Polymorphism of three populations of the Buryat Republic and a population from Aginskii Buryat Autonomous okrug of Chita oblast was examined using a set of five autosomal Aluinsertions at theACE, PLAT, PV92, APOA1,and F13Bloci. The allele frequency distribution patterns revealed in Buryat populations were typical to other Asian populations. Buryats were characterized by relatively low level of intrapopulation diversity (0.369 in the pooled population sample). Analysis of autosomal Aluinsertions suggests the uniformity of the Buryat gene pool. The coefficient of genetic differentiation in the four populations studied was 0.8%.  相似文献

Phenotype and allele frequencies of the genetically dimorphic system determining urinary excretion of -aminoisobutyric acid (BAIB) were studied in population samples of Buryats from the Aginskii Buryat Autonomous District and Lithuanians from Vilnius and in patients with coronary atherosclerosis (CA) from both populations. Frequency of allele BAIB*b, which determines high BAIB excretion, proved to be more than twice higher in Buryats compared with the population sample of Lithuanians (0.620 versus 0.289, respectively). The proportion of individuals with high BAIB excretion in CA patients of either ethnic sample was twice higher than in the corresponding control sample. Frequency of allele BAIB*bin CA patients and healthy individuals was 0.348 and 0.242, respectively, in the Lithuanian population and 0.775 and 0.557, respectively, in the Buryat population. Thus, assessment of urinary excretion of BAIB proved to be prognostically valuable. The method used to detect a variation in BAIB excretion is relatively inexpensive, simple, and suitable for mass screening of patients and healthy individuals (population control). After additional testing with representative samples, the method can be used as an accessory diagnostic test in patients with cardiovascular disorders.  相似文献

The level of T174M polymorphism of the angiotensinogen gene (AGT) was studied for the first time in Siberian populations. The frequency of allele M was found to be 7% in Russians, 6% in Tuvinians, and 4% in Buryats. In the Mongoloid population of Siberia (Tuvinians and Buryats), the genotypic frequencies deviated from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P < 0.05). The studied polymorphism of the AGT gene determined in Siberian populations was compared with that of other ethnic groups in the world population, and genetic distinctions were estimated. Only the Buryat population was found to differ significantly from the French, English, and Chinese in the frequency of allele M. No association between the T174M polymorphism of the AGT gene and pathological pregnancy (gestosis) was revealed in Buryat women.  相似文献

The marriage structure of the population of Ulan Ude, the capital of Buryat Republic, which is characterized by a mixed ethnic composition, has been studied. Differences between Ulan Ude districts in a number of genetic demographic parameters have been found. In ethnic terms, the city district populations differ from one another in the number of ethnic groups and the proportions of the largest groups (Russians and Buryats). In the total Ulan Ude population, the proportions of Russian men and women among persons contracting marriages are 71.44 and 73.79%, respectively; those of Buryat men and women are 23.36 and 22.79%, respectively. The total proportion of all other ethnic groups among both men and women contracting marriages is no more than 5.2%. The mean ages at first marriage in both indigenous and immigrant populations of Ulan Ude are relatively old; these values are 25.9 and 24.72 years for Buryat men and women and 24.86 and 22.69 for non-indigenous men and women, respectively.  相似文献

The results of an estimation of the level of subdivision in the Buryat ethnos (obtained on the basis of data published by a number of research teams) are given. Altogether, information about 34 loci, including 25 diallelic loci and 9 STR loci, was analyzed. The results of the analysis, both for the diallelic polymorphic variants in genes predisposed to multifactorial diseases and for neutral STR markers, indicate the subdivision of the genetic structure of the different territorial groups of Buryats. The peculiarities of the ethnogenesis and heterogeneity of the settlement of Buryat tribes on the territory of residence are considered as one possible (but not the sole) explanation of the genetic heterogeneity of different territorial groups of Buryats. It is indicated that it is important to take into account information about the territorial, ethnic, and tribal affiliation of individuals (included in the studied groups) when planning studies aiming to establish a genetic component of the determination of pathological states in humans.  相似文献

Frequencies of the wild-type and null genotypes of the GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes were established in healthy donors from several Russian populations (ethnic Russians from the towns of Oshevensk and Kholmogory, Arkhangel'sk oblast; ethnic Khants; ethnic Kalmyks; and ethnic Buryats) in order to identify the ethnic group with the maximal frequency of the null genotype. The highest frequency of individuals with the null genotype of both genes was observed in the Kalmyk and Buryat populations. The results may be used to study the effect of climatic and ecological conditions on multifactorial disease incidence in populations.  相似文献

