The effects of dietary n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids on lipoprotein concentrations and on lipoprotein lipase (LPL), hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) and lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) activities were studied in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats during pregnancy and in their macrosomic offspring from birth to adulthood. Pregnant diabetic and control rats were fed Isio-4 diet (vegetable oil) or EPAX diet (concentrated marine omega-3 EPA/DHA oil), the same diets were consumed by pups at weaning. Compared with control rats, diabetic rats showed, during pregnancy, a significant elevation in very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and low and high density lipoprotein (LDL-HDL(1))-triglyceride, cholesterol and apoprotein B100 concentrations and a reduction in apoprotein A-I levels. HTGL activity was high while LPL and LCAT activities were low in these rats. The macrosomic pups of Isio-4-fed diabetic rats showed a significant enhancement in triglyceride and cholesterol levels at birth and during adulthood with a concomitant increase in lipase and LCAT activities. EPAX diet induces a significant diminution of VLDL and LDL-HDL(1) in mothers and in their macrosomic pups, accompanied by an increase in cholesterol and apoprotein A-I levels in HDL(2-3) fraction. It also restores LPL, HTGL and LCAT activities to normal range. EPAX diet ameliorates considerably lipoprotein disorders in diabetic mothers and in their macrosomic offspring.  相似文献

The effects of saturated and polyunsaturated dietary fat on the lipolytic activity of post-heparin plasma, lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) were studied in the rat. The lipolytic activity was studied from 0 to 60 min using labelled chylomicrons as the substrate. Triacylglycerol hydrolysis rate was higher for the plasma of rats fed high fat diets (14% fat by weight). Chylomicrons of rats fed saturated or unsaturated fats were hydrolyzed at the same rate within the first 15 min but afterwards hydrolysis of chylomicrons of rats fed saturated fat was slower. The activities of LPL and HTGL were increased by high fat diets. Unsaturated fat increased more LPL activity than saturated fat conversely, HTGL activity was enhanced more by saturated fat than by unsaturated fat.  相似文献

Hepatic lipase (HL) and lipoprotein lipase (LPL) were assayed in heparinized plasma from male normocholesterolaemic (SW) and genetically hypercholesterolaemic (RICO) rats. Both strains were fed on either a semi-purified control diet or the same diet enriched with 0.5% or 1% cholesterol. HL activity was similar in both groups of rats fed on the control diet. LPL activity was found to be significantly lower in RICO rats (35% decrease, P less than 0.05). Feeding with a high-cholesterol diet led to a decrease in HL activity (15-23%) in both groups of rats but no change was detected in LPL activity, which remained consistently lower in the RICO rats. Thus, with the control diet, LPL activity is lower in RICO rats but presumably is not rate-limiting for their triacylglycerol clearance, given the normal triacylglycerol levels present. After cholesterol feeding, however, the lower LPL activity may become rate-limiting together with the decrease in HL activity, as in these circumstances hypertriacylglycerolaemia was evident and the hypercholesterolaemia of this strain was further increased.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine how lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic triacylglycerol lipase (HTGL) activity relate to serum adiponectin levels. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: Fifty-five hyperlipidemic Japanese men were recruited for this study. LPL and HTGL activity in post-heparin plasma (PHP) was measured using Triton X-100 emulsified-[14C] triolein. The remaining activity in the presence of 1M NaCl was defined as HTGL activity. Serum adiponectin levels were determined by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay system. RESULT: LPL activity had a positive relationship with HDL2, but had no relation with HDL3, while HTGL had positive relationship with HDL3, but had no relationship with HDL2. LPL activity showed a positive relationship [r = 0.345, p = 0.010] to serum adiponectin levels, while and HTGL activity showed an inverse relationship [r = - 0.365 p = 0.006]. Multiple regression analysis with LPL and HTGL as dependent variables and age, BMI, serum adiponectin and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) as independent variables showed LPL and HTGL's association to adiponectin did not persist after adjustments for these covariants. However, the association of LPL activity to HOMA-IR was found to persist after adjustments of age, BMI, and serum adiponectin. CONCLUSIONS: There was a co-linearity between insulin sensitivity and adiponectin as well as insulin sensitivity and LPL/HTGL activity.  相似文献

