The scientific objectives was to quantify the vascular changes in the brain, eye fundus, renal parenchyma, and splanchnic network. Heart, Portal, Jugular, femoral veins were investigate by Echography. The cerebral mesenteric, renal and ophthalmic arteries were investigated by Doppler. Eye fundus vein an papilla were investigated by optical video eye fundus. The Left ventricle volume decreased as usual in HDT. The cerebral and ophthalmic vascular resistances did'nt change whereas the eye fundus papilla and vein, and the Jugular vein increased. These arterial and venous data confirm the existence of cephalic venous blood stasis without sign of intracranial hypertension. On the other hand the kidney volume increased which is in agreement with blood flow stagnation at this level. At last the Mesenteric vascular resistance decreased and the Portal vein section increased in HDT which is in favor of an increase in flow and flow volume through the splanchnic area.  相似文献

A study of the arrangement of the superficial veins of the cubital fossa was made on 300 students and staff of the Military Medical College and the AlMustansiriya College of Medicine. Six types of variations of arrangement of the veins were found, two of which have not been mentioned before. The commonest type was that the median vein of the forearm divides in the cubital fossa into 2 veins, one of which joins the basilic vein, and the other the cephalic vein, although in a few cases this joining (or arrangement), occurred above the cubital fossa. The arrangements which have not been mentioned before were that the communication between basilic and cephalic veins was through a horizontal venous connection between 1 of the tributaries of these 2 veins and the basilic vein, and that the median vein of the forearm divides into median cephalic and median basilic, and a vein from the front of the forearm drains into the median basilic vein.  相似文献

The lack of adequate recipient vessels often complicates microvascular breast reconstruction in patients who have previously undergone mastectomy and irradiation. In addition, significant size mismatch, particularly in the outflow veins, is an important contributor to vessel thrombosis and flap failure. The purpose of this study was to review the authors' experience with alternative venous outflow vessels for microvascular breast reconstruction. In a retrospective analysis of 1278 microvascular breast reconstructions performed over a 10-year period, the authors identified all patients in whom the external jugular or cephalic veins were used as the outflow vessels. Patient demographics, flap choice, the reasons for the use of alternative venous drainage vessels, and the incidence of microsurgical complications were analyzed. The external jugular was used in 23 flaps performed in procedures with 22 patients. The superior gluteal and transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous (TRAM) flaps were used in the majority of the cases in which the external jugular vein was used (72 percent gluteal, 20 percent TRAM flap). The need for alternative venous outflow vessels was usually due to a significant vessel size mismatch between the superior gluteal and internal mammary veins (74 percent). For three of the external jugular vein flaps (13 percent), the vein was used for salvage after the primary draining vein thrombosed, and two of three flaps in these cases were eventually salvaged. In three patients, the external jugular vein thrombosed, resulting in two flap losses, while the third was salvaged using the cephalic vein. A total of two flaps were lost in the external jugular vein group. The cephalic vein was used in 11 flaps (TRAM, 64.3 percent; superior gluteal, 35.7 percent) performed in 11 patients. In five patients (54.5 percent), the cephalic vein was used to salvage a flap after the primary draining vein thrombosed; the procedure was successful in four cases. In three patients, the cephalic vein thrombosed, resulting in two flap losses. One patient suffered a thrombosis after the cephalic vein was used to salvage a flap in which the external jugular vein was initially used, leading to flap loss, while a second patient experienced cephalic vein thrombosis on postoperative day 7 while carrying a heavy package. There was only one minor complication attributable to the harvest of the external jugular or cephalic vein (small neck hematoma that was aspirated), and the resultant scars were excellent. The external jugular and cephalic veins are important ancillary veins available for microvascular breast reconstruction. The dissection of these vessels is straightforward, and their use is well tolerated and highly successful.  相似文献

To establish whether an enterohepatic circulation of the metabolites of vitamin D exists, polyethylene catheters were cannulated into the portal vein of dogs. The dogs were then starved for 24 h and injected with cholecystokinin (CCK) to induce gall bladder contraction. At various time intervals thereafter blood samples were collected from the portal and the saphena veins, and sera prepared and analyzed for the metabolites of vitamin D. The serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] were found to be significantly higher in the portal blood when compared with levels in peripheral blood following CCK injection. Since portal blood collects nutrients absorbed from the gut and as the dogs were starved for 24 h prior to blood collection, the only source of the increased concentrations of 25(OH)D in portal blood is likely to be bile. These findings support the notion that an enterohepatic circulation of 25(OH)D does exist under normal physiological conditions.  相似文献

