Chrysanthemoides monilifera ssp. monilifera, indigenous to the Western Cape Province of South Africa, is a serious invader of native vegetation in south-eastern Australia. The rust fungus Endophyllum osteospermi causes witches' brooms on C. monilifera ssp. monilifera in South Africa, and is associated with a reduction in growth and seed production of its host under natural conditions, as well as mortality of severely infected bushes. This rust fungus is considered to be a potential biological control agent for use against C. monilifera ssp. monilifera in Australia. Endophyllum osteospermi has a long latent period, typically between 6 and 24 months between infection and the initiation of witches' brooms. This long latent period makes the logistics of doing traditional host specificity testing, in which all test plant species are inoculated and observed for symptom development, unfeasible for this rust fungus. Germination of aecidioid teliospores and penetration by basidiospores were observed on the surface of excised leaves of 32 test plant species at 4 days after inoculation, and compared to that on C. monilifera ssp. monilifera. Germinating aecidioid teliospores aborted on 14 test plant species, whilst no penetration was attempted on a further 12 test plant species. Penetration only occurred on nine of the 32 test plant species, in addition to C. monilifera ssp. monilifera. Inoculating whole plants of nine selected test plant species confirmed the above results. Therefore, only the test plant species in which penetration occurred, or at least was attempted, need to undergo comprehensive host specificity testing. Pending these results, E. osteospermi may be suitable for release in Australia for the biological control of C. monilifera ssp. monilifera.  相似文献

Nauplii batch cultures of Balanus amphitrite were reared with four different diatoms (Skeletonema costatum, Thalassiosira pseudonana, Chaetoceros gracilis, silicate-limited C. gracilis) at three different cells concentrations: 1×105, 5×105, and 1×106 cells ml−1. The cyprid energy reserves were quantified as the ratio of triacylglycerols (TAG) to DNA. Energy reserves of larvae fed on different diatoms at a concentration of 1×106 cells ml−1 were ranked in the order: silicate-limited C. gracilis>C. gracilis>T. pseudonana>S. costatum. There was a significant linear relationship between the TAG content of the diet and cyprid energy reserves. The effect of cyprid energy reserves on metamorphosis to polystyrene surface in the presence and the absence of conspecific settlement factor (SF) was studied after 12, 24, and 48 h of incubation. A strong positive correlation between energy reserves and percent metamorphosis was observed in the absence of SF (r12 h=0.88, r24 h=0.82, r48 h=0.68, P<0.05). A weak positive correlation was observed in the presence of SF (r12 h=0.43, r24 h=0.48, r48 h=0.50, P<0.05). In both treatments, more than 80% of the cyprids with high energy reserves metamorphosed within 24 h. In contrast, a high proportion of cyprids with low energy reserves metamorphosed in response to SF in 24 h. Our results indicate that discriminatory metamorphic behavior of cyprids is closely linked to their TAG/DNA ratio, a proxy for energy reserve.  相似文献

Smokers are exposed to a number of carcinogenic compounds including aromatic amines such as 4-aminobiphenyl. Antioxidants are thought to be involved in the defence against the damaging effect of such carcinogens. Recently it has been shown that plasma antioxidant status in smokers is diminished compared with non-smokers. In this study we investigated in 40 smokers whether the trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) in plasma could be quantitatively related to exposure to cigarette smoke. The biomarkers 4-aminobiphenylhaemoglobin (4-ABP-Hb) adduct and cotinine were determined as indices of cigarette smoke exposure. A correlation between 4-ABP-Hb adduct levels and plasma cotinine levels was found for the whole population studied, who smoked 4-70 cigarettes per day (n = 40, r2 = 0.12, p = 0.03). A significant inverse relationship was found between TEAC and 4-ABP-Hb levels (n = 40, r2 = 0.17, p = 0.008). Multiple regression analysis showed a strong relationship between 4-ABP-Hb levels and plasma TEAC and cotinine levels (n = 40, r2 =0.29, p = 0.002). These findings provide strong evidence that the 4- ABP-Hb adduct represents a valuable biomarker of (internal) exposure to tobacco smoke, and also that the formation of this marker is dependent on the plasma antioxidant status. The multiple regression analysis results show that the measure of effect (4-ABP-Hb adduct formation) is largely determined by dose (cotinine) and protection (TEAC).  相似文献

