利用透射电镜技术对栽培甜菜(Beta vuigaris)花粉发育过程进行了超微结构观察。结果表明,在小孢子母细胞减数分裂期间,细胞内发生了“细胞质改组”,主要表现在核糖体减少,质体和线粒体结构发生了规律性变化。末期1不形成细胞板,而是在2个子核间形成“细胞器带”。“细胞器带”的存在起到类似细胞板的作用,暂时将细胞质分隔成两部分。四分体呈四面体型,被胼胝质壁包围。小孢子外壁的沉积始于四分体晚期,至小孢子晚期外壁已基本发育完全。单核小孢子时期,细胞核大,细胞器丰富。二细胞花粉发育主要表现在生殖细胞壁的变化上,生殖细胞壁上不具有胞间连丝。成熟花粉为三细胞型,含有1个营养细胞和2个精细胞。精细胞具有短尾突,无壁,为裸细胞,每个精细胞通过2层质膜与营养细胞的细胞质分开。生殖细胞与精细胞里缺乏质体。  相似文献

用透射电镜观察了麻疯树(Jatropha curcas L.)小孢子发育的超微结构。小孢子母细胞时期内质网和质体较多;减数分裂和四分体时期,细胞处于明显的代谢活跃状态,细胞器丰富,主要有内质网、线粒体、质体、高尔基体和球状体;在小孢子发育早期和晚期,线粒体和内质网仍较丰富;小孢子经过高度的不对称分裂后,形成较大的营养细胞和较小的生殖细胞,营养细胞中细胞器数量明显减少,含大量的淀粉和脂类物质,生殖细胞中脂类物质丰富;表皮、药室内壁和中层细胞在小孢子母细胞和四分体时期淀粉粒丰富,小孢子时期明显减少,绒毡层从小孢子母细胞至小孢子发育晚期的细胞器都很丰富,主要为内质网、质体和线粒体,为二胞花粉发育奠定基础。  相似文献

运用透射电子显微镜技术,对甜菜无融合生殖单体附加系M14的小孢子发生、雄配子体发育以及相应的花药壁发育过程进行超微结构的观察研究,以阐明甜菜无融合生殖单体附加系M14花粉发生与发育超微结构特点以及花粉败育的时期和败育的细胞学特征.结果显示:(1)小孢子母细胞减数分裂正常,分裂期间细胞质具有明显的"细胞质改组"现象,主要表现在核糖体减少,质体、线粒体的结构发生规律性的变化,有利于孢子体向配子体的转变.M14减数分裂的胞质分裂为同时型,前期Ⅱ和中期Ⅱ形成"细胞器带";正常发育的花粉,小孢子分裂形成营养细胞和生殖细胞;生殖细胞脱离花粉壁,生殖细胞游离于营养细胞的细胞质中,最初具细胞壁,而后消失,且生殖细胞壁成分与花粉内壁成分相似.(2)三细胞型的成熟花粉含有一个营养细胞和两个具有尾突的精子;每个精子通过两层质膜与营养细胞隔开,含有一个大的精核,长尾突内含少量的细胞质以及纤丝状结构.(3)生殖细胞和精子中缺乏质体.(4)花粉的败育起始于小孢子,大部分受阻于单核-二细胞花粉期,其败育特征为花粉内液泡吞噬作用导致细胞器解体,绒毡层细胞过早解体或肥大生长致使营养供应受阻,可能是导致单核-二细胞花粉败育的主要细胞学原因.研究表明,白花甜菜第九号染色体的附加可能是导致M14大量花粉败育的遗传学因素.  相似文献

用JEM-100CXⅡ透射电子显微镜对宁夏枸杞(Ly cium barbarum L.)花粉发育过程做了超微结构观察.结果表明,在花粉母细胞细线和偶线期,核糖体数量减少、线粒体结构简化;之后核糖体数量逐渐回升,后期Ⅰ线粒体结构恢复正常.小孢子液泡化过程中核糖体再次减少,同时线粒体和质体结构简化;在早期二胞花粉中,核糖体数量增加、线粒体和质体结构再度分化.花粉母细胞和小孢子发育过程中都存在“细胞质改组”现象,且这两次“细胞质改组”与细胞功能的转变密切相关.在次生造孢细胞、花粉母细胞和小孢子后期都有液泡数量明显增加或体积增大的过程.前两次液泡的增加可能参与了其胼胝质壁的构建;而小孢子晚期中的大液泡则创造了一种极性为其不等分裂作好了生理和结构上的准备.  相似文献

Alternative reproductive tactics are often associated with discontinuous variation in morphology but may evolve independent from each other. Based on life‐history data and a phylogeny we examine how male morphology and reproductive behavior are linked in the evolution of the ant genus Cardiocondyla. Wingless Cardiocondyla males engage in lethal fighting for access to female sexuals, whereas winged males disperse and mate away from the nest. This basic pattern shows considerable variation across species. A phylogeny based on ~3 kbp sequence data shows that male diphenism and lethal fighting are ancestral traits tightly linked in evolution. Winged males were lost convergently in several species groups, apparently in response to the low probability of encountering female sexuals in nests without a resident fighter male. An early dichotomy separates two clades with alternative male morphologies and fighting behavior, but phenotype and fighting strategy are not correlated with the presence of winged males.  相似文献

