Inanidrilus bulbosus gen. et sp.n. is described from subtidal sands near Miami, Florida. The species lacks alimentary canal, but it possesses highly modified penial setae and an unpaired dorsal spermatheca. It appears closely related to Phallodrilus Pierantoni, but since it is devoid of anterior prostate glands, which are attached to the ental ends of the atria in Phallodrilus , a new monotypic genus, Inanidrilus gen.n., is established.  相似文献

Mitinokuidrilus excavatus n. g., n. sp. is described from shallow subtidal coarse sands in northern Japan (NW Pacific). The species is characterized by a unique mode of sexual reproduction. Each of the two types of mature worms represents the opposite sex: "male" worms have testes, seminal vesicles, male ducts and small spermathecae; "female" individuals possess clitellum, ovaries, ovisac, female ducts and fully developed spermathecae. No mature worms with intermediate sexual condition were collected. The taxonomic position and the possibility of consecutive hermaphroditism of the present species are discussed.  相似文献

Acanthopale perkinsi gen. et spa, from coral reefs near the Isle of Pines, Cuba, and from off the coast of Florida is described. The genus is characterized principally by the shape and distribution of paleae, insertion of the median antenna, and presence of a caruncle and a mouth cover. Notosetae (paleae) are similar in shape to the stalks of a rosebush, with two perpendicular series of alternate spines. Paleae of the anterior group are approximately one third the length of those of the posterior group, which are very long and slender. The new genus is discussed and compared with the other genera of Chrysopetalidae.  相似文献

Two new genera and species from Kenyan tidal areas,Polkepsilonema mombasae gen. et sp.n. andPternepsilonema servaesae gen. et sp.n., are described. Both are characterized by the presence of at least fourteen subcephalic setae and by thick thorns on the ventral body region of males. In the first genus, eight to ten subcephalic setae are situated anterior to the amphid, and the ambulatory setae are bisinuous. In the second, the subcephalic setae are situated at the posterior edge of the rostrum, and the ambulatory setae are straight.A key to the 13 genera of the Epsilonematidae is presented.Abbreviations a body length divided by maximum body diameter - abd body diameter at level of anus - amph % diameter of amphid as a percent of head diameter - Asl length of anteriormost ambulatory seta of external subventral row - b body length divided by pharyngeal length - c body length divided by tail length - cs length of cephalic setae - dcs distance from rostrum edge to cephalic setae - gub length of gubernaculum - L body length - lct length of copulatory thorns - lpt length of precloacal thorns - mbd maximum body diameter of posterior body region - (mdb) minimum body diameter - mbd/(mbd) maximum body diameter divided by minimum body diameter - mbd ph body diameter at level of pharyngeal bulb - N number of body rings - ph length of pharynx - spic length of spicule measured along the arc - SSph length of subdorsal somatic setae in pharyngeal region - t tail length - tmr length of nonannulated tail region - V position of vulva as a percentage of total body length from anterior  相似文献

Ikosipodus carolensis gen. et sp.n. from shallow subtidal sands off the coast of North Carolina is described. The species shows conspicuous neotenic features. The sexes are separate and dimorphic. The juveniles resemble the adults greatly. A seminal receptacle in the male, of which the fine structure was investigated, is the first proof of direct sperm transmission in the Dorvilleidae. The new form has been classified into a tentative phylogenetic dendrogram of the dorvilleid genera  相似文献

Cernosvitoviella ampullax sp.n. is characterized by the long ampulla of the spermatheca (usually 5–7 times longer than the ectal duct), the funnel-shaped sperm funnel and the dorsal vessel which originates in segment XI. The species was found in peat soil on Hardangervidda (1 320 m a. s.l.) in an area where the soil remains frozen for about half the year.  相似文献

Dumontia oregonensis, a cladoceran representing a new family in the Order Anomopoda is described from rain pools in the Agate Desert, Oregon, U.S.A. The proposed family, Dumontiidae, is the newest family within Anomopoda that is not just a reshuffling of already-known species. The general appearance of this novel cladoceran is similar to that of members of the family Macrothricidae. However, a detailed examination of the trunk limbs, particularly of the second pair of limbs, showed that the new species lacks the scraper-setae typically observed in all members of the recently erected suborder Radopoda, to which macrothricids belong. Instead, limb morphology suggests a closer relation of Dumontiidae to the family Daphniidae. Dumontiidae appears to be a `missing' link between the suborder Radopoda and the `non-radopodid' anomopods. The families Daphniidae, Ilyocryptidae, Bosminidae, Moinidae and the new Dumontiidae are similar in that they lack of typical radopodid setae on the second pair of trunk limbs. Further studies on the limb morphology of non-radopodid cladocerans are required to solve the phylogenetic relationships among the members of the order Anomopoda.  相似文献

Sauertylenchus labiodiscus n. gem, n. sp. is described and illustrated from soil around Rhagodia sp. in Australia. It can be distinguished from the most closely related genus Tylenchorhynchus Cobb, 1913 by the distinctly set-off, rounded, lip region with a conspicuous labial disc, and long thin stylet. The face view and spicules of Sauertylenchus labiodiscus are illustrated with scanning electron micrographs. The subfamilies Tylenchorhynchinae and Merlininae ale discussed.  相似文献

Lockenloia sanguinis n. gen., n. sp. (Nematoda: Dracunculoidea) is described from fragments collected in the atrium of the heart of a male nurse shark, Ginglymostoma cirratum (Bonnaterre). The new genus is distinguished by its reduced buccal capsule; body that expands abruptly just behind the cephalic extremity; long and undivided esophagus; and subconical, pointed tail. Until the systematics of the superfamily are revised, the familial placement of the taxon is unclear.  相似文献

A nerillid species new to science is described from the marine aquarium system of Moscow Zoo. Trochonerilla mobilis gen. et sp.n. is characterized by eight chaetigerous segments, three antennae, absence of palps, parapodia with two bundles of simple chaetae and pygidium with two anal cirri. In contrast to other eight-segmented nerillids, Trochonerilla mobilis are very active and mobile animals. They are also able to swim through the water column by means of the strong ring of cilia on the first chaetigerous segment. Their geographical origin is unknown.  相似文献

The generic diagnosis of the male imago of a new genus of the subfamily Orthocladiinae (Chironomidae), Saetheriella is given. The genus is characterized by protruding, hairy eyes; antenna with straight, apical seta; antepronotum reduced; squama without setae; Cu1 distinctly downcurved; and anal point short, triangular, covered with microtrichia and with two strong, lateral setae. The genus is close to Gynnidocladius Sublette & Wirth, Unniella Sæther and Parakiefferiella Thienemann. The distribution of the genera shows evidence of a Gondwanian connection. The male imago of the only included species S. amplicristata sp. n. is described.  相似文献

A new genus of crangonid shrimp from the Arafura Sea is described and illustrated. Pontocheras amfurae sp.n. occurs in shallow silty waters off northern Australia. The new genus is closely related to the genus Pontocaris Bate, 1888, hut it is remarkable in the modifications of the dactyls of the fifth pereiopods, a mechanism attaching the branchiostogite to the thoracic sternites and the presence of a probable stridulating mechanism on the carpus of the third pereiopod.
