A bacterial isolate, Pseudomonas putida CN-T19, could grow in a two-phase medium with toluene up to 50% (v/v). Changes in fatty acid composition and membrane fluidity of the isolate were investigated to understand how this microorganism responds toluene. The changes in the ratios of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids were insignificant between cells grown with and without toluene. The changes in the ratio of cis- to trans-fatty acids of C16:1 and C18:1 was, however, significantly lower in cells grown with toluene than cells grown without toluene, giving approximately 1.3 and 9.7, respectively. Toluene had a fluidizing effect on the membrane of cells grown without toluene, resulting in decrease in membrane polarization ratio. Less fluidizing effect of toluene on the membrane of cells grown with toluene was observed, giving 11% of polarization percentage, which was significantly lower than 53% in cells grown without toluene. These results suggest that cis/trans isomeration of C16:1 and C18:1 makes cell membranes more rigid to respond toluene, and is an adaptive strategy allowing P. putida CN-T19 to grow in the presence of organic solvent.  相似文献

This study explored the capability of Pseudomonas putida NCTC 10936 to maintain homeoviscosity after changing the growth temperature, incubating resting cells at different temperatures or at a constant temperature in the presence of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP). After raising the growth temperature from 20 to either 30 or 35 degrees C, the degree of saturation of the organism's fatty acids increased and the ratio of trans to cis unsaturated fatty acids decreased somewhat. In contrast, after the incubation temperature of resting cells was raised (grown at 30 degrees C) from 20 to 30 or 35 degrees C the degree of saturation of the fatty acids remained nearly constant, while the ratio of trans to cis unsaturated fatty acids increased. Incubating resting cells (grown at 30 degrees C) at 20 degrees C in the presence of 4-CP again caused no major changes in the degree of saturation, but cis to trans conversion of unsaturated fatty acids was induced, with a corresponding increase in the trans/cis ratios. Increases in both the saturation degree of the fatty acids and the trans/cis ratio of the unsaturated fatty acids correlated with increases in the fluorescence anisotropy of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene intercalated in the bilayers of liposomes prepared from the cells of P. putida NCTC 10936. Electron transport phosphorylation (ETP) could be stabilized by adaptive adjustments in the fluidity of the cytoplasmic membrane mediated by changes in fatty acid composition such as those observed. Whether changes in the degree of saturation or in the trans/cis ratio are more effective can be decided by studying P. putida NCTC 10936.  相似文献

Carbon dioxide and nisin act synergistically on Listeria monocytogenes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper examines the synergistic action of carbon dioxide and nisin on Listeria monocytogenes Scott A wild-type and nisin-resistant (Nis(r)) cells grown in broth at 4 degrees C. Carbon dioxide extended the lag phase and decreased the specific growth rate of both strains, but to a greater degree in the Nis(r) cells. Wild-type cells grown in 100% CO(2) were two to five times longer than cells grown in air. Nisin (2.5 microg/ml) did not decrease the viability of Nis(r) cells but for wild-type cells caused an immediate 2-log reduction of viability when they were grown in air and a 4-log reduction when they were grown in 100% CO(2). There was a quantifiable synergistic action between nisin and CO(2) in the wild-type strain. The MIC of nisin for the wild-type strain grown in the presence of 2.5 microg of nisin per ml increased from 3.1 to 12.5 microg/ml over 35 days, but this increase was markedly delayed for cultures in CO(2). This synergism between nisin and CO(2) was examined mechanistically by following the leakage of carboxyfluorescein (CF) from listerial liposomes. Carbon dioxide enhanced nisin-induced CF leakage, indicating that the synergistic action of CO(2) and nisin occurs at the cytoplasmic membrane. Liposomes made from cells grown in a CO(2) atmosphere were even more sensitive to nisin action. Liposomes made from cells grown at 4 degrees C were dramatically more nisin sensitive than were liposomes derived from cells grown at 30 degrees C. Cells grown in the presence of 100% CO(2) and those grown at 4 degrees C had a greater proportion of short-chain fatty acids. The synergistic action of nisin and CO(2) is consistent with a model where membrane fluidity plays a role in the efficiency of nisin action.  相似文献

