The influence of roxithromycin (RXM) on the expression of co-stimulatory molecules, CD40, CD80 and CD86, was examined in vivo. When BALB/c mice were immunized intraperitoneally with two doses of dinitrophenylated ovalbumin (DNP-OVA) at 1 week intervals, intraperitoneal administration of RXM at 250 microg/kg once a day for 14 days strongly suppressed IgE contents in sera obtained from mice 22 days after the first immunization. In addition, RXM treatment of mice suppressed endogenous IL-4 contents in aqueous spleen extracts, which were enhanced by DNP-OVA immunization. We next examined the influence of RXM on co-stimulatory molecule expression on splenic lymphocytes. RXM treatment of the immunized mice caused suppression of CD40 expression, but this treatment did not affect CD80 and CD86 expression.  相似文献

This study was designed to examine the influence of a macrolide antibiotic, roxithromycin (RXM), on the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, interleukin (IL)-1beta and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha. In the first experiments, we examined the effect of RXM on in vitro cytokine production from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated human peripheral blood monocytes. The monocytes were cultured in the presence of various doses of the agent. After 24 h, the culture supernatants were obtained and assayed for IL-1beta and TNF-alpha contents by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RXM suppressed the in vitro production of IL-1beta and TNF-alpha in response to LPS stimulation. This was dose dependent and first noted at a concentration of as little as 0.05 microg/ml, which is much lower than therapeutic blood levels. In the second part of the experiments, we examined the influence of RXM on the appearance of IL-1beta and TNF-alpha in mouse lung extract induced by LPS inhalation. RXM was administered orally into BALB/c mice at a single dose of 2.5 mg/kg once a day for 5-12 weeks. These mice were then instilled with LPS into the trachea and examined for the presence of cytokines in aqueous lung extracts. Pretreatment of mice with RXM for 5 weeks did not influence of the appearance of both IL-1beta and TNF-alpha in aqueous lung extracts. However, pretreatment for more than 7 weeks dramatically suppressed the cytokine appearance in the extracts.  相似文献

The influence of roxithromycin (RXM), a macrolide antibiotic, on endogenous corticosterone (CS) levels was examined in BALB/c mice. Mice were sensitized intraperitoneally with two doses of Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin at 1 week intervals. Mice were given orally 2.5 mg/kg RXM once a day for 14 days starting 7 days after the first sensitization. RXM administration caused markedly increase in endogenous plasma CS levels which was peaked at 60 min after the administration. However, josamycin did not influence on endogenous CS levels in plasma. Injection of dexamethasone inhibits the plasma CS hyperproduction induced by RXM treatment.  相似文献

