Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three fish species (Gymnodiptychus pachycheilus (Herzenstein, 1892), Triplophysa bleekeri (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874) and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012)) from the Yalong River in China. Samples were obtained between March 2009 and July 2013 using gillnets (25 × 12 m, mesh size 0.5 cm) and fish cages (0.5 × 0.5 × 10 m, mesh size 0.5 cm mesh). For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for these three species were unknown.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three cyprinid fish species [Acrossocheilus yunnanensis (Regan, 1904), Onychostoma simum (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874) and Spinibarbus sinensis (Bleeker, 1871)] from southwestern China. Samples were obtained with various fishing gear (set nets, drift gill nets, fish cages, hook and electrofishing). Prior to this study, the LWRs for these three species (A. yunnanensis, O. simum and S. sinensis) were unknown.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) were evaluated for five species: Schizothorax integrilabiatus (Wu et al., 1992); Shizopygopsis stoliczkai Steindachner, 1866; Gymnocypris chui Tchang, Yueh & Hwang, 1964; Gymnocypris scleracanthus Tsao, Wu, Chen & Zhu, 1992; and Triplophysa tibetana (Regan, 1905). A total of 567 specimens were collected whereby S. integrilabiatus was caught with 12‐volt electric fishing gear (water depth, 1 m) in Buqun Lake in May 2015. Both G. chui and G. scleracantus were caught with 12‐volt electric fishing gear (water depth,1 m) and set gillnets (mesh size 3 cm) in Lange Lake in July 2015, S. stoliczkhai was caught with 3 cm mesh size set gillnets in Shiquan River in August 2015, T. tibetana was caught with 12 V electric fishing gear in the Zhongba reach of the Yarlung Zangbo River in August 2015. This study provides the first published length–weight references on LWR for the five species. New maximum total lengths were recorded for three species, including Shizopygopsis stoliczkai, Gymnocypris chui, and Gymnocypris scleracanthus.  相似文献

In the present paper the length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for Jinshaia sinensis Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874; Triplophysa anterodorsalis Zhu & Cao, 1989; Liobagrus marginatus Günther, 1892; and Glyptothorax sinensis Regan, 1908 caught in the Heishui River in July 2014. The specimens were caught with fishing gear including drifting gillnets (mesh size 4 cm) and shrimp cages. This paper provides new data on LWRs for FishBase.  相似文献

This study presents the length–weight (LWR) and length–length relationships (LLR) of four fish species (Gymnocypris namensis Wu & Ren, 1982; Herzensteinia microcephalus Herzenstein, 1891; Triplophysa stenura Herzenstein, 1888; and Triplophysa brevicauda Herzenstein, 1888) collected from the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau, China. A total of 291 specimens was collected using electric fishing (12V), gill nets (mesh size: 2 × 2 cm, 3 × 3 cm) and cast nets (mesh size: 2 × 2 cm), in July 1998 and October 2014.  相似文献

The length‐weight (LWR) and length‐length relationships (LLR) were estimated for three endemic fish species, including Schizothorax waltoni Regan, 1905, Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, and Schizothorax macropogon Regan, 1905 in the Yarlung Tsangpo River. A total of 399 specimens were collected using gillnets and cast nets during February to August 2012 and March to May 2013. Length–weight relationships and length–length were evaluated for three fish species (Schizopygopsis younghusbandi Regan, 1905; Ptychobarbus dipogon Regan, 1905 and Oxygymnocypris stewartii Lloyd, 1908) from the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet. Specimens were captured monthly using floating gillnets (mesh size 7.5 cm), bottom gillnets (mesh size 6.5 cm), and trap nets (mesh size 1.5 mm) from August 2008 to August 2009, March to August 2012, and March to April 2013. Regression coefficient (b) values of length–weight relationships (LWRs) ranged from 3.045 for P. dipogon to 3.193 for O. stewartii, whereas the a values ranged from 0.0040 to 0.0168 for O. stewartii and P. dipogon, respectively.  相似文献

Samples were collected seasonally from August 2016 to October 2017, using various fishing gears [set nets (mesh: 1.5 cm × 2.0 cm), hook, drift gill nets (mesh: 1.0 cm × 2.0 cm × 3.0 cm) and electro fishing]. Length‐weight relationships were estimated for five Triplophysa species from the northwest China. A total of 1,598 specimens were collected using set gillnets (mesh size 1.5 cm) and ground bamboo cages in May 2012, and August 2014. This study presents the first references on LWRs for Triplophysa minuta, T. siluroides, and T. tenuis, and two new maximum length records for T. yarkandensis and T. strauchii. Statistical length–weight relationships for all five species were highly significant (p < .001), with R2 values >.915.  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for six non‐indigenous fish species, namely, Apogon smithi (Kotthaus, 1970); Ostorhinchus fasciatus (White, 1790); Pomadasys stridens (Forsskål, 1775); Champsodon capensis Regan, 1908; Torquigener flavimaculosus Hardy & Randall, 1983; and Tylerius spinosissimus (Regan, 1908) from Iskenderun Bay, eastern Mediterranean Sea. Their length–weight relationship b values ranged from 2.902 to 3.501, and all regressions were found to be significant for all six species (P < 0.001). This study is the first reference on length–weight relationships for these six non‐indigenous fish species from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea coast of Turkey.  相似文献

