The aim of this study was to examine the effect of recovery mode on repeated sprint ability in young basketball players. Sixteen basketball players (age, 16.8 +/- 1.2 years; height, 181.3 +/- 5.7 cm; body mass, 73 +/- 10 kg; VO2max, 59.5 +/- 7.9 mL x kg(-1) x min(-1)) performed in random order over 2 separate occasions 2 repeated sprint ability protocols consisting of 10 x 30-m shuttle run sprints with 30 seconds of passive or active (running at 50% of maximal aerobic speed) recovery. Results showed that fatigue index (FI) during the active protocol was significantly greater than in the passive condition (5.05 +/- 2.4, and 3.39 +/- 2.3, respectively, p < 0.001). No significant association was found between VO2peak and FI and sprint total time (TT) in either repeated sprint protocols. Blood lactate concentration at 3 minutes post exercise was not significantly different between the 2 recovery conditions. The results of this study show that during repeated sprinting, passive recovery enabled better performance, reducing fatigue. Consequently, the use of passive recovery is advisable during competition in order to limit fatigue as a consequence of repeated high intensity exercise.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of previous warming on high-intensity intermittent running using nonmotorized treadmill ergometry. Ten male soccer players completed a repeated sprint test (10 x 6-second sprints with 34-second recovery) on a nonmotorized treadmill preceded by an active warm-up (10 minutes of running: 70% VO2max; mean core temperature (Tc) 37.8 +/- 0.2 degrees C), a passive warm-up (hot water submersion: 40.1 +/- 0.2 degrees C until Tc reached that of the active warm-up; 10 minutes +/- 23 seconds), or no warm-up (control). All warm-up conditions were followed by a 10-minute static recovery period with no stretching permitted. After the 10-minute rest period, Tc was higher before exercise in the passive trial (38.0 +/- 0.2 degrees C) compared to the active (37.7 +/- 0.4 degrees C) and control trials (37.2 +/- 0.2 degrees C; p < 0.05). There were no differences in pre-exercise oxygen consumption and blood lactate concentration; however, heart rate was greater in the active trial (p < 0.05). The peak mean 1-second maximum speed (MxSP) and group mean MxSP were not different in the active and passive trials (7.28 +/- 0.12 and 7.16 +/- 0.10 m x s(-1), respectively, and 7.07 +/- 0.33 and 7.02 +/- 0.24 m x s(-1), respectively; p > 0.05), although both were greater than the control. The percentage of decrement in performance fatigue was similar between all conditions (active, 3.4 +/- 1.3%; passive, 4.0 +/- 2.0%; and control, 3.7 +/- 2.4%). We conclude that there is no difference in high-intensity intermittent running performance when preceded by an active or passive warm-up when matched for post-warm-up Tc. However, repeated sprinting ability is significantly improved after both active and passive warm-ups compared to no warm-up.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare heart rate (HR) responses within and between physical controlled (short-duration intermittent running) and physical integrated (sided games) training methods in elite soccer players. Ten adult male elite soccer players (age, 26 +/- 2.9 years; body mass, 78.3 +/- 4.4 kg; maximum HR [HRmax], 195.4 +/- 4.9 b x min(-1) and velocity at maximal aerobic speed (MAS), 17.1 +/- 0.8 km x h(-1)) performed different short-duration intermittent runs, e.g., 30-30 (30 seconds of exercise interspersed with 30 seconds of recovery) with active recovery, and 30-30, 15-15, 10-10, and 5-20 seconds with passive recovery, and different sided games (1 versus 1, 2 versus 2, 4 versus 4, 8 versus 8 with and without a goalkeeper, and 10 versus 10). In both training methods, HR was measured and expressed as a mean percentage of HR reserve (%HRres). The %HRres in the 30-30-second intermittent run at 100% MAS with active recovery (at 9 km.h with corresponding distance) was significantly higher than that with passive recovery (85.7% versus 77.2% HRres, respectively, p < 0.001) but also higher than the 1 versus 1 (p < 0.01), 4 versus 4 (p 相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine whether the changes in the rules of the game instituted in 2000 have modified the physiological factors of success in basketball. The performances of 8 elite male players and 8 average-level players were compared in order to identify which components of fitness among agility, speed, anaerobic power, anaerobic capacity, and upper body strength were key determinants of performance in modern basketball. Each subject performed 7 tests, including vertical jump (VJ), 20-m sprint, agility T test, suicide sprint, 30-second Wingate anaerobic