The mechanism by which alcohol increases plasma total high density lipoproteins (HDLs) and HDL-cholesterol is unknown, but it may involve modulation of the lipolytic enzymes, hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) and/or lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in hepatic and extrahepatic tissues. The modulation of HDL metabolism by alcohol may also be related to its potential to induce mixed function oxidases in liver microsomes. These possibilities were examined by a pair-feeding protocol in which rats were fed diets with 35% of the caloric content as ethanol; control groups received a diet with an isocaloric amount of sucrose or were fed chow ad libitum. Alcohol caused a significant decrease in HTGL activity of liver microsomes, but there was no significant effect of alcohol upon the activities of LPL in adipose tissue and heart muscle. The relative rates of mixed function oxidases, assayed in control liver microsomes using ethoxy-,pentoxy- and benzyloxy-resorufin as substrates, were benzyloxy greater than ethoxy greater than pentoxy. This order was not affected by alcohol, but the oxidation of ethoxy- and pentoxyresorufin was reduced in liver microsomes from the ethanol-fed group. HTGL synthesis and secretion were also measured using primary rat hepatocyte cultures isolated from animals on the above dietary regimes and maintained for up to 3 days in basal medium alone or supplemented with 10 mmol/l ethanol. In basal media the order of activity of extracellular HTGL, released by the addition of heparin, was sucrose-fed greater than chow-fed greater than ethanol-fed. The role of glucagon in regulating the lipoprotein lipase activities of rat heart and adipose tissue was examined. When starved rats were fed glucose, heart lipoprotein lipase activity decreased while that of adipose tissue increased. Glucagon administration to these animals at the time of glucose feeding prevented the decline in heart lipoprotein lipase activity, but had no effect on the adipose tissue enzyme. When glucagon was administered to fed rats, heart lipoprotein lipase activity increased to levels found in starved animals but there was no change in the adipose tissue enzyme. It is suggested that the reciprocal lipoprotein lipase activities in heart and adipose tissue of fed and starved animals may be regulated by the circulating plasma insulin and glucagon concentrations.  相似文献

The aims of our study were to investigate the effect of dietary palm oil on the levels of lipoprotein lipase, hepatic lipase, fat distribution (in the aorta and liver), and total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triacylglycerol levels in young rats (70 g body wt) over a period of 10 weeks. Palm oil-fed rats showed higher growth rate and lower triacylglycerol levels than the control group. Hepatic lipase activity was correlated to the liver fat distribution (correlation coefficient, r = +0.682) as seen by histopathological sections and was similar for both the palm oil and the control diets. Palm oil-fed rats exhibited a significantly higher HDL cholesterol to total plasma cholesterol ratio when compared to animals fed the control diet. The triacylglycerol levels correlated inversely to the HDL cholesterol levels (r = -0.536) while the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity correlated directly to the LDL level (r = +0.617) for both groups of animals. The fatty acid profiles of adipose and liver tissues and plasma revealed that saturated fatty acids--palmitic and stearic--were preferentially incorporated in liver and adipose tissues and less in the plasma. This accounts for lack of deposition in the arterial wall and for the antithrombotic tendency of palm oil. Thus, our present findings suggest that dietary palm oil may not contribute to the risk for coronary heart disease.  相似文献

A large family is reported with familial hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) deficiency and with the coexistence of reduced lipoprotein lipase (LPL) similar to the heterozygote state of LPL deficiency. The proband was initially detected because of hypertriglyceridemia and chylomicronemia. He was later demonstrated to have beta-VLDL despite an apo E3/E3 phenotype and the lack of stigmata of type III hyperlipoproteinemia. The proband had no HTGL activity in postheparin plasma. Two of his half-sisters had very low HTGL activity (39 and 31 nmol free fatty acids/min/ml; normal adult female greater than 44). His son and daughters had decreased HTGL activity (normal male and preadolescent female greater than 102), which would be expected in obligate heterozygotes for HTGL deficiency. Low HTGL activity was associated with LDL particles which were larger and more buoyant. Several family members, including the proband, had reduced LPL activity and mass less than that circumscribed by the 95% confidence-interval ellipse for normal subjects and had hyperlipidemia similar to that described in heterozygote relatives of patients with LPL deficiency. All the sibs with hyperlipidemia had a reduced LPL activity and mass, while subjects with isolated reduced HTGL (with normal LPL activity) had normal lipid phenotypes. Analysis of genomic DNA from these subjects by restriction-enzyme digestion revealed no major abnormalities in the structure of either the HTGL or the LPL gene. Compound heterozygotes for HTGL and LPL deficiency show lipoprotein physiological characteristics typical for HTGL deficiency, while their variable lipid phenotype is typical for LPL deficiency.  相似文献