Adaptation of the food-borne pathogen Bacillus cereus to carvacrol   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Carvacrol, a natural antimicrobial compound present in the essential oil fraction of oregano and thyme, is bactericidal towards Bacillus cereus. A decrease of the sensitivity of B. cereus towards carvacrol was observed after growth in the presence of non-lethal carvacrol concentrations. A decrease of the melting temperature (Tm) of membranes from 20.5 degrees C to 12.6 degrees C was the immediate effect of the addition of carvacrol. Cells adapted to 0.4 mM carvacrol showed a lower membrane fluidity than nonadapted cells. Adaptation of 0.4 mM carvacrol increased the Tm from 20.5 degrees C to 28.3 degrees C. The addition of carvacrol to cell suspensions of adapted B. cereus cells decreased Tm again to 19.5 degrees C, approximately the same value as for the non-adapted cells in the absence of carvacrol. During adaptation, changes in the fatty acid composition were observed. The relative amount of iso-C13:0, C14:0, and iso-C15:0 increased and cis-C16:1 and C18:0 decreased. The head-group composition also changed, two additional phospholipids were formed and one phospholipid was lacking in the adapted cells. It could be concluded that B. cereus adapts to carvacrol when present at non-lethal concentrations in the growth medium by lowering its membrane fluidity by changing the fatty acid and headgroup composition.  相似文献

The swimming velocity and the amplitude of the helical swimming path of T. pyriformis-NT1 cells grown at 20 degrees C (Tg 20 degrees C) and 38 degrees C (Tg 38 degrees C) were monitored between 0 and 40 degrees C in the presence and absence of electric fields. Within physiological limits the swimming velocity increased and the amplitude decreased as temperature was raised. The temperature profiles of these properties were not linear, and showed discontinuities at different temperatures for the different cultures. The break points in Arrhenius plots of the resting potential, regenerative spike magnitude, repolarization time, swimming velocity and swimming amplitude are tabulated and compared. The initial breakpoints upon cooling were clustered about the breakpoints in fluorescence polarization of D.P.H. in extracted phospholipids, and around the transition temperatures estimated from the literature for the pellicular membrane of these cells. The average of the initial breakpoints on cooling was 22.9 degrees C for Tg 38 degrees C cells and 13.7 degrees C for Tg 20 degrees C cells, a shift of 9.2 degrees C. Unlike Paramecium there is no depolarizing receptor potential in Tetrahymena upon warming. It is suggested that this may be the basis of a behavioural difference between Tetrahymena and Paramecium--namely that in Tetrahymena maximum swimming velocity occurs above growth temperature whereas in Paramecium the two points coincide. Swimming velocity and resting potential were correlated with membrane fluidity within physiological limits, but for other parameters the relationship with fluidity was more complex.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Arthrobacter chlorophenolicus is a previously described Gram-positive bacterium capable of degrading high concentrations of several phenolic compounds under optimal mesophilic (28 degrees C) as well as psychrophilic (5 degrees C) conditions. However, the exact mechanisms by which this organism is able to tolerate such extremes in temperature and high levels of toxic compounds are currently not known. In this study, we monitored changes in the fatty acid composition of the cell membrane under different extreme growth conditions. Arthrobacter chlorophenolicus adapts to differences in temperature and phenol concentrations by altering the anteiso/iso ratio of fatty acids in the cell membrane to different extents. According to the different physico-chemical properties of those two species of branched fatty acids, the bacteria showed an increased amount of anteiso fatty acids when grown under psychrophilic conditions to decrease the viscosity of their membranes. On the other hand, at higher growth temperatures as well as in the presence of toxic concentrations of phenol, 4-chlorophenol and 4-nitrophenol, the cells adapted their membrane by a dose-dependent decrease in the anteiso/iso ratio, leading to a more rigid membrane and counteracting the fluidity increase caused by the higher temperature and the organic solvents.  相似文献

