The aim of the present work was to determine phylogenetic relationships among Astraeus species and to support macroscopic and microscopic characters of Astraeus with analysis of the ITS rDNA region. Collections of Astraeus basidiomes were made from different geographical areas in Thailand and compared with existing collections made worldwide. The marriage of observations on morphological features, including basidiospore ornamentation and molecular data demonstrated the presence of several Astraeus species. Sequences for 41 Astraeus collections were compared and the phylogenetic analyses grouped Thai Astraeus collections into two distinct groups. One contained A. odoratus and an Asian species described herein as A. asiaticus. There are at least two additional species: A. pteridis, and one so far un-named from North America. Our results show that molecular data can be used in combination with traditional morphological characteristics to resolve taxonomic uncertainties in the genus Astraeus.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical composition and the odor‐active components of volatile oils from three edible mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus, Pleurotus eryngii, and Pleurotus abalonus, which are well‐known edible mushrooms. The volatile components in these oils were extracted by hydrodistillation and identified by GC/MS, GC‐olfactometry (GC‐O), and aroma extract dilution analysis (AEDA). The oils contained 40, 20, and 53 components, representing 83.4, 86.0, and 90.8% of the total oils in P. ostreatus, P. eryngii, and P. abalonus, respectively. Odor evaluation of the volatile oils from the three edible mushrooms was also carried out using GC‐O, AEDA, and odor activity values, by which 13, eight, and ten aroma‐active components were identified in P. ostreatus, P. eryngii, and P. abalonus, respectively. The most aroma‐active compounds were C8‐aliphatic compounds (oct‐1‐en‐3‐ol, octan‐3‐one, and octanal) and/or C9‐aliphatic aldehydes (nonanal and (2E)‐non‐2‐enal).  相似文献

The structural investigation of four bio- and synthetic melanins, obtained by the action of polyphenol oxidase from potatoes and Psalliota campestris mushrooms and of tyrosinase from Sepia officinalis on tryptophan, or by means of performic oxidation, has been carried out by thermal decomposition performed in the ion source of a mass spectrometer. The structural characterization of the ionic species |C8H7ON|+· common and abundant for all the examined compounds, has been obtained by accurate mass measurements and collisional spectroscopy. These mass spectrometric techniques have shown unequivocally for ionic species | C8H7ON| +· the structure of 2-indolinone.  相似文献

To clarify the diversity of Astraeus in Japan, 35 collections of Astraeus basidiomata from Japan and Thailand were examined for their morphological characteristics and the nucleotide sequences of the rDNA ITS region and compared with several worldwide Astraeus species. Japanese Astraeus specimens were separated into two groups based on basidiome size, shape of exoperidium, and ornamentation and size of basidiospores. The phylogenetic tree analyses supported the separation, and the morphological groups belonged to different clades. The Japanese Astraeus group 1, morphologically matched to Astraeus hygromerticus var. koreanus, showed the closest phylogenetic relationship with Astraeus hygrometricus from North American and Mediterranean regions, suggesting that the Astraeus group 1 can be indentified as A. hygrometricus var. koreanus. Another Astraeus group, group 2, morphologically matched to A. hygrometricus s.l., showed a distinct monophyletic clade that was separated from A. hygrometricus complexes, indicating an undescribed species.  相似文献

Mushrooms have long been used not only as food but also for the treatment of various ailments. Although at its infancy, accumulated evidence suggested that culinary-medicinal mushrooms may play an important role in the prevention of many age-associated neurological dysfunctions, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Therefore, efforts have been devoted to a search for more mushroom species that may improve memory and cognition functions. Such mushrooms include Hericium erinaceus, Ganoderma lucidum, Sarcodon spp., Antrodia camphorata, Pleurotus giganteus, Lignosus rhinocerotis, Grifola frondosa, and many more. Here, we review over 20 different brain-improving culinary-medicinal mushrooms and at least 80 different bioactive secondary metabolites isolated from them. The mushrooms (either extracts from basidiocarps/mycelia or isolated compounds) reduced beta amyloid-induced neurotoxicity and had anti-acetylcholinesterase, neurite outgrowth stimulation, nerve growth factor (NGF) synthesis, neuroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-(neuro)inflammatory effects. The in vitro and in vivo studies on the molecular mechanisms responsible for the bioactive effects of mushrooms are also discussed. Mushrooms can be considered as useful therapeutic agents in the management and/or treatment of neurodegeneration diseases. However, this review focuses on in vitro evidence and clinical trials with humans are needed.  相似文献

