect the selection of hosts by colonizing aphids, but rather are affecting the growth, survival and possibly reproduction of aphids after settling.  相似文献

During 1945-8, 223 British collections of yellow rust were determined on Gassner & Straib's differential hosts, with the addition of the wheat variety Wilma. Physiologic races 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 17 were obtained from wheat, race 46 from barley, race 33 from Hordeum murinum and race 28 from Agropyron repens. Three new races, 6x from wheat, M from H. marinum and G from Dactylis glomerata were also isolated. High temperatures increase the susceptibility of some differential hosts to certain wheat races, but decrease that of others. Biotypes of races 2, 6 and 8, differing from the 'type' cultures of those races, were isolated.
Of the commoner wheat races, nos. 6 and 8, occurring on many wheats, were widespread, but races 5 and 7, on fewer varieties, were confined to the north of Britain, and races 2 and 3, on very few varieties, to the south. Certain grasses are partially susceptible to some of the cereal races. The uredospores of race 2 germinate less well than those of races 5 or 8, other wheat races being intermediate. The optimum temperature for spore germination of race G is 22-5 C, that of all other races 10–13oC.
Twelve wheat varieties were inoculated in the field with each of the eight wheat races, and some varieties developed field resistance to certain races. The races attacking a variety the most severely in the field inoculations were usually the races isolated from that variety in collections received.  相似文献

The relative resistance and susceptibility of various cruciferous plants to swede midge, Contarinia nasturtii (Kieffer) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), damage was investigated to provide growers with planting recommendations and to identify potential sources of resistance to the swede midge. Broccoli cultivars experienced more severe damage than cabbage, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. The broccoli 'Paragon', 'Eureka', and 'Packman' are highly susceptible to the swede midge, whereas 'Triathlon' and 'Regal' showed reduced susceptibility to damage and slower development of damage symptoms. No differences were found between normal and red cultivars of cabbage and cauliflower in damage severity and progression of damage symptoms. Four new plant species (Brassica juncea Integlifolia group, Erucastrum gallicum (Willd.) O. E. Shulz., Lepidium campestre (L.) R.Br., and Capsella bursa-pastoris (L.) Medic.) are reported as hosts of the swede midge. The weed species Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb, Camelina microcarpa Andrz. ex Dc., and Erysimum cheiranthoides L. exhibited no damage symptoms, and they seem to be nonhost crucifers for the swede midge.  相似文献

A brief historical summary is given of the literature concerning Contarinia nasturtii Kieffer, C. torquens de Meijere and C. geisenheyneri Riibsaamen, three gall midges (Cecidomyidae) which have been associated respectively with leaf damage on Brassica spp. in England, identical malformation on the Continent and swollen and closed flowers of Brassica spp. in Europe.
Following the discovery in England of the true Contarinia nasturtii causing swollen and closed flowers oiRorippa amphibia, preliminary experiments have shown that midges from this source will also cause similar damage to swede flowers and that they are the same species as those attacking R. amphibia blossom in the Netherlands.
Further preliminary experiments have shown that swede midge derived from rape leaf axils will also cause identical damage to radish flowers in addition to breeding successfully on the leaves of turnip, swede, cabbage and radish.
Male midges derived from Rorippa blossom have been mated with females from rape leaf axils, and their offspring have been reared on Rorippa flowers and on turnip leaves.
This biological evidence confirms the previous supposition based on morphological grounds that the swede midge is Contarinia nasturtii Kieffer and will cause either flower or leaf damage. Consequently, C. torquens de Meijere and C. geisenheyneri Riibsaamen must remain synonyms.
The shortest time for a generation (from parent to first offspring midge) to develop was 24–39 days in an unheated open glasshouse during June-July in 1949 at Harpenden. Under the same conditions, the shortest time for the next generation from late July to August was 29–32 days. C. nasturtii is the first Contarinia species in which unisexual families have been discovered.  相似文献

Greenbugs, Schizaphis graminum (Rondani), were reared on intact and excised leaves of varieties of sorghum which differed in their suitability as hosts for this aphid. Aphids grew poorly on intact leaves of three resistant varieties, but grew well on excised leaves of the same varieties. Leaf excision did not affect aphid growth on three susceptible varieties. By electronically monitoring the feeding behaviour of aphids on two resistant and one susceptible variety, significant differences were found in many parameters between aphids assayed on excised vs. intact leaves of only the resistant varieties. Aphids on excised leaves of the resistant varieties, and on excised or intact leaves of the susceptible variety, made fewer probes to the phloem, spending more time ingesting from phloem during each probe, compared to aphids on intact resistant plants. There was a higher level of free amino acids in excised leaves of all varieties, but aphid growth and feeding behaviour improved as a result of excision only on resistant varieties. This observation, coupled with the fact that intact plants of all varieties have similar amino acid levels, indicates that these nutrients are not of primary importance in sorghum suitability to the greenbug. Other explanations for the aphids' responses to excised leaves are discussed.  相似文献

