The reaction between phthalylsulfathiazole (H2PST), in alkaline aqueous solution, and cobalt(II) nitrate led to a pink solid, [Co(PST)(H2O)4] (1), which was characterized by elemental and thermogravimetric analysis; FT-IR, Raman and diffuse reflectance spectra. Spectroscopic data reveal that the ligand would be doubly deprotonated and that the Co(II) ion environment is a distorted octahedral one. (1) showed antibacterial activity similar to the ligand.  相似文献

[Ru(bzimpy)(2)]Cl(2), where bzimpy is 2,6-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl) pyridine was synthesized and characterized by ESI-MS, UV-Visible, (1)H NMR and fluorescence spectra. Absorption titration and thermal denaturation experiments indicate that the complex binds to DNA with moderate strength. Viscosity measurement shows that the mode of binding could be surface binding. Fluorescence study shows that the fluorescence intensity of the complex decreases with increasing concentrations of DNA, which is due to the photoelectron transfer from guanine base to (3)MLCT of the complex. Photoexcitation of the complex in the MLCT region in the presence of plasmid DNA has been found to give rise to nicking of DNA.  相似文献

The copper(II) complex of coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (CcaH) has been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental and thermal analysis, IR, Raman, EPR, UV-Vis reflectance and 1H-NMR spectra. A detail analysis of all spectra data is presented with particular emphasis on the elucidation of the coordination mode of the ligand and the structure of the complex. All data are consistent with a binuclear structure for the complex with four coumarin-3-carboxylates as bridges and one water ligand per copper ion. The significantly lower than the spin-only value magnetic moment of the complex and the EPR spectra at various temperature are indicative of a magnetic interaction between the two copper atoms.  相似文献

A new macropolycycle, 2,13-dimethyl-1,5,12,16-tetraazapentacyclo[14.6.2.25.12.06.11.017.22]hexacosane (L3), has been prepared by the reaction of 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo[16.4.0.07.12]docosane (L1) with 1-bromo-2-chloroethane. The macropolycycle readily reacts with anhydrous copper(II) ion to yield [CuL3]2+ in dry methanol but does not with nickel(II) ion, showing a high copper(II) ion selectivity. Crystal structure of [CuL3](ClO4)2 shows that the complex has a distorted square-planar coordination polyhedron with a trans-IV type N-conformation. The Cu-N distances [1.989(3) and 2.015(3) Å] of [CuL3](ClO4)2 are distinctly shorter than those of [CuL1](ClO4)2 and other related macrocyclic copper(II) complexes. The d-d transition band for [CuL3](ClO4)2 is observed at 447 nm, which is ca. 40 nm shorter than that for [CuL1](ClO4)2.  相似文献

The ibuprofen complex of diruthenium(II,III) was prepared and characterized by electronic (UV-Vis) and vibrational (FTIR) spectroscopies and thermogravimetry. The copper(II)-ibuprofenato complex was prepared by a different route from that described in the literature. Both complexes were tested in vivo for anti-inflammatory activity. Oral administration of the two complexes inhibited development of carrageenin-induced edema in rats, this inhibition being similar to that observed for oral administration of the parent drug (free ibuprofen). However, gastric irritation was lower as compared to that of ibuprofen. Diruthenium-ibuprofenato exhibited a protective effect at light intensity ulceration while the copper-ibuprofenato complex was more effective in the protection of severe intensity ulceration.  相似文献

Condensation reaction of 2,9-dicarboxaldehyde-1,10-phenanthroline with 2-aminoethanol followed by NaBH4 reduction yielded the polydentate Schiff base ligand 2,9-bis(ethanolamine)-1,10-phenanthroline in its reduced form. This ligand was characterized by elemental analysis, LC-MS, IR, UV-Vis and NMR spectroscopy. Reaction of the reduced Schiff base ligand with aqueous solution of cobalt(II) chloride affords 2,9-bis(ethanolamine)-1,10-phenanthrolinechlorocobalt(II) chloride in high yield. Single crystals of the cobalt(II) complex were obtained from the crystallization in ethanol and its structure was elucidated by X-ray structural analysis. The cobalt(II) complex ion was found to be seven-coordinated in a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry, whereby cobalt(II) ion is surrounded by the six donor atoms in the ligand molecule and a chloride ion.  相似文献

