乳菇属真菌与松属植物形成的外生菌根

描述了两种乳菇属真菌在湿地松上形成菌根的形态学和组织学特征,结果表明两种真菌形成菌根在形态学和组织学上基本相似。其区别在于菌根的颜色及受伤后产生的乳汁的颜色。与文献报道的该属真菌形成的菌根的形态特征比较,表明具有乳汁菌丝是本属真菌形成菌根的共同特征。根据目前已有资料给出了乳菇属真菌所形成菌根的检索表。     

Tubulated bodies in teleost (Pimelodus maculatus) endothelial cells

In the present report tubulated granules are described for the first time in a freshwater teleost (Pimelodus maculatus) endothelial cells. Some ultrastructural characteristics as well as the localization and distribution suggest that tubulated bodies represent the teleost counterpart of the Weibel-Palade bodies described in other animal classes.     

Monitoring the environment: The use of electronic meters and chemical or bacteriological tests

Following a previous paper which described the characteristics of the various types of electronic ‘environmental meters’ for use in schools this paper aims to give a more critical review of the instruments available. Chemical test papers and kits for use in environmental studies are also described.     

Characterization of a cellulase producing mold, Trichoderma sp. W-10 isolated from infected mushroom spawn

A potent cellulase producing mold, Tichoderma sp. W-10 suitable for enzyme production with solid state culture was isolated from infected mushroom spawn, its characteristics and taxonomic studies were carried out. As a result, this mold was identified as Trichoderma koningii (Oudemans) according to the keys of Gilman and Rifai's classification system and the morphological features described by Komatsu. Meanwhile, a detail survey of physiological, cultural and biochemical characteristics were also described.     

Effects of siltation on stream fishes and the potential mitigating role of the buffering riparian zone

Riparian buffer zones serve several important roles in linking a stream to its watershed. A main function is controlling the dynamics of sedimentation. This paper documents how siltation impacts fish communities and how proper riparian management can mitigate the negative effects of sedimentation. Two studies examined the relation between stream siltation and fish community characteristics. Community responses to siltation were poorly described by common structural indices. Community level responses to varying siltation were most consistently described by changes in functional characteristics of the resident fish species using a guild-based analysis. Herbivores, benthic insectivores and simple lithophilous spawners were most sensitive to siltation while other guilds were not. These results were repeatable in both intraregional comparisons among sites of similar size and character, and in interregional comparisons of streams which varied in characteristics besides siltation. This suggests the index may be useful in separating the effects of siltation from other environmental variables. A discussion of bufferstrip characteristics important in mitigating against, or preventing, excess siltation is presented.

Nodule structure and initiation in the leaves of Neorosea andongensis(Rubiaceae) are described. Some characteristics of the bacterialendophyte are also given. The observations are compared withthose described for some species of Psychotria and Pavetta.

The first finding in the Sea of Japan of two specimens of Alectrias gallinus (Lindberg, 1938). Localities of captures, plastic characteristics, meristic characteristics and general habit of the investigated fish are described.

Summary Two new cases of the D.O.O.R. syndrome are reported. The patients described showed most of the characteristics described by Cantwell (1975) and some others that may represent additional clinical findings of this rare syndrome.

Reproductive aspects and storage of semen in camelidae

The characteristics of male and female reproductive tracts and reproductive physiology in camelids are described. An account is given on methods of collection, characteristics and storage of semen, and fertility after artificial insemination (AI) with fresh, liquid-stored and frozen-thawed lamoid and camel semen.     

Lappodiamesa willasseni sp.n. (Diptera, Chironomidae, Diamesinae) from the Soviet Far East

Lappodiamesa willasseni sp.n. is described. It differs from related species in characteristics of the male adult. the pupa and the larva. A key to the species of Luppodiamesa Serra-Tosio is given. In contrast to previously described Diamesinae . the homologes of the large polytene chromosomes are often unpaired in few regions and they have a meandric structure. The four pairs of chromosomes include three metacentric and one acrocentric (spherical) chromosoine. A series of chromosome markers are described.     

A new species of Trichosporonoides isolated from sweetened orange/mango drink in Australia

Trichosporonoides australiense sp. nov.: a basidiomycetous yeast-like fungus is described and illustrated with information on some physiological characteristics based on a single strain isolated from sweetened orange/mango in Australia. The differences between it and already described members of the genus are discussed. The new species may be distinguished principally by its inability to ferment sucrose and maltose. A dichotomous key to all described members of the genus is provided.

黏菌作为真核生物“树冠”中的原始类群,是研究真核生物演化模式的重要分支。本文通过对黏菌在生活史不同阶段的生物学特征、行为与相关发育机制综述,展现了黏菌多样的细胞发生模式。通过对黏菌与变形虫门其他类群的系统发育关系进行阐述,比较了各类群间的同源特征,进一步说明了黏菌的个体发育特征与系统发育关联,为黏菌类群的演化研究提供理论支持。     

Epidemiology and variability of Malassezia spp

A short review on Malassezia spp., completed with our experience, is made. The main epidemiological characteristics with particular regard to the diffusion in several animal species, the characteristics of skin colonization (in particular of the dog) and the distribution of the different Malassezia spp. in some hosts are discussed. Lastly the main phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, referred to M. pachydermatis especially, were described, showing their high variability and differentiation.