Isolation by time occurs when different populations of a single species reproduce at different times and thereby reduce the probability of interbreeding, potentially causing divergent adaptation to timing of reproduction, eventually resulting in ecological species separated by timing of reproduction. We analysed extensive data on timing of reproduction by different host races of the common cuckoo Cuculus canorus that is an obligate brood parasite laying eggs in the nests of many different species of passerine birds. Because different hosts breed at different times, specific host races of cuckoos have adapted to specific hosts by laying eggs when nests of these hosts are available, and such divergence may be further exaggerated by differences in timing of breeding among host races with similar habitat requirements. Host species accounted for a quarter of the variance in timing of breeding by the cuckoo. Common cuckoos reproduced at a similar, but narrower subset of dates as did possible hosts, showing that only a fraction of hosts with specific breeding dates were parasitized. Common cuckoo eggs laid in the 'right' kind of nests, phenotypically matching the eggs of the host, were laid later during the season than cuckoo eggs laid in the 'wrong' kind of nests where the eggs did not mimic those of the host. Pairs of sympatric cuckoo host races differed more in timing of breeding than pairs of allopatric host races, and pairs of cuckoo host races with similar breeding habitat differed more in breeding date than pairs of cuckoo host races with dissimilar habitat, as expected from reproductive character displacement. These findings are consistent with cuckoo host races being isolated by timing of breeding and habitat.  相似文献

Insect pathogens, such as baculoviruses, that are used as microbial insecticides have been genetically modified to increase their speed of action. Nontarget species will often be exposed to these pathogens, and it is important to know the consequences of infection in hosts across the whole spectrum of susceptibility. Two key parameters, speed of kill and pathogen yield, are compared here for two baculoviruses, a wild-type Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcNPV), AcNPV clone C6, and a genetically modified AcNPV which expresses an insect-selective toxin, AcNPV-ST3, for two lepidopteran hosts which differ in susceptibility. The pathogenicity of the two viruses was equal in the less-susceptible host, Mamestra brassicae, but the recombinant was more pathogenic than the wild-type virus in the susceptible species, Trichoplusia ni. Both viruses took longer to kill the larvae of M. brassicae than to kill those of T. ni. However, whereas the larvae of T. ni were killed more quickly by the recombinant virus, the reverse was found to be true for the larvae of M. brassicae. Both viruses produced a greater yield in M. brassicae, and the yield of the recombinant was significantly lower than that of the wild type in both species. The virus yield increased linearly with the time taken for the insects to die. However, despite the more rapid speed of kill of the wild-type AcNPV in M. brassicae, the yield was significantly lower for the recombinant virus at any given time to death. A lower yield for the recombinant virus could be the result of a reduction in replication rate. This was investigated by comparing determinations of the virus yield per unit of weight of insect cadaver. The response of the two species (to both viruses) was very different: the yield per unit of weight decreased over time for M. brassicae but increased for T. ni. The implications of these data for risk assessment of wild-type and genetically modified baculoviruses are discussed.  相似文献

采用苗期分小种和成株期混合优势小种法测定了黄淮麦区227份小麦品种和种质材料对小麦条锈菌的抗病性,结果表明,被测品种在苗期对4个条锈菌生理小种的抗病性有很大的差异,抗条中27、30、31、29号小种的品种分别占被测品种总数的93.00%、72.69%、64.76%和61.67%。成株期用6个菌株混合接种测定选出抗病品种76个,占33.48%,其中免疫的为40个,占17.62%。通过对227份小麦品种资源材料的苗期分小种鉴定及与成株期混合优势小种鉴定结果比较,筛选出了成株期和苗期均抗病的品种48个,占被测品种总数的21.14%;成株期抗病苗期感病的品种30个,占被测品种总数的13.22%。  相似文献

The effect of aphid resistance in plant cultivars on parasitism of Myzus persicae (Sulzer) and Brevicoryne brassicae (Linnaeus) by Aphidius colemani Viereck was investigated under laboratory conditions using three cultivars of common cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. capitata. Significantly greater aphid populations were found on cv. Derby Day (green-leaved, susceptible to both aphid species), regardless of the presence or absence of parasitoids, compared with cv. Minicole (green-leaved, partially resistant with antibiosis factors for B. brassicae) or cv. Ruby Ball (red-leaved, partially resistant with antixenosis factors for B. brassicae). Minicole had the greatest proportion of parasitized aphids and Derby Day the least. A significantly lower percentage of emerged parasitoids were recorded on Minicole for both aphid species compared with Derby Day and Ruby Ball. The implication of the results are discussed in relation to the integrated control of aphids.  相似文献