test (WAnT), isokinetic testing of the knee extensors, and 1 repetition maximum (1RM) bench press test. The statistical difference in the anaerobic performances was assessed by Student's t test. The main results showed that, compared to average-level players, elite-level players achieved significantly better performances in the agility T test (+6.2%), VJ test (+8.8%), peak torques developed by knee extensors (+20.2%), and 1RM bench press (+18.6%, p < 0.05). In contrast, no significant difference between groups was observed on 20-m sprint, suicide run, and parameters of the WAnT (p > 0.05). These results emphasized the importance of anaerobic power in modern basketball, whereas anaerobic capacity does not seem to be a key aspect to consider. In this context, coaches are advised to avoid using exercises lasting >/=30 seconds in their physical fitness programs, but instead to focus on short and intense tests such as VJ, agility T test, and sprints over very short distances (5 or 10 m).  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of maximal aerobic power (V(.-)O2max peak) level on the ability to repeat sprints (calculated as performance decrement and total sprinting time) in young basketball players. Subjects were 18 junior, well-trained basketball players (age, 16.8 +/- 1.2 years; height, 181.3 +/- 5.7 cm; body mass, 73 +/- 10 kg; V(.-)O2max peak, 59.6 +/- 6.9 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1)). Match analysis and time-motion analysis of competitive basketball games was used to devise a basketball-specific repeated-sprint ability protocol consisting of ten 15-m shuttle run sprints with 30 s of passive recovery. Pre, post, and post plus 3-minute blood lactate concentrations were 2.5 +/- 0.7, 13.6 +/- 3.1, and 14.2 +/- 3.5 mmol x L(-1), respectively. The mean fatigue index (FI) value was 3.4 +/- 2.3% (range, 1.1-9.1%). No significant correlations were found between V(.-)O2max peak and either FI or total sprint time. A negative correlation (r = -0.75, p = 0.01) was found between first-sprint time and FI. The results of this study showed that V(.-)O2max peak is not a predictor of repeated-sprint ability in young basketball players. The high blood lactate concentrations found at the end of the repeated-sprint ability protocol suggest its use for building lactate tolerance in conditioned basketball players.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of 3 different rest intervals on the sustainability of squat and bench press repetitions over 5 consecutive sets performed with a 15 repetition maximum (RM)-load. Fifteen college-age men with previous resistance training experience were tested weekly over a period of 3 weeks. During each testing session, 5 consecutive sets of the squat and the bench press were performed with a 30-second, 1-minute, or 2-minute rest interval between sets. For each exercise, significant declines in repetitions occurred between the first and the fifth sets (p = 0.000). For the squat, a significant difference in the ability to sustain repetitions occurred between the 30-second and 2-minute rest condition (p = 0.003). However, differences were not significant between the 30-second and 1-minute rest conditions (p = 0.986) and between the 1-minute and 2-minute rest conditions (p = 0.042). For the bench press, significant differences in the ability to sustain repetitions occurred between the 30-second and 2-minute rest conditions (p = 0.000) and between the 1-minute and 2-minute rest conditions (p = 0.000). However, differences were not significant between the 30-second and 1-minute rest conditions (p = 0.019). For each exercise, the number of repetitions completed on the first set was not sustained over subsequent sets, irrespective of the rest condition. These results suggest that when short rest intervals are used to develop muscular endurance, the intensity should be lowered over subsequent sets to sustain repetitions within the range conducive to this training goal.  相似文献

Repeated sprint testing is gaining popularity in team sports, but the methods of data analysis and relationships to speed and endurance qualities are not well described. We compared three different methods for analyzing repeated sprint test results, and we quantified relationships between repeated sprints, short sprints, and endurance test scores. Well-trained male junior Australian Football players (n = 60, age 18.1 +/- 0.4 years, height 1.88 +/- 0.07 m, mass 82.0 +/- 8.1 kg; mean +/- SD) completed a 6 x 30-m repeated sprint running test on a 20-second cycle, a 20-m sprint test (short sprint), and the 20-m multistage shuttle run for endurance. Repeated sprint results were evaluated in three ways: total time for all six sprints (TOTAL), percent