Blood sampling is often critical for answering a variety of questions about wild birds. However, it is important to assess the impacts, if any, of blood collection on wild birds. Here, we examined the effects of blood sampling on adults or nestlings in three species of free-living birds. First, we examined the effects of blood collection on annual survival and reproductive success in adult buff-breasted wrens Thryothorus leucotis in Panama. In adult wrens, blood collection from the brachial vein during the breeding season had no effect on annual survival or reproductive success. Second, we examined whether blood collection influenced mass gain in developing smooth-billed anis Crotophaga ani in Puerto Rico. In developing anis, blood collection from the femoral or jugular veins had no effect on mass gain of nestlings. Third, in developing European starlings Sturnus vulgaris in British Columbia, Canada, blood collection from the brachial vein had no effect of body condition. Blood collection from the jugular vein had a transient effect on body condition during the first week post-hatch, but this effect disappeared by the second week of age. Lastly, we present an extensive up-to-date review of the literature on the effects of blood collection on free-living avian species. Taken together, these data show that blood collection has no major negative effects on developing or adult birds in the wild.  相似文献

The venous anatomy of the forearm skin was examined radiographically in 15 fresh cadavers that had been injected systemically with a lead oxide-gelatin mixture. In 10 specimens, the forearm skin was divided into the skin and superficial adipofascial layer and the deep adipofascial layer. Five specimens were radiographed stereoscopically. Despite the thinness of the skin and subcutaneous tissue of the forearm, the cutaneous vein was seen three-dimensionally. Judging from the architecture and direction of the venous valves, most of the venous blood that had perfused the dermis was believed to: (1) pool in a venous network located in the superficial zone of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, (2) flow chiefly in the accessory cephalic and median antebrachial veins, and (3) enter the cephalic and basilic veins near the antecubital fossa. Venae comitantes of the septocutaneous and musculocutaneous perforators of the radial or ulnar arteries were thought to be only bypasses to the deep vein.  相似文献

Progesterone, 20alpha-dihydroprogesterone, estrone and estradiol-17beta concentrations were estimated by radioimmunoassay in blood plasma from uterine, uteroovarian and femoral veins of rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) on days 22, 49, 128 and 160 of gestation. Steroids were consistently more concentrated in uterine and uteroovarian that in femoral venous plasma and in many cases levels in the uteroovarian vein were also higher than those in the uterine vein indicating luteal secretion of both progestins and estrogens thoughout gestation. In some animals, however, the corpus luteum appeared quiescent. As reflected in the decline in the uterine venous progesterone/estradiol-17beta concentration ratio, a shift in steroid contribution from the uterus and its contents occurred between days 22 and 49 of gestation with progesterone declining more rapidly than estradiol-17beta. Progesterone/20alpha-dihydroprogesterone was higher in both uterine and uteroovarian than in femoral venous plasma suggesting peripheral metabolism of progesterone to 20alpha-dihydroprogesterone.  相似文献

Venous diseases like iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis and valvular dysfunction induce venous hypertension. To know the effects of the hypertension on venous mechanics, blood pressure in the left femoral vein in the rabbit was chronically elevated by the constriction of the left external iliac vein. Wall dimensions and biomechanical properties of the femoral vein were studied in vitro at 1, 2, or 4 wk after surgery. Blood pressure measured immediately before the animal was killed was significantly higher in the left femoral vein than in the sham-operated, contralateral vein. Wall thickness was increased by blood pressure elevation even at 1 wk, which restored circumferential wall stress to a control level. The stress was kept at normal up to 4 wk. Vascular tone and vascular contractility were increased by the elevation of blood pressure; however, wall elasticity and compliance were kept at a normal level. These results are very similar to those observed in hypertensive arteries, indicating that not only arteries but veins optimally operate against blood pressure elevation.  相似文献

The effects of denervation of alpha 2 adrenoceptor binding sites were examined in canine arteries and veins. Denervation of the lower abdominal aorta, renal and femoral arteries and femoral veins marked reduced vessel norepinephrine concentrations. Denervation had little effect on the concentration of alpha 2 adrenoceptor binding sites or the affinity of (3H)yohimbine for these sites. The apparent lack of any significant reduction in receptor binding sites suggests that the majority of these sites are located on smooth muscle cells of blood vessels. The failure of any appreciable rise in receptor concentration following denervation is consistent with the hypothesis from functional studies that postsynaptic alpha 2 adrenoceptors on blood vessels are located extra-synaptically and hence not influenced by neurally released norepinephrine.  相似文献

