The length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for two native cyprinid fishes: Poropuntius opisthopterus (Wu, 1977) and Raiamas christyi (Boulenger, 1920) collected from the upper reaches of Nujiang River (31°33′29″N; 92°55′58″E), Southwest of China. A total of 162 specimens were collected quarterly between March 2015 and November 2016. Fish were sampled by electrofishing in 12 wadable sites with maximum water depth 60–70 cm. The b values parameter in the length–weight relationship equations were calculated as 2.90 for P. opisthopterus and 3.45 for R. christyi. This study represents a new maximum standard length record for P. opisthopterus.  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for five fish species from the Beijiang River in China. Fishes were caught by gill nets (mesh sizes: 5, 7, 9 cm), and cage nets (mesh sizes: 0.5 cm) from April to September 2018. Length–weight relationships of four species were unknown to FishBase, and new records of maximum lengths are given for two species, one of which, Ancherythroculter lini, is endemic species of the Pearl River. All length–weight relationships were highly significant on a log scale with the coefficient of determination (r2) values ranged from 0.939 to 0.991. Values of b were within the expected range, varied from 2.935 for A. lini to 3.414 for Parasinilabeo assimilis.  相似文献

This study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of Acrossocheilus beijiangensis Wu & Lin, 1977 and Barbodes semifasciolatus (Günther, 1868) from the upper reaches of Beijiang River, Guangdong Province, China. Sample sizes for the two fish species were 335 for A. beijiangensis and 106 for B. semifasciolatus. Fishes were collected on a monthly basis between November 2013 and December 2014 using gill nets (30 m long × 1.2 m high, mesh‐size 1.5 cm) and fish cages (mesh‐size 0.5 cm). LWRs were established as W = 0.0052L3.3249 (r2 = .9696) for A. beijiangensis and W = 0.0088L3.2405 (r2 = .9469) for B. semifasciolatus. No previous information is available on LWRs for these two species in FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for eight native fish species collected in the lower reaches of the Pearl River, Guangdong Province, South China. Fish were sampled in March and September 2014 and January 2015, using gillnets with various mesh sizes (5–8 cm) and trawl nets with a 3 cm mesh size. A total of 568 specimens of the eight species were analyzed. The r2 values for these species ranged from 0.951 to 0.991. The b values ranged from 3.00 for Takifugu ocellatus and Moolgarda cunnesius, to 3.57 for Clupanodon thrissa. New maximum total lengths are recorded for Takifugu ocellatus (17.6 cm) and Liza carinata (24.4 cm). For five species (Clupanodon thrissa, Megalobrama terminalis, Collichthys lucidus, Coilia grayii, Takifugu ocellatus), the LWRs are presented to fishbase for the first time.  相似文献

This study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for four fish species [Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872); Opsariichthys bidens Günther, 1873; Xenocypris yunnanensis Nichols, 1925; and Sinogastromyzon sichangensis Chang, 1944] collected from the Niulan River, China. Samples were obtained between April 2008 and June 2011 using various types of fishing gear [drift gill nets (mesh: 5 × 5 cm), hook and electro fishing]. A total of 136 specimens belonging to four fish species were analyzed. For each species the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis were unknown. New maximum sizes for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis are also provided.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for six endemic fish species [Glyptothorax fokiensis (Rendahl, 1925), Lepturichthys fimbriata (Günther, 1888), Liobagrus marginatus (Günther, 1892), Percocypris pingi (Tchang, 1930), Pseudobagrus pratti (Günther, 1892) and Sinibotia superciliaris (Günther, 1892)] from the Pan Zhihua reach of the Jinsha River, which is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, southwest China. Samples were obtained between May 2004 and April 2012 using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Values of b were between 2.306 for P. pratti and 2.934 for P. pingi, and r2 values ranged from 0.952 for G. fokiensis to 0.995 for P. pingi. Prior to this study, the LWRs for three of these endemic species were unknown.  相似文献

The present study narrated the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three fish species Salmophasia sardinella (Valenciennes, 1844), Amblypharyngodon microlepis (Bleeker, 1853) and Macrognathus aral (Bloch & Scheider, 1801) from the Arial Khan River, a south‐eastward outlet of the river Padma, Bangladesh. Fish samples were collected monthly basis from fishermen who used cast nets (mesh size <0.5 cm) and set bag nets (mesh size 0.5 cm) for catching fish species from January to December, 2016. The growth coefficient b in LWRs were 3.004, 3.001 and 2.936 for M. aral, S. sardinella and A. microlepis, respectively.  相似文献