Periodontal disease, for which smoking is a known risk factor, is infectious, and is associated with oral biofilm. Cytokines mediate and regulate immune and inflammatory responses. Lipopolysaccharide produced by periodontopathic bacteria plays a role in the progression of periodontitis. The effect of nicotine on cytokine production in mice was evaluated in this study. Nicotine (10 or 200 microg mouse(-1)) was administered intraperitoneally to 4-week-old female BALB/c mice, once a day, for 49 days. Control mice received injections of phosphate-buffered saline. Blood was collected from all mice and serum IL-6, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha and IFN-gamma levels were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay on the 42nd day. IL-6, IL-10 and IFN-gamma levels in the nicotine-treated mice were higher than those in the control mice. However, no differences were found in TNF-alpha levels between nicotine-treated and control mice. Lipopolysaccharide (20 microg mouse(-1)) purified from Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (formerly Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans) Y4 was administered intraperitoneally on the 49th day. A rapid increase in TNF-alpha was observed in the control mice at 2 h after administration of lipopolysaccharide. In contrast, no increase was noted in the nicotine-treated groups. Significantly higher levels of IFN-gamma were seen in the 200 microg nicotine-treated mice at 2 h after administration of lipopolysaccharide (P<0.05). The results showed that cytokine levels were influenced by nicotine in mice.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The influence of a macrolide antibiotic, roxithromycin (RXM), on co-stimulatory molecule expression was examined in vitro and in vivo. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Spleen cells obtained from BALB/c mice 10 days after immunization with 8.0 microg of hemocyanin absorbed to 4.0 mg of aluminum hydroxide were cultured in the presence of 100.0 microg/ml of hemocyanin and various concentrations of RXM. We first examined the influence of RXM on cell activation by examining the proliferative response of cells and cytokine production. We also examined the influence of RXM on co-stimulatory molecule (CD40, CD80 and CD86) expressions on cultured splenic B-lymphocytes induced by in vitro antigenic stimulation using flow cytometry. In the second part of experiments, non-immunized and immunized mice were treated orally with 2.5 mg/kg of RXM once a day for 4 or 8 weeks. Splenic B lymphocytes were obtained from these mice 24 h after antigenic challenge, and co-stimulatory molecule expressions were examined by flow cytometer. RESULTS: Cell activation induced by in vitro antigenic stimulation was suppressed by RXM when cells were cultured in the presence of more than 5.0 microg/ml of the agent. Addition of RXM at a concentration of 5.0 microg/ml into cell cultures also suppressed co-stimulatory molecule (CD40, CD80 and CD86) expressions on splenic B lymphocytes, which was enhanced by antigenic stimulation in vitro. Oral RXM administration for 4 weeks clearly suppressed the enhancement of CD40 and CD86 (but not CD80) expressions on splenic B lymphocytes induced by antigenic stimulation in vivo. This suppressive activity of RXM on co-stimulatory molecule (CD40 and CD86) expressions was further strengthened by the treatment of mice for 8 weeks. Long-term treatment with oral RXM also suppressed CD80 expressions, which was not suppressed by 4-week treatment. CONCLUSION: The present results suggest that RXM exerts its immunomodulating effects through suppression of both cell activation and co-stimulatory molecule expressions induced by antigenic stimulation. These suppressive activities of RXM might contribute, in part, to the therapeutic mode of action of RXM on inflammatory diseases.  相似文献

Altered interleukin production during Friend leukemia virus infection   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Spleen cells from BALB/c mice, infected 14 to 28 days earlier with Friend leukemia virus (FLV), were shown to be inhibited in their ability to produce interleukin 2 (IL-2) when stimulated with mitogen. Likewise, these spleen cell populations failed to respond following mitogenic stimulation or exogenous addition of recombinant IL-2. By contrast, the FLV-infected spleen cell populations produced normal levels of interleukin 1 (IL-1) and thymocytes from FLV-infected mice responded normally to addition of exogenous IL-1. This suggests that FLV infection selectively affects the ability of spleen cells to produce cytokines. Spleen cell populations enriched for T lymphocytes and depleted of tumor cells by density gradient centrifugation in Ficoll were unable to produce IL-2. This indicates that the failure to detect IL-2 in cells from FLV-infected mice was not due to a dilution of T lymphocytes by tumor cells but was a functional inability to produce IL-2. Furthermore, enriched T lymphocytes from FLV-infected mice failed to respond blastogenically to exogenous IL-2. Additional studies indicate that tumor cells, but not macrophages or T lymphocytes from FLV-infected spleens, suppressed the blastogenic response to mitogens and IL-2 production by normal splenic T lymphocytes.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of red pepper (Capsicum annuum Lin.) extracts (capsicum extract) and its main pungent capsaicin on T helper 1 (Th1) and 2 (Th2) cytokine production in cultured murine Peyer's patch (PP) cells in vitro and ex vivo. Direct administration of capsicum extract (1 and 10 mug/ml) and capsaicin (3 and 30 muM) resulted in suppression of interleukin (IL)-2, interferon (IFN)-gamma, IL-4 and IL-5 production. In an ex vivo experiment using PP cells removed from the mice after oral administration of capsicum extract (10 mg/kg/day for 4 consecutive days), IL-2, IFN-gamma and IL-5 increased in response to concanavalin A (Con A). Oral administration of 3 mg/kg/day capsaicin, one active constituent of the extract, also enhanced IL-2, INF-gamma and IL-4 production in response to Con A stimulation but did not influence the production of IL-5. Orally administered capsazepine (3 mg/kg/day), a selective transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) antagonist, slightly enhanced IL-2 production also irrespective of Con A stimulation. The capsaicin-induced enhancement of both IL-2 and IFN-gamma production was not reduced by oral administration of capsazepine (3 mg/kg/day), suggesting a TRPV1 receptor-independent mechanism. Flow cytometric analysis revealed that the population of CD3(+) cells in the PP cells was significantly reduced while CD19(+) cells increased after oral administration of capsicum extract (1 and 10 mg/kg/day) and capsaicin (0.3 and 3 mg/kg/day). Capsazepine (3 mg/kg/day) weakly but significantly reversed these effects. Orally administered capsicum extract and capsaicin did not change the T cell subset (CD4(+) and CD8(+)), Th1 (IFN-gamma(+)) and T2 (IL-4(+)) ratio. These findings indicate that capsicum extract and capsaicin modulate T cell-immune responses, and their immunomodulatory effects on murine PP cells are partly due to both TRPV1-dependent and -independent pathway.  相似文献