To elucidate age-related changes of mineral contents in human veins, the relative contents (RCs) of elements in the human internal jugular veins, superior and inferior venae cavae, and femoral veins from 27 subjects ranging from 40 to 98 yr old were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. The average RCs of calcium in the 27 specimens were the highest in the internal jugular vein, followed in descending order by the superior vena cava, femoral vein, and inferior vena cava. The RCs of calcium and phosphorus in the internal jugular veins started to increase after the age of 50 yr, became the highest in subjects in their 60s and thereafter decreased gradually. It is noted that such accumulations of minerals, similar to the internal jugular vein, were also found in the veins, such as the superior and inferior venae cavae, and femoral vein. Accumulation of minerals in the veins is different from that of arteries, which increase progressively by aging, but do not decrease.  相似文献

The investigation was intended to study the role ofbaroreceptors ofhemodynamically isolated zone of vertebral arteries in regulation of peripheral veins tonus, arterial pressure and external respiration. Pressure decrease in this vascular reflexogenic zone led to reflex responses of increase in femoral vein tonus, elevation of blood pressure level and stimulation of external respiration. The opposite reflex responses of cardio-respiratory functional system to initial pressure activation of vertebral arteries baroreceptors are observed. Basing on generalization of our own findings and similar physiological and morphological researches of other authors, it is established that afferentation from the vertebral artery zone is a reflexogenic factor of somatic muscles' veins tonus regulation. These reflexes of capacity vessels tonic activity changes are part of cardio-respiratory responses of maintaining the tissue gaseous exchange.  相似文献

Possible involvement of cyclic GMP-dependent and cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinases, protein kinase modulators and cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases in functions of vascular tissues were investigated in the dog. All of the above activities, localized in the smooth muscle-rich inner layer of the blood vessels, were found to be higher in the arteries than in the veins. The peripheral arteries were disproportionately richer in cyclic GMP-dependent protein kinase (as indicated by high ratios of cyclic GMP-dependent to cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase) than were the veins, with the exception of the pulmonary artery, an atypical arterial tissue exposed to low blood pressure. Interestingly, the protein kinase ratio for the aorta, an artery with no significant role in blood pressure regulation, was not higher than that for the vena cava. Creation of femoral arteriovenous fistulae in the dogs led to preferential reductions in the cyclic GMP-dependent enzyme activity both in the proximal and distal arteries, whereas it was elevated in the stressed vein distal to the anastomotic site. The cyclic GMP-dependent enzyme was preferentially reduced in the saphenous artery distal to occlusion. Changes in the cyclic GMP-dependent enzyme activity appeared to precede gross atrophy or hypertrophy of the vessels. It is suggested that the vascular cyclic GMP-dependent protein kinase may be closely related to peripheral resistance and its regulation.  相似文献

目的建立一种可靠的食蟹猴经股静脉导管长期给药的方法.方法选取20只雄性食蟹猴,麻醉后经股静脉造口,插入静脉导管,将植入式通道与导管连接并将其埋植于背部皮下,通过与植入式通道相连的输液泵进行给药.分别于术前1周、术后1周及术后2周测定血常规、血凝、生化等值.结果全部动物都能完成为期3个月的给药,手术感染率、导管堵塞率较低,分别为10%和5%.术后两周89.5%的生理指标与术前相比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05).结论该实验采用的食蟹猴经股静脉插管并通过输液泵进行长期给药是一种安全、有效的方法,可广泛用于药理学及毒理学实验.  相似文献

In Polyptems senegalus a peculiar venous system exists. The pattern is symmetrical in embryos and in early-larval stages, but soon the asymmetrical development of the Cuvierian ducts, originating from vitelline veins, causes a predominance of the system to the right side. The two posterior cardinal veins coalesce except in the anterior region, where the right vein becomes the direct continuation of the single vein; in later stages the single posterior cardinal vein acquires a peculiar disposition, partially in the left and partially in the right kidney. The inferior jugular veins become asymmetrical as well. The anterior cardinal veins are replaced by lateral cephalic veins. A special vein in the abdomen may be considered as being a vena cava. Other peculiar items are the pulmonary veins. Other veins are more or less similar to those of other fishes.  相似文献