Membrane fluidity adaptation to the low growth temperature in Bacillus subtilis involves two distinct mechanisms: (1) long-term adaptation accomplished by increasing the ratio of anteiso- to iso-branched fatty acids and (2) rapid desaturation of fatty acid chains in existing phospholipids by induction of fatty acid desaturase after cold shock. In this work we studied the effect of medium composition on cold adaptation of membrane fluidity. Bacillus subtilis was cultivated at optimum (40 degrees C) and low (20 degrees C) temperatures in complex medium with glucose or in mineral medium with either glucose or glycerol. Cold adaptation was characterized by fatty acid analysis and by measuring the midpoint of phospholipid phase transition T(m) (differential scanning calorimetry) and membrane fluidity (DPH fluorescence polarization). Cells cultured and measured at 40 degrees C displayed the same membrane fluidity in all three media despite a markedly different fatty acid composition. The T(m) was surprisingly the highest in the case of a culture grown in complex medium. On the contrary, cultivation at 20 degrees C in the complex medium gave rise to the highest membrane fluidity with concomitant decrease of T(m) by 10.5 degrees C. In mineral media at 20 degrees C the corresponding changes of T(m) were almost negligible. After a temperature shift from 40 to 20 degrees C, the cultures from all three media displayed the same adaptive induction of fatty acid desaturase despite their different membrane fluidity values immediately after cold shock.  相似文献

Flow cytometry was used to measure the fluorescence polarization of the lipid probe trimethylammonium-diphenylhexatriene as an indicator of plasma membrane fluidity of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells heated under various conditions. Fluorescence polarization was measured at room temperature about 25 min after heating. When cells were heated for 45 min at temperatures above 42 degrees C, fluorescence polarization decreased progressively, signifying an increase in plasma membrane fluidity. The fluorescence polarization of cells heated at 42 degrees C for up to 55 h was nearly the same as for unheated control populations, despite a reduction in survival. The fluorescence polarization of cells heated at 45 degrees C decreased progressively with heating time, which indicated a progressive increase in membrane fluidity. The fluorescence polarization distributions broadened and skewed toward lower polarization values for long heating times at 45 degrees C. Thermotolerant cells resisted changes in plasma membrane fluidity when challenged with subsequent 45 degrees C exposures. Heated cells were sorted on the basis of their position in the fluorescence polarization distribution and plated to determine survival. The survival of cells which were subjected to various heat treatments and then sorted from high or low tails of the fluorescence polarization histograms was not significantly different. These results show that hyperthermia causes persistent changes in the membrane fluidity of CHO cells but that membrane fluidity is not directly correlated with cell survival.  相似文献

This paper describes a quantitative and sensitive chemical assay for cereulide, the heat-stable emetic toxin produced by Bacillus cereus. The methods previously available for measuring cereulide are bioassays that give a toxicity titer, but not an accurate concentration. The dose of cereulide causing illness in humans is therefore not known, and thus safety limits for cereulide cannot be indicated. We developed a quantitative and sensitive chemical assay for cereulide based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) connected to ion trap mass spectrometry. This chemical assay and a bioassay based on boar sperm motility inhibition were calibrated with purified cereulide and with valinomycin, a structurally similar cyclic depsipeptide. The boar spermatozoan motility assay and chemical assay gave uniform results over a wide range of cereulide concentrations, ranging from 0.02 to 230 microg ml(-1). The detection limit for cereulide and valinomycin by HPLC-mass spectrometry was 10 pg per injection. The combined chemical and biological assays were used to define conditions and concentrations of cereulide formation by B. cereus strains F4810/72, NC7401, and F5881. Cereulide production commenced at the end of logarithmic growth, but was independent of sporulation. Production of cereulide was enhanced by incubation with shaking compared to static conditions. The three emetic B. cereus strains accumulated 80 to 166 microg of cereulide g(-1) (wet weight) when grown on solid medium. Strain NC7401 accumulated up to 25 microg of cereulide ml(-1) in liquid medium at room temperature (21 +/- 1 degrees C) in 1 to 3 days, during the stationary growth phase when cell density was 2 x 10(8) to 6 x 10(8) CFU ml(-1). Cereulide production at temperatures at and below 8 degrees C or at 40 degrees C was minimal.  相似文献

The integrity of the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane is critical in maintaining the viability of cells and their metabolic functions, particularly under stress. Bacteria actively adjust membrane fluidity through changes in lipid composition in response to variations in temperature, pressure, ion concentrations, pH, nutrient availability, and xenobiotics. Fluorescence polarization methods are valuable for measuring bacterial cytoplasmic membrane fluidity. In this review we discuss the mechanisms of bacterial membrane adaptations and present data from research using 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatirene (DPH) as a measure of membrane fluidity and phase transitions. We illustrate the range of fluidity in viable cells, extracted membranes, and liposomes under optimal and stressed physiological conditions.  相似文献