On the basis of 1212 questionnaires filled up by women of postreproductive age living in five districts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Arsky, Atninsky, Kukmorsky, Buinsky, and Drozhzhanovsky), the basic reproductive characteristics and Crow??s index and its components have been calculated. The rural population is characterized by expanded reproduction with a mean sibship size of 2.68; in district administrative centers, there is only simple reproduction. Crow??s index and its components for the rural Tatar population are I m = 0.026, I f = 0.172, I tot = 0.202. Distribution of the subtypes and gene frequencies of phosphoglucomutase-1 among some populations of Buryats, Kirghizes of the Pamir and Russians of Moscow district was analysed. The frequencies of PGM1 genes vary in Buryats being PGM1+(1) 0.647-0.743, PGM1-(1)-0.100-0.132, PGM2+(1)-0.122-0.199 and PGM2-(1)-0.007-0.037. Following frequencies of PGM1 genes were established for Kirghizes: PGM1+(1) = 0.614, PGM1-(1) = 0.114, PGM2+(1) = 0.217 and PGM2-(1) = 0.054; in Russian populations the frequencies were: PGM1+(1) = 0.578, PGM1-(1) = 0.110, PGM2+(1) = 0.253 and PGM2-(1) = 0.059. Peculiarities of PGM1 polymorphism in the USSR and all over the world were analysed. Parallel biodemographic investigations in Buryat population demonstrated differences in intensities of selection, related to concrete PGM genotypes.  相似文献

In Russian populations, polymorphism of two pigmentation system genes, OCA2 (loci 305, 355, and 419, tested in Russians, Buryats, Chukchi, Koryaks, and Evens) and ASIP (locus 8818, tested in Russians and Buryats) was examined. Pairwise comparisons of the F ST distances between the populations showed that only the populations from Northeast Asia (Chukchi, Koryaks, and Evens) were statistically significantly different from all other populations, at least relative to one of the OCA2 locus. In Russians from Pskov oblast and Novgorod oblast, increased frequency (up to 6%) of the OCA2 allele 419A was revealed. In earlier studies, as association of this allele with green eye color was demonstrated. The data obtained in terms of their application for ethnic population genetics.  相似文献

Questionnaire data of 704 women of postreproductive age were used in this study. Questionnaire involved 462 Kalmyks, 119 Russians, 43 Kazakhs, 52 representatives of Northern Caucasus ethnic groups and, 28 other ethnic groups. The average number of pregnancies in Kalmyks was 5.49; the average number of live births was 3.21. The Crow index for Kalmyks was I m = 0.038, I f = 0.300, I tot = 0.350; and for Russians in Kalmykia, I m = 0.030, I f = 0.264, I tot = 0.302.  相似文献

The structure of the Buryat gene pool has been studied based on the composition and frequency of Y-chromosome haplogroups in eight geographically distant populations. Eleven haplogroups have been found in the Buryat gene pool, two of which are the most frequent (N1c1 and C3d). The greatest difference in haplogroup frequencies was fixed between western and eastern Buryat samples. The evaluation of genetic diversity based on haplogroup frequencies revealed that it has low values in most of the samples. The evaluation of the genetic differentiation of the examined samples using an analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) shows that the Buryat gene pool is highly differentiated by haplotype frequencies. Phylogenetic analysis within haplogroups N1c1 and C3d revealed a strong founder effect, i.e., reduced diversity and starlike phylogeny of the median network of haplotypes that form specific subclusters. The results of a phylogenetic analysis of the haplogroups identified common genetic components for Buryats and Mongols.  相似文献

Information on the sex, age, and ethnic compositions; reproductive parameters; intensity of natural selection (Crow's indices); and surname diversity of three rural populations (the Byadi, Dyupsya, and Cheriktey villages) of the Ust-Aldan ulus (district) of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) has been analyzed. The rural Yakut population of the Ust-Aldan ulus is demographically young (the mean age 25–31 years) and characterized by low outbreeding, unfavorable sex ratio in both prereproductive and reproductive ages, and high fertility (3.58–5.45 children surviving until the reproductive age per woman that has completed the reproductive period), although the actual reproductively active period is shorter than half its physiological duration. In the structure of index of total selection, the differential-fertility component is considerably greater than the differential-mortality component (I tot = 0.625, I m = 0.093, and I f = 0.487). In the villages studied, some surnames are accumulated (45–65% of the population have five most frequent surnames), which determines the low surname diversity ( = 11.62–25.19) and high random isonymy (I r= 0.0391–0.0823).  相似文献