Summary Changes in resistance to scald disease which occurred in barley composite Cross II over 45 generations were analyzed genetically. This population, which was synthesized in 1929 by pooling equal numbers of f1 seeds from 378 pair wise crosses among 28 barley varieties, has subsequently been grown at Davis, California under standard agricultural conditions without conscious selection. Progenies derived from self-pollinated seeds from random plants taken from four generations (F8, F13, F23, and F45) were tested against four different races of scald (40, 61, 72, and 74), and rated as resistant, susceptible or segregating. Striking increases in the frequency of families resistant to races 40, 61, and 74 occurred in CC II. A test for randomness showed that quadruply susceptible and triply resistant families were more common than expected under the assumption that resistance to different races is independent. Positive correlations were found between resistance to races 40, 61, and 74, but resistance to race 72 was independent of resistance to all other races. Possible reasons for these correlations are discussed.  相似文献

In Iranian rice fields, different varieties of rice are cultivated which are differentially impacted by females of the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis. To elucidate the role odours may play in their host plant finding behaviour, female Ch. suppressalis were exposed to four varieties of rice plants and their volatiles in a four‐arm olfactometer. In whole plant tests, Ch. suppressalis were significantly attracted to the variety previously characterized as most susceptible, least attracted to one characterized as semisusceptible, and showed no attraction to those varieties characterized as semi‐ and highly resistant. Tests using headspace volatile extracts yielded similar results in the case of the most susceptible variety, but showed no attraction to the semisusceptible and highly resistant varieties, and low attraction to the semiresistant variety. Subsequent analysis of the volatile composition identified a panel of 27 components, some of which were either unique to, or abundantly present in, particular varieties, and may explain the observed variation in their attractiveness. Our findings show that rice plant volatiles can play a role in the host selection behaviour of this pest species, and we suggest compounds which may be important to this process and the future application of volatiles in rice pest management programs.  相似文献

The giant willow aphid Tuberolachnus salignus Gmelin is a large phloem-feeding insect which colonizes the stems of willow trees. This aphid is a new invasive species in New Zealand and there is limited knowledge of its inter-annual population patterns and the damage it can cause to willow hosts. Our study investigated the T. salignus population dynamics and its effects on the flowering parameters of fifteen willow species and hybrids in a field trial. The aphid population levels were found to vary among the willow species and hybrids. Based on the aphid population levels, the willow species and hybrids were classified as resistant, moderately resistant, susceptible or highly susceptible. T. salignus infestation had no effect on the flowering of resistant and moderately resistant willows, but significantly delayed the flowering time, extended the flowering duration, and decreased the catkin length in susceptible species and hybrids. Interestingly, aphid infestation was found to increase the catkin number and total floral output of some willow species and hybrids. It can be concluded that aphid populations and their effects on flowering are host-specific, with large differences between resistant and susceptible host plants.  相似文献

Sunflower rust, caused by Puccinia helianthi Schw., is a widespread disease of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) in China. To study physiological races, sunflower field surveys were undertaken in major sunflower growing areas of China in 2010. Forty‐four rust‐infected sunflower leaf samples were collected from 25 geographical locations. Freshly produced spores were used to study physiological race differentiation on a set of nine differentials. Race 300 was the most prevalent race observed over all locations with a 59% frequency followed by races 735, 310, 500, 724 and 737. To evaluate hybrids and varieties for resistance screening, spores of race 300 were used to inoculate 65 hybrids, and five open‐pollinated varieties selected from breeding programmes and from the seed market. None of the confection hybrids and open‐pollinated varieties was immune to race 300. Conversely, among oilseed hybrids, 3% of them showed immunity, 12% highly resistant, 59% resistant and 26% showed susceptible reactions. Open‐pollinated varieties were the most susceptible to race 300 followed by confection and oilseed sunflower hybrids. Results from this study are projected to assist breeders in selection of hybrids and varieties against prevalent race as our results showed a diversity of resistance levels to race 300.  相似文献

The study focused on the dynamics of Malondialdehyde (MDA) contents and the activities of protective enzymes in the leaves of alfalfa varieties with various resistances to Aphis medicaginis Koch. The results showed that susceptible varieties always had higher MDA contents than resistant varieties, and the MDA contents tended to rise in both susceptible and resistant varieties in period of the varieties were pierced and sucked by aphids. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) activities in susceptible varieties were lower than those in resistant varieties, and in both susceptible and resistant varieties the SOD and POD activities tended to rise at first and then decline, and the PAL activities rose to their peaks and then tended to remain stable. In the susceptible and resistant varieties the catalase (CAT) activities appeared to rise and decline alternatively; the PPO activities in resistant varieties were lower than those in susceptible varieties in early growth, but higher than those in susceptible varieties in later growth. It follows that infested by aphids, susceptible and resistant varieties had the MDA contents, variations of SOD, POD, PAL and PPO activities were closely correlated with their aphid resistances, hence these indexes could be used as physiological indexes for testing aphid resistance of alfalfa, whereas the relations of their CAT activities to their resistances needed to be further studied.  相似文献
