A new species of the order Anaspidacea, Psammaspides williamsi gen.n., sp.n., is described from Australia. It belongs to a family of its own, Psammaspididae fam.n. This family seems to bridge the gap between the Stygocarididae and the Anaspidacea. The new species was found in gravel along a stream in northern New South Wales extending the range of distribution of the Anaspidacea far beyond its known limits to the north. It is the first fully interstitial species within the Anaspidacea.

Two new genera and species from Kenyan tidal areas,Polkepsilonema mombasae gen. et sp.n. andPternepsilonema servaesae gen. et sp.n., are described. Both are characterized by the presence of at least fourteen subcephalic setae and by thick thorns on the ventral body region of males. In the first genus, eight to ten subcephalic setae are situated anterior to the amphid, and the ambulatory setae are bisinuous. In the second, the subcephalic setae are situated at the posterior edge of the rostrum, and the ambulatory setae are straight.A key to the 13 genera of the Epsilonematidae is presented.Abbreviations a

A new species of the genus Habrobathynella Schminke, 1973, i.e. H. nagarjunai n.sp., is described from the groundwater of the Nagarjuna University campus near Guntur town, South India. One of the principal criteria in the original definition of Habrobathynella is amended to accommodate the new species. H. nagarjunai n.sp. differs from its three congeners, i.e. H. milloti (Delamare & Paulian, 1954), H. jeanneli (Delamare & Paulian, 1954) from Madagascar, and H. schminkei Reddy, 2002 from India, in several essential morphological details: the sympodite of uropod bears 8–10 similar spines; the apophysis on segment 4 of the antennule is short; of the two setae on the exopodite of uropod, one is apical and the other subapical in position; the basal segment of maxilla has three unequal setae; the male thoracopod VIII is relatively elongate. H. nagarjunai n. sp. is the second representative of the groundwater (eustygobiont) Bathynellacea in South Asia. Furthermore, a key to the identification of Habrobathynella spp. is given. 相似文献

A new genus of freshwater ostracods, Tanganyikacypridopsis gen.n., is established to include the species Potamocypris depressa Kiss, 1959, Cypridopsis calcarata Rome, 1962 and Cypridopsis anomala Rome, 1962, all from Lake Tanganyika. The genus is related to Sarscypridopsis McKenzie, 1977 and Plesiocypridopsis (Rome, 1965), mainly because of its hemipenis anatomy, and is believed to be endemic to Lake Tanganyika. 相似文献

Amphyllodomus incurvaria gen. et sp.n. is described and figured. The species lives among hydroids and algae and has a remarkable domiciliary biology in that it carries around a house built of two oval pieces of brown algae cut out by the animal itself. The species is placed in the Amphithoidae, but certain deviations from that family place it in an isolated position. 相似文献

Acanthopale perkinsi gen. et spa, from coral reefs near the Isle of Pines, Cuba, and from off the coast of Florida is described. The genus is characterized principally by the shape and distribution of paleae, insertion of the median antenna, and presence of a caruncle and a mouth cover. Notosetae (paleae) are similar in shape to the stalks of a rosebush, with two perpendicular series of alternate spines. Paleae of the anterior group are approximately one third the length of those of the posterior group, which are very long and slender. The new genus is discussed and compared with the other genera of Chrysopetalidae. 相似文献

The spatial evolution of South American Syncarida (Anaspidacea and Bathynellacea) and related taxa is evaluated applying a panbiogeographic approach, where Ocean basins are used to identify major patterns of intercontinental distribution. The Pacific basin, corresponding to a southern temperate track, is identified as the major evolutionary centre for Stygocaris (Stygocarididae), Bathynella (Bathynellidae), Atopobathynellu , and Chilibathynella (Parabathynellidae), whereas distribution of Nannobathynella (Bathynellidae) and Cteniobathynella (Parabathynellidae) is centred on the Atlantic Ocean, belonging to a northern tropical track. It is concluded that the biotic origin of the South American Syncarida is complex, implying the existence of at least two ancestral biotas. 相似文献

Australicola pectinatus n. gen., n. sp. (Pseudophyllidea: Triaenophoridae) is proposed to accommodate a new cestode from a deep-sea fish, the splendid alfonsino, Beryx splendens Lowe, 1834 (Beryciformes: Berycidae), from the Pacific coast of Tasmania. The new genus is placed in the Triaenophoridae, because it possesses a ventral uterine pore, marginal genital pore, and follicular vitellarium. Australicola is characterized by possessing a massive strobila with very short and wide, markedly craspedote proglottids; vitelline follicles forming a transverse equatorial band; a very deep and narrow genital atrium; a wide, convoluted vaginal canal; and unoperculate eggs. Australicola most closely resembles Eubothrium Nybelin, 1922 and Probothriocephalus Campbell, 1979 in having an unarmed scolex, an unarmed cirrus, the vagina anterior to the cirrus-sac, and cortical vitellaria. It differs from these 2 genera, in addition to the characteristics listed above, in possessing a dendritic rather than an entire ovary. Australicola pectinatus n. sp. is the third cestode described from B. splendens. 相似文献