A specific effect of cardiolipin on fluidity of mitochondrial membranes was demonstrated in Tetrahymena cells acclimated to a lower temperature in the previous report (Yamauchi, T., Ohki, K., Maruyama, H. and Nozawa, Y. (1981) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 649, 385-392). This study was further confirmed by the experiment using fluorescence polarization of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH). Anisotropy of DPH for microsomal and pellicular total lipids from Tetrahymena cells showed that membrane fluidity of these lipids increased gradually as the cells were incubated at 15 degrees C after the shift down of growth temperature from 39 degrees C. However, membrane fluidity of mitochondrial total lipids was kept constant up to 10 h. This finding is compatible with the result obtained using spin probe in the previous report. Additionally, the break-point temperature of DPH anisotropy was not changed in mitochondrial lipids whereas those temperatures in pellicular and microsomal lipids lowered during the incubation at 15 degrees C. Interaction between cardiolipins and various phospholipids, which were isolated from Tetrahymena cells grown at 39 degrees C or 15 degrees C and synthesized chemically, was investigated extensively using a spin labeling technique. The addition of cardiolipins from Tetrahymena cells grown at either 39 degrees C or 15 degrees C did not change the membrane fluidity (measured at 15 degrees C) of phosphatidylcholine from whole cells grown at 39 degrees C. On the other hand, both cardiolipins of 39 degrees C-grown and 15 degrees C-grown cells decreased the membrane fluidity of phosphatidylcholine from Tetrahymena cells grown at 15 degrees C. The same results were obtained for phosphatidylcholines of mitochondria and microsomes. Membrane fluidity of phosphatidylethanolamine, isolated from cells grown at 15 degrees C, was reduced to a small extent by Tetrahymena cardiolipin whereas that of 39 degrees C-grown cells was not changed. Representative molecular species of phosphatidylcholines of cells grown at 39 degrees C and 15 degrees C were synthesized chemically; 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoylphosphatidylcholine for 39 degrees C-grown cells and dipalmitoleoylphosphatidylcholine for 15 degrees C-grown ones. By the addition of Tetrahymena cardiolipin, the membrane fluidity of 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoylphosphatidylcholine was not changed but that of dipalmitoleoylphosphatidylcholine was decreased markedly. These phenomena were caused by Tetrahymena cardiolipin. However, bovine heart cardiolipin, which has a different composition of fatty acyl chains from the Tetrahymena one, exerted only a small effect.  相似文献

Intramolecular excimer formation of 1,3-di(2-pyrenyl)propane was used to study the fluidity of liposomes prepared from membrane polar lipids of Bacillus stearothermophilus. On the basis of spectral data, local polarity and polarizability parameters were established suggesting that the probe molecules are located well inside the membranes, but displaced towards the polar head groups of the phospholipid molecules. The excimerization rate is very sensitive to lipid phase transitions and pretransitions of synthetic pure lipid bilayers. In bacterial lipids from cultures grown at 55 and 68 degrees C, thermal profiles of excimer to monomer intensity ratios (I'/I) show a broad transition which is displaced to higher temperatures in response to the increase of the growth temperature; these results correlate well with differential scanning calorimetry data and fluorescence polarization of diphenylhexatriene. Additionally, lipid bilayers of bacteria grown at 68 degrees C exhibit a decreased membrane fluidity, as monitored by both fluorescent probes.  相似文献

Cultures of T. pyriformis-NT1 were grown at 20 degrees C (Tg 20 degrees C) and 38 degrees C (Tg 38 degrees C). G.L.C. analysis and D.P.H. fluorescence polarization measurements in extracted phospholipids indicated that there was increased saturation of fatty acids and relatively reduced fluidity as growth temperature was increased. Breakpoints occurred in the Arrhenius plots of fluorescence polarization at 16 degrees C for Tg 38 degrees C total extracted phospholipids and 9 degrees C for Tg 20 degrees C lipids.  相似文献