Envipnmental cues,mainly photoperiod and temperature,are known to control female adult reproductive diapause in several insect species.Diapause enhances female survival during adverse conditions and postpones progeny production to the favorable season.Male diapause(a reversible inability to inseminate receptive females)has been studied much less than female diapause.However,if the males maximized their chances to fertilize females while minimizing their energy expenditure,they would be expected to be in diapause at the same time as females.We investigated Drosophila montana male mating bchavior under short-day conditions that induce diapause in females and found the males to be reproductively inactive.We also found that males reared under long-day conditions(reproducing individuals)court reproducing postdiapause fermales,but not diapausing ones.The diapausing fies of both sexes had more long-chain and less short-chain hydrocarbons on their cuticle than the reproducing ones,which presumably increase their survival under stressful conditions,but at the same time decrease their attractiveness.Our study shows that the mating behavior of females and males is well coordinated during and afier overwintering and it also gives support to the dual role of insect cuticular hydrocarbons in adaptation and mate choice.  相似文献

Sexually selected traits, such as male weapons, are highly variable in shape and size across species. However, little is known about the mechanisms that may govern this variation. Because males with greater investment in weapon size tend to win more fights, but also pay higher costs related to weapon development and maintenance, larger weapons should be expected only in species in which victory in male–male fights generate reproductive benefits that outweigh investment costs. Here, we hypothesized that the reproductive characteristics that increase the chances of winners to access females or to fertilize eggs will favor the evolution of larger weapons. To evaluate this hypothesis, we conducted a meta-analysis using arthropods as model organisms. To measure investment in weapon size, we gathered both Pearson correlation coefficient and the standardized (but non centralized) slope values for the relationship between weapon size and body size. We found that none of the reproductive characteristics we investigated was related to male weapon size. Thus, it seems that greater certainty of accessing a female or fertilizing female eggs with a victory does not modulate the investment in male weapon size. Perhaps the cost–benefit ratio between weapon size investment and reproductive success is not the main factor driving the variation in weapon size.  相似文献

Goat does supposedly need to be separated from bucks before male stimuli can induce reproductive activity, ovulation, and estrous. The present study examined the reproductive response (ovulation and estrous) of does to “novel” bucks in direct contact with them and when separated from them by a fence. One hundred fourteen does were distributed into three groups: (1) ISOL group (N = 31): females that had been completely isolated from males for 46 days, and thereafter placed in direct contact with “novel” males during the breeding period; (2) NOTISOL-CONTACT group (N = 29): females that had been in contact with “familiar” vasectomized males for 46 days and thereafter placed in direct contact with novel males during the breeding period; (3) NOTISOL-NO CONTACT group (N = 54): females that were in contact with familiar vasectomized males for 46 days and thereafter introduced to novel males, but separated by a fence, during the breeding period. All the males were treated with melatonin to ensure that they were sexually active. Estrous activity was recorded daily by direct visual observation of the marks left by marking harnesses worn by the males. Ovulation was confirmed via the plasma progesterone concentration (measured in weekly blood samples). The ovulation rate was assessed by transrectal ultrasonography. Fecundity, fertility, prolificacy, and productivity were also determined for the ISOL and NOTISOL-CONTACT groups (naturally, in the NOTISOL-NO CONTACT group, no pregnancies were possible). The introduction of novel males induced the same ovarian response in each group (P > 0.05), but the percentage of females that showed estrous and ovulation was lower in the NOTISOL-NO CONTACT group (P < 0.05). No differences were seen between the ISOL and NOTISOL-CONTACT groups (P > 0.05) in terms of fecundity, fertility, prolificacy, and productivity. These results show that the introduction of novel males to females already in contact with familiar males induces ovarian activity similar to that observed in the classical male effect (ISOL group) and that this response leads to a significantly higher estrus activity only when direct physical contact between the females and the novel males is established.  相似文献

Competition for mates has resulted in sophisticated mechanisms of male control over female reproduction. Antiaphrodisiacs are pheromones transferred from males to females during mating that reduce attractiveness of females to subsequent courting males. Antiaphrodisiacs generally help unreceptive females reduce male harassment. However, lack of control over pheromone release by females and male control over the amount transferred provides males an opportunity to use antiaphrodisiacs to delay remating by females that have returned to a receptive state. We propose a model for the evolution of antiaphrodisiacs under the influence of intrasexual selection, and determine whether changes in this signal in 11 species of Heliconius butterflies are consistent with two predictions of the model. First, we find that as predicted, male-contributed chemical mixtures are complex and highly variable across species, with limited phylogenetic signal. Second, differences in rates of evolution in pheromone composition between two major clades of Heliconius are as expected: the clade with a greater potential for male-male competition (polyandrous) shows a faster rate of divergence than the one with typically monoandrous mating system. Taken together, our results provide evidence that for females, antiaphrodisiacs can be both honest signals of receptivity (helping reduce harassment) and chastity belts (a male-imposed reduction in remating).  相似文献
