介绍利用水培麦苗大量饲养麦蚜的技术。在不补充营养液的条件下麦苗可以维持10~15d,一般在饲养条件下可以1周换1次麦苗。小麦种子在经过24h浸种后,平铺在底部垫有滤纸的直径9cm的培养皿中,在25℃,4d后就可以接种麦蚜。适宜的试样条件为温度在18~25℃,相对湿度50%~70%,光周期为17hr∶7hr,饲养1代大约需要5~9d时间,每皿可养麦蚜500头以上。经过40代以上的连续饲养,蚜虫体重和每蚜产幼蚜数量没有明显降低趋势。  相似文献

Aphidius ervi and Aphidius eadyi, two parasitoids of the pea aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum, were attracted to components of the aphid sex pheromone in laboratory bioassays. Pre-test experience with host aphids in the presence of aphid sex pheromone did not affect the response of A. ervi to pheromone in a 4-way olfactometer, compared with that of naive parasitoids. Aphidius ervi females exposed only to the pheromone prior to testing did not respond in the olfactometer, suggesting habituation to the foraging cue by the parasitoid. In a wind tunnel, aphid sex pheromone increased the attraction of A. ervi to the plant-host complex (Vicia faba/A. pisum), suggesting an additive effect when two different foraging cues are present simultaneously.  相似文献

A method for the bioassay of Enthomophthora spp. against aphids is described. Twenty-four isolates comprising five species of fungi were screened for activity against Therioaphis trifolii f. maculata. The only isolates with a high level of activity were those of E. sphaerosperma obtained from aphids. The initial bioassays with E. sphaerosperma indicated that aphids, starved for 24 hr during inoculation with E. sphaerosperma primary spores, were less susceptible than those removed from the plants, for just the period of exposure to the primary spore shower. Using the latter procedure, five assays of the most pathogenic isolate gave a mean LC50 of 11.3 primary spores/mm2 while bioassays of four other isolates gave LC50 values ranging from 15.7 to 27.3 spores/mm2. The potential of E. sphaerosperma as a microbial control agent for T. trifolii f. maculata in Australia is discussed.  相似文献

The aphid parasitoid Aphidius ervi was released in the major lucerne-growing areas of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, between 1978 and 1981. With the collaboration of district agronomists of the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, five State-wide surveys were conducted in 1982–1983 to determine the success of the release program. In each survey, the distribution of the parasitoid was checked in relation to populations of the aphids Acyrthosiphon kondoi Shinji and Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). The surveys confirmed the successful dispersal and establishment of A. ervi in the major lucerne-growing areas of NSW. They demonstrated its ability to survive and recover rapidly after a severe and widespread drought.  相似文献

This research aims to examine the effect of phenolics on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) (Homoptera: Aphididae) development and feeding behaviour, on leaves of selected low-saponin lines of Radius alfalfa (Medicago sativa). There was a slight, negative correlation (Spearman rank correlation r s = −0.80) between concentrations of saponins and phenols. Lines with higher concentrations of saponins had less phenolics. Levels of phenolics in low-saponin lines of alfalfa cv. Radius were related to their acceptance by the pea aphid. Our data revealed an inverse relationship between level of phenolics and the aphid abundance and its biology on studied alfalfa lines. Larval development of the pea aphid was longer, reproduction period was shorter, and the fecundity was lower on low-saponin lines with higher level of phenolics. There were observed some tendencies in the pea aphid feeding behaviour on these lines: prolonging the probing of the peripheral tissues (epidermis and mesophyll) and shortening the period of phloem sap ingestion. The better hosts for the pea aphid were low-saponin lines with low levels of phenolic compounds.  相似文献

Forty‐four parthenogenetic lineages of Myzus persicae s.l. (Sulzer) from tobacco crops and peach orchards located in various regions of Greece were examined to determine their response to the insecticide pymetrozine using leaf‐dip bio‐assays. The results show that the aphid has not developed resistance, as all lineages exhibited resistance factors bellow 6.0. In transmission experiments of potato virus Y (PVY) using a lineage of the tobacco‐adapted subspecies M. persicae nicotianae Blackman on tobacco plants, one foliar application with pymetrozine provided adequate protection for 7 days. Pymetrozine significantly reduced both virus acquisition and inoculation compared with the untreated control and the reduction was comparable to a mineral oil application. These results are discussed in terms of the advantage of incorporating pymetrozine as a compound of pest management strategies against M. persicae s.l. and for control of non‐persistent viruses, especially in crops such as tobacco because of the high selection pressure from neonicotinoids resulting in potential of resistance developing in aphid populations.  相似文献