目的:研究有氧运动同时补充玉米肽对高脂饮食诱导的肥胖大鼠减脂的作用及其与脂肪分解关键酶甘油三酯脂肪酶(ATGL)和脂蛋白酯酶(LPL)关系。方法:4周龄健康雄性SD大鼠150只,体重160~180 g,随机选取15只作为普通膳食不运动组,给予普通饲料喂养。剩余135只大鼠进行8周的高脂饲料喂养建立肥胖大鼠模型,以体重超过普通膳食不运动组大鼠平均体重的20%作为肥胖大鼠建模成功的标准。将建模成功的肥胖大鼠40只随机分为5组(n=8):肥胖对照组、酪蛋白组、玉米肽组、运动组和运动+玉米肽组。除酪蛋白组、玉米肽组喂养自制饲料外,其余各组均用普通饲料喂养,运动组每天进行15 m/min,持续时间60 min的跑台运动,每周6天。4周运动和玉米肽干预后取血,检测大鼠血浆中TG、TC、HDL、LDL的含量;取大鼠肾周、附睾脂肪和肝,检测肾周和附睾脂肪的重量,Western blot检测大鼠肝ATGL、脂肪LPL的蛋白表达水平。结果:与肥胖对照组大鼠相比:①运动组、运动+玉米肽组大鼠的体重、附睾和肾周脂肪含量明显降低(P<0.05),且运动+玉米肽组比运动组下降得更明显(P<0.05),而其它组大鼠无显著差异。②运动组大鼠血浆TG显著降低,运动+玉米肽组的血浆TG、TC显著降低(P<0.05),其它组大鼠的TG、TC无显著差异;血浆HDL和LDL各组间均无显著性差异。③运动组和运动+玉米肽组大鼠的肝ATGL、脂肪组织LPL的蛋白水平明显增加(P<0.01),且运动+玉米肽组比运动组的更显著(P<0.05);其他两组无显著差异。结论:有氧运动、有氧运动同时补充玉米肽都可以明显降低大鼠的体脂和血脂水平,且后者的作用更强,这可能与其更显著地增加肥胖大鼠肝ATGL和脂肪LPL的蛋白水平有关。而仅仅补充玉米肽不能降低大鼠的体脂和血脂水平。  相似文献

