New host and locality records are given for Plagiorhynchus (Plagiorhynchus) charadrii (Yamaguti, 1939) Van Cleave, 1951 and P. (Prosthorhynchus) cylindraceus (Goeze, 1782) Schmidt & Kuntz, 1966. The uncertainty of identification of a plover host of P. (P.) charadrii as well as the origins of P. (P.) cylindraceus (found in Australia but not New Zealand) and its occurrence in both bird and mammal hosts are discussed. P. (P.) menurae (Johnston, 1912) Golvan, 1956 is redescribed, including the male, and new host, Menura alberti Bonaparte, and locality records are given. P. (P.) allisonae n. sp. is described from Haematopus ostralegus finschi (Martens) and H. unicolor (Forster) from the South Island of New Zealand. P. (P.) allisonae can be differentiated from its congeners by having a proboscis armature of 18-23 rows of 14-20 hooks, thorns of hooks shorter than simple roots with short manubria, eight tubular cement glands and eggs of 134-154 x 33-36 microm in size. The presence of P. (P.) gracilis Petrochenko, 1958 in Australia is questioned. New host and locality records are given for Porrorchis hylae (Johnston, 1914) Schmidt & Kuntz, 1967 and the northern distribution of P. hydromuris (Edmonds, 1957) Schmidt & Kuntz, 1967 confirmed.  相似文献

ABSTRACT. Eimeria turcicus n. sp. (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) is reported from the gall bladder of the Mediterranean gecko, Hemidactylus t. turcicus (Linnaeus, 1758) from the Houston Zoo, Texas, USA. Oocysts of this coccidian are elongate and cylindrical, 38.2 × 17.9 (35.2-40.8 × 16.8-20.0)μm, with a smooth, bilayered wall ∼ 1.6 μm thick; shape index 2.1 (1.9-2.3). A polar granule is present, but a micropyle and oocyst residuum are absent. Sporocysts are ovoid, 11.0 × 8.8 (10.0-12.0 × 8.0-9.4) μm, with a smooth, thin wall and suture; shape index 1.3 (1.1-1.4). Each sporocyst contains a residuum measuring 6.0 × 5.1 (4.8-8.0 × 4.8-6.4) μm, additional residual granules scattered among the sporozoites, and two sporozoites that are normally arranged head-to-tail within the sporocyst. Each sporozoite contains a single, ovoid, posterior refractile body and a central nucleus.  相似文献

cis-[Co(ox)(tetb]ClO4 is readily isolated from the reaction between tetb (tetb = rac-Me6-cyclam = 5,5,7(R,S),12,12,14(R,S)-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) and K3Co(ox)3·3H2O in aqueous solution. Removal of the coordinated oxalato ligand by acid hydrolysis (with HCl/HClO4) results in the formation of α-trans-(RRRR,SSSS), [CoCl2{(SSeq,RReq)-tetb}]ClO4 with both six-membered rings in the twist conformation. The (RR)-(+)-tartrate (−2) ion coordinates enantioselectively with this isomer to give (–)-cis-[Co2{μ-(RR)-(+)-(tart)}{(RR)-tetb}2](ClO4)2 and this, in turn, reacts with HCl/HClO4 to give (–)-α-trans-(1S,4S,8S,11S)-[CoCl12{7Req,14Req)-tetb}]ClO4. The absolute configuration of the tetraamine obtained in the resolution procedure was established by synthesizing the α-trans-dichloro isomer using tetb of known absolute configuration.  相似文献