【目的】为了合理利用自然天敌,定量评价棉田自然天敌对苗蚜和伏蚜的控制作用。【方法】采用接虫罩笼法结合系统调查。【结果】发现苗蚜的主要自然天敌是龟纹瓢虫Propylaea japonica Thunberg和异色瓢虫Harmonia axyridis Pallas,大部分时间能够有效的控制苗蚜种群在防治指标以下,控害指数高达91%;伏蚜主要自然天敌是蜘蛛、草蛉和龟纹瓢虫,由于其种群数量太少,益害比低,对伏蚜控害指数始终低于20%,无法有效的控制伏蚜种群。【结论】结果提示,应根据苗蚜和伏蚜自然天敌控制作用不同,制定合理的保护利用自然天敌的策略。  相似文献

The aphid, Aphis gossypii, is a primary pest of citrus, cotton, cucurbits and greenhouse‐grown vegetables in Turkey and throughout Europe. There is some previous empirical data suggesting that host‐adapted genotypes of this aphid exist which may in fact be host‐races. To determine if host races of A. gossypii are indeed present in the eastern Mediterranean region of Turkey, reciprocal host transfer experiments and life table analyses were performed with multiple asexual lineages (= clones) of the aphid collected from different hosts. The collection hosts included citrus, cucumber, eggplant, okra, sweet pepper and cotton. Aphid developmental times on the host from which the aphid was originally collected (= collection or natal host) were shorter (5.2–6.0 days) and had a higher intrinsic rate of population growth (rm = 0.25–0.44) than the 6.6–7.3 days required when the aphid was reared on a non‐original collection host (= non‐collection host or non‐natal host) and had rm = 0.03–0.30. Total immature mortality of the cotton clone, especially in the first nymphal stage, was high (51–100%) with low rm (0–0.03) on cucumber, citrus and sweet pepper. Aphid populations transferred from citrus, eggplant and okra to cotton (rm = 0.29–0.30) did not differ significantly in their performance from that of the cotton population on cotton (rm = 0.34), whereas that from sweet pepper and cucumber populations (rm = 0.22–0.24) were significantly lower. These data have allowed us to separate A. gossypii into two distinct biological groups: (a) a ‘generalist’ population obtained from cucumber, sweet pepper, citrus, eggplant and okra which exhibited statistically better development on cotton; versus (b) a population from cotton which, by comparison on reciprocal hosts, developed poorly on non‐natal hosts except on eggplant. Development of the cotton clone on cucumber and okra was not improved after four successive generations on the non‐natal host. The good development of A. gossypii from eggplant and cotton on these reciprocal hosts suggests that these particular clones were similar, if not identical, host races.  相似文献

Long days (short nights) (LD 16:8) and high temperatures (> 15°C) have an apterizing effect on the short day (LD 12:12) induced, presumptive gynopara of Aphis fabae. Transfer of presumptive gynoparae to long days (15°C) or to 25°C (short days) at varying times during postnatal development demonstrate that the adult form is determined by the second day of the second instar, i.e. 5 days after birth at 15°C. Transfer on day 1 induces maximum apterization with the proportion of aphids affected decreasing with age at transfer.Apterization induced by long days immediately after birth can, to some extent, be cancelled by return to short days but only up to day 4. Thus long days are morphogenetically more potent than short days at the beginning of larval development. At temperatures above 15°C the proportion of aphids apterized increases almost linearly.Apterized insects can be distinguished from juvenilized insects in the fifth-instar. Topical application of juvenile hormone (JH) induces both apterization and juvenilization of presumptive gynoparae but at different times during larval development, JH treatment during the early-instars promotes apterization but induces little juvenilization, whereas maximum juvenilization, without apterization, is produced by middle-instar treatment. The apterizing effects of JH are, thus, not due to its neotenic action.The response profile of JH-induced apterization is similar to that observed with long days and 25°C. It is suggested that such conditions increase endogenous JH levels in A. fabae. The three naturally occurring JH's differ in activity in the order JH I > JH II > JH III. Both long-day and JH-apterized insects switch from the normal ovipara production of the adult gynopara to vivipara production.  相似文献

In April 2022, Aristolochia plants with symptoms of mosaic were observed in a garden at Jardim Botânico Plantarum, Nova Odessa, São Paulo State, Brazil. Potyviridae-like particles were observed by transmission electron microscopy in leaf extracts. Total RNA extracted from symptomatic plants used in RT-PCR with universal and BCMV-specific primers detected the potyvirus bean common mosaic virus (BCMV). The cucumovirus cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) was identified only in Aristolochia littoralis plants that tested negative by RT-PCR for BCMV. Phylogenetic analysis grouped samples of Aristolochia in a different clade among samples of Phaseolus vulgaris. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the CMV isolate from Aristolochia belongs to the CMV group IA. BCMV was mechanically transmitted to healthy plants of A. fimbriata, Chenopodium quinoa, P. vulgaris cv. Jalo and Macroptilium lathyroides. CMV was mechanically transmitted to plants of A. fimbriata and C. quinoa. The BCMV and CMV were aphid transmitted only by Aphis gossypii to Aristolochia plants. This is the first report of BCMV and CMV infecting Aristolochia plants in Brazil.  相似文献