The present study was undertaken to compare plasma lipoprotein lipid composition, as well as white adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase activity, in rats fed purified diets high in either sucrose or corn oil. The experimental diets (65% of calories as sucrose or corn oil, 15% as the opposite nutrient, and 20% as casein) were given ad libitum for 4 weeks. An additional group was fed a nonpurified diet as a reference diet. Both sucrose and oil diets were spontaneously consumed in isocaloric amounts by the animals. Despite energy intakes that were 35% lower than that of the reference group, the sucrose and oil groups exhibited final body weights that were only 6 and 9% lower, respectively, than that of the reference group, and accumulated more fat in the epididymal depots. Postprandial as well as fasting total cholesterol levels were similar in the sucrose and oil groups, while the high-density lipoprotein to total cholesterol ratio was highest in the animals fed corn oil. In both the fasted and fed states, plasma total triglyceride levels were 73% higher in the sucrose group than in the corn oil group. The largest triglyceride differences due to diet were observed in the chylomicron + very-low-density lipoprotein fraction. The oil-fed rats accumulated large amounts of triglycerides in their livers. We have developed a sandwich-enzyme immunoassay (EIA) for the quantification of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) in human postheparin plasma (PHP) using monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed against the corresponding enzymes purified from human PHP. The sandwich-EIA for LPL was performed by using the combination of two distinct types of anti-LPL MAbs that recognize different epitopes on the LPL molecule. The immunoreactive mass of LPL was specifically measured using a beta-galactosidase-labeled anti-LPL MAb as an enzyme-linked MAb, an anti-LPL MAb linked with the bacterial cell wall as an insolubilized MAb, and purified human PHP-LPL as a standard. The sandwich-EIA for HTGL was carried out by using two distinct anti-HTGL MAbs that recognize different epitopes on HTGL. The limit of detection was 20 ng/ml for LPL and 60 ng/ml for HTGL. Each method yielded a coefficient of variation of less than 6% in intra- and inter-assays, and a high concentration of triglyceride did not interfere with the assays. The average recovery of purified human PHP-LPL and -HTGL added to human PHP samples was 98.8% and 97.5%, respectively. The immunoreactive masses of LPL and HTGL in PHP samples, obtained at a heparin dose of 30 IU/kg, from 34 normolipidemic and 20 hypertriglyceridemic subjects were quantified by the sandwich-EIA. To assess the reliability of the measured mass values, they were compared with the corresponding enzyme activities measured by selective immunoinactivation assay using rabbit anti-human PHP-LPL and -HTGL polyclonal antisera. Both assay methods yielded a highly significant correlation in either normolipidemic (r = 0.945 for LPL; r = 0.932 for HTGL) or hypertriglyceridemic subjects (r = 0.989 for LPL; r = 0.954 for HTGL). The normal mean (+/- SD) level of lipoprotein lipase mass and activity in postheparin plasma was 223 +/- 66 ng/ml and 10.1 +/- 2.9 mumol/h per ml, and that of hepatic triglyceride lipase mass and activity was 1456 +/- 469 ng/ml and 26.4 +/- 8.7 mumol/h per ml, respectively. The present sandwich-enzyme immunoassay methods make it possible to study the molecular nature of LPL and HTGL in PHP from patients with either primary or secondary hyperlipoproteinemia.  相似文献

The effects of infant diet (breast milk or formula containing 2, 30 or 60 mg/dl cholesterol) and subsequent dietary cholesterol (0.02, 1.0 or 1.7 mg/kcal) and fat (saturated or unsaturated) on heparin-releasable lipolytic activity from omental adipose tissue was estimated from 99 baboons of 5-8 years of age. This lipase activity was characterized as lipoprotein lipase based on salt inhibition and apolipoprotein C-II activation. Lipoprotein lipase activity released from adipose tissue by heparin was significantly (P less than 0.002) lower in high cholesterol-fed baboons than in those fed low cholesterol. Most of this difference was due to impaired long-term heparin release of lipoprotein lipase. Adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase increased with increasing fat cell size regardless of diet, but there was no effect of diet on adipocyte size. There were no significant effects of infant cholesterol intake nor adult saturated or unsaturated fat on lipoprotein lipase activity. Adult baboons breast fed as infants had lower adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase activity (P less than 0.07) than adults fed formula as infants.  相似文献

Male squirrel monkeys were used to evaluate the effect of chronic oral nicotine intake on lipoprotein composition and metabolism. Eighteen yearling monkeys were divided into two groups: 1) Controls fed isocaloric liquid diet; and 2) Nicotine primates given liquid diet supplemented with nicotine at 6 mg/kg body wt/day. Animals were weighed biweekly, plasma lipid, glucose, and lipoprotein parameters were measured monthly, and detailed lipoprotein composition, along with postheparin plasma lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) activity, was assessed after 24 months of treatment. Although nicotine had no effect on plasma triglyceride or high density lipoproteins (HDL), the alkaloid caused a significant increase in plasma glucose, cholesterol, and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol plus protein while simultaneously reducing the HDL cholesterol/plasma cholesterol ratio and animal body weight. Levels of LDL precursors, very low density (VLDL) and intermediate density (IDL) lipoproteins, were also lower in nicotine-treated primates while total postheparin lipase (LPL + HTGL) activity was significantly elevated. Our data indicate that long-term consumption of oral nicotine induces an atherogenic lipoprotein profile (increases LDL, decreases HDL/total cholesterol ratio) by enhancing lipolytic conversion of VLDL to LDL. These results have important health implications for humans who use smokeless tobacco products or chew nicotine gum for prolonged periods.  相似文献