This study determined the length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) of seven freshwater fish from the Daning River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, southwest China. Specimens were collected between July 2016 and July 2017 using drift gill nets (mesh size 1, 2 and 3 cm), cage net (0.5 cm mesh size) and electroshock fishing techniques quaterly. Parameter b values of LWRs ranged from 2.647 to 3.276 (r2 > .963) and b values of LLRs ranged from 1.091 to 1.213(r2 > .985). Six new LLRs and seven new maximum length data are presented. The biometric data and their relationships are relevant to Fishers science to supplement other data sets needed for fisheries management.  相似文献

Length‐weight (LWRs) and length–length (LLRs) relationships are reported for three fish species belonging to two families and two genera from the Heihe River, northwest China. Fish samples were collected using trap nets (mesh size 1 cm) in May and December of 2016, and April and October 2017. Standard length (SL) and total length (TL) for each individual were measured to the nearest 0.1 cm by digital slide caliper and each body weight (BW) was measured to an accuracy of 0.1 g using digital balance. The b‐values for LWRs varied from 2.580 to 3.164 (r2 > .956). The results further indicated that the LLRs were highly correlated (r> .991; < .01). This study presents the first references on LWRs for Gymnocypris chilianensis and Triplophysa hsutschouensis, and LLRs for G. chilianensis, Triplophysa leptosoma and Thsutschouensis. This biometric data and their relationships are relevant to the management and conservation of local fishes and fisheries.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three fish species: Scomberomorus commerson, Alepes vari, and A. kleinii were estimated from Kerala waters, south‐west coast of India. Fish were captured between June 2016 and June 2017 by various gears such as ring seine (8–26 mm mesh size), trawl (30–40 mm cod end mesh size), hook and line (hook number VI–XII), smaller mesh sized drift gill net (26–90 mm) and larger one (120–170 mm) for bigger size fishes. Fish were collected on weekly basis from Cochin Fisheries Harbour (Lat. 09°56′327″N, Long. 76°15′764″E), Munambam Fisheries Harbour (Lat. 10°10′965″N, Long. 76°10′258″E), Kalamukku (Lat. 09°59′924″N, Long. 76°14′564″E) and Chellanam (Lat. 09°47′950″N, Long. 76°16′551″E). All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.944 to 0.996 and b values ranged from 2.722 to 3.021 (< .001). In addition, this study provides the information on LWRs and new maximum size for Alepes vari and A. kleinii.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for three small indigenous fish species, (Sinogastromyzon szechuanensis, Sinogastromyzon sichangensis and Sinocrossocheilus labiatus) in the upper Yangtze River, China. Samples were collected using three types of local traditional fishing gears, including gill nets (mesh size: 1 cm), fish cages (mesh size: 0.5 cm), and electrofishing techniques (CWB‐2000 P, 12V, 250 Hz), in April, July and October 2013 and 2014, and April and October 2016. The sample size for each species were gathered separately, with 100 for S. szechuanensis, 381 for S. sichangensis and 49 for S. labiatus from National Nature Reserve for rare and endemic fishes of the upper Yangtze River, China. The length‐weight relationship parameter values of b were calculated as 2.986 for S. szechuanensis (b: 2.854–3.118), and 3.284 for S. sichangensis (b: 3.209–3.359) and 3.119 for S. labiatus (b: 2.911–3.326). The primary data will be meaningful for further research about sustainable development and scientific management of fishery resources of the upper Yangtze River.  相似文献

From February to October 2016, a total of 9,754 fish specimens were collected from the Yiluo River, a tributary of the Yellow River, China's second longest river. Based on these samples, length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) were estimated for 26 species. Among these data, LWRs for 1 species, LLRs for 11 species, and maximum total lengths for six species were not previously recorded in FishBase. The a values of the LWRs varied between 0.0019 and 0.0116, and b values from 2.805 to 3.883. All regressions for LWRs and LLRs were highly significant (< .001). These results will be useful for sustainable management and conservation of the fish resources in the Yiluo River and the Yellow River ecosystem.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) are presented for the first time for three Ambassid fish species from the Ganges River, northwestern (NW) Bangladesh. Fish were sampled with traditional fishing gear including cast net (mesh size ranges from 1.0 to 2.0 cm), gill net (mesh size ranges from 1.5 to 2.5 cm), square lift net (mesh size ~ 1.0 cm) and conical and box trap, October 2014 to September 2015. Allometric coefficient (b) values were 3.00 for Chanda nama, 3.10 for Parambassis lala and 3.23 for Parambassis ranga, respectively. Additionally, the LLRs were highly significant with r2 ≥ .958. The present observations would be an effective tool for their stock assessment in the Ganges River, NW Bangladesh and surrounding ecosystems.  相似文献