This study investigated whether heat-killed Lactobacillus protects host animal against influenza virus infection and stimulates their immunity. Heat-killed Lactobacillus gasseri TMC0356 was orally administered to BALB/c mice for 19 days; the mice were intranasally infected with Flu A/PR/8/34 (H1N1) on day 14, and clinical symptoms were monitored. After 6 days, the mice were sacrificed, and pulmonary virus titres were determined. Splenic activation of natural killer (NK) cells and the mRNA expression of cytokines and other immune molecules in the lung and Peyer's patch (PP) were analysed. Clinical symptom scores of mice orally fed TMC0356 ameliorated significantly (P < 0.01); their pulmonary virus titres decreased significantly compared with those of control mice (P < 0.05); their mRNA expression of interleukin (IL)-12, IL-15 and IL-21 in PP and the pulmonary mRNA expression of IFN-γ, TNF, IL-12a, IL-12rbl, IL-2rb and perforin 1 increased significantly (P < 0.05). Oral administration of heat-killed lactobacilli may protect against influenza virus infection by stimulating local and systemic immune responses. Cellular components of lactobacilli may be pivotal in protecting against viral infection by enhancing gut and respiratory immune responses.  相似文献

Summary In-vitro-generated lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells of BALB/c mice, bearing the syngeneic colon carcinoma C-26 for 7 days, were as efficient as those from normal mice in lysing C-26 cells whereas LAK cells from 14-day tumor-bearing and 5- and 14-day tumor-resected animals had a lower C-26 cytotoxicity. The level of C-26 lysis returned to normal values 30 days after surgery. To identify the best source of LAK cells in vivo, groups of normal mice were treated with 104, 3×104 or 105 U/day of interleukin 2 (IL-2) for 7 days intraperitoneally (i. p.) or intravenously (i. v.) (3×104 dose only). The highest lysis on C-26 was obtained from peritoneal exudate cells of mice given 3×104 and 105 U whereas spleen cells were lytic only when taken from mice treated with 105 U IL-2. Peripheral blood lymphocytes lacked any cytotoxicity except for the group of mice which received IL-2 i. v. The kinetics of in vivo LAK activation in different organs showed a peak of anti-(C-26) lytic activity at day 5 in peritoneal exudate cells and spleen cells of mice given IL-2 for 5 days whereas administration of LAK cells alone had no effect; IL-2 plus LAK cells gave a lower peak of LAK activity as compared with IL-2 alone. A lower level of in vivo LAK activation was found in mice whose tumor was resected 5 days before; such impairment was evident even 14 days after surgery. Homing experiments were carried out with i. v. injected 51Cr-labelled LAK cells in normal or tumor-resected mice. In normal mice the highest radioactivity at 30 min was found in the lungs; liver and spleen also showed high radioactivity whereas blood had a negligible amount of radioactivity. Radioactivity declined rapidly in lungs (less than 10% after 24 h) while remaining at appreciable levels in the liver after 24 h and 48 h; spleen showed constant levels of 12%–15%. Homing of LAK cells was altered in mice receiving IL-2 i. p. for 5 days with slower and lower radioactivity peaks in the lung and higher levels in liver. In tumor-excised mice lower levels of radioactivity were found in lungs. These results show that: (a) alterations in LAK activity occur in early-tumor-resected and large-tumor-bearing animals; (b) the route of IL-2 administration is critical in LAK activation in vivo; (c) treatment with IL-2 modifies LAK homing. This study was in part supported by grant no. 87.01565.44 of the Finalized Project Oncology of CNR (Rome, Italy)  相似文献

Introduction

The purpose of this study was to determine if oral administration of the interleukin (IL) 12/IL-23 inhibitor, STA-5326, is effective in experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis (EAU).

