[目的]探究三峡水库消落带外来植物的物种组成及分布特征,为库区外来植物管理防控、生物多样性保护和生态安全管理提供理论支持和数据参考。[方法]通过对库区消落带外来植物的实地调查,结合文献资料,研究外来植物的物种组成、原产地、引入途径、生活型及消落带外来植物的分布现状。[结果]三峡水库消落带存在66种外来植物,隶属于22个科50属,其中菊科、豆科、茄科和苋科是三峡水库消落带外来植物的优势科,共有40种,占总种数约60.6%,菊科的数目最多,达到21种;外来植物中来源于美洲的物种最多,达到66.7%;生活型以一年生草本植物居多;花果期多集中于5—10月份;外来植物中分布最为广泛的物种是大狼杷草、喜旱莲子草、鬼针草、钻叶紫菀、小蓬草和土荆芥;三峡水库内库首和库中区域消落带分布的外来植物较多。[结论]三峡水库消落带外来植物种类较多,分布广泛,在常年回水区外来植物入侵态势较为严重,入侵植物防控的形势不容乐观。建议结合消落带管理方法和消落带植物群落特征建立外来植物防治机制,积极采取相关措施,加强消落带外来植物扩散机制及其对本地生态系统影响的研究。  相似文献

The water stricter species Limnoporus dissortis and L. notabilis hybridize across a broad zone in western Canada. Body length and alleles at four allozyme loci show a steep cline along the east slope of the Rocky Mountains in western Alberta, while in central British Columbia the parental phenotypes coexist without merging fully. One sex-linked locus shows little introgression, while there is apparently considerable gene flow at three autosomal loci. Although the hybrid zone has characteristics of a broad tension zone, the spatial distribution of introgression suggests that habitat patchiness and differential habitat associations of the two species also contribute to the pattern of hybridization. Asymmetry in interspecific mating success and incompatibilities of sex chromosomes with each other or with cytoplasmic factors appear to account for the occurrence of L. dissortis genotypes within the range of L. notabilis, and the lack of L. notabilis genotypes within the range of L. dissortis. The genetic structure of this hybrid zone supports the importance of sex-linked traits in maintaining the integrity of species, while its spatial structure suggests that extrinsic habitat features can combine with intrinsic genetic incompatibilities to produce complex hybrid interactions.  相似文献

Hybrid zones provide a rare opportunity to explore the processes involved in reproductive isolation and speciation. The southern hybrid zone between the southeastern Australian tree frogs Litoria ewingii and L. paraewingi has been comprehensively studied over the last 40 years, primarily using reproductive compatibility experiments and male advertisement calls. We used mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and eight nuclear microsatellite markers to characterize this hybrid zone along a historically studied transect and to test various dispersal‐dependent and dispersal‐independent hybrid zone models. The species are genetically distinct and the level of hybridization within the contact zone is low, with the majority of admixed individuals representing later‐generation hybrids. Based on previous experimental genetic compatibility studies, we predicted that hybrids with L. paraewingi mtDNA would be more frequent than hybrids with L. ewingii mtDNA. Surprisingly, a greater proportion of the identified hybrids had L. ewingii mtDNA. Geographical cline analyses showed a sharp transition in allele frequencies across the transect, and both the mtDNA and microsatellite data showed concordant cline centres, but were best supported by a model that allowed width to vary. Overall, the L. ewingiiL. paraewingi hybrid zone is best characterized as a tension zone, due to the narrow cline width, concordant genetic clines and low levels of hybridization.  相似文献