Inundative mycoherbicidal biocontrol agents are typically insufficiently virulent to be commercially competitive with herbicides in row crop agriculture, and require enhancement. Pectinase and cellulase are typically used by pathogens during infection. Thus, it was hypothesized that adding exogenous cell wall degrading enzymes might enhance fungal infection. Pectinase or cellulase was added to inocula of aqueous chopped mycelial suspensions of a strain of Colletotrichum coccodes for control of Abutilon theophrasti. Plants treated with 5.3×106 C. coccodes propagules mL-1 and 1.65 U mL-1 pectinase had more rapid and complete disease development. Similar trend was achieved when 10 U mL-1 of cellulase were added to 2.2×106 C. coccodes propagules mL-1. Adding pectinase or cellulase did not increase the host range of the wild-type fungus. The results suggest that there might be value to transforming biocontrol agents to overproduce these enzymes.  相似文献

Polychlorinated biphenyls PCBs are ubiquitous and persistent environmental compounds. Exposure of workers handling these materials can be assessed by biological monitoring. We have compared the concentration of PCBs in the plasma of exposed workers as measured by gas chromatography with electron capture detection (mean = 40.9 ng ml-1, range = 6.7-120.3 ng ml-1) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) (mean = 47.1 ng ml-1, range = 6.8-186.2 ng ml-1). There was a good overall correlation between the two methods (n = 28, r = 0.92). We conclude that an ELISA is a useful screening tool for biological monitoring purposes where there is not immediate access to standard analytical equipment or where a very high throughput of samples is required.  相似文献

珍贵树种降香黄檀与印度檀香混交种植是当前华南地区人工林发展的一种重要模式.本研究设置对照(不做处理)、铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥4个处理,研究抚育措施对林地土壤净矿化速率、净硝化速率、净铵化速率和氮素淋溶速率的影响.结果表明:4个处理0~10 cm土层在春、秋季有最大净氮矿化速率,分别为18.92、18.13 mg·kg^-1·month^-1;在春、秋季有最大硝化速率,分别为20.35、18.85 mg·kg^-1·month^-1;夏、冬季有最大铵化速率,分别为0.22、0.26 mg·kg^-1·month^-1;秋季的氮素淋溶最严重,为15.98 mg·kg^-1·month^-1,全年最大淋溶为86.69 mg·kg^-1.铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥都在一定程度上抑制了土壤氮的净矿化和硝化速率,铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥处理年氮矿化量分别下降26.2%、16.1%、6.3%,年氮硝化量分别下降17.1%、16.6%、1.4%,同时也抑制了土壤铵态氮的累积.铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥处理全年氮素淋溶量依次减少25.2%、8.6%、6.1%.相对于铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥抚育措施,季节因素对土壤氮素矿化和淋溶过程的影响更显著.铲草、施肥、铲草+施肥措施在一定程度上抑制了土壤氮素硝化和铵化过程,减少了土壤氮素的矿化和淋溶损失量,有利于土壤肥力的保存和氮素的累积.  相似文献

栖息地破碎化、人为干扰等因素影响着中华鬣羚(Capricornis sumatraensis)的生存。目前, 中华鬣羚的行为研究还比较匮乏, 因此有必要构建中华鬣羚的行为谱及PAE (posture-act-environment)编码系统, 以期促进其基础行为资料的完善, 为深入开展科学研究和保护工作奠定基础。本文旨在: (1)参照国内常用的动物行为编码方法, 以“姿势-动作-环境”为轴心, 建立中华鬣羚的行为谱及PAE编码系统, 并随机抽取20%的中华鬣羚视频作为检测样本, 对行为谱的实际使用效果进行测试。(2)对中华鬣羚的行为数据进行统计并通过计算行为多样性指数, 分析各特定年龄组间的行为多样性差异, 检验特定年龄组与行为多样性指数间的相关性。结果显示: (1)通过区别和归类中华鬣羚的10种姿势、80种动作、9种环境、78种行为, 首次建立了中华鬣羚的行为谱及PAE编码系统。经测试, 该行为谱能够客观地对中华鬣羚行为进行识别和归类。(2)与亚成体和幼体相比, 中华鬣羚成体特定行为类型的行为多样性指数(Avariable)、绝对行为多样性指数(A)、相对行为多样性指数(r)和校正行为多样性指数(r-variable)均为最高; 中华鬣羚亚成体特定行为类型的行为多样性指数(Avariable)、绝对行为多样性指数(A)、相对行为多样性指数(r)介于成体和幼体之间; 中华鬣羚幼体的特定行为类型的行为多样性指数(Avariable)、绝对行为多样性指数(A)和相对行为多样性指数(r)最低, 校正行为多样性指数(r-variable)高于亚成体。(3)中华鬣羚行为谱可用于其行为学研究, 今后应获取繁殖行为的图像数据, 更新行为谱及PAE编码系统。(4) 3个特定年龄组中华鬣羚的各行为多样性指数之间差异不显著(F = 0.013, P = 0.987), 从幼体到成体, 中华鬣羚的特定行为类型的行为多样性指数(Avariable)、绝对行为多样性指数(A)和相对行为多样性指数(r)随年龄的增大呈递增趋势。综上所述, 我们应深入研究中华鬣羚行为学, 为其保护工作提供科学支撑。  相似文献