The recirculation of Trichinella spiralis newborn larvae was studied in inbred AO rats. Newborn larvae collected after in vitro incubation of adult T. spiralis worms for 2 or 24 hr were injected into rats through the tail vein or hepatic portal vein. Blood samples from the femoral vein, hepatic portal vein, and abdominal aorta were collected at intervals from 1 min to 24 hr after larval injection. Newborn larvae of both ages (24 hr or 2 hr old) persisted in femoral vein blood for less than or equal to 5 hr after injection, but they could be detected in portal vein blood by 24 hr after injection. The injection of larvae into a tail vein or the portal vein did not influence the pattern of larval circulation, although there was a 1-5 min delay in newborn larval appearance time after injection into the portal vein. Transcapillary migration through tissue and back to the circulation was evident in the appearance of newborn larvae in the thoracic duct lymph up to 24 (occasionally 48) hr after tail vein injection of newborn larvae. During the course of a natural primary infection, no evidence for trapping of larvae in the mesenteric lymph node could be found despite direct larval migration through this organ. Injected newborn larvae were retained in the lungs, and small numbers could be recovered 24 hr after intravenous injection. We conclude that a proportion of newborn larvae recirculates within the vasculature for several hours; a smaller population extravasates but can reenter the circulatory system via the lymphatics. Furthermore, some newborn larvae are found in organs rich in capillaries up to 24 hr after their entry into the blood.  相似文献

Comparative study on effectiveness of intravenous and subcutaneous methods of infection of animals has shown that infection rate of helminths after the injection of equal dozes of cercariae under skin, into portal and femoral veins of golden hamsters does not differ significantly (42.6 +/- 4.2, 37.8 +/- 5.8 and 26.0 +/- 6.6 schistosomes, respectively). When using the above methods for cotton rats the infection rate was lower than that in golden hamsters. The most insignificant infection rate of parasites was recorded in both species after the injection of cercariae into the femoral vein. Results of the infection of golden hamsters with different dozes of cercariae have shown that with the increase of dozes of infectious material the infection rate of helminths rises during the experimental intestinal schistosomiasis only to a definite level, which is attained by the injection of cercariae into the portal vein in dozes lower than those used for subcutaneous infection.  相似文献

Collection of blood from amphibians, as in other classes of vertebrate animals, is essential to evaluate parameters of health, diagnose hemoparasitism, identify viral and bacterial pathogens, and measure antibodies. Various methods of blood collection have been described for amphibians. Most can be cumbersome (venipucture of femoral vein, ventral abdominal vein or lingual venus plexus) or result in pain or deleterious health consequences (cardiac puncture and toe-clipping). We describe an easy and practical technique to collect blood from frogs and toads that can be used in multiple species and is minimally invasive. The technique consists of puncturing either the facial or, less commonly, the musculo-cutaneous vein and collecting the blood with a capillary tube. These veins run dorsal and parallel to the maxillary bone and can be accessed by quick insertion and withdrawal of a needle through the skin between the upper jawline and the rostral or caudal side of the tympanum. The needle should be of 27 or 30 gauge for anurans weighing more or less than 25 g, respectively. Although the technique has been used by some amphibian researchers for years, it is little known by others and has never been fully described in a peer-reviewed publication.  相似文献

The numbers of plasmalemmal vesicles in endothelial cells of rat blood vessels were determined on electron microscopic sections. In all vessels examined which included aorta and carotid and femoral arteries, vena cava and femoral vein, and lung and brain capillaries, the numbers were of the same order of magnitude. For arteries the numbers were about double those for the corresponding veins. About one-third of all vesicles could be stained with ruthenium red after its infusion into the vessels. The results make it improbable that differences in numbers of 'transport' vesicles in different types of blood vessel contribute significantly to the selective accumulation of atherogenic plasma proteins in arteries.  相似文献

In this experimental study, venous end-to-end and end-to-side microvascular anastomoses in similar and diameter-discrepant vessels were compared. In 50 rats, end-to-end microvascular repair of the divided epigastric vein and end-to-side repair of the epigastric vein into the femoral vein showed 5-day patency rates of 75 and 88 percent, respectively. These data are not statistically different. In 20 rats, microvascular repair of end epigastric to end femoral veins (size discrepant) and end epigastric to side femoral veins showed 5-day patency rates of 50 and 85 percent, respectively. These data are statistically different (p less than 0.05). We conclude from these experimental data that end-to-side venous repairs may be useful in lowering the anastomosis thrombosis rate seen when size-discrepant veins are repaired.  相似文献