The study presents length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) for three algae‐scraper species; Capoeta coadi from the Kouhrang River (Iran; 32°23′N, 50°08′E) a part of the Tigris drainage basin, Capoeta pyragyi from Cheshmeh Langan River (32°55′N, 50°10′E) a part of Zayanderud River basin and Capoeta umbla from Chooman River (35°57′N, 45°47′E). Fish were sampled by electro fishing (Samus1000; Power Out: 200 watts) in August, September and October 2017. Sampling was carried out each months in sites covering an area of about 100 m2 including runs, riffles and pools at a water depth of 10–60 cm. The obtained LWRs and LLRs showed a high level of correlation (r> 0.99).  相似文献

A total of 502 specimens were obtained during monthly samplings from July to December 2015, by fishermen using seine nets, gillnets and cast nets. Length–weight (LWRs) and length–length (LLRs) relationships were estimated for five fish species collected from the Atrai River in the northwestern region of Bangladesh. The values of slope (b) in LWRs (r2 > .913, p < .001) were determined as 2.899 for Aspidoparia jaya, 3.059 for Gagata cenia, 3.004 for Gagata youssoufi, 2.755 for Salmophasia bacaila, and 3.222 for Salmophasia phulo, respectively. The linear relationships in TL, FL and SL were highly correlated (for all cases: r2 > .897, p < .001). No previous information on LWRs (except for G. cenia) and LLRs (except for Sbacaila) of these selected species were found in FishBase.  相似文献

Here the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of two catfish species are provided. Individuals of Imparfinis mirini Haseman, 1911, and Phenacorhamdia tenebrosa (Schubart, 1964) were collected in August and December 2017 from the Guareí River Basin, upper Paraná River basin, Brazil. Values of b were between 2.66 and 3.11 and a between 0.0122 and 0.0137; statistical analysis showed high r2 values. Lastly, a new record of maximum standard length for P. tenebrosa is provided.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for five fish species which were captured by trap‐nets and gillnets (major mesh size: 1–10 cm) from the middle Yangtze River, China (29°47′ – 29°26′N; 112°51′ – 113°08′E) were determined in September 2017. These were Acheilognathus hypselonotus (Bleeker, 1871), Culter oxycephaloides Kreyenberg & Pappenheim, 1908, Distoechodon tumirostris Peters, 1881, Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis (Günther, 1873) and Micropercops swinhonis (Günther, 1873). The LWRs were estimated using the logarithmic form of the formula =   ×  Lb. The b value ranged from 2.879 for A. hypselonotus to 3.285 for M. swinhonis. LWRs for four fish species and new maximum lengths for three species are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

The present ichthyological report describes the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of three catfish species (Eutropiichthys murius, Nangra nangra and Gagata viridescens) belonging to two families from the Kaliganga River, a tributary of the Dhaleshwari River, Bangladesh. The analyses included 306 specimens collected monthly from fishermen's catches during October 2015 to April 2016. Ranges of regression parameters a and b of the three species were within 0.0058–0.0099 and 2.900–3.142, respectively with highly correlated coefficients of determination (r2 > .995; p < .001). The LWRs for all three species presented herein for the first time with a new maximum length record for N. nangra.  相似文献

This study provides the first report of length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three fish species collected from the Yalong River, one of the tributaries to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, China. The LWRs of these fish species were BW = 0.0070TL3.0539 (r2 = 0.9662) for Schizothorax wangchiachii, BW=0.0134TL2.8523 (r2 = 0.9676) for Schizopygopsis malacanthus, and BW=0.0143TL2.9253 (r2 = 0.8538) for Euchiloglanis kishinouyei, respectively. Also investigated were the spawning season, absolute fecundity and main food items of the three fish species in the natural environment. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were investigated for five fish species occurring in the Nmai Hka River. Fish were collected monthly from five sites between January and May 2009, using five gill nets in the main river and electrofishing in tributaries. The results of LWRs for Bangana devdevi (Hora, 1936), Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977, Amblypharyngodon atkinsonii (Blyth, 1860), Schizothorax meridionalis (Tsao, 1964) and Mystus pulcher (Chaudhuri, 1911) provide basic data useful in fisheries science. All values of parameter b ranging from 2.89 for Bangana devdevi (Hora, 1936) and 3.47 for Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977(in all cases r2 > .951).A new total length has been recorded for Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977 when comparing with records given in the international electronic databank FishBase (Froese & Pauly, 2017).  相似文献