The presence of psychrotrophic enterotoxigenic Bacillus cereus in ready-to-serve meats and meat products that have not been subjected to sterilization treatment is a public health concern. A study was undertaken to determine the survival, growth, and diarrheal enterotoxin production characteristics of four strains of psychrotrophic B. cereus in brain heart infusion (BHI) broth and beef gravy as affected by temperature and supplementation with nisin. A portion of unheated vegetative cells from 24-h BHI broth cultures was sensitive to nisin as evidenced by an inability to form colonies on BHI agar containing 10 micrograms of nisin/ml. Heat-stressed cells exhibited increased sensitivity to nisin. At concentrations as low as 1 microgram/ml, nisin was lethal to B. cereus, the effect being more pronounced in BHI broth than in beef gravy. The inhibitory effect of nisin (1 microgram/ml) was greater on vegetative cells than on spores inoculated into beef gravy and was more pronounced at 8 degrees C than at 15 degrees C. Nisin, at a concentration of 5 or 50 micrograms/ml, inhibited growth in gravy inoculated with vegetative cells and stored at 8 or 15 degrees C, respectively, for 14 days. Growth of vegetative cells and spores of B. cereus after an initial period of inhibition is attributed to loss of activity of nisin. One of two test strains produced diarrheal enterotoxin in gravy stored at 8 or 15 degrees C within 9 or 3 days, respectively. Enterotoxin production was inhibited in gravy supplemented with 1 microgram of nisin/ml and stored at 8 degrees C for 14 days; 5 micrograms of nisin/ml was required for inhibition at 15 degrees C. Enterotoxin was not detected in gravy in which less than 5.85 log10 CFU of B. cereus/ml had grown. Results indicate that as little as 1 microgram of nisin/ml may be effective in inhibiting or retarding growth of and diarrheal enterotoxin production by vegetative cells and spores of psychrotrophic B. cereus in beef gravy at 8 degrees C, a temperature exceeding that recommended for storage or for most unpasteurized, ready-to-serve meat products.  相似文献

The ABC transporter TliDEF was found to be an efficient secretory apparatus for extracellular lipase TliA in Pseudomonas fluorescens. For the enhanced secretion of the lipase, we tried to coexpress tliA and tliDEF in various Pseudomonas species. Whereas the coexpression of tliA and tliDEF was required for the lipase secretion in P. fragi, the expression of tliA was sufficient for the lipase secretion in P. fluorescens, P. syringae, and P. putida, indicating the existence of compatible ABC transporter in these species. However, P. fluorescens harboring tliDEFA secreted much more lipase than P. fluorescens harboring only tliA, but the tliDEF was functional only at temperatures below 30 degrees C. The recombinant P. fluorescens overexpressing tliDEFA showed the highest secretion level, 217 U/ml. OD (optical density) (28 microg/ml. OD) of lipase in Luria-Bertani medium under microaerated conditions. With the increase of aeration, the lipase production was decreased and the lipase seemed to be degraded as the cells entered the cell death phase. These results demonstrate that P. fluorescens can be used as a host system for the secretory production of the lipase using the ABC transporter, thus producing lipase in over 14% of the total protein.  相似文献

Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne psychrotrophic pathogen that grows at refrigeration temperatures. Previous studies of fatty acid profiles of wild-type and cold-sensitive, branched-chain fatty acid deficient mutants of L. monocytogenes suggest that the fatty acid 12-methyltetradecanoic (anteiso-C(15:0)) plays a critical role in low-temperature growth of L. monocytogenes, presumably by maintaining membrane fluidity. The fluidity of isolated cytoplasmic membranes of wild-type (SLCC53 and 10403S), and a cold-sensitive mutant (cld-1) of L. monocytogenes, grown with and without the supplementation of 2-methylbutyric acid, has been studied using a panel of hydrocarbon-based nitroxides (2N10, 3N10, 4N10, and 5N10) and spectral deconvolution and simulation methods to obtain directly the Lorentzian line widths and hence rotational correlation times (tau(c)) and motional anisotropies of the nitroxides in the fast motional region. tau(c) values over the temperature range of -7 degrees C to 50 degrees C were similar for the membranes of strains SLCC53 and 10403S grown at 10 degrees C and 30 degrees C, and for strain cld-1 grown with 2-methylbutyric acid supplementation (which restores branched-chain fatty acids) at 30 degrees C. However, strain cld-1 exhibited a threefold higher tau(c) when grown without 2-methylbutyric acid supplementation (deficient in branched-chain fatty acids) compared to strains SLCC53, 10403S, and supplemented cld-1. No evidence was seen for a clear lipid phase transition in any sample. We conclude that the fatty acid anteiso-C(15:0) imparts an essential fluidity to the L. monocytogenes membrane that permits growth at refrigeration temperatures.  相似文献

