Length–weight relationships (LWR) are presented for five commercial freshwater fish species (Luciobarbus esocinus, Heckel, 1843; Capoeta trutta, Heckel, 1843; Barbus lacerta, Heckel, 1843; Luciobarbus mystaceus, Pallas, 1814 and Capoeta umbla, Heckel, 1843) collected from Keban Dam Lake located in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Studied samples were obtained between July and December 2008 using commercial gill nets. For each species the sample size, length range, weight range, length‐weight relationships, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, coefficient of correlation and growth type are given. Values of b were between 2.915 (Luciobarbus esocinus) and 3.079 (Copoeta trutta) and r2 values from 0.919 (Copoeta trutta) to 0.987 (Barbus lacerta) in the study. New maximum length and length–weight relationships are reported for Barbus lacerta and Luciobarbus mystaceus.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for Acanthobrama mirabilis, Barbus pectoralis, Chondrostoma meandrense, Capoeta bergamae, Silurus glanis, Petroleuciscus smyrnaeus and Cyprinus carpio from the Kemer reservoir in western Anatolia, Turkey. The length–weight relationships (LWR) for three fish species collected in Sirwan River, located in Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces, western Iran, were estimated. The values of the slope parameter (b) in the length–weight relationship equations were determined as 3.086 for Alburnus mossulensis, 3.382 for Alburnus filippii and 3.425 for Capoeta damascina, all significantly different from the expected = 3 value, indicating a positive allometric growth pattern for all the three species.  相似文献

Fish diversity and distributions in 33 streams of the Amanos Mountains were investigated between December 2002 and November 2003. Some physical and chemical parameters, such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, pH, and velocity of the streams were measured periodically at each site. The study area was grouped into three regions: AS (Asi Basin), IS (?skenderun Gulf) and CE (Çevlik region). Fish abundance and Shannon Diversity Index were computed for each region. CE region was the poorest compared to the others in terms of fish abundance and diversity. A total of nine species in four families (Cyprinidae, Balitoridae, Anguillidae, Blenniidae) were recorded and all species collected were found to be indigenous. Capoeta barroisi (42.2%) and Garra rufa (33.3%) were the most common and abundant species and Salaria fluviatilis (0.4%), Carasobarbus luteus (0.9%), Anguilla anguilla (1.0%) and Alburnus sellal (1.2%) were the most rarely encountered species in the Amanos Mts. The endangered species Alburnus orontis is also rarely found. Fish diversity was greater in perennial streams (0.62) than in intermittent streams (0.27). There are many adverse human impacts on fish fauna in the Amanos Mountain streams; however, numbers of intermittent streams impose the greatest threat to fish in the Amanos Mts.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for one percoid (Johnius coitor) and three cyprinid (Garra birostris, Garra annandalei and Raiamas bola) fish species from the Brahmaputra River basin in Assam, Northeast India, was studied on a monthly basis from November 2015 to December 2016, using fishing gears namely, cast nets (9′, 1/2″) and gillnets (30 × 0.9 m). Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 31 teleost fish species caught in the Babadillimani Bight on the western entrance of Mersin Bay, Turkey. Sampling was carried out from May 1999 to April 2000 at monthly intervals using bottom trawl nets of 6 mm cod‐end mesh size. The b values varied from 2.662 for Echelus myrus to 3.395 for Gobius niger, with a mean of 3.024 (±0.166). This study presents the first estimation of LWR for seven species (Blennius ocellaris, Centracanthus cirrus, E. myrus, Engraulis encrasicolus, G. niger, Synodus saurus, and Zeus faber) distributed along the northeastern Mediterranean coastal area.  相似文献

In this study the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for two fish species, Alburnus mossulensis and Luciobarbus esocinus, were analyzed based on seasonal samplings from 2013 and 2014. The specimens were collected by cast‐ and dip net from the Karun River Basin in the Zagros Mountains, Iran. The b values in the LWRs were determined as 2.9996 for A. zagrosensis and 2.6546 for L. esocinus.  相似文献