A novel naphthalene-2,3-diamine-2-salicylaldehyde (NS) ligand and its mononuclear copper(II) complex (CuNS) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The UV–vis absorption and emission spectra of NS showed obvious changes on addition of Cu2+ solution. The interaction of the compounds with calf thymus DNA and G-quadruplex DNA were investigated by spectroscopic methods and thermal melting assay. The nucleolytic cleavage activity of the compounds was investigated on double-stranded circular pBR322 plasmid DNA and G-quadruplex DNA by electrophoretic mobility shift assay. The results show that CuNS has a greater ability to stabilize G-quadruplex DNA over calf-thymus DNA. The cytotoxicity of the compounds toward HpeG2 cancer cells was also studied, and they showed significant potential for antineoplastic effects.  相似文献

A novel proton transfer compound, pyridin-2-ylmethanaminium 2,4-dichloro-5-sulfamoylbenzoate (1), and a mixed-ligand Zn(II) complex, bis(2,4-dichloro-5-sulfamoylbenzoate)(2-aminomethylpyridine)aquazinc(II) monohydrate (2), have been synthesized from the same free ligands, which are 2,4-dichloro-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid (Hsba) and 2-aminomethylpyridine (amp). They have been characterized by elemental, spectral (1H NMR, IR and UV–vis.) and thermal analyses. Additionally, magnetic measurement and single crystal X-ray diffraction technique were applied to compound 2. In the complex, Zn(II) ion exhibits a distorted octahedral configuration coordinated by O1 and O1i atoms of two mono dentante sba anions and N1, N2, N2i atoms of bidentante amp anion and a water molecule (O1w). The free ligands Hsba and amp, and the products 1 and 2, and acetazolamide (AAZ) as the control compound, were also evaluated for their in vitro inhibitor effects on human Carbonic Anhydrase isoenzymes (hCA I and hCA II) purified from erythrocyte cell by affinity chromatography for their hydratase and esterase activities. The IC50 values of products 1 and 2 for hydratase activity are 0.26 and 0.13 μM for hCA I and 0.30 and 0.15 μM for hCA II, respectively. The IC50 values of the same inhibitors for esterase activity are 0.32 and 0.045 μM for hCA I and 0.29 and 0.23 μM for hCA II, respectively. In relation to esterase activities, the inhibition equilibrium constants (Ki) were also determined and found 0.25 and 0.058 μM on hCA I and 0.22 and 0.24 μM on hCA II for 1 and 2, respectively. The comparison of the inhibition studies of newly synthesized compounds 1 and 2 to parent compounds Hsba and amp and to AAZ indicated that 1 and 2 have effective inhibitory activity on hCA I and II, and might be used potential inhibitors.  相似文献

A new bis(N-benzyl-benzotriazole)dichloro Co(II) complex (Co(bbt)(2)Cl(2)) was synthesized and the structure was characterized by X-ray crystallography, IR spectrum and elemental analysis. The electrochemical characterization of Co(bbt)(2)Cl(2) was measured in detail, and the interaction of this Co(II) complex with fish sperm DNA was studied by electrochemical techniques and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) showed that Co(bbt)(2)Cl(2) had two reduction peaks and one oxidation peak on gold electrode. It was found that the currents of both the reduction peaks and the oxidation peak decreased significantly in the presence of DNA compared with those in the absence of DNA, which indicated that Co(bbt)(2)Cl(2) could interact with DNA. The binding of DNA with the complex was not only electrostatic binding but also intercalation.  相似文献

AIMS: To investigate the occurrence and extent of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Oenococcus oeni interactions. METHODS AND RESULTS: Interactions between S. cerevisiae and O. oeni were investigated by double-layer and well-plate assays showing the occurrence of specific interactions for each yeast-malolactic bacteria (MLB) coupling. Heat and protease treatments of synthetic grape juice fermented by the S. cerevisiae strain F63 indicated that the inhibitory activity exerted by this yeast on O. oeni is due to a proteinaceous factor(s) which exerts either bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect depending on concentration and affects malolactic fermentation in natural grape juice and wine. CONCLUSIONS: A proteinaceous factor(s) produced by a S. cerevisiae wine strain able to inhibit O. oeni growth and malic acid fermentation was characterized. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: The individuation, characterization and exploitation of yeast proteinaceous factor(s) exerting inhibitory activity on MLB may offer new opportunities for the management of malolactic fermentation.  相似文献