change from predicted times (PRED) from the fastest 30-m sprint time, and percent change from first to last sprint (CHANGE). We observed a very large decrement (CHANGE 6.3 +/- 0.7%, mean +/- 90% confidence limits) in 30-m performance from the first to last sprint (4.16 +/- 0.10 to 4.42 +/- 0.11 seconds, mean +/- SD). Results from TOTAL were highly correlated with 20-m sprint and 20-m multistage shuttle run tests. Performance decrements calculated by PRED were highly correlated with TOTAL (r = 0.91), but neither method was directly comparable with CHANGE (r = -0.23 and r = 0.12 respectively). TOTAL was moderately correlated with fastest 20-m sprint time (r = 0.66) but not the 20-m multistage shuttle run (r = -0.20). Evaluation of repeated sprint testing is sensitive to the method of data analysis employed. The total sprint time and indices of the relative decrement in performance are not directly interchangeable. Repeated sprint ability seems more related to short sprint qualities than endurance fitness.  相似文献

We investigated the relationship of efficiency in the application of the ESIN method of intramedullary osteosynthesis and other active surgical methods in the treatment of diaphyseal fractures of long bones in children and adolescents. The study comprised 100 subjects treated by elastic stable intramedullary osteosynthesis (ESIN - group A) and 50 subjects in whom other active surgical methods were applied (group B). The following criteria of efficiency of treatment were applied: 1. length of perioperative hospitalization, 2. time elapsed since the operation until the beginning of loading of the traumatized extremity, 3. time elapsed since the operation until the full loading of the extremity, i.e. until the recovery of the fracture, 4. incidence of complications, 5. number of post-operative outpatient clinical visits until the recovery of the fracture and 6. overall number of X-ray images of the fractured bone since the accident until the coalescence of the fracture. The results obtained in both groups were compared. 1. The length of perioperative hospitalization is shorter in patients in whom ESIN method was applied. The difference between arithmetic means was 4.45 days and is statistically significant (p < 0.001). 2. The time between the operation until the beginning of loading of the extremity is shorter in patients subjected to ESIN method of osteosynthesis, the difference of mean values being 23.49 days and is statistically significant (p < 0.001). 3. The time between the operation until the full loading of the extremity is shorter in patients subjected to ESIN method of osteosynthesis, the difference being 16.6 days and is statistically significant (p < 0.001). 4. The number of complications in patients treated by the ESIN method of osteosynthesis is not statistically different from that in group B (chi2 = 0.25, p = 0.62). 5. In postoperative period there were fewer outpatient controls in patients to whom ESIN method of osteosynthesis was applied, and the difference is statistically significant (Z = 7.69, p < 0.001). 6. Likewise, the overall number of X-ray controls was lesser (Z = 8.06, p < 0.001). The results of examining the above parameters point to a greater efficiency of treating diaphyseal fractures of long bones in children and adolescents by the ESIN method of osteosynthesis, compared to other active surgical methods.  相似文献

Blood lactate production and recovery from anaerobic exercise were investigated in 19 trained (AG) and 6 untrained (CG) prepubescent boys. The exercises comprised 3 maximal test performances; 2 bicycle ergometer tests of different durations (15 s and 60 s), and running on a treadmill for 23.20 +/- 2.61 min to measure maximal oxygen uptake. Blood samples were taken from the fingertip to determine lactate concentrations and from the antecubital vein to determine serum testosterone. Muscle biopsies were obtained from vastus lateralis. Recovery was passive (seated) following the 60 s test but that following the treadmill run was initially active (10 min), and then passive. Peak blood lactate was highest following the 60 s test (AG, 13.1 +/- 2.6 mmol.1-1 and CG, 12.8 +/- 2.3 mmol.1-1). Following the 15 s test and the treadmill run, peak lactate values were 68.7 and 60.6% of the 60 s value respectively. Blood lactate production was greater (p less than 0.001) during the 15 s test (0.470 +/- 0.128 mmol.1-1.s-1) than during the 60 s test (0.184 +/- 0.042 mmol.1-1.s-1). Although blood lactate production was only nonsignificantly greater in AG, the amount of anaerobic work in the short tests was markedly greater (p less than 0.05-0.01) in AG than CG. Muscle fibre area (type II%) and serum testosterone were positively correlated (p less than 0.05) with blood lactate production in both short tests. Blood lactate elimination was greater (p less than 0.001) at the end of the active recovery phase than in the next (passive) phase.