This article reviews and updates data on macro and trace elements and radionuclides in edible wild-grown and cultivated mushrooms. A huge biodiversity of mushrooms and spread of certain species over different continents makes the study on their multi-element constituents highly challenging. A few edible mushrooms are widely cultivated and efforts are on to employ them (largely Agaricus spp., Pleurotus spp., and Lentinula edodes) in the production of selenium-enriched food (mushrooms) or nutraceuticals (by using mycelia) and less on species used by traditional medicine, e.g., Ganoderma lucidum. There are also attempts to enrich mushrooms with other elements than Se and a good example is enrichment with lithium. Since minerals of nutritional value are common constituents of mushrooms collected from natural habitats, the problem is however their co-occurrence with some hazardous elements including Cd, Pb, Hg, Ag, As, and radionuclides. Discussed is also the problem of erroneous data on mineral compounds determined in mushrooms.  相似文献

Some carnation species (Dianthus spp., Caryophyllaceae) exhibit a strong resistance to drought stress that is connected with the increased surface wax formation. Wax composition is unknown for the majority of Dianthus spp. Herein, mass spectral and gas chromatographic data, in combination with synthesis and chemical transformations (transesterification and synthesis of dimethyl disulfide adducts), enabled the identification of 151 constituents of diethyl‐ether washings of fresh flowers of Dianthus cruentus Griseb . from Serbia. The flower wax contained, along with the dominant ubiquitous long‐chain n‐alkanes, homologous series of n‐ and branched (iso‐ and anteiso‐) long‐chain hexyl alkanoates/alkenoates and alkyl/alkenyl benzoates. The branching position in the mentioned hexyl esters was probed by synthesis of esters of three isomeric hexanols that were spectrally characterized (1H‐ and 13C‐NMR, IR, MS). The washings also contained long‐chain (Z)‐ and (E)‐alkenes (C23?C35) with several different double bond regiochemistries. Fifty‐five of these constituents (eight hexyl esters, two benzoates, and forty‐five alkenes) were detected for the first time in Plantae, while ten of these represent completely new compounds. The rare occurrence of these wax constituents makes them possible chemotaxonomic markers of this particular Dianthus sp.  相似文献

Food preferences and nematode parasitism were studied in natural populations of mycophagousDrosophila in and near Sapporo, northern Japan. Species which preferred fresh mushrooms showed species-specific responses toPleurotus mushrooms:D. pirka bred only onPleurotus cornucopiae, D. trivitata onP. cornucopiae andP. ostreatus, D. trilineata on these twoPleurotus mushrooms and some other mushrooms, whileD. sexvittata bred on a wide variety of mushrooms but seldom onPleurotus mushrooms. Species which preferred decayed mushrooms (D. quadrivittata, D. histrioides, D. testacea and species of thequinaria species-group) showed host preferences different from those of the above species. The rate of parasitism by nematodes was generally higher in species which prefer decayed mushrooms than in species which prefer fresh mushrooms. Among species which prefer fresh mushrooms, onlyD. trilineata was parasitized frequently by nematodes. It was not clear what factors determine the rate of parasitism in these mycophagousDrosophila. D. pirka, D. trivittata andD. trilineata passed through three or four generations per year and entered reproductive diapause in early September in and near Sapporo. A broad survey of the Asteraceae, involving visual characters, was undertaken to ascertain the occurrence of possible Kranz-type (C4) plants. One hundred and seven taxa representing 51 genera were examined by mass spectrometry for their 13C/12C ratios in dried leaf tissue. Species possessing the high 13C/12C ratio typical of the Kranz syndrome were found in genera belonging to the following tribes: Heliantheae (subtribe Coreopsideae)—Chrysanthellum (4 spp.), Eryngiophyllum (1 sp.), Glossocardia (1 sp.), Glossogyne (1 sp.), Isostigma (5 spp.); Tageteae—Pectis (21 spp.); and Helenieae—Flaveria (4 spp.). The only genus to possess both C3 and C4 species was Flaveria in which all but four species appear to possess a C3-type metabolism. Microbe-free compressed air was passed continuously for a 3-day test period through an enclosed system containing fresh neem leaves; the resultant emitted volatiles were passed over the surface of submerged liquid cultures of a wild-type aflatoxigenic isolate of Aspergillus parasiticus. Aflatoxin determinations for the fungal culture that received neem-derived volatiles, after a 3-day incubation period, resulted in a 90% overall reduction in aflatoxin production and a 51% reduction in fungal biomass when compared with cultures that did not receive neem volatiles. In a separate experiment but in a similarly enclosed system, volatiles from fresh neem leaves were collected on a small Tenax column and were thermally desorbed and cryogenically focused on a capillary gas chromatography column. The neem volatiles were subsequently separated and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Sixty-eight compounds were identified by comparison of retention times and mass spectra with either authentic compounds or spectra from a computer-assisted library database of mass spectra. It was found that 10% of the total headspace volatiles were composed of C3 to C9 alkenals, which are toxic to aflatoxigenic Aspergillus spp., which could explain the bioactivity that resulted in reduced biomass in the neem-treated cultures.  相似文献

