Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three endemic fish species [Gobiobotia filifer (Garman, 1912), Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896) and Xenophysogobio boulengeri (Tchang, 1929)] from the Yangtze River in China. Samples were obtained between April 2008 and June 2012 using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for two species [Gobiobotia filifer (Garman, 1912) and Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896)] were unknown.  相似文献

This study provides the first report of length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three fish species collected from the Yalong River, one of the tributaries to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, China. The LWRs of these fish species were BW = 0.0070TL3.0539 (r2 = 0.9662) for Schizothorax wangchiachii, BW=0.0134TL2.8523 (r2 = 0.9676) for Schizopygopsis malacanthus, and BW=0.0143TL2.9253 (r2 = 0.8538) for Euchiloglanis kishinouyei, respectively. Also investigated were the spawning season, absolute fecundity and main food items of the three fish species in the natural environment. In addition, new maximum sizes for the three species are provided.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three fish species: Gymnodiptychus pachycheilus (Herzenstein, 1892), Discogobio yunnanensis (Regan, 1907), and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012). Samples were collected from the Yalong River, southwestern China using fishing gear (gillnets, 30 × 15 m, mesh‐size 5 mm) and electroshock fishing (CWB‐2000 P, 12 V, 250 HZ) in June 2007. Prior to this study, length–weight relationships for these three species were unknown. For two of the species [Discogobio yunnanensis (Regan, 1907) and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012)], new maximum standard lengths not yet reported in the scientific literature were noted.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three Chinese endemic fish species (Gymnocypris eckloni eckloni Herzenstein, 1891, Platypharodon extremus Herzenstein, 1891 and Triplophysa pseudoscleroptera (Zhu & Wu, 1981)) were analyzed, collecting from the upper Yellow River (Xunhua and Guide Counties, Qinghai Province). Totally 347 specimens monthly collected by gill nets with 40 mm mesh size and traps with 5 m length from August to October 2014, were used to estimate the relationship parameters. The allometric factor b values ranged from 2.96 in T. pseudoscleroptera to 3.33 in G. eckloni eckloni. The condition factor a values varies between 0.0063 and 0.0175 in three species. Three WLRs of fishes distributed in the upper Yellow River were firstly reported and will fill in some of the empty spaces on endemic species in the Fishbase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three fish species (Cynoglossus macrolepidotus (Bleeker, 1851), Liparis tanakae (Gilbert & Burke, 1912), Zoarces elongatus (Kner, 1868)) from Bohai Sea (38°38′–40°28′N; 119°42′–121°10′E), China. Fish specimens were sampled monthly between May 1982 to May 1983 using pair bottom trawlers (150.5 × 96.5 m, mesh size: 30–200 mm) with a cod end (mesh size: 30 mm), which were towed at a ship's speed of two knots for 1 hr at a maximum depth of about 80 m. Relationships between length and weight were fitted very well for all species (all R2 > .90).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three freshwater fish species from the northeastern China. Fish specimens were sampled quarterly across the Songhua River and Nen River from October 2016 to September 2017 using multiple gears. Relationships between length and weight were fitted very well for all species (all R2 > .95), with b values ranging from 2.931 for Perccottus glenii to 3.044 for Parabotia mantschurica. The relationships for three species (P. mantschurica, P. glenii and Tachysurus brashnikowi) were new to FishBase database.  相似文献

Length–weight (LWR) relationships were estimated for nine fish species collected in the Wujiang River located near the city of Chongqing, China. The value of the exponent ‘b’ in the LWR was between 2.594 and 3.528, which shows that the species exhibit an allometric growth pattern. All relationships between total length (TL) and body weight (BW) were linear (in all cases: r2 > 0.913).  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for five fish species from the Beijiang River in China. Fishes were caught by gill nets (mesh sizes: 5, 7, 9 cm), and cage nets (mesh sizes: 0.5 cm) from April to September 2018. Length–weight relationships of four species were unknown to FishBase, and new records of maximum lengths are given for two species, one of which, Ancherythroculter lini, is endemic species of the Pearl River. All length–weight relationships were highly significant on a log scale with the coefficient of determination (r2) values ranged from 0.939 to 0.991. Values of b were within the expected range, varied from 2.935 for A. lini to 3.414 for Parasinilabeo assimilis.  相似文献