The Cu(II) in Cu(H(-2)L) has been postulated to be successively transported to cysteine (Cys) as follows; Cu(H(-2)L) <==> Cu(H(-2)L)(Cys*-) <==> Cu(H(-1)L)(Cys*-) --> Cu(H(-1)L)(Cys-), where Cys*- denotes the monodentate Cys-. N-acetyl-cysteinate (ACys-) complexes Cu(H(-2)L)(ACys-) and Cu(H(-1)L)(ACys-), having similar coordination modes to Cu(H(-2)L)(Cys*-) and Cu(H(-1)L)(Cys*-), respectively, exhibited the S --> Cu(II) charge transfer absorption at 325-355 nm and the d-d absorption at 530-610 nm. A linear interrelation existed between the energies of the CD and d-d absorptions. Cu(H(-2)L)(ACys-) were in rapid equilibrium with Cu(H(-1)L)(ACys-). Upon forming the ternary complex, pK(c2) of the parent Cu(H(-1)L) was raised to more than 1.0. The formation constants (K) of the Cu(H(-1)L)(ACys-) species from Cu(H(-1)L) were bigger than those of Cu(H(-2)L)(ACys-) from Cu(H(-2)L). The linear free-energy relationship existed between the free-energy change (deltaG) and the entropy change (deltaS) for the ternary complex formation. The rate constants (k1+) for the Cu(H(-1)L)(Cys-) formation closely correlated with the K values for Cu(H(-2)L)(ACys-). The ternary complexes containing ACys are considered to be analogous complexes to the intermediates in the transport of Cu(II) from peptides to cysteine.  相似文献

粪检云南省昆明市太平镇捕获的31只高原姬鼠Apodemus chevrieri,在9只高原姬鼠中共发现了2种艾美球虫,自然感染率为29%,其中1种被命名为新种:齐氏艾美球虫Eimeria chevrieri sp.nov.。齐氏艾美球虫孢子化的卵囊椭圆形,大小为21·2μm×16·3μm(22·2~19·7μm×17·3~15·6μm)。卵囊壁光滑,单层,厚约1·0μm;无胚孔和卵囊余体。有1~2个极体,极体形状不规则,直径1·0~2·0μm。卵圆形的孢子囊大小为11·2μm×7·5μm(12·3~10·3μm×8·3~6·8μm),有孢子囊余体,且主要分布在2个子孢子的中间,斯氏体扁豆形,大小为1·0μm×0·3μm,亚斯氏体亚球形,大小为2·5μm×1·5μm。子孢子在孢子囊里面头尾相接,在其宽端有1个明显的反光体,直径约3μm。模式标本保存在云南大学标本馆。齐氏艾美球虫,新种Eimeria chevrieri sp·nov.(图1~2,4)寄生于姬鼠属,具有椭圆形的卵囊,卵囊壁具有光滑、无色、单层特点的艾美球虫有3种:E.gomurica Musaev and Veisov,1963,E.kaunensis Arnastauskiene et al.,1978和E.gandobica Musaev and Veisov,1965。E.gomurica、E.kaunensis与本种的主要区别是卵囊较小且有卵囊余体;E.gandobica与本种的主要区别是卵囊呈宽椭圆形,卵囊和孢子囊较小(19·0μm×16·8μmvs·21·2μm×16·3μm;8·0μm×5·0μmvs·11·2μm×7·5μm),孢子囊余体少,无反光体和亚斯氏体。寄生于姬鼠属,具有椭圆形的卵囊,卵囊壁具有光滑、2层特点的艾美球虫有3种:E.alorani Hurková et al.,2005、E.apodemi Pell啨rdy1974和E.zaurica Musaev and Veisov,1965。E.zaurica与本种的主要区别是具有卵囊余体;E.alorani的卵囊和孢子囊比本种大的多(26·9μm×19·3μmvs.21·2μm×16·3μm),且其孢子囊余体形成一个直径约4~5μm的球状结构;E.apodemi的孢子化卵囊呈宽椭圆形,经常不对称,无极体和斯氏体。该种区别其它种的关键特征是:1)孢子化卵囊椭圆形,卵囊壁光滑、单层、无色;2)有极体;3)孢子囊有亚斯氏体。模式标本,含孢子化卵囊的齐氏姬鼠粪便保存在云南大学生物系,标本编号:2006047;齐氏姬鼠标本保存于云南大学标本馆,标本编号20060081。词源:种名源自宿主种名。  相似文献