The data on the population structure of Formica aquilonia in the Middle Volga Area based on the variation of pilosity and coloration of workers are presented. Two population groups were distinguished by the pilosity characters: the northern group included the southern taiga population and the one located at the southern boundary of this subzone; the southern group comprised the populations of the mixed and broad-leaved forests. The pilosity characters reveal the F. aquilonia population structure at the regional level. They can be related to the ways of postglacial colonization of the territory and to the formation of the forest belt in the Quaternary. Phenotypic changes with respect to all the characters studied were revealed in the worker population of the anthill complex of F. aquilonia during 4 years of observation. They appear to have been caused by stochastic intrapopulation processes. The phenotypic homogeneity of the worker population was greater in the sites with higher settlement capacity (the sum of the areas of anthill dome bases related to the area of the settlement). Changes in the frequencies of the morphological characteristics were observed in the zones with low settlement capacity; the location of such zones has remained unchanged for some years. The stability of the spatial structure of the settlements appears to be associated with the distribution of forest biotopes suitable for dwelling of ants. The phenotypic heterogeneity of the complex has increased during the four-year period indicating the beginning of its fragmentation.  相似文献

Polymorphism of seven erythrocytic enzymes PGM1, ESD, CLO1, PGD and PGP were studied in five samples of Buryats. The main investment into differentiation between populations has been made by the following systems: CLO1, PGD and PGM1. Analysis of genetic distances between populations demonstrated that there was some parallelism among the genetic and anthropological differentiation in the Buryat populations. The groups of the Agingsky county (the area to the east from the Baikal Lake) have probably the largest proportion of the Caucasian genes as compared to other populations studied. One of the characteristics of the Buryats, especially for the population to the east from the Baikal Lake, is high frequency of the PGD allele. The rate of the genetic variability on the intra-population level is higher than the difference between populations. This means that the divergence between the Buryats populations is not very strong. Consideration of the genetic variability on the intra-population level seems to be more perspective for ecogenetic estimation of the adaptive genetic processes than analysis of the differences between populations studied.  相似文献

The genetic demographic structure of the Gagauz population of Moldova has been described for the first time. Data of interviews and official records have been used to analyze the sex and age structure of the population and marriage relationships, as well as to estimate the effective sizes of the populations of six settlements and selection intensity (according to Crow's formula). The demographic data indicate that social transformations have substantially affected the genetic demographic parameters of the population. The gene exchange rate per generation has been determined (m = 0.0204 in 1972 and m= 0.0309 in 1997). The estimated ratio between the components of Crow's index (I m < I f) in the Gagauz population is similar to those for the populations of developed countries with traditionally rural lifestyles. The study of marriage relationships of the Gagauz population has shown that Gagauzes are intensely mixing with Moldovans, Bulgarians, Russians, and Ukrainians.  相似文献

Background

Intimate partner violence (IPV) among men who have sex with men (MSM) is a significant problem. Little is known about the association between IPV and health for MSM. We aimed to estimate the association between experience and perpetration of IPV, and various health conditions and sexual risk behaviours among MSM.

Methods and Findings

We searched 13 electronic databases up to 23 October 2013 to identify research studies reporting the odds of health conditions or sexual risk behaviours for MSM experiencing or perpetrating IPV. Nineteen studies with 13,797 participants were included in the review. Random effects meta-analyses were performed to estimate pooled odds ratios (ORs). Exposure to IPV as a victim was associated with increased odds of substance use (OR = 1.88, 95% CIOR 1.59–2.22, I 2 = 46.9%, 95% CII 2 0%–78%), being HIV positive (OR = 1.46, 95% CIOR 1.26–1.69, I 2 = 0.0%, 95% CII 2 0%–62%), reporting depressive symptoms (OR = 1.52, 95% CIOR 1.24–1.86, I 2 = 9.9%, 95% CII 2 0%–91%), and engagement in unprotected anal sex (OR = 1.72, 95% CIOR 1.44–2.05, I 2 = 0.0%, 95% CII 2 0%–68%). Perpetration of IPV was associated with increased odds of substance use (OR = 1.99, 95% CIOR 1.33–2.99, I 2 = 73.1%). These results should be interpreted with caution because of methodological weaknesses such as the lack of validated tools to measure IPV in this population and the diversity of recall periods and key outcomes in the identified studies.

Conclusions

MSM who are victims of IPV are more likely to engage in substance use, suffer from depressive symptoms, be HIV positive, and engage in unprotected anal sex. MSM who perpetrate IPV are more likely to engage in substance use. Our results highlight the need for research into effective interventions to prevent IPV in MSM, as well as the importance of providing health care professionals with training in how to address issues of IPV among MSM and the need to raise awareness of local and national support services. We evaluated the population structure of the bog and dry land populations of the Siberian pine Pinus sibirica (P. sibrica) in Western Siberia using nuclear genome markers. Six pairs of nuclear microsatellite loci were used for this analysis. We detected 30 allelic variants in 120 individuals of four populations of P. sibirica. We established that the studied populations differ by genetic structure. The most essential differences were identified between the Siberian pine population from oligotrophic bog and the group of populations from dry land within eutrophic bogs and near settlements P. sibirica forest (F ST = 0.019; D N = 0.053). We estimated that diversification of the West Siberian populations of P. sibirica exceeded 2.4% (F ST = 0.024), based on an analysis of SSR markers.  相似文献