在山东农业大学林学实验站杨树连作土壤中施加不同剂量(0.17、0.33、0.67、1.00、1.33和1.67 g·kg-1)的球毛壳ND35菌肥,测定不同处理下一年生杨树叶片的光响应过程、叶绿素荧光以及叶黄素循环等光合生理生化指标,研究球毛壳ND35菌肥对杨树根系和光合生理性能的影响.结果表明: 随连作土壤中菌肥含量的增加,杨树叶片的叶绿素含量(Chl)呈增加趋势,电子传递速率(ETR)、净光合速率(Pn)、量子效率(Φ)、硝酸还原酶(NR)活性以及根系活力等生理指标均呈先增加后降低的趋势,依赖于叶黄素循环的光合热耗散呈降低趋势,而非光化学淬灭(NPQ)呈先降低后增加的趋势.在土壤施加菌肥剂量0.67和1.00 g·kg-1处理时,光合机构的过剩光能减少,向光化学反应方向分配的光能增多,光能利用效率提高.在连作土壤中施加适量(0.67~1.00 g·kg-1)的球毛壳ND35菌肥,能在一定程度上提高杨树的根系生理活性,提高杨树叶片对光能的利用效率,有利于改善杨树叶片的光合机构运转状态,提高叶片的光合作用效率.  相似文献

为研究风车草(Cyperus alternifolius)和香根草(Vetiveria zizanioides)迁移养分的能力,建立17.0m2风车草潜流式人工湿地和13.3 m2香根草潜流式人工湿地处理猪场废水,在四个季节末测定植物生物量和组织氮、磷、铜、锌含量.结果表明,香根草地下部生物量大于风车草,地上部生物量则是风车草大于香根草.风车草年地上部收获量为3406.47 g·m-2,比香根草的1483.88 g·m-2高2.3倍;风车草的氮含量为22.69 mg·g-1,比香根草的15.44 mg·g-1高7.25 mg·g-1;风车草的磷含量为6.09 mg·g-1,比香根草的5.47 mg·g-1高0.62 mg·g-1.植株含铜、锌量风车草略比香根草高.风车草每年迁移N 68.72 g·m-2和P18.49 g·m-2,香根草迁移N 8.93 g·m-2和P 3.69 g·m-2.风车草人工湿地每年由植物迁移的氮、磷、铜、锌比香根草高4~7倍.  相似文献

使用热扩散探针法(TDP)监测黄土丘陵区2015年7—9月人工林中油松和沙棘树干液流密度(Js)的动态变化,并通过植物的水分利用生理特征判断2个树种的水分利用类型.结果表明: 油松和沙棘的Js在降水前后均表现为单峰型日变化特征,油松生长旺盛期的Js(12.62 mL·m-2·s-1)显著高于沙棘(2.60 mL·m-2·s-1).2个树种Js与光合有效辐射、水蒸汽压差、土壤体积含水量(SWC)呈显著正相关.8月和9月降水前后,2个树种的Js都主要受气象因素影响.9月降水导致SWC对沙棘Js的解释量增加4.2%,而8月和9月的降水导致SWC对油松Js的解释量均降低了0.3%.油松中午叶片水势显著高于沙棘且变异系数(7.3%)低于沙棘(11.7%),而沙棘具有较高的叶片气孔导度,因此可以判断出油松属于恒水型植物,沙棘属于变水型植物.  相似文献

