Protein A content in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from 6 species of monkeys at the Sukhumi Monkey Nursery has been studied. Protein A has been detected in 73% of the studied strains. One strain isolated from a rhesus macaque has been found to release high amounts of protein A into the environment.  相似文献

The serological specificity of the neutral polysaccharide possessing extraordinarily strong adjuvanticity originally isolated from the culture supernatant of Klebsiella K1 strain Kasuya has been investigated. Among all of the reference strains (K1-K82) of Klebsiella obtained from the International Escherichia and Klebsiella Center, Statens Seruminstitut, Copenhagen, only 13 strains have been shown to produce the adjuvant polysaccharide by the passive hemagglutination inhibition test. All of these 13 strains belong to the O3 group, and the strains which belong to other O groups of which were not identifiable did not produce it. The gel precipitation test has demonstrated that the adjuvant polysaccharide is antigenically identical to O3 antigen isolated from the cells of the decapsulated mutant (strain LEN 1) of Klebsiella K1 strain Kasuya and to O9 antigen of Escherichia coli isolated from either the culture supernatant or the cells, which has already been shown to be antigenically and structurally identical to the O3 antigen of Klebsiella.  相似文献

A strain of Stachybotrys chartarum was recently isolated from the lung of a pulmonary hemorrhage and hemosiderosis (PH) patient in Texas (designated the Houston strain). This is the first time that S. chartarum has been isolated from the lung of a PH patient. In this study, the Houston strain and 10 strains of S. chartarum isolated from case (n = 5) or control (n = 5) homes in Cleveland were analyzed for hemolytic activity, siderophore production, and relatedness as measured by random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis.  相似文献

A mutant Hfr strain of Escherichia coli which has an impaired incompatibility function but is normal for other F factor functions has been isolated. This Inc(-) Hfr permits the maintenance and transfer of both the integrated F factor and an F' factor. F' factors have been isolated from the integrated F factor of the Inc(-) Hfr strain. When these episomes were tested in matings with Hfr or F' strains, they did not differ in any observed way from wild-type F' factors.  相似文献

The bacteria of genera Pseudomonas oxidizing maleic, fumaric, italic acids and their anhydrides in sewage of industry of maleic anhydride have been isolated from active sludge. During the autoselection a strain of P. stutzeri 832 capable to oxidize 12.5 - 25.0 g/l of maleic acid on 90 - 70% correspondingly in 3 days has been isolated. Destructive activity of isolated strain was retained after 5-year storage in lyophylized state and under vaseline oil.  相似文献

Immune serum from rabbit has been obtained against Campylobacter jejuni ATCC no 29428 from the same strain an antigen of the outer Envelope was prepared by EDTA extraction. The specificity of antibodies against the outer antigen has been observed by direct agglutination, C.F., passive haemoagglutination and houcherlony test in agar. In eight other strains of Campylobacter isolated from patients, cross reactions with the ATCC no 29428 strain have been stored, by direct agglutination: only one strain (H) cross-reacted with the immune serum in use.  相似文献

Bacteriocins formed by four strains of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis have been studied and compared: 729 (a natural strain isolated from milk), 1605 (a mutant of strain 729), F-116 (a recombinant obtained by fusing of protoplasts of the two related strain 729 and 1605), and a nisin-forming strain obtained by adaptive selection at Moscow State University. Antimicrobial activity studies revealed differences between the strains in the effects on individual groups of microorganisms; the activities of the strains were also distinct from that of Nisaplin (a commercial preparation of the bacteriocin nisin). Methods for isolation and purification of bacteriocins have been developed, making it possible to obtain individual components of antibiotic complexes as chromatographically pure preparations. Bacteriocins formed by the strains of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis have been identified and differences in their biological and physicochemical properties, established. A novel potent broad-spectrum antibiotic substance distinct from nisin has been isolated from the recombinant strain F-116.  相似文献