Methods

C57BL/6J mice were immunised with human interphotoreceptor retinoid binding protein peptide (IRBP1–20). STA-5326 at a dose of either 5 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg, or vehicle alone, was orally administered once a day for six days a week from day 0 to day 14. Fundus examination was performed on day 14 and day 18 after immunisation. Mice were euthanased on day 18 and the eyes were enucleated for histopathological examination. In vivo-primed draining lymph node cells were stimulated with IRBP1–20 and culture supernatant was harvested for assay of interferon (IFN)-γ and IL-17 by ELISA. Intracellular expression of IFN-γ and IL-17 in CD4+ T cells of cultured draining lymph node cells was assessed by flow cytometry. The level of IL-12 p40 in serum was examined in STA-5326-treated or vehicle-treated mice receiving immunisation.

Results

The level of IL-12 p40 in serum was decreased in mice treated with STA-5326. Oral administration of either 5 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg STA-5326 reduced the severity of EAU on day 14 and 18. In addition, mice treated with 20 mg/kg STA-5326 showed significantly decreased severity of EAU by histopathological analysis. Although IFN-γ production of draining lymph node cells was increased in STA-5326-treated mice by ELISA analysis, the proportion of IFN-γ-producing cells was not significantly altered. However, IL-17 production and the proportion of IL-17-producing cells were significantly reduced in STA-5326-treated mice. Furthermore, oral administration of STA-5326 during the effector phase reduced the severity of EAU.

Conclusions

These results indicate that oral administration of the IL-12/IL-23 inhibitor STA-5326 is effective in suppressing inflammation in the EAU model, and reduces the expansion of IL-17-producing cells. STA-5326 may represent a new therapeutic modality for human refractory uveitis.  相似文献

The immuno-potentiating effects of the antler-shaped fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum (Rokkaku-Reishi, RR), which has been used as a traditional supplement for human health, were investigated in mice. BALB/c mice were administered orally with RR for 3 days at a dose of 50 mg/kg or 500 mg/kg, and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) production by splenocytes in response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was examined on day 4. The oral administration of 500 mg/kg of RR resulted in a significant increase (p<0.05) in IFN-gamma production. Stimulation of splenic adherent cells from these mice with LPS also resulted in a significant increase (p<0.05) in interleukin-12 (IL-12) production compared with that from the control mice, suggesting that splenic macrophages were activated by RR administration. Furthermore, 500 mg/kg of RR administered for 14 days resulted in a significant increase (p<0.05) in IFN-gamma production by splenocytes in response to both LPS and concanavalin A (Con A). These results suggest that not only splenic macrophages but also T cells were activated by the long-term treatment with RR in vivo. On the other hand, the production of interleukin-4 (IL-4), which is known as an allergic disease-related cytokine, was not affected by the long-term treatment with RR. Our results suggest that the oral administration of RR resulted in Th1-associated immuno-potentiating activities in vivo.  相似文献

We have investigated the effects of interleukin 2 (IL-2) on cytotoxic activity of spleen lymphocytes, from normal and cyclophosphamide (200 mg/kg) or B-16 melanoma suppressed mice, after in vitro or in vivo pretreatment with thymosin alpha 1 (TA1). The results of this study indicate that pretreatment in vitro (100 ng/ml for 1 hr) or in vivo (200 micrograms/kg/day for 4 days) with thymosin alpha 1 (TA1), significantly increased the IL-2 (from 100 to 500 U/ml) in vitro induced cytotoxic activity of spleen lymphocytes, collected from both normal and cyclophosphamide and tumor-suppressed animals, against both YAC-1 (NK sensitive) and MBL-2 (NK resistant) cell lines. The potential use in combination of these two different biological response modifiers, useful in enhancing the immunological responses to IL-2 of lymphocytes, may provide a novel model of immunotherapeutic intervention in cancer.  相似文献