Three new Dactylogyrus species, D. rectotrabus n. sp. and D. acinacus n. sp. from Garra rufa plus D. carassobarbi n. sp. from Carassobarbus luteus are described from River Dez (Persian Gulf Basin) of Iran. Three known species, D. haplogonus from Rutilus frisii kutum, D. chalcalburni from Alburnus alburnus and Alburnoides bipunctatus, and D. pavlovskyi from Barbus sharpeyi are recorded from the Rivers Sefid (Caspian Basin), Zayandeh (Central Iran) and Dez (Tigris-Euphrates Basin), respectively. Comments on the monogenean fauna of Iranian freshwater fishes are presented.  相似文献

This study describes the length–weight relationship (LWR) of Pseudophoxinus alii from the Yamansaz Lake, a coastal freshwater lake in Antalya, Turkey. A total of 105 specimens were obtained using a variety of nets between April 2007 and March 2008. Total lengths ranged from 3.4 to 14.3 cm. The length–weight relationship showed a positive allometric growth (b = 3.012; R2 = 0.988). The study presents the first reference on LWR for this threatened species. The results also indicate a new maximum total length not previously reported in the international literature.  相似文献

This study reports the length–weight relationship (LWR) and length‐length relationship (LLR) estimated for four fish species inhabiting in Chilika Lake, India. Total 504 specimens were sampled from mono‐filament gill nets (mesh size 12 mm, 22–24 mm, 34–38 mm, 42 mm) during January 2015 to December 2015. The estimated b values from LWR ranged between 2.79 (T. biaculeatus) to 3.29 (C. praeustus). In all species, the relationships between length‐weight and length‐length were highly correlated (p < .05). The study provides first world reports on LWRs and LLRs for all the 4 studied species.  相似文献

Seasonal variations in Fulton’s condition factor (K) and the length–weight relationship (LWR) were investigated for Capoeta sieboldii in the upper Çoruh River (Turkey) from March 2000 to February 2001. There was a slight seasonal variation in condition, with generally lower values in summer and winter, and higher values in autumn. LWR was calculated as W = 0.016 × L2.933, W = 0.014 ×L3.001, and W = 0.009 × L3.118 for males, females, and juveniles, respectively.  相似文献

The phylogenetic relationship between two sympatric morphotypes of the Iran cave barb Iranocypris typhlops, and Garra rufa, was investigated by sequencing the cytochrome c oxidase I (coI) region (788 bp) providing the first molecular evidence of their phylogeny. Consistent with their morphological differences, the mean genetic distance between the two forms of I. typhlops was significantly higher than generally reported for intraspecific divergence in freshwater fishes. They were phylogenetically closer to G. rufa than to any other species.  相似文献

This study describes the length–weight and length–length relationships for three cyprinid species from the Bibi‐Sayyedan River (western Isfahan provinces, Iran). The slope parameter (b) values in the length–weight relationship equations were determined as 3.0729 for Alburnus mossulensis Heckel, 1843; 2.8509 for Barbus lacerta Heckel, 1843; and 3.0864 for Chondrostoma regium (Heckel, 1843). The morphometric relationships of three native and one exotic freshwater fish species from the Lower San Juan and Lower Pisco River basins, central Coast of Peru, are presented. Specimens were collected in May and November 2010 using seine nets and electrofishing. Length‐Weight (LWR) relationships for Andinoacara stalsbergi, Trichomycterus punctulatus, Basilichthys archaeus and Poecilia reticulata are provided for the first time, contributing information towards the effort to conserve freshwater fishes.  相似文献

The length weight relationships (LWRs) of ten tropical finfish species from north eastern Arabian Sea, India were studied. Specimens were caught using a wide range of fishing gear mainly trawl nets (20–25 mm), dol nets or bag nets (20–40 mm) and gill nets (80–270 mm) operated in Maharashtra maritime waters during 2012–2016. The specimens were measured for total length, and weight, then dissected and the sex confirmed. Previously unavailable in FishBase, the detailed LWR of Polydactylus mullani is reported for the first time. Maximum total lengths presented for six species in this study are new records. The existence of a differential growth between male and female was confirmed for five species, which was not known earlier. The LWR data will be useful for deriving future sustainable management and conservation strategies.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) for three cyprinid fish species collected from the headwaters of the Nujiang River in Tibet, China, were determined. The values of parameter b in the LWR equations were estimated as 2.54 for Schizopygopsis thermalis, 3.3 for Ptychobarbus kaznakovi, and 2.74 for Schizothorax nukiangensis, respectively.