A new strain of equine herpesvirus type 8 (EHV-8), Wh, has been isolated from horses in China, and its complete genome has been sequenced and analyzed. The result indicates that the new strain has the same constitution and arrangement of open read frames as EHV-1 and EHV-9. A strain of Psuedomonas desmoliticum has been isolated from soil. It utilizes, as a source of carbon and energy, p-aminobenozic (PABA), p-fluorobenzoic acids, and some other aromatic compounds. The strain has been isolated by inoculating soil suspensions onto Petri plates with a solid mineral medium containing 0.1% PABA as a carbon source. The preparatory metabolism of PABA was studied in this work; p-hydroxybenzoic and protocatechuic acids were found to be its intermediate products. Enzyme systems catalysing oxidation of aromatic compounds and glucose are inducible.  相似文献

A "neutral" polymer of glucose, galactose, and 2-acetamido-2-deoxyglucose (molar ratios 1:1:2) has been isolated from the lipopolysaccharide of Serratia marcescens strain C.D.C. 1783-57 (O14:H9). Degradative and spectroscopic studies established that the polysaccharide has a branched tetrasaccharide repeating-unit of the structure shown. The polymer was absent from other strains of serogroup O14 studied, but a polymer differing only in the configuration of the glucose residue has previously been isolated from a strain of S. marcescens O8. The polymer from strain C.D.C. 1783-57 also shares structural features with the Escherichia coli O18 antigen, which is known to be serologically related to the S. marcescens O8 antigen. 通过PCR方法克隆了从哈尔滨分离的一株鸡贫血病毒(CAV)的全基因,并对其进行了测序,该病毒基因组为环状,全长2298bp,含有三个互相重叠的开放读码框和一个调控区。将克隆的基因与GenBank收录的CAV基因比较,同源性至少为97%,未发现与本次克隆的CAV基因完全一致的分离株。与德国分离株Cuxla、26p4和马来西亚分离株分别有42、42和72个核苷酸不同,同源性分别为98.2%、98.2%和96.9%。与德国分离株Cux1b相比,除在调控区内少一个类似增强子的重复序列外,尚有39处核苷酸不同。它与分离于欧洲的几株CAV的亲源性要比来自亚洲的马来西亚株近。对CAV哈尔滨分离株、26p4、Cux1b、Cux1a和马来西亚株的VP1、VP2和VP3蛋白比较,VP2的保守性最高。  相似文献

This strain has been studied and variants have been isolated. A strain designated TFA which very efficiently utilizes tetralin has been isolated from the Rhine river. The strain has been identified as Sphingomonas macrogoltabidus, based on 16S rDNA sequence similarity. Genetic analysis of tetralin biodegradation has been performed by insertion mutagenesis and by physical analysis and analysis of complementation between the mutants. The genes involved in tetralin utilization are clustered in a region of 9 kb, comprising at least five genes grouped in two divergently transcribed operons.  相似文献

A new bacterial strain capable of chlorobenzene degradation has been isolated from sludge of an industrial wastewater treatment plant. The micro-organism is short, rod-shaped, Gram-negative, yellow-pigmented and has been identified as Escherichia hermanii. It was observed that high chlorobenzene concentrations (up to 394 mg l-1) had low toxic effects towards this strain, which was able to degrade chlorobenzene without any previous adaptation.  相似文献

Summary Eighteen nutritional mutants have been isolated in the haploid, monoecious moss, Physcomitrella patens: five nicotinic acid auxotrophs, four p-aminobenzoic acid auxotrophs, four adenine auxotrophs, two amino acid requiring mutants and three nitrate non-utilising mutants. Seventeen of them were obtained using total isolation; one was isolated selectively. Strains resistant to the amino acid analogues, D-serine and p-fluorophenyl-alanine, and the purine analogue, 8-azaguanine, have been selected. Many of the auxotrophs are self-sterile. Crosses between auxotrophic strains have been effected and the progeny analysed. No linkage has been detected. Nicotinic acid auxotrophy has resulted from mutation in at least two genes. Self-sterility segregates as a pleiotropic effect of four mutations which produce nutritional dependence. A diploid strain has been obtained by aposporus regeneration from a hybrid sporophyte and the phenotypes of progeny resulting from the self-fertilisation of this strain have been analysed.  相似文献