Inanidrilus bulbosus gen. et sp.n. is described from subtidal sands near Miami, Florida. The species lacks alimentary canal, but it possesses highly modified penial setae and an unpaired dorsal spermatheca. It appears closely related to Phallodrilus Pierantoni, but since it is devoid of anterior prostate glands, which are attached to the ental ends of the atria in Phallodrilus , a new monotypic genus, Inanidrilus gen.n., is established. 相似文献

Austropeltum gen. nov. is described as a monotypic genus of the family Stereocaulaceae. It differs from other genera of the family by a sqamulose habit. The single species, Austropeltum glareosum sp. nov. is characterized by an heteromerous thallus with a thick, heavily gelatinized upper cortex, and stalked, lecideine, glomerate apothecia. The apothecial stalk is a pseudopodetium, which is delimited from the subhymenium by a pigmented boundary tissue. Asci are eight-spored and possess an amyloid tube-structure; the simple ascospores are fusiform and colourless. Filiform conidia are produced laterally and terminally in marginal pycnidia. A. glareosum grows over gritty soil on exposed mountain summits and plateaux in New Zealand and Tasmania. 相似文献

Two new chydorids, Nicsmirnovius camerounensis (gen. nov., sp. nov.) and Bryospilus africanus n.sp. are described, based on material from Korup, Mundemba, Bakingili and Debunscha, all in the rainforests of southwest Cameroon. Morphological structures show that both taxa are only remotely related, and that, while Nicsmirnovius is clearly an alonine, Bryospilus might well be a chydorine chydorid. Small, taxonomically non-significant differences occurred among specimens of Bryospilus recorded in three different forest areas. 相似文献

Rostromysis bacescuii gen. et sp. nov. and Megalopsis denlicaudagen. et sp. nov. belonging to the tribe Leptomysini are describedfrom the south-west coast of Australia. The characters uniqueto the genus Rostromysis are the unusually long club-shapedrostrum and the large delicate lamella-like pleopods of thefemale, thus easily distinguishing it from the allied generaTenagomysis and Doxomysis. The genus Megalopsis is closely alliedto Leptomysis, Prionomysis and Promysis but is readily distinguishablein having a short linguiform uncleft telson with a pair of medianplumose setae. 相似文献

Petrocha notogaea represents a new interstitial dorvilleid genus from subtidal medium coarse sands. With its distinctly neotenic characters, such as one pair of short palps, ciliary rings on all parts of the body, setigers with uniramous parapodia, simple capillaries, simple heterogomph falcigers and comparatively small size (1.2–1.4 mm), it shows close phylogenetic affinity to several other taxa of the Dorvilleidae, such as Ikosipodus, Microdorvillea, Arenotrocha and Pusillotrocha , which have only been described in the last four years. 相似文献

A new genus of Platycopioida is described from a boxcore sample taken at a depth of 534 m in the ArcticBarents Sea. This is the deepest record ofPlatycopioida so far. Sarsicopia gen. n. is thesistergroup of a taxon comprising Platycopia and Nanocopia; the sistergroup ofthese is Antrisocopia. Sarsicopia gen. n.is the only platycopioid to retain 2 inner setae onthe second endopod segment P2–P4, and 8 setae in thethird endopod segment of P2. The male antennnule isremarkable in having a geniculation located betweenancestral segments XX and XXI. It is suggested thatthis flexure zone was already present in thegroundpattern of Copepoda. Platycopia and Nanocopia have secondarily lost thisgeniculation. 相似文献

An examination of isopod material deposited in the Museum of the University of Costa Rica, San Pedro, revealed a new genus and species of terrestrial isopods, Mirtana costaricensis gen. et sp. n. which is distinguished by its three‐articulate antennal flagellum, incurved coxal plates and prominent neopleurae, while noduli laterales and respiratory areas on any pleopod are apparently lacking. Despite this unique combination of characters, a closer relationship to the widely distributed neotropical genus Ischioscia Verhoeff, 1928 can be postulated because of similar structure of male pereopods 1 to 2 and pleopod 1 endopodite. 相似文献