Summary. Exine ontogeny is studied in five taxa of the family Zygophyllaceae sensu lato (Peganum harmala L., Zygophyllum album L., Fagonia cretica L., Tribulus terrestris L., and Nitraria retusa [Forsk.] Asch.). In the beginning of the tetrad stage, the plasmalemma is attached to the callose wall, except in T. terrestris, where it describes crests and hollows. The primexine matrix is fibrillar, bilayered in T. terrestris and unilayered in the other taxa. In all species except P. harmala, the procolumellae are heterogeneous with clear zones and they become compact later. In T. terrestris, they are built on the crests. In Z. album and T. terrestris, a primordial nexinic lamella is set up. It is tripartite with a white line seen at some levels; on its external leaflet, the foot layer is observed, and on its internal leaflet, there is the endexine with numerous lamellae. This white line disappears often in the mature exine. In T. terrestris, there is a thick nexine that is coarsely lamellate inside. In the aperture zone, the columellae are lacking, the tectum and the foot layer get thinner; they unite and form the apertural membrane with the external part of the endexine. There is a granulolamellar endexinic zone well developed in P. harmala, whereas it is threelayered and weakly developed in T. terrestris. Enhanced bioremediation strategies employ intensive electron donor amendments that can be successful in generating high biomass concentrations within the targeted area, and this technology is increasingly being applied within source zones to address non–aqueous phase contaminants. An unintended consequence is potential electron donor recycling via the slow endogenous decay of these newly grown cells, which may persist in the source zone even after the enhanced bioremediation project is completed and the introduced electron donor is exhausted. This paper presents a conceptual model that outlines the endogenous decay process within source zones and identifies several key scenarios where it is an important contributor to long-term attenuation. A key concept is that this reservoir represented by decaying biomass is both potentially large and capable of several rounds of turnover before becoming exhausted. Thus, the slow decay of biomass and the recycling of these decay products within the source zone extended the duration of the treatment period. A recent survey on the performance of source depletion technologies strongly suggests that this process is being observed at sites where enhanced bioremediation has been implemented (McGuire et al., 2006 McGuire, T. Concentrations continued to decline several years after treatment, providing a strong indication that there is an endogenous electron donor supply that is contributing to continued contaminant reduction over time. Little evidence of concentration rebound was observed relative to sites where other technologies were used, suggesting long-term benefits associated with enhanced bioremediation that appear to partially offset processes that can contribute to rebound (e.g., matrix diffusion). Because initial colonization can occur near the non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL)-water interface when exogenous electron donor is readily available the endogenous cell decay occurs in an optimal location to continue to support reductive dechlorination. This electron donor recycling process is ideally suited to favor growth of dechlorinating organisms relative to competing populations because of the slow release rates associated with decay, and it should preferentially stimulate polychloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE) source removal over metabolites. Endogenous decay can be directly employed as part of the remediation design through groundwater recirculation or by the construction of a carbon-based in situ biowall to generate large amounts of biomass. In the case of an in situ biowall, a key consideration is the placement, either as a permeable reactive barrier filled with fermentable carbon within the source zone, or as a barrier located upgradient of a source zone to ensure that groundwater is reduced before entering the targeted area. Regardless of the approach, the likely impact of electron donor recycling through endogenous decay is to extend low-level activity for up to several years, making enhanced bioremediation a promising technology in terms of initial performance and for long-term polishing.  相似文献

Larch heartwood is appreciated for its good mechanical properties, its colour and its texture, and it is often used outdoors because of its natural durability (decay resistance). In this study the colour of larch heartwood was studied in relation to extractives and decay resistance, with the aim to estimate durability of larch heartwood from its colour. On a total of 293 trees colour in the CIE L*a*b* space (L* lightness, a* red/green axis, b* yellow/blue axis), extractives content (acetone and hot-water extractives, amount of phenolics) and the brown-rot decay resistance were determined. For calculating the relative decay resistance ( x), mass loss after inoculation for 16 weeks with two fungi [ Coniophora puteana (Schum.ex.Fr.) Karst., Poria placenta (Fr.) Cke, European standard EN 113] of larch heartwood samples was compared to Scots pine ( Pinus sylvestris L) sapwood reference samples (EN 350-1). Different species [Japanese larch ( Larix kaempferi Lamb.), Hybrid larch (Larix deciduax L. kaempferi) and European larch ( L. decidua Mill.)], provenances and age classes (38-year, >150-year) were included. Japanese larch heartwood turned out to be significantly more reddish (higher a*-values) compared to the European larch provenances. Reddishness of the hybrids was intermediate. The red hue (+a*) was strongly correlated with the amount of phenols ( r =0.84) and decay resistance ( r =0.63) and therefore suitable for prediction of both parameters. The results suggest that colour measurements of larch heartwood could be of benefit in tree breeding programs and for an optimised utilization of larch timber.  相似文献