Conclusion Although there have been reports, based on light microscope observations, of damage to mesophyll tissue as a result of stylet penetration, we saw no evidence of this in our wax sections. However, the use of the electron microscope revealed that such damage does occur, and has also shown that both inter- and intracellular penetration routes exist, often within the same track, whereas we had formerly believed the stylet pathways of these aphids to be almost entirely intercellular. The intramural-extracellular route of penetration, characterised by the presence of stylets and or saliva between the cell wall and plasmalemma, requires the greater resolution of electron microscopy and cannot be distinguished in light microscope preparations.Our results suggest that an accurate indication of the stylet pathway cannot be obtained from the use of light microscopy alone, and raise serious doubts about the value of previous studies describing the route of stylet penetration. Light microscopy shows the track only at the tissue level and not at the cellular level. We advocate that all future studies of aphid stylet penetration should utilise both light and electron microscope studies because only the higher resolution of the latter technique will indicate the true stylet pathway and the end points of the tracks. Only then can the feeding site be determined with any precision.  相似文献

All three naturally occurring juvenile hormones (JH's) were shown to have effects on the parthenogenetic/gamic polymorphism of Aphis fabae; they mimicked long day conditions by inducing parthenogenetic forms. When topically applied to fourth instar gynoparae, JH caused the appearance of oviparous/viviparous intermediate morphs in the progeny. JH induced both wing development and embryogenesis in embryonic, presumptive oviparae. Embryogenesis was induced by lower doses of JH. Adult, embryo-containing alatae produced by treatment with high JH doses were capable of flight, and whilst reluctant to reproduce, their few viable progeny were oviparae. They did, however, differ from normal gynoparae in size, occasional presence of scent plaques on the metathoracic tibiae, numbers of secondary rhinaria on the antennae and morphogenetic response to postnatal rearing in long day conditions. The presumptive, oviparous embryos most sensitive to JH treatment were shown to be ca 323 μm in length, close to the stage where their germaria differentiate as parthenogenetic or gamic. Similar effects were observed in the progeny of JH-treated, teneral adult gynoparae but there was no effect on the morph of progeny of long day, alate virginoparae. The JH's differed in potency in the order JH I > JH II > JH III. The treatment of fourth instar gynoparae also induced a terminal batch of apparently normal viviparous progeny in a number of aphids. This result was obtained even at JH doses below threshold for the appearance of oviparous/viviparous intermorphs.  相似文献

Cereal aphids infesting spring wheat in southwestern Idaho were surveyed during 1988 and 1989 for the presence of entomophthoralean fungi and hymenopterous parasitoids. Cereal aphids killed by the fungi (cadavers) and parasitoids (mummies) includedDiuraphis noxia (Mordvilko),Metopolophium dirhodum (Walker),Sitobion avenae (F.), andSchizaphis graminum (Rondani). Taylor's power law was used to describe the relationships between mean densities of cadavers or mummies (number per tiller) and associated variances. Except forS. graminum mummies, which were at low levels throughout the growing seasons and tended to be randomly distributed, Taylor's slopes exceeded 1.0 for all the aphid cadavers and mummies, indicating varying degrees of clumping in spatial pattern. The spatial patterns ofD. noxia andM. dirhodum cadavers were similar, simply reflecting those of their own populations, but more aggregated than were their respective mummies resulting from parasitoid attack. The intercepts and slopes from the power law analysis were used to generate functional relationships between the proportion of wheat tillers bearing cadavers or mummies of each aphid species and the mean density, and develop optimal numerical (direct counting) and binomial (presence or absence) sample size curves for both cadavers and mummies of each aphid species.   相似文献

Abstract. 1. The cabbage root fly, Delia radicum (L.), was deterred from laying eggs on brassica plants with >250 cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae (L.), or peach-potato aphid, Myzuspersicae (Sulz.).
2. Flies did not lay on plants infested with >250 aphids.
3. Preparations of (E)-β-farnesene, the aphid alarm pheromone, deterred the flies from laying only at the extremely high dose of 32 mg/plant.
4. Although M. persicae secreted large (1 ng/insect) amounts of alarm pheromone and B. brassicae extremely small (<0.01 ng/insect) amounts, both aphids equally deterred D. radicum from laying.
5. The deterrent effect appeared to result from the aphids physically disturbing the flies during host-plant selection.  相似文献