Of 50 white-throated woodrats (Neotoma albigula) collected from Socorro Co., New Mexico, 21 (42%) had eimerian oocysts in their feces when examined. Of the 21 Neotoma found positive for Eimeria, 19 (90%) harbored a single eimerian species at time of examination. Eimeria albigulae Levine, Ivens & Kruidenier, 1957, was found in 18 (86%), and E. ladronensis n. sp. was found in five (24%) infected woodrats. Sporulated oocysts of E. ladronensis are ellipsoidal, 19-25 X 13-15 (21.4 +/- 1.3 X 14.1 +/- 1.1) micron, have a smooth wall and one or two polar granules, but lack a micropyle and an oocyst residuum. Sporocysts are tapered at one end, 7-10 X 6-7 (8.5 +/- 0.7 X 6.5 +/- 0.3) micron, and have a Stieda body and sporocyst residuum, but no substieda body. Prepatent periods for E. albigulae and E. ladronensis n. sp. are 5-6 and 8-9 days, respectively; patent periods are 7-18 and approximately 11 days, respectively.  相似文献

The trophozoites of a novel gregarine apicomplexan, Trichotokara nothriae n. gen. et sp., were isolated and characterized from the intestines of the onuphid tubeworm Nothria conchylega (Polychaeta), collected at 20 m depth from the North-eastern Pacific Coast. The trophozoites were 50-155 μm long with a mid-cell indentation that formed two prominent bulges (anterior bulge, 14-48 μm wide; posterior bulge, 15-55 μm wide). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) demonstrated that approximately 400 densely packed, longitudinal epicytic folds (5 folds/μm) inscribe the surface of the trophozoites, and a prominently elongated mucron (14-60 μm long and 6-12 μm wide) was covered with hair-like projections (mean length, 1.97 μm; mean width, 0.2 μm at the base). Although a septum occurred at the junction between the cell proper and the mucron in most trophozoites, light microscopy (LM) demonstrated that the cell proper extended into the core of the mucron as a thin prolongation. A spherical nucleus (8-20 μm) was situated in the middle of the trophozoites, and gamonts underwent caudal syzygy. The small subunit (SSU) rDNA sequence and molecular phylogenetic position of T. nothriae was also characterized. The sequence from this species was the most divergent of all SSU rDNA sequences currently known from gregarines and formed a weakly supported clade with Lecudina polymorpha, which also possesses densely packed epicyctic folds (3-5 folds/μm) and a prominently elongated mucron.  相似文献

Sedimentation analysis and light-scattering measurements were made with the two forms of pig pancreas pro-(carboxypeptidase A), in order to determine some of their physical properties. The following values were found (the first value applies to the binary complex and the second one to the monomer). The A 1%/280.1 cm values were 19.9 +/- 0.3 and 16.3 +/- 0.3. The partial specific volumes v -0 were 0.707 +/- 0.016 cm3/g and 0.714 +/- 0.015 cm3/g. The sedimentation coefficients S 0/20,w were 4.90 +/- 0.15S and 3.75 +/- 0.15 S. The diffusion coefficients D 0/20,w were (5.8 +/- 0.1) X 10(-7) cm2/s and (6.95 +/- 0.15) X 10(-7) cm2/s. From these data the following values were calculated. Relative molecular masses Mr were 71 000 +/- 4000 and 46 000 +/- 3000. The frictional ratios f/fmin. were 1.37 +/- 0.06 and 1.31 +/- 0.07; assuming a value for the solvation of the molecules (delta = 0.5 g/g) the asymmetry values range from 3 to 5 for the binary complex and from 2 to 4 for the monomer. The Mr values found in the present work coincide with those found by means of polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulphate [Martínez, Avilés, SanSegundo & Cuchillo (1981) Biochem. J. 197, 141-147]. Therefore the low values obtained by those authors when using gel-filtration chromatography must be the result of the interaction of the zymogens with the gel matrix, as the asymmetry is too small to justify the large discrepancies found.  相似文献

