Korean species of the family Sphecidae are reviewed, and seventeen species in nine genera belonging to three subfamilies are confirmed. Among them, Ammophila campestris and Sceliphron caementarium are new to South Korea. Korean occurrence of Sceliphron madraspatanum is confirmed with an actual Korean specimen. This paper provides the first determination keys to higher taxa and species occurring in South Korea. Taxonomic information of each species including original publication of valid name and justifiable references for Korean occurrence is provided. Digital images and line drawings for selective characteristics are also available.  相似文献

ABSTRACT A bibliographic review on the Korean mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) resulted in the recognition of 51 species and two forms of adult mosquitoes belonging to 10 genera, three subfamilies. We reviewed the family Lycidae in Korea. The Korean Lycidae was recorded to fourteen species under eight genera until now. However, the taxonomy of Korean species was conducted without comparative analysis. We revised the Korean Lycidae to eleven species under seven genera of two subfamilies. Also, we provided the key to subfamilies, gernera, and species including illustrations of pronotum and aedeagus, the photos of adult habitus.  相似文献

A taxonomic review of six genera of Korean Clerinae is presented. Eleven species, including Stigmatium pilosellum (Gorham, 1878), a new Korean record, are reported in this paper. A taxonomic study of Hydroglyphus Motschulsky in Korea is presented. Four species are recognized including a new species, Hydroglyphus coreanus sp. nov. Hydroglyphus flammulatus (Sharp) is reported for the first time in the Korean peninsula and H. geminus (Fabricius) is a new addition to the South Korean fauna. Habitus and SEM photographs, distribution maps, and key to the Korean species are provided.  相似文献

A taxonomic review of the fungivorous Korean Mycetophagidae is presented. Nine species in four genera belonging to two tribes are presented in Korea. Four species, Eulagius ussuriensis Nikitsky, Litargus japonicus Reitter, Mycetophagus irroratus (Reitter), and Mycetophagus pustulosus (Reitter), are newly recorded in Korea. Most species are associated with the fruiting bodies of higher fungi, fungus‐grown bark, and mold contaminated materials. In addition, we provide information on host‐fungi records of Korean mycetophagid species.  相似文献

A taxonomic review of Korean Haliplidae Aubé is presented. Eight species in two genera are recognized, one of which (Haliplus diruptus Balfour‐Browne) is reported for the first time in South Korea. We also found that H. ovalis Sharp previously recorded in the Korean peninsula was an incorrect identification of H. chinensis Falkenström. Habitus and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) photographs, diagnoses of genera, additional characters of species and diagnostic characters with illustrations of the species are provided.  相似文献

A novel glandular structure is described within the metatibia in ants of the poneroid group. This metatibial gland has been considered a major synapomorphic character of the subfamilies belonging to the doryline section. Histological investigations combined with scanning electron micrograph studies revealed a remarkably complex gland, consisting of a glandular epithelium and a cuticular pore plate, the morphology of which varies considerably between the species. This gland is also present in species of the generaDiacamma andPachycondyla (Ponerini). Based on the morphology of glandular epithelia and pore plates, it is not possible to decide whether this structure is homologous or analogous to that of the doryline section subfamilies. In workers of certain species of the genusDiacamma, the secretions of this gland are involved in sexual calling behavior.  相似文献

The tribe Ulomini of Korean Tenebrionidae is reviewed taxonomically. Korean Ulomini recorded to three genera and six species, Cneocnemis laminipes Gebien, Uloma marseuli Nakane, U. latimanus Kolbe, U. excisa Nakane, U. bonzica Marseul, Eutochia lateralis (Boheman). We have found that U. exciza was misidentified U. bonzica, and E. lateralis was not distributed in Korea as the result of this study. We confirm that two genera and four species are distributed in Korea. A key to diagnosis of the genera and species, and figures of these species are presented.  相似文献