This work was designed to study the effect of different lipid sources on the activities of lipoprotein lipase and lipogenic enzymes in adipose tissue from rats fedad libitum or energy-controlled diets. Male Wistar rats were fed diets containing 40% of energy as fat (olive oil, sunflower oil, palm oil or beef tallow), for 4 wk. Underad libitum feeding no differences were found among dietary fat groups in final body weight, adipose tissue weights and total body fat. Under energy-controlled feeding, despite isoenergetic intake, rats fed the beef tallow diet gained significantly less weight than rats fed the other three diets. Beef tallow fed rats showed the lowest values for adipose tissue weights and total body fat. When rats had free access to food no effect of dietary lipid source on lipogenic enzyme activities was found. In contrast, under energy-controlled feeding rats fed the beef tallow diet showed significantly higher activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and fatty acid synthase than rats fed the other three diets. Heparin-releasable lipoprotein lipase activity in perirenal and subcutaneous adipose tissues was not different among rats fed olive oil, safflower oil, palm oil or beef tallow. When comparing both adipose tissue anatomical locations, significantly higher activities were found in subcutaneous than in perirenal fat pad independently of dietary fat. In conclusion, under our experimental protocol, lipogenesis in rat adipose tissue does not seem to be affected by dietary fat type.  相似文献

Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is believed to play an important role in the mobilization of fatty acids from triglycerides (TG), diglycerides, and cholesteryl esters in various tissues. Because HSL-mediated lipolysis of TG in adipose tissue (AT) directly feeds non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) into the vascular system, the enzyme is expected to affect many metabolic processes including the metabolism of plasma lipids and lipoproteins. In the present study we examined these metabolic changes in induced mutant mouse lines that lack HSL expression (HSL-ko mice). During fasting, when HSL is normally strongly induced in AT, HSL-ko animals exhibited markedly decreased plasma concentrations of NEFA (-40%) and TG (-63%), whereas total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol levels were increased (+34%). Except for the increased HDL cholesterol concentrations, these differences were not observed in fed animals, in which HSL activity is generally low. Decreased plasma TG levels in fasted HSL-ko mice were mainly caused by decreased hepatic very low density lipid lipoprotein (VLDL) synthesis as a result of decreased NEFA transport from the periphery to the liver. Reduced NEFA transport was also indicated by a depletion of hepatic TG stores (-90%) and strongly decreased ketone body concentrations in plasma (-80%). Decreased plasma NEFA and TG levels in fasted HSL-ko mice were associated with increased fractional catabolic rates of VLDL-TG and an induction of the tissue-specific lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity in cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle, and white AT. In brown AT, LPL activity was decreased. Both increased VLDL fractional catabolic rates and increased LPL activity in muscle were unable to provide the heart with sufficient NEFA, which led to decreased tissue TG levels in cardiac muscle. Our results demonstrate that HSL deficiency markedly affects the metabolism of TG-rich lipoproteins by the coordinate down-regulation of VLDL synthesis and up-regulation of LPL in muscle and white adipose tissue. These changes result in an "anti-atherogenic" lipoprotein profile.  相似文献

Triglyceride lipase (TGL) activities in the homogenates of the rat heart muscle were studied. TGL activity per mg protein of heart muscle was the highest in heart muscle homogenate utilizing 2.1 M glycine buffer, pH 8.3 among the assays investigated. The effects of NaCl, serum and heparin on TGL activities in heart muscle homogenates indicated the characteristics of lipoprotein lipase (LPL). Twelve-hour fasting increased heart muscle LPL activity, while enzyme activities in 48 hour- and 72 hour-fasted rats were lower than those in fed rats. LPL activities in heart muscle homogenates in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats either 3 days or 4 weeks after STZ injection, were decreased significantly as compared with those of control rats.  相似文献