Apoconalbumin binds Mn(II) at two sites with association constants of K1 = 7 (+/- 1) X 10(4) and K2 = 0.4 (+/- 0.25) X 10(4) M-1. The binding is tighter in the presence of excess bicarbonate resulting in K1 = 1.8 (+/- 0.2) X 10(5) and K2 = 3 (+/- 2) X 10(4) M-1. The electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum (at both 9 and 35 GHz) of Mn(II) bound at the tight site reveals a rhombic distortion (lambda = E/D approximately equal to 0.25-0.31) in the protein ligand environment of the mental ion. An evaluation of the 1/pT1p, paramagnetic contribution to the longitudinal relaxation rate of solvent protons with Mn(II)-, Mn(III)-, and Fe(III)-derivatives of conalbumin revealed that the mental ion in each site of conalbumin is accessible to one water molecule. For Mn(II)-conalbumin and Mn(III)-conalbumin species, inner coordination sphere protons are rapidly exchanging with the bulk solvent, while slow exchange conditions prevail for Fe(III)-conalbumin.  相似文献

ABSTRACT. The morphological characteristics of two new species of Isospora observed in Emberiza cirlus (Cirl Bunting) from Italy are reported. the oocysts of Isospora normanlevinei n. sp. are spherical or sub-spherical, with a smooth double-layered wall, and measure 24.2 times 23.7 (21.0-26.5 times 21.5-25.5) μm; each oocyst contains 2 to 10 polar granules. No micropyle or residuum was observed. the piriform sporocysts measure 19.4 times 11.2 (17.0-21.0 times 10.0-12.5) μm and contain a dispersed residuum. the Stieda body is flat; the substiedal body, with scattered clear and dark granules, may be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. the oocysts of I. coluzzii n. sp. are asymmetrical and rounded shape and measure 28.6 times 24.2 (25.0-31.5 times 21.5-26.0) μm. the oocyst has a double-layered wall and 2 to 3 polar granules. Neither micropyle nor residuum is present. the sub-ellipsoidal sporocyst, measuring 18.2 times 10.0(16.5-20.0 times 9.0-11.0) μm, has a dispersed sporocyst residuum. the Stieda complex is symmetrical.  相似文献

Serum T(3) (3,5,3' triiodothyronine) and serum T(4) (thyroxine) concentrations were repetitively assayed by radioimmunoassay over a three-year period in two male and two female immature captive whitetip reef sharks, Triaenodon obesus. These sharks were maintained at the Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu, Hawaii, in an open system holding pool receiving 568 liters per minute of water from a saltwater well with an iodide concentration of 0.076 mg/liter. No significant male-female difference was observed for either serum T(3) or serum T(4). No seasonal pattern of serum T(3) was detected (P = 0.07). Serum T(3) concentrations ranged (mean +/- SEM) from 0. 52 to 0.83 ng/mL (0.67 +/- 0.01; n = 64). A significant seasonal difference was observed for serum T(4) (P < 0.001). Serum T(4) concentration was higher in winter (October-January) with a mean (range +/- SEM) of 6.58 ng/mL (1.48-8.77 +/- 0.35; n = 24) and lower in summer (May-August) with a mean of 3.62 ng/mL (1.34-5.71 +/- 0. 22; n = 24). A new genus, Papillonema gen.n., is erected to accomodate the two species P. danieli gen. et sp. n. and P. clavatum (Gerlach, 1957) comb.n. from intertidal sediments of a tropical mangrove. Papillonema gen.n. is characterized by prominent papilliform labial sensillae, an elongate muscular terminal bulb (up to 60% of pharyngeal length), and three precloacal supplements. A novel acylated cyanidin 3-sambubioside-5-glucoside was isolated from the purple-violet flowers of Matthiola longipetala subsp. bicornis (Sm) P. W. Ball. (family: Brassicaceae), and determined to be cyanidin 3-O-[2-O-(2-O-(trans-feruloyl)-β-xylopyranosyl)-6-O-(trans-feruloyl)-β-glucopyranoside]-5-O-[6-O-(malonyl)-β-glucopyranoside] by chemical and spectroscopic methods. In addition, two known acylated cyanidin 3-sambubioside-5-glucosides, cyanidin 3-O-[2-O-(2-O-(trans-sinapoyl)-β-xylopyranosyl)-6-O-(trans-feruloyl)-β-glucopyranoside]-5-O-[6-O-(malonyl)-β-glucopyranoside] and cyanidin 3-O-[2-O-(β-xylopyranosyl)-6-O-(trans-feruloyl)-β-glucopyranoside]-5-O-[6-O-(malonyl)-β-glucopyranoside] were identified in the flowers.  相似文献