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the effect of short-sprint repetition and long-sprint repetition training (SST, LST), matched for total distance, on selected fitness components in young soccer players. Thirty young (14-15 years) soccer players were randomly assigned to either the short-sprint training group or long-sprint training group and completed 2 similar sets of fitness tests before and after 7 weeks of training. The 2 training programs consisted of SST (4-6 sets of 4 × 50-m all-out sprint) and LST (4-6 sets of 200-m run at 85% of maximum speed), each performed 3 times a week. Before training, there were no baseline between-group differences in predicted VO2max, standing long jump, 30-m sprint time, 4 × 10-m shuttle running time, and 250-m running time. Both training programs led to a significant improvement in VO2max (predicted from the 20-m shuttle run, p < 0.01), with no between-group difference (p = 0.14). Both training programs also led to a significant improvement in the anaerobic fitness variables of 30-m sprint time (p < 0.01), 4 × 10-m shuttle running time (p < 0.01), and 250-m running time (p < 0.01), with no between-group differences. Neither of the training programs had a significant effect on standing long jump (p = 0.21). The study showed that long, near-maximal sprints, and short, all-out sprint training, matched for total distance, are equally effective in enhancing both the aerobic and anaerobic fitness of young soccer players. Therefore, to maintain a player's training interest and enthusiasm, coaches may alternate between these methods during the busy soccer season.  相似文献

It is unclear if a constant sprint-to-rest ratio allows full performance recovery between repeated sprints over different distances. This is important for the development of sprint-training programs. Additionally, there is conflicting evidence on whether active recovery enhances sprint performance. Three repeated sprint protocols were used (22 × 15, 13 × 30, and 8 × 50 m), with each having an active and passive recovery. Each trial was conducted with an initial sprint-to-rest ratio of 1:10. Repeated sprints were analyzed by comparing the first sprint to the last sprint. For the 15-m trials, there were no significant main effects for recovery or time and no significant interaction. For the 30-m trials, there was no main effect for recovery, but a main effect for time (F[1,10] = 15.995, p = 0.003; mean difference = 0.20 seconds, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.09-0.31 seconds, d = 1.4 [large effect]). There was no interaction of recovery and time in the 30-m trials. For the 50-m trials, there was no main effect for recovery, but a main effect for time (F[1,10] = 34.225, p = 0.0002; mean difference = 0.39 seconds, 95% CI = 0.24-0.55 seconds, d = 1.3 [large effect]). There was no interaction of recovery and time in the 50-m trials. The results demonstrate that a 1:10 sprint-to-rest ratio allows full performance recovery between 15-m sprints, but not between sprints of 30 or 50 m, and that recovery mode did not influence repeated sprint performance.  相似文献

A decrease in blood hydrogen ions (H) may allow for the recovery of a muscle, which should allow for greater performance in subsequent activity. The purpose of this study was to determine which of 3 forms of recovery were the most effective after an inning of pitching in baseball. Three different measurements were used to determine which recovery method was most effective; the difference in blood lactate (BLa) levels was used as a biological measurement, average pitching speed was the physiological measurement, and the psychological measurement was done on how the pitchers perceived their pitching and recovery. The recovery methods that were used were passive recovery (PR), active recovery (AR), and electromuscular stimulation (EMS). Seven college men aged 21 (±2 years) who were National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II college baseball pitchers were assessed during game play simulations. Blood lactate levels decreased significantly from the premeasurement to the postmeasurement with the EMS recovery method (p < 0.0005); however, BLa did not change for PR (p = 0.017) or AR (p = 0.134). Perceived recovery was also found to be best in the EMS and PR conditions. These findings suggest that EMS is an effective recovery method between innings of pitching.  相似文献