The focus was on the length–weight relationships of three schizothoracinae species endemic to Tibet, including Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, Ptychobarbus dipogon (Regan, 1905) and Schizopygopsis younghusbandi Regan, 1905, all of which are characterized by slow growth, late maturation and vulnerability to the environment (Ma et al., 2010, 2012; Duan et al., 2014). Among them, Schizothorax oconnori is an endangered fish and listed in the China species Red List (Wang and Xie, 2004, 2009). Samples were obtained by drift net fishing (mesh size 2 cm × 3 cm; 50 m net length) in November 2008. The r2 value was 0.94, 0.97, 0.98 and the b value 3.51, 3.12, 3.16, representing Schizothorax oconnori, Ptychobarbus dipogon, and Schizopygopsis younghusbandi, respectively.  相似文献

This study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for four fish species [Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872); Opsariichthys bidens Günther, 1873; Xenocypris yunnanensis Nichols, 1925; and Sinogastromyzon sichangensis Chang, 1944] collected from the Niulan River, China. Samples were obtained between April 2008 and June 2011 using various types of fishing gear [drift gill nets (mesh: 5 × 5 cm), hook and electro fishing]. A total of 136 specimens belonging to four fish species were analyzed. For each species the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis were unknown. New maximum sizes for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis are also provided.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three fish species (Acanthopagrus latus Houttuyn, 1782; Acentrogobius caninus Valenciennes, 1837; and Nematalosa japonica Regan, 1917). Samples were collected from the East China Sea (N 27.306020, E 120.918026), from May to July in 2015–2016. Samples were collected using commercial trawls (5 cm main trawl and 3 cm codend mesh). Length‐weight relationships were estimated for three species (Triplophysa microphysa, Triplophysa zamegacephala and Gobio coriparoides) belonging to two families and two genera from northern China. Specimens were collected using trap nets (mesh size 1 cm) in May, June and December 2017, and March 2018. Total length (TL) for each individual was determined to the nearest 0.1 cm by digital slide caliper and each body weight (BW) to an accuracy of 0.1 g using digital balance. The b‐values for LWRs varied from 2.583 to 2.876 (r> 0.979). This biometric data and their relationships are relevant to the management and conservation for local fishes and fisheries.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) and length‐length relationships (LLRs) for two tropical fish species from Marudu Bay, Sabah were studied. Specimens were caught with the traditional ‘Bagan net’ fishing gear from October 2012 to September 2013, using the light trap method. The maximum total length for Rhabdamia gracilis (7.4 cm) reported in this study is a new record for this species. No information regarding length‐weight relationships was reported previously in FishBase for either Secutor megalolepis or Rhabdamia gracilis.  相似文献

All fish sample were collected using gillnets (15 × 5 m, mesh‐size 5 mm) from Moyangjiang River, China. Samples were collected quarterly from July 2006 to August 2007. The length–weight relationships are reported for eight fish species, Hemimyzon yaotanensis (Fang, 1931), Leptobotia taeniops (Sauvage, 1878), Liobagrus nigricauda Regan, 1904, Pseudobagrus crassilabris (Günther, 1864), Pseudobagrus pratti (Günther, 1892), Pseudolaubuca engraulis (Nichols, 1925), Rhinogobio cylindricus Günther, 1888, and Sinogastromyzon szechuanensis Fang, 1930. Specimens were collected from the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, southwest China during November 2010 to December 2015. Fish were sampled by various types of fishing gear (mesh size: 1–12 cm) and baited hooks. Compared to the information in FishBase, length–weight relationships for two fish species and seven maximum lengths were presented here for the first time.  相似文献

Length‐weight (LWRs) and length–length (LLRs) relationships are reported for three fish species belonging to two families and two genera from the Heihe River, northwest China. Fish samples were collected using trap nets (mesh size 1 cm) in May and December of 2016, and April and October 2017. Standard length (SL) and total length (TL) for each individual were measured to the nearest 0.1 cm by digital slide caliper and each body weight (BW) was measured to an accuracy of 0.1 g using digital balance. The b‐values for LWRs varied from 2.580 to 3.164 (r2 > .956). The results further indicated that the LLRs were highly correlated (r> .991; < .01). This study presents the first references on LWRs for Gymnocypris chilianensis and Triplophysa hsutschouensis, and LLRs for G. chilianensis, Triplophysa leptosoma and Thsutschouensis. This biometric data and their relationships are relevant to the management and conservation of local fishes and fisheries.  相似文献