Beginning in July 1980, 149 voles (Microtus spp.) representing 9 species and 14 subspecies collected in Japan, Mexico and the United States were examined for coccidia; 67 (45%) had oocysts in their feces. These included 1 of 3 (33%) M. californicus sactidiegi; 0 of 1 M. longicaudus longicaudus; 0 of 1 M. l. macrurus; 48 of 111 (43%) M. mexicanus including 11 of 26 (42%) M. m. fulviventer, 1 of 2 (50%) M. m. fundatus, 13 of 31 (42%) M. m. mexicanus, 1 of 4 (25%) M. m. mogollonensis and 22 of 48 (46%) M. m. subsimus; 5 of 8 (63%) M. montanus arizonensis; 6 of 6 M. montebelli montebelli; 2 of 4 (50%) M. oregoni oregoni; 5 of 13 (38%) M. pennsylvanicus pennsylvanicus; 0 of 1 M. quasiater and 0 of 1 M. townsendii townsendii. The following coccidians were identified from infected voles: Eimeria saxei n. sp. (syn. E. wenrichi "B") from M. c. sactidiegi; E. ochrogasteri, E. saxei, E. wenrichi (syn. E. wenrichi "A"), and Eimeria sp. from M. m. fulviventer, Eimeria sp. from M. m. fundatus; E. ochrogasteri, E. saxei, Eimeria tolucadensis n. sp., E. wenrichi, and Eimeria sp. from M. m. mexicanus; E. wenrichi from M. m. mogollonensis; Eimeria coahuiliensis n. sp., E. saxei, Eimeria subsimi n. sp., E. wenrichi, Eimeria sp., and Isospora mexicanasubsimi n. sp. from M. m. subsimus; E. tamiasciuri and E. wenrichi from M. m. arizonensis; Eimeria spp. from M. m. montebelli; E. saxei and E. wenrichi from M. o. oregoni; and E. ochrogasteri and E. wenrichi from M. p. pennsylvanicus. Sporulated oocytsts of Eimeria coahuiliensis n. sp. were ellipsoid, 29.6 X 19.6 (27-34 X 18-22) micron with ovoid sporocysts 14.4 X 8.9 (13-18 X 8-10) microns. Sporulated oocysts of Eimeria saxei n. sp. were subspheroid, 13.0 X 11.0 (11-14 X 10-12) micron with ovoid sporocysts 7.5 X 4.0 (6-9 X 4-5) micron. Sporulated oocysts of Eimeria subsimi n. sp. were ovoid/subspheroid, 25.1 X 18.7 (22-28 X 17-21) micron with ellipsoid sporocysts 13.9 X 7.4 (13-15 X 6-8) micron. Sporulated oocysts of Eimeria tolucadensis n. sp. were subspheroid, 25.4 X 20.3 (23-26 X 19-23) micron with ellipsoid sporocysts 11.3 X 7.8 (10-13 X 7-9) micron. Kappaphycus alvarezii var.tambalang was cultured in a 3 × 3 m bamboo raft installed inside a 4 × 4 m floating net cage ofLates calcarifer (sea bass) broodstock at SEAFDEC Sub-station Igang, Guimaras, Philippines, from December 1989 to May 1990. Growth and production ofK. alvarezii var.tambalang was influenced by the culture months. The highest growth rate and production were recorded in January and May, respectively, while the lowest growth rate and production were observed in March. Average growth rate (wet weight) ranged from 3.72 to 7.17% day-1, while production ranged from 575.5 to 2377 g m-1 line-1. A total production of approximately 123 t (fresh) or 37 t (dried) ha-1 in the 5-month harvest season was produced from this culture system. Cultivation ofK. alvarezii var.tambalang in cages is possible, which indicates that seaweeds can be grown with carnivorous finfish, a practice which is still untapped.  相似文献