The effect of ethanol on the cytoplasmic membrane of Oenococcus oeni cells and the role of membrane changes in the acquired tolerance to ethanol were investigated. Membrane tolerance to ethanol was defined as the resistance to ethanol-induced leakage of preloaded carboxyfluorescein (cF) from cells. To probe the fluidity of the cytoplasmic membrane, intact cells were labeled with doxyl-stearic acids and analyzed by electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Although the effect of ethanol was noticeable across the width of the membrane, we focused on fluidity changes at the lipid-water interface. Fluidity increased with increasing concentrations of ethanol. Cells responded to growth in the presence of 8% (vol/vol) ethanol by decreasing fluidity. Upon exposure to a range of ethanol concentrations, these adapted cells had reduced fluidity and cF leakage compared with cells grown in the absence of ethanol. Analysis of the membrane composition revealed an increase in the degree of fatty acid unsaturation and a decrease in the total amount of lipids in the cells grown in the presence of 8% (vol/vol) ethanol. Preexposure for 2 h to 12% (vol/vol) ethanol also reduced membrane fluidity and cF leakage. This short-term adaptation was not prevented in the presence of chloramphenicol, suggesting that de novo protein synthesis was not involved. We found a strong correlation between fluidity and cF leakage for all treatments and alcohol concentrations tested. We propose that the protective effect of growth in the presence of ethanol is, to a large extent, based on modification of the physicochemical state of the membrane, i.e., cells adjust their membrane permeability by decreasing fluidity at the lipid-water interface.  相似文献

Membranes lipids are one of the most adaptable molecules in response to perturbations. Even subtle changes of the composition of acyl chains or head groups can alter the packing arrangements of lipids within the bilayer. This changes the balance between bilayer and nonbilayer lipids, serving to affect bilayer stability and fluidity, as well as altering lipid-protein interactions. External factors can also change membrane fluidity and lipid composition; including temperature, chemicals, ions, pressure, nutrients and the growth phase of the microbial culture. Various biophysical techniques have been used to monitor fluidity changes within the bacterial membrane. In this review, bacterial cytoplasmic membrane changes and related functional effects will be examined as well as the use of fluorescence polarization methods and examples of data obtained from research with bacteria.  相似文献

Analysis of the membrane composition revealed an increase in the degree of fatty acid unsaturation and a decrease in the total amount of lipids in the cells grown in the presence of 8% (vol/vol) ethanol. Preexposure for 2 h to 12% (vol/vol) ethanol also reduced membrane fluidity and cF leakage. This short-term adaptation was not prevented in the presence of chloramphenicol, suggesting that de novo protein synthesis was not involved. We found a strong correlation between fluidity and cF leakage for all treatments and alcohol concentrations tested. We propose that the protective effect of growth in the presence of ethanol is, to a large extent, based on modification of the physicochemical state of the membrane, i.e., cells adjust their membrane permeability by decreasing fluidity at the lipid-water interface.  相似文献

The effect of ionic strength on the fluidity of rabbit intestinal brush-border membranes has been studied using two fluorescence probes, pyrene and 1-anilino-8-naphthalene sulfonate (ANS). The imposition of a potential gradient on the pyrene-probed membrane vesicles (out greater than in) with increasing NaCl concentration in the medium resulted in a marked enhancement of the excimer formation efficiency, accompanied by a decrease in the ratio of fluorescence intensities of the probe at 392 and 375 nm. Fluorescence polarization of the pyrene-membrane complex is independent of temperature in the absence of salts, while it is dependent on temperature from 10 to 47 degrees C in the presence of salts, as shown by the thermal Perrin plots of polarization. It has been demonstrated that there is a linear relationship between the changes in the pyrene excimer formation efficiency in the membranes and of the values of the binding parameters of ANS for the membranes. From these results, it is suggested that the lipid phase of the membranes becomes more fluid by shielding negatively charged groups of the membrane surface and that there is a fairly close correlation between the membrane organization and the membrane surface charge density.  相似文献