The binding properties of [Ru(bpy)(2)(H(2)IIP)](2+) (1) {bpy=2,2'-bipyridine, H(2)IIP=2-(indole-3-yl)-imidazolo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline} with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and yeast tRNA have been investigated comparatively by different spectroscopic and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that the affinity of complex 1 binding with yeast tRNA is stronger than that of complex 1 binding with CT-DNA, and complex 1 is a better enantioselective binder to yeast tRNA than to CT-DNA. The toxicity of complex 1 was concentration dependent, and HL-60 cells are more sensitive to complex 1 than Hep-G2 cells; complex 1 could induce Hep-G2 cell apoptosis.  相似文献

In order to enhance the knowledge of how quinolones may exert their antibacterial action, the synthesis of a new copper(II) mixed ligand, containing histamine complex was carried out. Crystal structure of [Cu(hsm)(cnx)NO3]H2O shows that Cu(II) cation displays a distorted square pyramidal geometry. Cinoxacinate (cnx) acts as bidentate ligand bonded to the Cu(II) ion through the oxygen atoms of the 3-carboxylate and 4-keto groups and histamine (hsm) is coordinated by the aliphatic amino group and the non protonated nitrogen of imidazole. Molar conductivity, elemental analysis, infrared and electronic spectroscopy have been used to characterize the complex. The results here reported indicate that cnx coordination mode is similar to that found in other complexes reported previously, being only found that metal-ligand distances are slightly different because the asymmetry of the coordination environment. This result also, may support the hypothesis that the mechanism of action of quinolones could be through a copper(II) complex carrier with imidazole ligands in their coordination environment.  相似文献

A platinum(II) complex containing the diamine ()sparteine has been synthesized for the first time and fully characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. ()Sparteine is an alkaloid containing four fused rings and four asymmetric centers of configurations 6R, 7S, 9S, and 11S at the four tertiary carbon atoms. In the cis conformation it can act as a chelating N-donor ligand toward a metal ion. The steric bulkiness of this ligand is such that the Pt-N bond lengths are greater than normal and the angle between the cis-chlorido ligands is well below the theoretical value of 90°. This sparteine complex of platinum appears to be an ideal substrate for investigating the stereochemistry of adducts with nucleotides and DNA. For instance the orientation of a coordinated nucleobase can be determined with precision by monitoring the strength of NOE cross peaks between the sparteine protons pointing toward the metal center and key protons of the coordinated nucleobase(s) (e.g. H8 protons of guanine or adenine).  相似文献

The cobalt(II) complexes [Co(TPA)Cl]ClO4 (1), [Co(TPA)Br]ClO4 (2), [Co(TPA)(H2O)]Cl(ClO4) (3) and [Co2(TPA)2(μ-tp)](ClO4)2 · 2H2O (4) (TPA = tris(2-methylpyridyl)amine and tp = terephthalate dianion) were synthesized and structurally characterized by UV-vis and IR spectroscopy. The molecular structures of complexes 1 and 4 were determined by X-ray crystallography and their magnetic properties were measured over the temperature range 2-300 K. The coordination geometry around the central Co(II) in these compounds has a distorted trigonal bipyamidal geometry with four nitrogen atoms from the TPA ligand and the fifth coordination site is occupied by Cl ion in 1, Br ion in 2, coordinated oxygen atom from H2O in 3 and by an oxygen atom supplied by the carboxylate group of the bridged terephthalato ligand in 4. The visible spectra of the complexes 1-3 in MeOH show strong distortion toward tetrahedral geometry. For complex 4, analysis of the infrared spectral data for the ν(COO) stretching frequencies of the tp-carboxalato groups reveals the existence of the bis(monodentate) coordination mode for the bridged tp. X-ray data for 1 and 4 show that the former is mononuclear while the latter is dinuclear. The electronic spectrum of 4 in MeOH is in complete agreement with the assigned X-ray geometry around the Co(II) centers. The magnetic behavior of the mononuclear complex 1 is indicative of a high-spin compound with zero-field splitting. The best fit was obtained with ∣D∣ = 7.3 cm−1, g = 2.25. The dinuclear complex 4 exhibits weak antiferromagnetic coupling with a coupling constant J = −0.8 cm−1. The magnetic properties and the structural parameters of 4 are discussed in relation to the other related μ-terephthalato dinuclear Co(II) compounds. The geometry of the coordination sphere around 4 is unique - the CSD compilation listing only one other compound with such a geometry around the dinuclear Co(II) complex and its composition is far different from that in 4. However, they share a common feature of having a weakly antiferromagnetic coupling between Co(II) centers.  相似文献