Since very few previous studies have carried out the quantitative analysis for the colocalization of nitric oxide (NO) and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) in the submucous neurons in the rat digestive tract, we applied in vivo treatment of colchicine to enhance the immunoreactivity and examined the colocalization of NO synthase (nNOS) and VIP in neurons of the submucous plexus throughout the rat digestive tract. The density of nNOS-containing neurons in the submucous plexus in the stomach corpus (103±25 cells/cm2, n=3) and that in the antrum (157±9 cells/cm2, n=3) were significantly lower than those in small and large intestine. However no difference was detected in the cell density among duodenum (1967±188 cells/cm2, n=3), jejunum (2640±140 cells/cm2, n=3), ileum (2070±42 cells/cm2, n=3), proximal colon (2243±138 cells/cm2, n=3) and distal colon (2633±376 cells/cm2, n=3). The proportion of nNOS-immunoreactive (IR), nNOS/VIP-IR and VIP-IR neurons to the total number of submucous neurons was examined. nNOS/VIP-IR neurons comprised 45–55% of total number of submucous neurons from the duodenum to the proximal colon, however those comprised 66.4±5.1% in the distal colon. The results showed that the dense distribution of nNOS-containing neurons was found in the submucous plexus throughout the small and large intestine, and large population of submucous neurons co-stored nNOS and VIP.  相似文献

Light-dependent Ca2+ efflux via the Ca2+/H+ antiport in the photosynthetic purple sulfur bacterium Chromatium vinosum was inhibited by three phenothiazines: chlorpromazine; trifluoperazine and phenothiazine. The inhibitors had no effect on Ca2+ uptake by C. vinosum in the dark nor any effect on the light-dependent efflux of either Na+ or Tl+ catalyzed, respectively, by the C. vinosum Na+/H+ or K+/H+ antiports. Ruthenium red and LaCl3, neither of which inhibited light-dependent Ca2+ efflux in C. vinosum, markedly inhibited Ca2+ uptake in the dark by C. vinosum cells. Ruthenium red had no effect on the uptake of either Na+or the K+ analog T1+ by C. vinosum cells in the dark. These results have been interpreted in terms of two separate Ca2+ transport systems in C. vinosum: (i) a phenothiazine-sensitive and ruthenium red, La3+-insensitive Ca2+/H+ antiport responsible for Ca2+ efflux in the light; and (ii) a ruthenium red and La3+-sensitive but phenothiazine-insensitive Ca2+ uptake system.  相似文献

利用滤纸培养皿法研究藜科植物梭梭和甜菜根水浸提和乙醇浸提两种浸提液对肉苁蓉种子萌发和吸器形成的影响。结果表明: 水和乙醇浸提的根浸提液对肉苁蓉种子萌发和吸器形成无明显作用;两种根醇浸提液添加10 mg·kg-1赤霉素(GA3)处理的肉苁蓉种子萌发率均提高了10倍以上,但与只加赤霉素处理组(GA3对照)无显著差异。在根浸提液中添加1 mg·kg-1氟啶酮(FL)处理的肉苁蓉种子萌发率与FL对照组无显著差异,其中甜菜根水浸提液处理组肉苁蓉种子萌发率最高,达39.4%。与根浸提液中添加赤霉素处理仅能使萌发率提高不同,寄主根浸提液中添加FL后,萌发肉苁蓉种子芽管上均有吸器形成,梭梭根醇浸提处理的吸器形成率最高,达16.2%。梭梭根醇浸提液中同时添加GA3和FL,肉苁蓉种子萌发率可提高到52.3%,但吸器形成率与浸提液中添加FL处理无差异;FL对照仅有6.7%的萌发肉苁蓉种子形成吸器,显著低于梭梭根醇浸提液添加FL处理组。不同处理的肉苁蓉种子吸器形成位置和形态有差异,添加寄主根浸提液处理的吸器大多出现在芽管顶端,多个乳头状凸起成爪状;未添加寄主根浸提液的FL对照组吸器出现位置大多在芽管底部或顶端出现分叉。研究证明,乙醇浸提和水浸提两种方式都能从寄主根中提取出促进肉苁蓉种子吸器形成的物质但对促进种子萌发作用不明显;GA3和FL可显著提高肉苁蓉种子的萌发率,但萌发肉苁蓉种子吸器的形成受寄主根浸提液中某些物质的影响。  相似文献