Roundup (active ingredient glyphosate) administered into the sapwood around the root collar of lodgepole pine trees, Pinus contorta var. latifolia Engelm., was investigated as a tool for creating trap trees for the mountain pine beetle (MPB), Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopk. MPB's attacked semiochemical-baited, glyphosate-treat trees before attacking baited control trees. Bark samples disclosed an increase in survival of MPB eggs and early instar larvae, enhanced larval development and increased attacks by insect parasites and predators in treated trees. The braconid wasp, Coeloides dendroctoni Cush., parasitized MPB larvae found at high densities in treated trees two months following attack. The dipteran predator, Medetera aldrichii Wh., was only found in treated trees. Increased competition by Ips pini (Say) had a negative impact on MPB survivorship. The enhanced impact of insectan agents apparently offset any glyphosate-induced gains in MPB survival or development, but did not cause a significant reduction in MPB emergence.  相似文献

Abstract. The only trees in most of the Negev desert are 3 native Acacia species. We tested the hypothesis that they act as keystone species as a result of the improved soil conditions under their canopies. Furthermore, because many Acacia populations suffer high levels of mortality due to water stress, we tested whether trees in high mortality populations had diminished effects on plant species and soil quality under their canopies. We show that plant species diversity beneath the tree canopies is higher than in the surrounding areas. There was also a clearly identifiable suite of species with higher occurrence under the trees. Plant species composition differed significantly between high and low mortality sites. However, there was higher species diversity in high mortality sites and under trees with higher water stress. Soil nutrient content was higher under the trees than in the open areas, especially under larger trees and trees with higher water status. The results indicate that there is a combination of positive and negative effects of Acacia trees on the under‐canopy environment, which may include positive effects of higher soil nutrients and a negative influence of higher soil salinity.  相似文献

Endangered forest species are often negatively affected by disturbances, which may have long-lasting effects on the distribution, abundance and genetic diversity of such species. To understand the effects of historic disturbances, detailed knowledge of the conditions for survival and recolonisation is needed, and this requires precise information on the perimeter and severity of historic disturbance events. We reconstructed a major historic disturbance (intensive logging followed by windthrow and fire in 1871) in the Swiss Jura mountains to analyse its effect on the disturbance-sensitive epiphytic lichen Lobaria pulmonaria. Tree-ring analysis of old and young Norway spruce trees (Picea abies L.), sampled systematically on a 100 m grid, revealed that (1) the disturbance was of intermediate severity, (2) a large, well-defined area of disturbance was created, and (3) an undisturbed zone remained in the centre of the disturbed area. Acomparison with lichen genetic data from a previous survey revealed that genetic diversity was particularly high in the remnant zone. These results suggest that the lichen survived there, and that it re-colonised the disturbed area both from the edge and from the remnant undisturbed zone. This illustrates that a detailed reconstruction of historic disturbances, as achieved with dendroecology, is very important for understanding the recolonisation process and thus, the conditions for the long-term persistence of disturbance-sensitive species in a dynamic landscape. We examined the impacts of land-use history on the species composition and diversity of a warm-temperate riparian forest landscape in Kyushu, southern Japan, focusing on the relationship between evergreen oaks and deciduous trees in natural and seminatural forests. The species composition of 59 plots was classified into four types (A to D). Type A, which showed a significant bias towards sites not subject to nonforest land use since 1947, had high species diversity consisting of (1) many lucidophyllous components of the region, including the rare indigenous oak Quercus hondae, and (2) summergreen tree species of varying dominance and number representing unique or locally rare elements of the riparian landscape in this warm-temperate region. Type B was dominated by a common species of oak, Q. glauca, and displayed less clear distribution bias with land-use history. In contrast to types A and B, types C and D, which were characterized by high dominance of deciduous trees, had negative bias away from sites that had been under forest land use in 1947. Presumably, intensive anthropogenic disturbances associated with nonforest land uses had expanded the habitats for deciduous trees. This phenomenon was represented by the establishment of forests (type D) dominated by Ulmus davidiana var. japonica (UDJ) after it had been released from the suppression of evergreen forest trees during a period of nonforest land use that prevents the successful recovery of evergreen trees. From these results we conclude that the impacts of land-use history on the diversity of warm-temperate riparian forest landscape are multiphased: a period of nonforest land use has a strong negative impact on lucidophyllous forest trees represented by the rare indigenous oak Q. hondae; release from the suppressive effects of the lucidophyllous species then encourages establishment of locally rare deciduous tree flora represented by UDJ, which continue to persist for decades after abandonment of nonforest land use.  相似文献