Roxithromycin (RXM), an anti-bacterial macrolide, has various immunomodulatory activities. To investigate the ability of RXM to downregulate skin-infiltration of T-lymphocytes, we examined the effects of RXM on keratinocyte production of chemokines and T cell expression of chemokine receptors. Normal human and HaCaT keratinocytes were cultured with RXM and stimulants. RXM at 1 or 10 microM significantly suppressed the production/expression of Th2 chemokines MDC and TARC in these keratinocytes, but the production of IP-10 was not affected. The effect of RXM on T-cell expression of the corresponding chemokine receptors was also tested in Th2-rich peripheral blood lymphocytes. The IL-2-enhanced expression level of Th2 chemokine receptor CCR4 was decreased by RXM at 10 microM, whereas the expression of CXCR3 was unchanged. Thus, RXM downmodulates both the production and receptor expression of Th2 but not Th1 chemokines involved in cutaneous immunity, suggesting its beneficial therapeutic effects on Th2-mediated or allergic skin disorders.  相似文献

Both the production of cytokines and the distribution of immune cells within the uterus change during early pregnancy. Evidence obtained mainly from mice indicates that these changes are important for implantation and in preventing a maternal immune response to the conceptus. The ruminant embryo also produces interferon tau at this time, the signal for the maternal recognition of pregnancy. The relationship between these events in cows was studied using uteri from three groups of animals on day 16 after observed oestrus: (i) cyclic controls, (ii) pregnant and (iii) inseminated but with no embryo present. Embryo size and the antiviral activity in uterine flushings (indicative of the interferon tau concentration) were measured. Sections of intact uterus were frozen for the localization and quantitation of CD4(+) (T lymphocytes), CD14(+) (macrophages) and CD21(+) (B lymphocytes) uterine cells by immunohistochemistry. The expression of interleukin (IL)-1alpha, IL-2, IL-6 and IL-10 mRNAs in uterine extracts was measured by RT-PCR. Neither embryo size, interferon tau concentration nor pregnancy status influenced the distribution of CD4(+), CD14(+) or CD21(+) cells in the day 16 uterus. Endometrial IL-1alpha mRNA was detected in most cows across the groups, whereas IL-2 mRNA was only present in the non-pregnant uterus. IL-6 and IL-10 mRNAs were not detectable in any uteri. In conclusion, IL-2 mRNA expression is detectable in the non-pregnant but not the pregnant uterus on day 16 and interferon t is unlikely to play a role in the redistribution of immune cells in the uterus during early bovine pregnancy.  相似文献

A water-soluble oligosaccharide, N-acetyl chitohexaose (NACOS-6) was able to enhance the protecting effect of BALB/c male mice against Listeria monocytogenes infection, when administered intraperitoneally 24 hr before the challenge with this microbe. Significant decrease in number of microbes within the peritoneal cavity, spleen, and liver from the mice of NACOS-6-administered group was not observed 1 day after the infection but 4 days after the infection. Administration of NACOS-6 enhanced the delayed-type hypersensitivity response against sheep red blood cells (SRBC) or heat-killed L. monocytogenes. Splenic T lymphocytes from mice administered NACOS-6 released macrophage activating factor (MAF). These results suggested that NACOS-6 was also able to elevate the function of cellular immunity. Macrophages treated with a combination of NACOS-6 and the culture supernatant of splenic T lymphocytes from mice administered NACOS-6, "NACOS-6 sup," were found to exert a fairly strong growth-inhibitory effect on L. monocytogenes. Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) and interleukin 2 (IL-2) were able to enhance the growth-inhibitory effect on L. monocytogenes by the NACOS-6-treated macrophages.  相似文献

BXSB male mice serve as one of several murine models of human systemic lupus erythematosus. T-cell abnormalities in these mice involve decreased production of and responsiveness interleukin 2 (IL-2) and are age-related. The studies presented here investigated the mechanism of these T-cell defects. The results suggest that excessive suppressor-T-cell activity as well as soluble inhibitors of IL-2 production and activity, including PGE, are not responsible for the low levels of IL-2 observed in culture supernatants of Con A-stimulated lymphocytes from "old" (3-6 months) BXSB male mice. Supplementation of Con A-stimulated lymphocyte cultures from BXSB male mice with human IL-1 or normal murine accessory cells did not augment IL-2 production. Reduced proliferative responses were observed in bulk cultures of Con A- or alloantigen-stimulated "old" BXSB male lymphocytes, which were not enhanced by exogenous IL-2. Limiting dilution analysis revealed reduced frequencies of Con A- and alloantigen-inducible IL-2-reactive T cells in these mice. These results suggest intrinsic defects in the ability of T cells from "old" BXSB male mice to be activated to produce and respond to IL-2.  相似文献