The conformation of chromatographically pure block oligopeptides (L -lysyl)m-(L -alanyl)n- L -tyrosyl-(L -alanyl)n-(L -lysyl)m with n = 3 and m = 6 or 3 is investigated. By circular dichroism it is shown that these peptides may exhibit a partially α-helical structure depending upon pH, ionic strength, solvent, and temprerature. An attempt is made to describe the helical content of these small peptides by utilizing the data obtained on high-molecular-weight poly(L -lysine). By measurement of the quantum yield and the decays of the peptides fluorescence, it is shown that, in aqueous solution, at neutral pH, the fluorescence of the peptides is quenched by interactions with the peptide carbonyl groups. The decays are multiexponential, which shows the presence of several conformations of the phenolic chromophore relative to the peptide chain. The addition of methanol, which induced the helix formation, decreases the quenching of the fluorescence and the multiexponential character of the decays. In presence of sodium hydroxide, which further increases the helical content of the peptides, a dynamic quenching occured that can be attributed to interactions between the phenol hydroxyl group of tyrosine (ith residue) and the ε-amino groups of the (i+4)th and (i -4)th lysyl residues.  相似文献

Gorgorhynchoides pseudocarangis n. sp. (Isthmosacanthidae), is described from the intestine of the white trevally Pseudocaranx dentex (Bloch & Schneider) (Carangiformes: Carangidae) collected in Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia. The new species has a proboscis armature of 27–28 rows of 16–17 hooks. It is most similar morphologically to Gorgorhynchoides bullocki Cable & Marafachisi, 1970 and Gorgorhynchoides gnathanodontos Smales, 2014 but differs from the former in having a longer proboscis with more rows of hooks, ventral hooks 6/7–12 with notched tips and trunk spines which do not extend onto the anterior bulbous swelling, and from the latter in having a longer proboscis, ventral hooks 6/7–12 with notched tips, more circles of trunk spines, larger eggs and a proboscis armature with all hooks lacking manubria. Previous molecular phylogenetic analyses have shown that the genus Serrasentis Van Cleave, 1923 is sister to Gorgorhynchoides Cable & Linderoth, 1963, although some have failed to resolve these two lineages in separate monophyletic clades. We performed novel single-gene and concatenated phylogenetic analyses using cox1 mtDNA, 18S and 28S rDNA gene-sequences, resolving Gorgorhynchoides and Serrasentis in monophyletic sister clades and demonstrating that Gorgorhynchoides pseudocarangis n. sp. is phylogenetically distinct from related species for which molecular sequence data are available. We view the previous amendment of the Isthmosacanthidae to include the genera Golvanorhynchus Noronha, Fabio & Pinto, 1987, Gorgorhynchoides, Isthmosacanthus Smales 2014 and Serrasentis, and the transfer of the family to the Polymorphida, as the most satisfactory classification at present, although additional molecular evidence would provide greater stability.

Coprological examination of 15 Indian peacocks, Pavo cristatus, revealed the presence of a coccidium species of the genus Eimeria, which apparently represents a previously undescribed species. Sporulation is exogenous and fully developed oocysts of Eimeria pavoaegyptica sp. nov. are ellipsoidal, with a dimension of 15 (13-16) × 12 (10-12.9) microm and with a shape index of 1.25 (1-1.3). The sporulated oocysts have no micropyle but enclose one large rectangular-shaped polar granule and an oocyst residuum. The oocysts have a distinct two-layered wall, which is ~approximately1.7 microm thick. The outer layer has a smooth texture; it fills ~? of the total thickness and appears bicolored. The sporocysts are boat-shaped, of about 10 (9-11) × 4 (4-4.7) microm; their average shape-index is 2.5 microm with a small pointed Stieda body and a smooth, thin single-layered wall. No substieda body is detected. The sporocysts contain numerous, nearly uniform granular residua. The sporozoites are banana-shaped, 6 × 3 microm and each has two different-sized refractile bodies.  相似文献