The highly specialized trap glands of carnivorous plant are responsible for the digestion and absorption of the prey; however, there are few studies on their systematics and evolution. In this study, the gland morphology of six carnivorous plant species of the genus Utricularia (Lentibulariaceae) in Taiwan, including U. aurea Lour., U. australis R. Br., U. bifida L., U. caerulea L., U. gibba L. and U. striatula Sm., was examined with a scanning electron microscope. The glands on both the outer and inner surfaces of the traps were examined. We found that the external glands had little diagnostic value, but the internal glands could be used in the identification of Taiwan species. Evolutionary trends of gland characteristics are discussed, analyzing morphology of the internal glands, based on previous work. A new hypothesis for the evolution of internal gland structure in Utricularia is also proposed.  相似文献

Summary Samples of 17 plant species (one herb, dwarf shrubs and trees) were collected monthly throughout the winter 1976/77. Samples were frozen down to selected temperatures and hardiness was estimated by visual observations of oxidative browning and bud break. In most species hardiness rapidly increased from September to November and dehardening started in February–March. In six species (Betula pubescens Ehrh., Picea abies (L.) Karst., Salix caprea L., Sorbus aucuparia L., Vaccinium myrtillus L., V. vitis-idaea L.) hardening developed faster at the continental than at the coastal location. Differences in maximum hardiness between sampling locations were generally small and there were no real differences in dehardening of the plants between the locations. Both twigs and buds of Salix pentandra L. and Populus tremula L. survived liquid nitrogen in January–February.  相似文献

Studies of hybridization have increased our understanding of the nature of species boundaries, the process of speciation, and the effects of hybridization on the evolution of populations and species. In the present study we use genetic and morphological data to determine the outcome and consequences of secondary contact and hybridization between the butterfly species Lycaeides idas and L. melissa in the Rocky Mountains. Admixture proportions estimated from structure and geographical cline analysis indicate L. idas and L. melissa have hybridized extensively in the Rocky Mountains and that reproductive isolation was insufficient to prevent introgression for much of the genome. Geographical patterns of admixture suggest that hybridization between L. idas and L. melissa has led to the formation of a hybrid zone. The hybrid zone is relatively wide, given estimates of dispersal for Lycaeides butterflies, and does not show strong evidence of cline concordance among characters. We believe the structure of the Lycaeides hybrid zone might be best explained by the patchy distribution of Lycaeides, local extinction and colonization of habitat patches, environmental variation and weak overall selection against hybrids. We found no evidence that hybridization in the Rocky Mountains has resulted in the formation of independent hybrid species, in contrast to the outcome of hybridization between L. idas and L. melissa in the Sierra Nevada. Finally, our results suggest that differences in male morphology between L. idas and L. melissa might contribute to isolation, or perhaps even that selection has favoured the spread of L. melissa male genitalia alleles.  相似文献