Intestinal mucosal immunity plays an important role in mucosal and systemic immune responses. We investigated the influences of orally administered bovine lactoferrin (LF) on cytokine production by intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) and mesenteric lymph-node (MLN) cells, especially T cells. Bovine LF or bovine serum albumin (control) was administered to mice once daily for 3 d. After 24 h from the last administration, IEL of the jejunum and ileum and MLN cells were isolated. These cells were cultured with and without the anti-T-cell-receptor antibody, and then the culture supernatants were assayed for cytokines with ELISA. Oral LF did not affect the ratio of T-cell subpopulations in IEL and MLN; however, LF enhanced both interferon (IFN)-gamma and interleukin (IL)-10 production by unstimulated IEL and by IEL stimulated with the alphabeta T-cell receptor but not with the gammadelta T-cell receptor. LF also enhanced both IFN-gamma and IL-10 production by stimulated and unstimulated MLN cells. The production level of IFN-gamma by MLN cells was correlated with that of IL-10. These results suggest that oral LF enhances the production of both Th1-type and Th2/Tr-type cytokines in the small intestine of healthy animals.  相似文献

A recent study has shown that amiodarone inhibits the production of cytokines in vitro. This study was performed to examine the effects of amiodarone on survival, heart weight-to-body-weight ratio (HW/BW), myocardial lesions and cytokines production in a murine model of viral myocarditis induced by the encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV). Four-week-old male DBA/2 mice were inoculated with the EMCV. To examine its effect on survival and HW/BW on day 14, mice were administered oral amiodarone (30 mg/kg) or the vehicle only once daily, starting 4 days before inoculation of the virus. The effects of amiodarone on histopathologic changes in myocardial lesions and myocardial cytokine production were studied in mice treated with amiodarone (10 mg/kg or 30 mg/kg) or vehicle, and killed day 7. The survival rate on day 14 was significantly higher in the amiodarone-treated mice than in the control mice. The HW/BW, histopathologic score of cellular infiltration and myocardial interleukin 6 concentration were significantly lower in the amiodarone-treated group than in the control group. Likewise, myocardial necrotic area was significantly smaller in the amiodarone group than in the control group. This study suggests that the beneficial effects of amiodarone in viral myocarditis may be mediated by decreasing interleukin 6 production in myocardial tissue.  相似文献

Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a chemotactic cytokine for neutrophils and lymphocytes. Macrophage inflammatory protein 2 (MIP-2) is a murine counterpart of IL-8. The present study was performed to determine whether MIP-2 aggravates murine myocarditis. We examined (i) the MIP-2-producing activity of encephalomyocarditis (EMC) virus-infected cultured macrophages, (ii) serial plasma MIP-2 levels in EMC virus-induced mice by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and (iii) the effects of antimouse MIP-2 monoclonal antibody (MAb) in vivo upon myocarditis. The production of MIP-2 increased in an infection dose- and time-dependent manner in virus-infected RAW 264. 7 macrophages. Five-week-old C(3)H/He mice were inoculated with EMC virus. Plasma MIP-2 levels were significantly elevated in mice on days 7 and 14 postinfection. Mice were injected subcutaneously with anti-MIP-2 MAb at 10 microg/day (group 2) or 100 microg/day (group 3) on days 0 to 5 and were observed until day 21. Uninfected control mice (group 1) were prepared. The survival rate was higher in the anti-MIP-2-treated group (group 3), but not in group 2, than in the control group. Histopathological analysis revealed that cellular infiltration and myocardial necrosis with macrophage and T-cell accumulation were less prominent in the anti-MIP-2 MAb-treated group, but not in group 2, compared to the level in the controls. MIP-2 is an important naturally occurring inflammatory cytokine in myocarditis, and anti-MIP-2 MAb treatment may prevent the inflammatory response.  相似文献