A number of studies have investigated the efficacy of several repetitions of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching (PNF) and static stretching (SS). However, there is limited research comparing the effects of a single bout of these stretching maneuvers. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of a single bout of a therapist-applied 30-second SS vs. a single bout of therapist-applied 6-second hamstring (agonist) contract PNF. Forty-five healthy subjects between the ages of 21 and 35 were randomly allocated to 1 of the 2 stretching groups or a control group, in which no stretching was received. The flexibility of the hamstring was determined by a range of passive knee extension, measured using a universal goniometer, with the subject in the supine position and the hip at 90° flexion, before and after intervention. A significant increase in knee extension was found for both intervention groups after a single stretch (SS group = 7.53°, p < 0.01 and PNF group = 11.80°, p < 0.01). Both interventions resulted in a significantly greater increase in knee extension when compared to the control group (p < 0.01). The PNF group demonstrated significantly greater gains in knee extension compared to the SS group (mean difference 4.27°, p < 0.01). It can be concluded that a therapist applied SS or PNF results in a significant increase in hamstring flexibility. A hamstring (agonist) contract PNF is more effective than an SS in a single stretching session. These findings are important to physiotherapists or trainers working in clinical and sporting environments. Where in the past therapists may have spent time conducting multiple repetitions of a PNF and an SS, a single bout of either technique may be considered just as effective. A key component of the study methodology was the exclusion of a warm-up period before stretching. Therefore, the findings of efficacy of a single PNF are of particular relevance in sporting environments and busy clinical settings where time may be limited.  相似文献

A large number of team sports require athletes to repeatedly produce maximal or near maximal sprint efforts of short duration interspersed with longer recovery periods of submaximal intensity. This type of team sport activity can be characterized as prolonged, high-intensity, intermittent running (PHIIR). The primary purpose of the present study was to determine the physiological factors that best relate to a generic PHIIR simulation that reflects team sport running activity. The second purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between common performance tests and the generic PHIIR simulation. Following a familiarization session, 16 moderately trained (VO2max = 40.0 +/- 4.3 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1)) women team sport athletes performed various physiological, anthropometrical, and performance tests and a 30-minute PHIIR sport simulation on a nonmotorized treadmill. The mean heart rate and blood lactate concentration during the PHIIR sport simulation were 164 +/- 6 b x min(-1) and 8.2 +/- 3.3 mmol x L(-1), respectively. Linear regression demonstrated significant relationships between the PHIIR sport simulation distance and running velocity attained at a blood lactate concentration of 4 mmol x L(-1) (LT) (r = 0.77, p < 0.05), 5 x 6-second repeated cycle sprint work (r = 0.56, p < 0.05), 30-second Wingate test (r = 0.61, p < 0.05), peak aerobic running velocity (Vmax) (r = 0.69, p < 0.05), and Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (Yo-Yo IR1) distance (r = 0.50, p < 0.05), respectively. These results indicate that an increased LT is associated with improved PHIIR performance and that PHIIR performance may be monitored by determining Yo-Yo IR1 performance, 5 x 6-second repeated sprint cycle test work, 30-second Wingate test performance, Vmax, or LT. We suggest that training programs should focus on improving both LT and Vmax for increasing PHIIR performance in moderately trained women. Future studies should examine optimal training methods for improving these capacities in team sport athletes.  相似文献

This study examined the effects of individual characteristics and contextual factors on training load, pre-game recovery and game performance in adult male semi-professional basketball. Fourteen players were monitored, across a whole competitive season, with the session-RPE method to calculate weekly training load, and the Total Quality Recovery Scale to obtain pre-game recovery scores. Additionally, game-related statistics were gathered during official games to calculate the Performance Index Rating (PIR). Individual characteristics and contextual factors were grouped using k-means cluster analyses. Separate mixed linear models for repeated measures were performed to evaluate the single and combined (interaction) effects of individual characteristics (playing experience; playing position; playing time) and contextual factors (season phase; recovery cycle; previous game outcome; previous and upcoming opponent level) on weekly training load, pre-game recovery and PIR. Weekly load was higher in guards and medium minute-per-game (MPG) players, and lower for medium-experienced players, before facing high-level opponents, during later season phases and short recovery cycles (all p < 0.05). Pre-game recovery was lower in centers and high-experience players (p < 0.05). Game performance was better in high-MPG players (p < 0.05) and when facing low and medium-level opponents (p < 0.001). Interestingly, players performed better in games when the previous week’s training load was low (p = 0.042). This study suggests that several individual characteristics and contextual factors need to be considered when monitoring training load (playing experience, playing position, playing time, recovery cycle, upcoming opponent level), recovery (playing experience, playing position) and game performance (opponent level, weekly training load, pre-game recovery) in basketball players during the competitive season.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Burden, RJ and Glaister, M. The effects of ionized and nonionized compression garments on sprint and endurance cycling. J Strength Cond Res 26(10): 2837-2843, 2012-The aim of this study was to examine the effects of ionized and nonionized compression tights on sprint and endurance cycling performance. Using a randomized, blind, crossover design, 10 well-trained male athletes (age: 34.6 ± 6.8 years, height: 1.80 ± 0.05 m, body mass: 82.2 ± 10.4 kg, V[Combining Dot Above]O2max: 50.86 ± 6.81 ml·kg·min) performed 3 sprint trials (30-second sprint at 150% of the power output required to elicit V[Combining Dot Above]O2max [pV[Combining Dot Above]O2max] + 3 minutes recovery at 40% pV[Combining Dot Above]O2max + 30-second Wingate test + 3 minutes recovery at 40% pV[Combining Dot Above]O2max) and 3 endurance trials (30 minutes at 60% pV[Combining Dot Above]O2max + 5 minutes stationary recovery + 10-km time trial) wearing nonionized compression tights, ionized compression tights, or standard running tights (control). There was no significant effect of garment type on key Wingate measures of peak power (grand mean: 1,164 ± 219 W, p = 0.812), mean power (grand mean: 716 ± 68 W, p = 0.800), or fatigue (grand mean: 66.5 ± 6.9%, p = 0.106). There was an effect of garment type on blood lactate in the sprint and the endurance trials (p < 0.05), although post hoc tests only detected a significant difference between the control and the nonionized conditions in the endurance trial (mean difference: 0.55 mmol·L, 95% likely range: 0.1-1.1 mmol·L). Relative to control, oxygen uptake (p = 0.703), heart rate (p = 0.774), and time trial performance (grand mean: 14.77 ± 0.74 minutes, p = 0.790) were unaffected by either type of compression garment during endurance cycling. Despite widespread use in sport, neither ionized nor nonionized compression tights had any significant effect on sprint or endurance cycling performance.  相似文献

This in vitro study evaluated the effects of four different muscle-loading ratios on active glenohumeral joint abduction. Eight cadaveric shoulders were tested using a shoulder simulator designed to reproduce unconstrained abduction of the humerus via computer-controlled pneumatic actuation. Forces were applied to cables that were sutured to tendons or fixed to bone, to simulate loading of the supraspinatus, subscapularis, infraspinatus/teres minor, and anterior, middle, and posterior deltoid muscles. Four sets of muscle-loading ratios were employed, based on: (1) equal loads, (2) average physiological cross-sectional areas (pCSAs), (3) constant values of the product of electromyographic (EMG) data and pCSAs, and (4) variable ratios of the EMG and pCSA data which changed as a function of abduction angle. The investigator generated passive motions with no muscle loads simulated. Repeatability was quantified by five successive trials of the passive and simulated active motions. There was improved repeatability in the simulated active motions versus passive motions, significant for abduction angles less than 40 degrees (p=0.02). No difference was found in the repeatability of the four different muscle-loading ratios for simulated active motions (p0.067 for all angles). The improved repeatability of active over passive motion suggests simulated active motion should be employed for in vitro simulations of shoulder motion.  相似文献