Summary The scale insect, Toumeyella sp., feeds exclusively on the subtropical hammock tree lignum vitae (Guaiacum sanctum L.). The combined effects of scale herbivory and shading on leaf gas exchange characteristics and growth of lignum vitae trees were studied using a factorial design. Trees grown in full sun or in 75% shade were manually infested with scale or left noninfested. Beginning 4 weeks after infestation, net CO2 assimilation, stomatal conductance, transpiration, internal partial pressure of CO2, and water-use efficiency were determined on single-leaves at 4-week intervals for trees in each treatment. At the end of the experiment, net CO2 assimilation was determined for whole plants. Total leaf area, leaf, stem, and root dry weights, and leaf chlorophyll and nitrogen concentrations were also determined. Scale infested trees generally had lower net CO2 assimilation, stomatal conductance, and transpiration rates as well as less leaf area, and root, stem, and leaf dry weights than noninfested trees. Twenty four weeks after the shade treatment was imposed, sun-grown trees had approximately twice the leaf area of shade-grown trees. Shade-grown trees compensated for the reduced leaf area by increasing their photosynthetic efficiency. This resulted in no difference in light saturated net CO2 assimilation on a whole plant basis between sun-grown and shade-grown trees. Chlorophyll and nitrogen concentrations per unit leaf area were greater in leaves of shade-grown trees than in leaves of sun-grown trees. Shading and herbivory by Toumeyella sp. each resulted in decreased growth of Guaiacum sanctum. Scale insect herbivory did not result in greater detrimental effects on leaf gas exchange characteristics for shade-grown than for sun-grown trees. Herbivory by Toumeyella resulted in a greater decrease in tree growth for sun-grown than for shade-grown trees.  相似文献

The spatial distribution of macrophytes (Ruppia drepanensis) Tineo and Lamprothamnium papulosum (Wallr.) J. Gr. was studied along transects perpendicular to the shoreline in Lake Gallocanta (Aragón, NE Spain) in 1988 and 1990. In the shallow zone, a gradient from the shoreline to offshore waters was clear: Small R. drepanensis plants were the only colonizers of nearshore waters affected by wave action and desiccation. R. drepanensis and L. papulosum coexisted at intermediate depths in the shallow zone. L. papulosum reached higher biomasses than R. drepanensis in the deepest parts of the shallow zone. In the deepest zone of the lake, stands of the two species did not overlap. Individual plants of R. drepanensis occured patchily within a sparse prairie of L. papulosum.This spatial pattern was observed at different lake levels, suggesting that macrophytes are adapted to fluctuations of environmental conditions. In very shallow water the macrophytes decay as indicated by negative net production and low chlorophyll a/chlorophyll b and plant K+ concentration/water K+ concentration ratios.  相似文献

River Red Gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh.) are large trees that dominated many of continental Australia's riparian areas, providing abundant hollows for nesting and denning fauna. Land clearing and forestry have reduced the availability of large trees, and much of the remaining forest is dominated by small regrowth trees that lack visible hollow entrances. Inspection of recently felled River Red Gums revealed that heartwood decay, a precursor of hollow formation, can be common in relatively small trees. Internal decay and voids remain inaccessible until stochastic damage exposes them, which may not occur until the tree is old, and hence probably large. This discrepancy indicates that there is likely to be a size range of trees into which artificial entrances can be added to quickly increase hollow availability in landscapes undergoing active restoration as fauna habitat.  相似文献

