The present study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of 13 fish species belonging to eight families that were collected in Rongcheng Bay, March 2009 to December 2014. The r2 values ranged from 0.953 to 0.994 and values of b varied from 2.542 to 3.454. The study also describes the total length – standard length relationships (LLRs) for these fish species. This is the first record of length–weight and length–length relationships for the fish species in this area.  相似文献

The present work provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) and total length – standard length relationships (LLRs) of 11 fish species belonging to six families. The fishes were collected from seasonal bottom trawl surveys in the Zhimai River estuary, March 2011 to May 2013. The present study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for 18 estuarine species sampled in Guaratuba Bay, South Brazil. For the majority of these 18 species the LWRs are known from the literature, but these estimates do not consider sexes separately which is done in this contribution. Different fishing gears were used in the samplings (cylindrical nets – 1 mm mesh size, bottom trawls – 250 mm mesh size in the arms and 12 mm mesh size in the bag, beach seine – 5 mm mesh size and hook and line fishery) between September 2007 to April 2014. The specimens were sexed and the LWRs were calculated for each sex separately. There were differences between sexes in growth type, showing the importance of sexing in these studies. We reported for the first time (based on FishBase) the LWRs for two species: Ctenogobius shufeldti and Hypleurochilus fissicornis.  相似文献

The study presents length–weight relationships (LWR) and length–length relationships (LLR) for 23 fish species captured in the Porto Primavera Reservoir, Upper Paraná River. Seventeen of the LWRs and 20 of the LLRs are reported for the first time. New maximum standard lengths are presented for 17 species as well as weights for three species and new total weight records for 19 species.  相似文献

The length weight relationships (LWRs) of six tropical fish species from Chilika Lagoon, India were studied. Specimens were caught using a wide range of fishing gear operated in the lagoon from January to December 2014. The fresh specimens were measured for total length and weight, then dissected and the sex confirmed. Previously unavailable in FishBase, the detailed LWRs of Daysciaena albida, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Etroplus suratensis and Mystus gulio are reported for the first time. Maximum total lengths reported for Nematalosa nasus and Osteogeneiosus militaris in this study are new records for these species. The existence of a differential growth between male and female O. militaris was confirmed, which was not known earlier.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) in the present study were determined for three fish species: Collichthys niveatus Jordan & Starks, 1906; Ctenotrypauchen chinensis Steindachner, 1867 and Liparis tanakae (Gilbert & Burke, 1912), collected from Liaodong Bay, Bohai Sea, China using bottom trawl nets from June to August 2014. The b parameters in the fitted LWRs for the three fish species were 2.882, 2.991 and 3.353, respectively. A new maximum total length (15.6 cm) for C. chinensis was recorded. The LWRs for the three fish species are first reported in FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for 35 freshwater fish species from the SP/RJ coastal basin in Brazil are presented in this paper. Fishes were captured between 2011 and 2015 on an irregular basis using electrofishing, sieves, trawl nets, cast nets and fish‐traps. In this study new LWRs are reported for 28 species, plus the total weight and length for 34 and nine species, respectively. The study provides new information on less‐studied species and can serve as a basis for management and conservation in this area.  相似文献

This study provides the total length–weight relationships (LWRs) for five fish species collected from the Nujiang River, southwest China. Samples were obtained in May 2015 and May 2016 using drift net and electroshock fishing techniques. A total of 502 specimens belonging to five fish species were analyzed; their LWRs were calculated. The five fish were Schizothorax nukiangensis, Akrokolioplax bicornis, Creteuchiloglanis kamengensis, Channa gachua and Glyptothorax trilineatus. Prior to this study, the length‐weight relationship for S. nukiangensis is unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for A. bicornis and C. kamengensis.These results are useful for fishery research, conservation and management in the Nujiang River.  相似文献

From February to October 2016, a total of 9,754 fish specimens were collected from the Yiluo River, a tributary of the Yellow River, China's second longest river. Based on these samples, length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) were estimated for 26 species. Among these data, LWRs for 1 species, LLRs for 11 species, and maximum total lengths for six species were not previously recorded in FishBase. The a values of the LWRs varied between 0.0019 and 0.0116, and b values from 2.805 to 3.883. All regressions for LWRs and LLRs were highly significant (< .001). These results will be useful for sustainable management and conservation of the fish resources in the Yiluo River and the Yellow River ecosystem.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships (LWRs and LLRs) for eight fish species collected quarterly by trawl net in Bohai Bay, China, were estimated in a total of 1,395 specimens from 2012 to 2015. These were Pholis fangi, Setipinna taty, Engraulis japonicus, Larimichthys polyactis, Thryssa kammalensis, Scomberomorus niphonius, Johnius grypotus and Sardinella zunasi. Length‐weight and length‐length relationships were estimated for four native fish species from the Yalong River and its tributaries, China. A total of 976 specimens were collected monthly using trap nets and electric fishing in May 2013 and July 2015 to February 2016. This study presents the first references on LWRs (length–weight relationships) and LLRs (length–length relationships) for three species (Gymnocypris firmispinatus, Paracobitis variegatus and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei). Moreover, maturation length, absolute fecundity and predominant food items for the four species were also described in the study.  相似文献

Length‐weight (LWRs) and length–length (LLRs) relationships are reported for three fish species belonging to two families and two genera from the Heihe River, northwest China. Fish samples were collected using trap nets (mesh size 1 cm) in May and December of 2016, and April and October 2017. Standard length (SL) and total length (TL) for each individual were measured to the nearest 0.1 cm by digital slide caliper and each body weight (BW) was measured to an accuracy of 0.1 g using digital balance. The b‐values for LWRs varied from 2.580 to 3.164 (r2 > .956). The results further indicated that the LLRs were highly correlated (r> .991; < .01). This study presents the first references on LWRs for Gymnocypris chilianensis and Triplophysa hsutschouensis, and LLRs for G. chilianensis, Triplophysa leptosoma and Thsutschouensis. This biometric data and their relationships are relevant to the management and conservation of local fishes and fisheries.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) and length‐length relationships (LLRs) for two tropical fish species from Marudu Bay, Sabah were studied. Specimens were caught with the traditional ‘Bagan net’ fishing gear from October 2012 to September 2013, using the light trap method. The maximum total length for Rhabdamia gracilis (7.4 cm) reported in this study is a new record for this species. No information regarding length‐weight relationships was reported previously in FishBase for either Secutor megalolepis or Rhabdamia gracilis.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of five fish species commonly associated with Antarctic krill fishery, were determined. Samples were collected with Chinese krill trawler (codend mesh size 2 cm) in the Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean from January to August 2016. Data on LWRs and the relationships between weight and standard length as well as weight and total length of those species were updated for the database of FishBase. Those data on fish species derived from Antarctic krill fishery will be very helpful in understanding the interaction between krill fishery and the associated fish community.  相似文献

Specimens of 43 fish species belonging to 25 families were collected from seasonal bottom trawl surveys in Haizhou Bay from March to December 2011. The length–weight relationships (LWRs) of these fish species were estimated, with 22 species presented for the first time. Maximum total length records of ten species exceeded those in FishBase. The effects of sex, season and growth phase on the relationships for some of these species were taken into account whereby one species had significantly (P < 0.05) different LWRs by sex, and eight species exhibited significantly different LWRs by season. Two different growth stanzas were detected for two species using the double‐logarithmic plot of body weight versus total length.  相似文献