Two complexes of the formula [MH3L](ClO4)2 [M = Cu(II) (1), Ni(II) (2)] have been prepared by the reaction of M(ClO4)2 · 6H2O with the ligand (H3L) formed by the Schiff base condensation of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (tren) with three molar equivalents of 4-methyl-5-imidazolecarboxaldehyde and structurally and magnetically characterized. The structures of 1 and 2 are isomorphous with each other and with the iron(II) complex of H3L which has been reported previously. The ligand, while potentially heptadentate, forms six coordinate complexes with both metal centers forming three M-Nimine and three M-Nimidazole bonds. The tren central N atom is at a nonbonded distance from M of 3.261 Å for 1 and 3.329 Å for 2. The neutral complex CuHL 3 was prepared by reaction of H3L with Cu(OCH3)2 and the ionic complex Na[NiL] 4 was prepared by deprotonation of 2 with aqueous sodium hydroxide. Magnetic measurements of 1-3 are consistent with the spin-only values expected for S = 1/2 (d9, Cu(II)) and S = 1 (d8, Ni (II)) systems.  相似文献

The X-ray structure of the [Cu(I-hip)(phen)2](+).(I-hip-).(H2O)7 complex (1) (where I-hipH is referred to o-iodohippuric acid and phen is 1,10-phenanthroline) and its binary synthetic intermediate [Cu(I-hip)2(H2O)3].(H2O)2 (2) have been solved and characterized by different techniques. This ternary [Cu(I-hip)(phen)2]+.(I-hip-).7H2O complex generates the copper(I) complex [Cu(phen)2]+ in aqueous solution without the addition of any external reductant, possibly by an intramolecular red-ox process in the presence of oxygen; the ESI-HRMS spectra (electrospray ionization-high resolution mass spectroscopy) detect these species and 24h after the solution, [Cu(phen)2]+ is the main product. The complex 1 is capable of cleaving DNA. To evaluate the biological properties, we carried out: cell culture, cell proliferation assays, cell cycle analysis, and electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and immunoblotting. Complex 1 induced apoptosis of A549 cells at low nanomolar and induced marked decreases of cancer cells at concentrations that did not change adipocyte survival. These data indicate that the parent complex is a potential anticancer drug.  相似文献

There exist at least three different polymorphs in the copper(II) complex [Cu(hino)2] with a hinokitiol ligand (Hhino; 4-isopropyltropolone1). In addition to deep-green plate crystals 1a and deep-green rod crystals 1b, whose crystal structures have been recently reported, novel green needle crystals 1c of [Cu(hino)2] were found, the crystal structure of which was here determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Since only one crystal structure has been reported for the copper(II) complex [Cu(trop)2] with a tropolone ligand (Htrop), the polymorphism found in the crystals of [Cu(hino)2] would be due to the presence of the isopropyl group on the tropolone ring. The synthetic conditions giving the three polymorphs in good yields were found and the crystals were characterized with elemental analysis, FT-IR, TG/DTA and X-ray powder diffraction (XPD) measurements, as well as solution molecular weight measurements for 1a. The solid-state magnetic behaviors or the temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities were measured with Superconductivity Quantum Interference Devices (SQUID): 1a showed a weak ferromagnetic interaction, 1b showed a paramagnetic nature with S=1/2, while 1c showed a weak antiferromagnetic interaction. The antimicrobial activities for selected bacteria, yeasts and molds were also measured in the water-suspension system: 1a and 1b showed no activity, while 1c showed modest activities, and these activities were compared with those of the neutral Hino and the anionic hino ligands.  相似文献