Da Silva-Grigoletto, ME, de Hoyo, M, Sa?udo, B, Corrales, L, and García-Manso, JM. Determining the optimal whole-body vibration dose-response relationship for muscle performance. J Strength Cond Res 25(12): 3326-3333, 2011-The aim of this investigation was twofold: first, to determine the optimal duration of a single whole-body vibration (WBV) exposure (phase 1) and second to find out the ideal number of sets per intervention to maximize muscle performance (phase 2). All participants were young (age: 19.4 ± 1.6 years), healthy, physically active men. In both studies, a 30-Hz frequency and a 4-mm peak-to-peak displacement were used. In phase 1, subjects (n = 30) underwent 3 sets of different durations (30, 60, and 90 seconds), whereas in phase 2, subjects (n = 27) underwent 3 interventions where the duration remained fixed at 60 seconds, and the number of sets performed (3, 6, or 9) was modified. The recovery time between sets was set at 2 minutes. In all interventions, each set consisted of 1 isometric repetition in a squat position with knees flexed at 100°. Before and after each session, jump height (countermovement jump [CMJ] and squat jump [SJ]) and power output in half squat (90° knee flexion) were assessed. In phase 1, an improvement in jump ability and power output was observed after the 30- and 60-second intervention (p < 0.01), whereas the 90 second intervention, participants just experienced a decrease in SJ and CMJ (p < 0.05). When comparing the different protocols, the greatest response was achieved using 60 seconds (p < 0.05), which was therefore considered as the optimal duration to be used in phase 2. In the second phase, improvements in jump ability and power output were found with 3 and 6 sets (p < 0.05), whereas with 9 sets, participants actually experienced a decrease in these variables. Intergroup comparison showed a greater effect for the program of 6 sets (p < 0.05). In conclusion, a WBV intervention consisting of six 60-second sets produces improved muscle performance measured by SJ, CMJ, and power output.  相似文献

To investigate the relationships between race performance and parameters at the optimal power output for lactate removal, 10 male triathletes were examined. Exercise intensities for lactate removal were defined by calculating 50% of difference (DeltaT) between running velocity (V(r)) at individual anaerobic threshold (IAT) and at individual ventilatory threshold (IVT), then choosing 3 V(r): at IVT plus 50% DeltaT (IVT(+50%DeltaT)), at IVT, and at IVT minus 50% DeltaT (IVT(-50%DeltaT)). After a 6-minute treadmill run at 75% of difference between IAT and V(.-)O2max, all triathletes performed a 30-minute active recovery run at IVT(+50%DeltaT), IVT, and IVT(-50%DeltaT). Capillary blood lactate was determined at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 20, 25, and 30 minutes of recovery. The IVT(-50%DeltaT) recovery was the most efficient V(r) for lactate removal. Running velocities at IVT and IVT(-50%DeltaT) were highly (p < 0.01) related to cycle, run, and overall race time. V(.-)O2max values at IAT, IVT(+50%DeltaT), and IVT were less (p < 0.05) related to split and overall race time. The variable most related to overall race time, as determined by stepwise multiple linear regression analysis, was the V(r) at IVT(-50%DeltaT) (r = 0.87, p = 0.001). The R(2) value of 0.76 indicated that V(r) at IVT(-50%DeltaT) could account for 76% of the variance in triathlon race time. This study shows that the race performances of triathletes are highly related to the V(r) at which the most efficient lactate removal (IVT(-50%DeltaT)) occurs. These findings suggest that the assessment of V(r) at IVT and IAT (from which V(r) at IVT(-50%DeltaT) are calculated) may be a useful method for monitoring training-induced adaptations and performance improvements in athletes who participate in Olympic triathlons.  相似文献

It is shown that a long experience of defeats in daily zoosocial collisions (ZC) elicits changes in the structure of submissive behaviour. Male mice of C57BL/6J line after 20 defeats demonstrated poses of passive subordination instead of active defence and run away which they manifested in the first ZC. Moreover, new immobile poses appeared which were rare in the first ZC. Submissive animals (CA) demonstrated a decrease of travels in the open field test and an increase of immobility time in the Porsolt test. Chronic administration of imipramine (10 mg/kg, i.p., twice a day during two weeks against the background of repeated ZC) prevented an increase of depressivity, estimated in Porsolt test. Changes were noted in the content of serotonin and 5-HIAA in some brain structures of subordinated mice in comparison to control animals (five days of isolation). The data are discussed from a position of the development of depression in SA of C57BL/6J line as a result of a long nonavoided zoosocial stress.  相似文献