Postprandial hyperlipidemia is frequently accompanied with intra-abdominal visceral accumulation in human subjects. We have found that the decreased lipoprotein lipase (LPL) mass and activity is negatively associated with the amount of visceral fat accumulation. Here, we studied the postprandial hyperlipidemia using the OLETF rat, a model with visceral obesity, in order to clarify the molecular mechanism causing postprandial hyperlipidemia accompanied with visceral obesity. At the same age of 32 weeks, the OLETF rats showed obviously higher plasma leptin, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL-cholesterol levels than the control LETO rats, although the plasma glucose level was not significantly different. Fat-loading test revealed the delayed metabolism of exogenous fat in the OLETF rats compared to the LETO rats, similar to human subjects with visceral obesity. In the obese rats, plasma levels of LPL mass and activities were 60 and 49% of control rats. The expression of LPL gene was decreased in subcutaneous adipose tissues and skeletal muscle of OLETF rats to 40 and 52% compared to those of LETO rats. In OLETF rats, plasma tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and insulin levels were increased to 2.0- and 2.3-folds compared to those in control rats. Furthermore, plasma insulin and TNF-alpha levels in OLETF rats were negatively correlated with the expression levels of LPL gene in subcutaneous fat and muscle. These results indicate that decreased LPL mass and activity in the animal model with visceral obesity is possibly caused by decreased expression of LPL gene in tissues mediated by the increased levels of insulin and TNF-alpha. The different expression of LPL gene in tissues associated with the increased levels of insulin and TNF-alpha possibly elucidate the underlying mechanisms involving the postprandial hyperlipidemia observed in visceral obesity.  相似文献

This study supports the possibility for multiple subcellular forms of lipoprotein lipase. 1. The total activity of lipoprotein lipase per g of intact epididymal adipose tissue from fed rats is much higher than that from starved rats. 2. The isolated fat-cells of fed and of starved rats have lipoprotein lipase of almost the same activity per g of fat-pads. The isolated fat-cells of starved rats have a much higher proportion of total activity per g of the intact tissue than do those of fed rats. 3. Under the conditions of homogenization used, only a small proportion of the total activity per g of intact tissue from fed rats was associated with the fat layer which floated to the top of the homogenate during low-speed centrifugation. The different proportions of the specific enzyme activity found in each subcellular fraction are described. 4. Lipoprotein lipase from plasma membranes and microsomal fractions from starved and fed rats was purified by affinity chromatography. 5. The total activity of microsomal lipoprotein lipase per g of intact adipose tissue is enhanced by a normal diet. 6. In intact epididymal adipose tissue from fed rats, the activity per g of tissue of lipoprotein lipase of plasma membranes is much higher than that in the same fraction from starved rats. By contrast, the activities per g of tissue in plasma membranes obtained from starved or from fed rats by collagenase treatment were similar.  相似文献

This study aimed to dissociate the peripheral effects of adrenalectomy (ADX) on triglyceride (TG) metabolism from those it exerts centrally on energy intake and to determine the impact of diet composition therein. Rats were fed either rodent chow or a diet high in sucrose and fat (HSF) and were adrenalectomized or left intact and pair fed to the ADX animals. Liver TG content, an index of hepatic TG production, was not affected by ADX, but was increased twofold by the HSF diet. ADX decreased the rate of hepatic TG secretion by 41% in chow-fed but not in HSF-fed animals. Triglyceridemia and postheparin plasma lipase activities remained largely unchanged by treatments. ADX decreased insulinemia fivefold in chow-fed rats, but less so in HSF-fed animals. Likewise, subcutaneous and visceral adipose depots were 40-60% smaller in ADX than in intact pair-fed rats given chow, but the effect of ADX was dampened by consumption of the HSF diet. Although smaller, adipose tissues of ADX rats maintained a higher activity of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) than those of intact pair-fed rats, whereas muscle LPL was decreased. The study confirms that in the presence of reduced energy intake, corticosterone contributes to the maintenance of adipose stores and that the consequences of its absence tend to be attenuated when a high-energy diet is fed. The study further shows that, contrary to ad libitum feeding conditions, most determinants of TG metabolism, such as hepatic TG stores, triglyceridemia, postheparin plasma LPL, and adipose tissue LPL, are minimally affected by glucocorticoids when consumption of a high-energy diet is restricted, suggesting that glucocorticoids affect TG metabolism mostly indirectly through their central action on ingestive behavior.  相似文献