Electroantennographic (EAG) responses of the male pea moth, Cydia nigricana, to a range of saturated and unsaturated straight chain alcohols and acetates were examined. Responses to saturated compounds of different chain lengths (C10 to c16) showed that acetates are much more active than alcohols, the shorter chain compounds (particularly C12 acetates) being the most active. With mono-unsaturated compounds, C12 acetates with the double bond at C-8, C-9 or C-10 elicited the largest responses and (El-10-dodecenyl acetate produced a greater response than any other compound tested. By analogy with results obtained with C.pomonella, (E, E)-8,lO-dodecadienyl acetate was tested and gave an EAG response larger than that for (E)-10-dodecenyl acetate. (E)-10-dodecenyl acetate and (E, E)-8,lO-dodecadienyl acetate were found to be strong attractants for male C.nigricana in the field.  相似文献

Aerobic, mesophilic bacteria from coal tar–contaminated soil were analyzed for pyrene utilization capacity and identified by 16S ribosomal DNA sequencing as members of three genera: Bacillus spp., Pseudomonas sp., and Rhodococcus sp. The soil contained nine different hazardous polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): benzo[g, h, i]perylene, dibenzo[a, h]anthracene, indeno[1,2,3-c,d]pyrene, pyrene, acenaphthylene, fluorene, phenanthrene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, and benzo[b]fluoranthene. Bacillus spp. (PK-6) MTCC 1005 showed 56.4% utilization of pyrene (C16H10) (50 μg ml?1) in 4 days, with growth associated biosurfactant activity and resulted in the formation of five new intermediates: phenanthrene (C14H10), 9,10-diphenylphenanthrene (C26H18), 9-methoxyphenanthrene (C15H12O), 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1-naphthoic acid (C11H12O2), and 1,6,7-trimethylnaphthalene (C13H14). The results suggested that Bacillus spp. could be found suitable for practical field application for effective in situ PAH bioremediation.  相似文献

Volatile hydrocarbon biodegradation by a mixed-bacterial culture during growth on Bow River crude oil was investigated using solid phase microextraction (SPME). Inoculum treatments were examined in relation to C5–C11 hydrocarbon degradation. Up to 1600 mg/l biomass (dry weight) was tested without achieving significant volatile hydrocarbon partitioning and affecting analysis. Inoculum age rather than concentration had the most profound impact on biodegradation. When late log phase crude oil-grown inocula were used, C5–C11 biodegradation reached 55–60%; methylcyclohexane and other branched compounds eluting before n-C8 were recalcitrant. Increasing the late log inoculum concentration from 0.63 to 63 mg/l resulted in a twofold increase in degradation rate without improving the substrate range. Methylcyclohexane recalcitrance was correlated with reduced levels of hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria and volatile hydrocarbon evaporation from the inoculum flasks. A decreased lag phase prior to degradation was observed when using early stationary phase cultures as inocula and most compounds up to C11, including methylcyclohexane, were biodegraded. Calvatia species, generally known as puffball mushrooms, are used both as sources of food and as traditional medicine. Among the Calvatia genus, Calvatia nipponica (Agaricaceae) is one of the rarest species. Using bioassay‐guided fractionation based on anti‐inflammatory effects, five alkaloids ( 1 – 5 ), two phenolics ( 6 and 7 ), and a fatty acid methyl ester ( 8 ) were isolated from the fruiting bodies of C. nipponica. Compound 8 was identified from C. nipponica for the first time, and all isolates ( 1 – 8 ) were tested for inhibition of nitric oxide (NO) production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. Compound 7 showed mild inhibition while compound 8 significantly inhibited NO production with an IC50 value of 27.50 ± 0.08 μm . The mechanism of NO inhibition of compound 7 was simulated by molecular docking analysis against nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), which revealed the interactions of 7 with the key amino acid residue and the heme in the active site. With the most potent inhibition against LPS‐induced inflammation, compound 8 was further investigated with respect to its mechanism of action, and the activity was found to be mediated through the inhibition of iNOS and COX‐2 expression.  相似文献