Isocyanato and isothiocyanatopolypyridineruthenium complexes, [Ru(NCX)Y(bpy)(py)2]n+ (bpy=2,2′-bipyridine, PY=pyridine; X=O, Y=NO2 for n=0, and Y=py for n=1; X=S, Y=NO2 for n=0, Y=NO for n=2, and Y=py for n=1), were synthesized by the reaction of polypyridineruthenium complexes with potassium cyanate or sodium thiocyanate salt. Isocyanatoruthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(NCO)(NO2)(bpy)(py)2] and [Ru(NCO)(bpy)(py)3]+, react under acidic conditions to form the corresponding ammineruthenium complexes, [Ru(NO)(NH3)(bpy)(py)2]3+. The molecular structures of [Ru(NCO)(bpy)(py)3]ClO4, [Ru(NCS)(NO)(bpy)(py)2](PF6)2 and [Ru(NO)(NH3)(bpy)(py)2](PF6)3 were determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR and visible spectroscopies, EPR and electrochemistry, as well as X-ray structure crystallography. The group consists of discrete mononuclear units with the general formula [Cu(II)(Hbpa)2](A)2·nH2O, where Hbpa=(2-hydroxybenzyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine and A=ClO4 −, n=2 (1), CH3COO, n=3 (2), NO3 −, n=2 (3) and SO4 2−, n=3 (4). The structures of the ligand Hbpa and complex 1 have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Complexes 1–4 have had their UV–Vis spectra measured in both MeCN and DMF. It was observed that the compounds interact with basic solvents, such that molecules coordinate to the metal in axial positions in which phenol oxygen atoms are coordinated in the protonated forms. The values were all less than 1000 M−1 cm−1. EPR measurements on powdered samples of 1–3 gave g/A values between 105 and 135 cm−1, typical for square planar coordination environments. Complex 4·3H2O exhibits a behaviour typical for tetrahedral coordination. The electrochemical behaviour for complexes 1 and 2 was studied showing irreversible redox waves for both compounds.  相似文献

苦参(Sophora flavescens Ait)是豆科槐属(Sophora L.)的多年生草本植物,我国南北各省区均产,苏联、朝鲜和日本亦有分布。在细胞学方面,Kawakami[3]、Hexob[8]和Kodama[4]都报道过苦参的染色体数目为2n=18,但Nagl[8]却报道2n=28。本文作者在对苦参作染色体基数的基础上,进行了核型的描述和分析。  相似文献

Quality control of Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. israelensis (Bti) products is currently based on international toxic units (ITUs). The potency of products is related to the activity of a standard (IPS-82, Institute Pasteur, Paris) assessed in bioassays using Aedes aegypti as a target host. The procedure is time consuming and costly, often producing variable results. The activity of Bti is based on four different insecticidal crystal proteins (ICPs): Cry4Aa, Cry4Ba, Cry11Aa and Cyt1Aa. Monoclonal antibodies were produced using IPS-82 for immunisation and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed. Antibodies were selected with specificity against Cry11A and Cyt1A. Cry4 specific antibodies could not distinguish between Cry4A and Cry4B. Within five replicate assessments of the three ICPs (in µg mg-1 ICP protein), an error between 3 and 8% was recorded, whereas a 14% error was obtained comparing seven samples of the same production batch for ITUs mg-1. The toxicity against A. aegypti expressed in ITUs correlated well with the results of the ELISA (correlation coefficient r Cyt 1=0.79; Cry 11=0.87; Cry 4=0.91) also when related to the sum of all ICPs (r=0.87). The ELISA can reduce efforts to determine Bti quality compared with the labour-intensive and variable ITU bioassay.  相似文献

为明确新疆不同寄主及地理来源的金黄壳囊孢(Cytospora chrysosperma)的多样性, 探讨种内亲缘关系和多样性差异。作者通过记录菌株在PDA培养基上的菌落颜色、形状、子实体形态等特征, 并应用Biolog-FF技术及ISSR分子标记技术, 比较了来自新疆5个地区5种寄主上的47株金黄壳囊孢的培养特征、生理生化特征及遗传多样性。结果表明47株金黄壳囊孢依据培养特征可划分为15种类型。不同类型菌株在碳源利用及代谢能力上存在差异, 各菌株对碳源的利用数量随着培养时间的增长逐渐增多。菌株882利用的碳源数量最多, 培养120 h可利用28种不同碳源, 碳源代谢能力中等; 菌株812-1利用的碳源数量最少, 培养120 h仅利用7种碳源, 代谢能力较低; 菌株1074-2、847、934、891-1、896、740具有单独利用碳源的能力。基于遗传相似性系数进行聚类分析, 结果显示遗传相似性系数为0.58时, 47个菌株被划分为两大类群, 其中第二类群菌株的培养特征为: 菌落白色、子实体较小且分布密集。供试金黄壳囊孢的多样性主要受自身遗传结构的影响, 不同寄主种类和地理来源对多样性的影响不显著。  相似文献