The structure and evolution of a satellite DNA family was examined in lizards from the genus Darevskia(family Lacertidae). Comparison of tandem units of repeated DNA (satDNA), CLsat, in all species from the genus Darevskiahas shown that their variability is largely explained by single-nucleotide substitutions, which form about 50 diagnostic positions underlying classification of the family into three subfamilies. Maximum differences between the subfamilies reached 25%. At this level of tandem unit divergence in the subfamilies, no cross-hybridization between them was observed (at 65°C). The individual variability within one subfamily within the species was on average 5% while the variability between species consensuses within a subfamily was 10%. The presence of highly conserved regions in all monomers and some features of their organization show that satellites of all Darevskia species belong to one satDNA family. The organization of unit sequences of satellites CLsat and Agi160 also detected by us in another lizard genus, Lacerta s. str. was compared. Similarity that was found between these satellites suggests their relatedness and common origin. A possible pathway of evolution of these two satDNA families is proposed. The distribution and content of CLsat repeat subfamilies in all species of the genus was examined by Southern hybridization. Seven species had mainly CLsatI (83 to 96%); three species, approximately equal amounts of CLsatI and CLsatIII (the admixture of CLsatII was 2–5%); and five species, a combination of all three subfamilies in highly varying proportions. Based on these results as well as on zoogeographic views on the taxonomy and phylogeny of theDarevskia species, hypotheses on the evolution of molecular-genetic relationships within this genus are advanced.  相似文献

The fossil genus of rove beetles Apticax gen.n . with two new species, A. volans sp.n . and A. solidus sp.n., is described from the Nova Olinda Member of the Crato Formation in north‐eastern Brazil (Aptian–Albian, dated as 125–99.6 Ma old). Both species belong to the clade Staphylininae + Paederinae in the staphylinine group of subfamilies and are the first fossil true Staphylinidae to be described from the entire Southern Hemisphere. Although they resemble Paederinae, the low number of satisfactorily preserved characters do not allow definite placement of either A. volans or A. solidus in any of the subfamilies of Staphylinidae.  相似文献

The Korean species of Illiberis Walker are revised. A total of 10 species are recognized, including four species new to Korea: I. rotundata Jordan, I. psychina (OberthÜr), I. consimilis Leech, and I. hyalina (Staudinger). The identities of I. cybele Leech and I. assimilis Jordan, the two ambiguously defined Korean species, are reconfirmed with the examination of type specimens and additional materials. Photos of the adults and type materials are provided, and male and female genitalia of each species are illustrated. Biology and distribution for each species are briefly discussed with the larval host records from Korea.  相似文献

Brammer, C. A. & von Dohlen, C. D. (2010). Morphological phylogeny of the variable fly family Stratiomyidae (Insecta, Diptera). —Zoologica Scripta, 39, 363–377. Stratiomyidae is a dipteran family distributed worldwide and containing 2800 species classified into 12 subfamilies. Previous phylogenetic work on the Stratiomyidae consisted of a 20‐character morphological analysis of the subfamilies [ World Catalog of the Stratiomyidae (Insect: Diptera). Leiden: Backhuys Publishers, 2001 ], and a molecular study using 69 taxa and two gene regions [ Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 43, 2007, 660 ]. In this study, we present an expanded morphological cladistic analysis using 92 characters and 80 taxa, representing 36 of 39 described genera and all 12 Stratiomyidae subfamilies, as well as Xylomyidae and Pantophthalmidae outgroups. Data are analysed under maximum parsimony with all characters unordered and weighted equally; nodal support is assessed with the bootstrap and Bremer index. The strict consensus of all shortest trees is well resolved, and many of the deeper nodes are supported, although the root is ambiguous. Antissinae, Stratiomyinae, Sarginae and the diverse Clitellariinae are not monophyletic. Clitellariinae are positioned across several lineages, with most species grouped into a single, unsupported clade. Many of the well‐supported relationships are consistent with several aspects of the previous studies. The position of Exodontha remains elusive. Character support for subfamilies and other major clades is discussed.  相似文献