The effect of elevated carbon dioxide (600±50 cm3 m−3; C600) on growth performance, biomass production, and photosynthesis of Cenchrus ciliaris L. cv. 3108 was studied. This crop responded significantly by plant height, leaf length and width, and biomass production under C600. Leaf area index increased triple fold in the crops grown in the open top chamber with C600. The biomass production in term of fresh and dry biomass accumulation increased by 134.35 (fresh) and 193.34 (dry) % over the control (C360) condition where the crops were grown for 20 d. The rate of photosynthesis and stomatal conductance increased by 24.51 and 46.33 %, respectively, in C600 over C360 plants. In comparison with C360, the rate of transpiration decreased by 6.8 % under C600. Long-term exposure (120 d) to C600 enhanced photosynthetic water use efficiency by 34 %. Also the contents of chlorophylls a and b significantly increased in C600. Thus C. ciliaris grown in C600 throughout the crop season may produce more fodder in terms of green biomass.  相似文献

During their rapid maturation period, seeds of Cuphea wrightii A. Gray mainly accumulate medium-chain fatty acids (C8 to C14) in their storage lipids. The rate of lipid deposition (40–50 mg·d–1·(g fresh weight)–1) is fourfold higher than in seeds of Cuphea racemosa (L. f.) Spreng, which accumulate long-chain fatty acids (C16 to C18). Measurements of the key enzymes of fatty-acid synthesis in cell-free extracts of seeds of different maturities from Cuphea wrightii show that malonyl-CoA synthesis may be a triggering factor for the observed high capacity for fatty-acid synthesis. Experiments on the incorporation of [1-14C]acetate into fatty acids by purified plastid preparations from embryos of Cuphea wrightii have demonstrated that the biosynthesis of medium-chain fatty acids (C8 to C14) is localized in the plastid. Thus, in the presence of cofactors for lipid synthesis (ATP, NADPH, NADH, acyl carrier protein, and sn-glycerol-3-phosphate), purified plastid fractions predominantly synthesized free fatty acids, 30% of which were of medium chain length. Transesterification of the freshly synthesized fatty acids to coenzyme A and recombination with the microsomal fraction of the embryo homogenate induced triacylglycerol synthesis. It also stimulated fatty-acid synthesis by a factor 2–3 and increased the relative amount of medium-chain fatty acids bound to triacylglycerols, which corresponded to about 60–80% in this lipid fraction.Abbreviations ACP acyl carrier protein - FW fresh weight This work was supported by the Bundesminister für Forschung und Technologie. Cuticular analysis of Ephestia kuehniella females by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry revealed the presence of four groups of chemical compounds including alkane, alcohol, aldehyde and fatty acid. The cuticular n-alkanes ranged from 12 to 18, 20, 23, 24 and 29 carbon atoms in the chain. The most abundant n-alkanes detected in the cuticular extracts were C14 (14.98%) and C18 (8.15%). Cuticular fatty acids included hexadecenoic acid, 9-octadecenoic acid and 9,12-octadecenoic acid. Two types of alcohol including, 2-methyl-Z,Z-3,13-octadecadienol and 9-methyl-Z-10-tetradecen-1-ol acetate, were found in the cuticular lipids of the females. Two aldehyde components, (E)-11-hexadecenal and 9,17-octadecadienal, were identified in the cuticular extract of E. kuehniella. Antibacterial activity of the cuticular compounds was tested against Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus thuringiensis and Escherichia coli. These compounds from the moths inhibited the growth of Gram-positive bacteria. The functional characteristics of the cuticular compounds operating as pheromones, species-associated compounds and host-resistant compounds to bacterial infection are discussed.  相似文献

Gibberellins A1, A3, iso-A3, A4, A19, A20, and A36 were identified by gas chromatography-selected ion monitoring in apices of sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrids). Flowering apices (i.e., 2–4 cm panicle) contained 8–9 times more (estimated by bioassay) endogenous gibberellins A and iso-GA3 (ratio of 1:6:8, respectively; in total 51 ng g–1 fresh weight) than vegetative apices (6.4 ng g–1 fresh weight). Vegetative apices contained small but significant levels of GA19, which could not be detected in flowering apices; vegetative apices also contained approximately four times more of a GA36-like substance than flowering apices. Since the two apex types developed under the same photoperiod, the increased levels of GA and iso-GA3 and the reduced levels of GA19 and GA36-like substances are correlated with the flowering state rather than with photoperiod or photoperiod changes per se.