研究水蚀风蚀交错区土地利用方式转变对土壤水气传输的影响,可为黄土高原生态恢复过程中有限水土资源的高效利用提供参考.为了分析不同土地利用方式下的土壤水气传输特性,探究饱和导水率(Ks)、导气率(Ka)和相对气体扩散率(DP/D0)间的关系,对柠条地、撂荒地、苜蓿地、农地和裸地样地0~5 cm深度土层原状土,采用定水头法测定Ks,气室法测定DP/D0,土壤导气率测定仪测定田间持水量(FC)下的Ka.结果表明: 土壤0~5 cm容重(ρb)的大小顺序为苜蓿地>裸地>撂荒地>柠条地>农地,撂荒地、裸地和苜蓿地ρb与农地差异显著.土壤总孔隙度(Φ)的大小顺序为农地>柠条地>撂荒地>裸地>苜蓿地,相比农地,苜蓿地、裸地和撂荒地土壤Φ分别低7.5%、4.7%和3.1%.充气孔隙度(ε100)的大小顺序为农地>撂荒地>柠条地>裸地>苜蓿地,苜蓿地、裸地、柠条地和撂荒地ε100分别较农地低38.3%、33.6%、12.8%和10.1%.土壤Ks的大小顺序为撂荒地>柠条地>苜蓿地>裸地>农地,其中,撂荒地Ks显著高于其他4种土地利用方式;土壤Ka的大小顺序为撂荒地>苜蓿地>柠条地>裸地>农地,撂荒地与农地之间差异显著;土壤DP/D0的大小顺序为撂荒地>柠条地>苜蓿地>农地>裸地,其中,柠条地和撂荒地土壤DP/D0显著大于农地,分别较农地高36.8%和61.6%.土壤Ks和FC条件下的KaDP/D0之间呈显著相关.土地利用方式转变显著改变了土壤的通透性,耕地撂荒或者种植柠条及苜蓿改善了表层土壤导水和导气性能,农地和裸地土壤水气传输能力较差.  相似文献

The neogregarine, Mattesia oryzaephili (Neogregarinorida: Lipotrophidae) has only been reported from the sawtoothed grain beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis. The pathogen's presence in cadavers of the rusty grain beetle, Cryptolestes ferrugineus, in collapsed colonies prompted studies of its potential to control stored-product insects. Respective mortality rates in fourth instar C. ferrugineus and C. pusillus were 15.3 and 17.7% at 102 oocysts/g of diet and 89.4 and 80.5% at 105 oocysts/g. The mortality of fourth instar O. surinamensis exposed to 105 oocysts/g was only 12%. For C. ferrugineus larvae, there were no significant differences in mortality and infection between exposure to Mattesia dispora and exposure to M. oryzaephili (P>0.05), but for C. pusillus larvae, both responses were significantly higher for M. oryzaephili than M. dispora. Adult C. ferrugineus and O. surinamensis were similar in their responses to M. oryzaephili, with mortality not exceeding 20%, but differed in their responses to M. dispora, with O. surinamensis being more susceptible. The median lethal doses for larval Mediterranean flour moths, Ephestia kuehniella, were 7.9×107M. oryzaephili oocysts/g of diet and 2.7×103M. dispora oocysts/g of diet. In single dose assays of M. oryzaephili physiological host range, greater than 75% infection was achieved for Rhyzopertha dominica and Plodia interpunctella. More than half of oocysts germinated during passage through the guts of susceptible and resistant insects. Second and third instar Galleria mellonella were highly susceptible to M. oryzaephili infection, but fifth instars were not. Infection percentages in fifth instars exposed to 106 oocysts/g were significant only when boric acid or the stilbene, Blankophor®RHK were incorporated into the diet. Host range and general morphology confirm the identity of Mattesia oryzaephili.  相似文献