Most nonmammalian synapsids possess a mid‐dorsal depression in the brain cavity known as the “unossified zone.” It remains obscure which structures this zone contained, and, as candidates, the vermis of the cerebellum, the superior sagittal sinus, a junction of several blood vessels, the pineal gland or other midbrain structures were considered. Neutron tomography of a skull of Diictodon feliceps (Therapsida, Anomodontia) revealed some clear impressions of canals in this region of the brain cavity. Furthermore, the prootic sinus probably ran on the internal surface of the pila antotica and had a similar course in anomodonts as it has been proposed for cynodonts and Mesozoic mammals. Comparisons with the vascular systems of nonmammalian synapsids and mammals suggest that the unossified zone is best interpreted as a terminal chamber of the anterior segment of the medial head vein, which housed the junction of the superior sagittal sinus and the transverse sinuses. Consequently, the system of cranial vessels in Diictodon reveals a partial division of the medial head vein system into an anterior and a posterior segment at an early stage of synapsid evolution, which is consistent with the well‐known common pattern of early ontogenetic development in amniotes. Aims: To develop fast and reliable sampling procedures for DNA‐based diagnosis of wood decay fungi in standing trees. Methods and Results: A total of 250 trees were tested for the presence of a suite of wood decay fungi by collecting wood frass obtained by drilling each tree once with a 4‐mm‐diameter, 43‐cm‐long bit. We identified at least one of 11 target wood decay fungi in 56 trees through multiplex PCR assays. The presence of target wood decay taxa was further investigated in these 56 trees, by analysing independently wood from each of six drillings. Results were then compared with those obtained using sampling schemes differing in terms of number and position of drillings. Samples of 1–4 drillings were either analysed separately, and the results were combined, or pooled together before analysis was performed. In comparison with taxa identified by the analysis of six drillings, diagnostic efficiency ranged from 56·6% for the scheme based on a single drill to 96·8% for the scheme based on four drillings analysed separately. Both schemes significantly differ (P < 0·05) from those based on two and three drillings, whose efficiency was 72·6% and 83·9%, respectively. Diagnostic efficiency of pooled samples was comparable to that of samples analysed separately. Conclusions: Highest diagnostic efficiency was obtained by analysing wood from four drillings. It is advisable to pool samples deriving from different drillings to reduce laboratory costs. Significance and Impact of the Study: Fast and reliable sampling procedures make DNA‐based diagnosis more suitable for tree inspection procedures.  相似文献

Somatic embryogenesis is an in vitro clonal propagation method with potential to contribute to the improvement of cacao varieties. Before using this technology for commercial production, it is essential that somatic embryogenesis-derived plants be tested in field conditions. Therefore, we established a field test at Union Vale Estate, Saint Lucia. Thirty- to 50-yr-old trees were selected for clonal propagation as potentially high yielding based on local farmers observations. Clonal plants were propagated in vitro from immature flowers by embryogenesis and micropropagation. Multiple plants from nine genotypes were acclimated to greenhouse conditions then returned to Saint Lucia and planted in a field. Orthotropic rooted cuttings and locally propagated open pollinated seedlings were also planted for a total of 214 trees. Growth data were collected every 4–6 mo. including: stem diameter, stem height, length of the longest jorquette branch, number of jorquette branches, and dates of first flowering and fruiting. At 4.5 yr after planting in the field there were no major differences in all growth parameters among the propagation methods evaluated with exception of the orthotropic rooted cuttings. Trees grown from seeds were slightly taller then trees propagated by the other methods. Trees propagated as orthotropic rooted cuttings exhibited smaller average stem diameters, shorter stem heights to the jorquette, and shorter jorquette branches. We concluded that somatic embryo-derived plants demonstrated normal phenotypes in field conditions and have growth parameters similar to plants propagated by traditional methods.  相似文献

叶和细根(2mm)是森林生态系统的分解主体,二者是否协同分解,将极大影响所属植物在生态系统碳(C)循环中的物种效应。已有研究显示,叶和细根的分解关系具有极大的不确定性,认为很大程度上归因于细根内部具有高度的异质性,导致叶和细根在功能上不相似。为此,使用末梢1级根和细根根枝作为研究对象,它们在功能上同叶类似,称为吸收根。通过分解包法,分别在黑龙江帽儿山和广东鹤山,研究了2个阔叶树种和2个针叶树种(共8个树种)的叶和吸收根持续2a多的分解。结果发现,分解速率k(a~(-1),负指数模型)在8个树种整体分析时具有正相关关系(P0.05),在相同气候带或植物生活型水平上是否相关,受叶的分解环境及吸收根类型的影响;N剩余量整体上并不相关,亚热带树种的叶和细根根枝的N剩余量在分解1a后高度显著正相关,温带树种的叶和1级根的N剩余量在分解2a后显著高度正相关。本研究中,根-叶分解过程是否受控于相同或相关的凋落物性质是决定根-叶分解是否相关的重要原因,其中分解速率与酸溶组分正相关、与酸不溶组分负相关。比较已有研究,总结发现,根-叶分解关系受物种影响较大,暗示气候变化导致物种组成的改变将极大影响地上-地下关系,也因此影响生态系统C循环。  相似文献
